821  Other / Off-topic / Favorite OS and reasons on: February 02, 2017, 11:02:52 AM
The aim of this poll is the have an idea about the users of this section OS preferences, as i am also a developer i would like to know if other devs have the same preferences as i.
Please provide the reasons for your choice.

I voted for Ubuntu and Mac.

Ubuntu because it easy to use, frequently updated, stable, customisable, reliable OS, i can say that for me, it is the best OS i ever used wether in CLI or GUI.
Mac because behinde every Mac, a Linux heart is beating, nothing more.

I don't vote for windows because it is buggy, trustless, ugly, virus/hacking compliant, you don't have any controle over it unless you are ready to spend hours fetching for controles, and, if they are not bugged.

Thanks for participating.
822  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Running a node on a low spec notebook computer. on: February 02, 2017, 10:38:28 AM
OK here we go with the project.

I'm creating the recovery disk at the moment - what a slow process this is, but then I guess it's Windows. Smiley

I've got a 128GB Sandisk USB drive, and I'm going to try this for the Linux install. It's got a blockchain backup from last January (2016), so I guess I can overwrite that. My next post in this thread will be to say that Ubuntu is up and running hopefully. Smiley

This may  be your best option http://bcoin.io/
it is a full node in the browser, it consumes a ridiculus amount of CPU, thus sparing battery, it doesn't need a bitcoin client, you can see it working directly while he is validating transactions.
here is the documentation : http://bcoin.io/docs/index.html
Here you can choose what kinde of client you want to run : http://bcoin.io/browser.html

This project has been made by coinables, here is the github : https://github.com/bcoin-org/bcoin

At the moment of writing, the node part of the website seems down for a reason, but you can use it with nodejs on your computer : https://nodejs.org/en/download/
823  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Several scam coins on: February 02, 2017, 10:14:20 AM
I guess it's a matter of where and how you want to put the word out.
And what you expect to come of it.

I have been saying for year all along that people don't care.
All people care about is "Will it make me money ?"
By "people" i mean the majority in control of the Altcoin scene.

I like your effort and off hand i bet you are right too.
I doubt most Altcoin users have even bothered to look at this forum section.
The ones that would benefit the most from it all anyway (the vulnerable)
Scammers will sure be here though waiting fro the name to come up.

I agree with the rest of what Lauda said (been saying the same pretty much for ages)
A lack of policies is a good way to put it too.
The forum was an opportunity.. often abused by us all here.

The key i think is letting people know WHY supporting worthless garbage is bad.
And WHY supporting more legit looking coins can be a benefit to them.
I try and point out how i believe the path to riches is by following your best judgement and having some integrity.
Basically the money / profits will follow if you are doing the right thing.. have patience and faith and avoid the temptation to make a quick buck with scammy bullshit.

Thank you for such an elaborated answer, i think that i will create a scam detection post for the newbies along with an explicative post about the negative result of garbage coins.
Now regarding the investigation i didn't wanted to go too deeply into it, as there are enough details with the IPs.

I totally agree with spoetnik about the forum abuse, but even if it is a scam, a project should at least bring some new features to the cryptocurrencies, as i said in an old thread, blackcoin did an ICO with a lot of shitcoins in icostart.com, i remeber of chilicoin, staketoken, PGC, brexitcoin ... But at least, rat4 introduced a nice innovation to the crypto world.
824  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A little help with API's please on: February 02, 2017, 09:53:54 AM
Thank you both so i nearly have it correct now using this:

Code:
<?php
// Set the JSON header
header("Content-type: text/json");

//Create a function to make things easyer
function getPrice($url){
$decode file_get_contents($url);
return json_decode($decodetrue);
}

// $y is the request URL
$y getPrice('https://novaexchange.com/remote/v2/market/info/BTC_AUR/');

// $z is the first array
$z $y['markets'];

//$p is the object in $z array
$p $z[0]['bid'];

echo
json_encode($p);
?>

It is now delivering the correct part, but it has inverted comma's wrapped around it - output with above code is :

Code:
"0.00009608"

I cant believe how confusing this is, but i'm learning Smiley

Crunck

change : echo json_encode($p); // this line says echo $p in json format
to : echo $p; // this line says echo $p in plain format

This is just one of the several ways to do it, you can play by mixing both my code and your code, but why don't you do it using javascript ? it may be better if you want to use back these infos in the page for display and dynamics.
825  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Several scam coins on: February 01, 2017, 06:37:29 PM
Thank you for your notice, the problem is that bitcoin has risen from the darknet to clear net these last years, and such shit coins are very bad for the crypto community and the bitcoin as their reputation got even more droped and it feeds the list of cons for bitcoin.
The problem is much wider than what you've just described. However, that discussion is probably not suited for this thread as it will draw away the attention from the presented situation.

It is sad to have always copy/paste coins without any new development behinde, even if there is no coin stealing, yet it is a waste of time, money, energy, reputation to the both forum users, and bitcoin community.
The current Bitcointalk policy allows all of that (as long as there is no malware in the linked software). Or should I say, lack of policies?

Because of these, many good projects are treated as scam, and then screwed by the community, while true scam projects or fake projects gets the attention of the crowd.
Exactly. Generally it is just damaging to the whole ecosystem.

I have a friend on bitcointalk, spartacus, he teached me lot about the forum, but i can tell that bitcointalk policy is limited, and it is normal and not an issue, this forum has been made originally for developers and to spread the usage of bitcoin. It is normal to have scammers as today bitcoin is much bigger then before, there will always be developers over the top, but legendary accounts shall bring more support to the newbies, as the actual system may be abused especially regarding trust system and account ranking, while it depends on the dev capacities of each individual, there is no safe ecosystem but i think that high ranked accounts and staff members shall be more present in the newbie threads to show them how the forum works, and introduce them to the bitcoin world and show them how to avoid scams and abuses.

This is why i decided to conduct this investigation, and to show the newbies how to do investigations and detect scam projects using nodes, ips, sources ...

Again thank you for your interest and for sharing your opinion. and i would be interested to know more about what solutions you may offer to the bitcointalk policies and ecosystem, perhaps in annother thread.

//$p is the object in $z array
$p $z[0]['last_price'];

echo
json_encode($z);
echo
json_encode($p);
?>

It works like a charm for me

Now for your code :

Code:
printf("%0.8f", $obj->markets[0]->bid);

i guess you should split it in several parts as "->" is for objects, and you require and array in the middle of an object.

first get the object then access market
second access to market array
third walk inside
827  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Several scam coins on: February 01, 2017, 12:57:34 PM
It's pretty pointless to tag them even if there was a substantial reason to do so. They will just come with new alts and create coins with new names. The problem is that the people who are flocking towards these coins are led by greed and not reason.

As pointed by the OP, it has been provided by  welshy9 who's pool ip is http://84.200.210.70/
So basically you're trying to say that the same person is behind all these coins, correct? This is just the standard 'pump-and-dump' scheme that has been going on for years. I would argue that an abandoned project is much different than a scam. The latter usually implies theft of coins (e.g. from a IPO) in that section. I also don't see why anyone would invest in one without at least some security (e.g. escrows).

Thank you for your notice, the problem is that bitcoin has risen from the darknet to clear net these last years, and such shit coins are very bad for the crypto community and the bitcoin as their reputation got even more droped and it feeds the list of cons for bitcoin.

That's a good catch.Speaking from my experience,the altcoin community is too naive to fall for a project if it contains the "real-faces" of the developers.Regardless of the concept and such,they receive easy funding.The scammer is probably a smart guy,it is upto the community to find out the good from the scams.

I agree with you, especially regarding new users, and they shall be protected from such a waste, and directed to legit projects, i know that forum moderators are not the police, i did this thread to actually prevent people form engaging here, because of the waste.
828  Economy / Scam Accusations / Several scam coins on: February 01, 2017, 12:35:56 PM
Hello,

This accusation is about coins created by the same developers, using the same scheme, they always end as scam projects or abandoned :

- Impeach
- Joker
- Smurf
- Luna

The proofs :

- These IP addresses are recurrent either as electrum server, seed node, block explorer : 84.200.210.70 | 45.55.83.96

Luna : https://github.com/lunawallet/lunawallet/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L937
Smurf : https://github.com/smurfscoin/smf/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L941
Joker : https://github.com/jokercoindev/joker/blob/master/src/net.cpp#L941
Impeach : present in the ANN thread as a node, but whois.domaintools show these infos :

Registrant Org    WhoisGuard, Inc. was found in ~5,143,895 other domains
Reverse Whois
Registrar    NAMECHEAP INC.
Registrar Status    clientTransferProhibited
Dates    Created on 2017-01-26 - Expires on 2018-01-26 - Updated on 2017-01-26

Name Server(s)    DNS1.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM (has 2,163,133 domains)
DNS2.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM (has 2,163,133 domains)

IP Address    84.200.210.86 - 1 other site is hosted on this server

As pointed by the OP, it has been provided by  welshy9 who's pool ip is http://84.200.210.70/

So regarding these informations, i conclude that welshy9 is either working with cryptolife or one of their best customers.
It would be unfair if these coins are managed and created by the same guy.
EDIT: forgot to add this link who reports IP blacklisting https://webnode2.cleantalk.org/blacklists/65kfb3ug5@outlook.com
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Weak / Narrow Blockchain AI on: February 01, 2017, 10:21:36 AM
I prefer one wallet. Single backup, less hassle.

Agree with Pallas, one single wallet with multiple coins is better then managing multiple wallets.
Will they all sync together ? i mean, lets say there are 4 chains in the wallet, if i open a specific one, will the others sync with the network or only one at once ?
Your project seems to be advancing well, i would be happy to provide you with any support you may need for the release.

Thanks for the replies everyone, helped me a lot. I've also came across Ethereum, that's not clear to me. Is it a blockchain, is it a wallet... what is it?

Ethereum is the most complicated one for me, it is like bitcoin except that it is more javascript turned, you can create "smart contracts" and the management is harder then bitcoin.
So basically, the fees for transactions are calculated using gas not eth, gas price is calculated but i don't know exactly how, you can go to their gitter channels, they may give you more informations.
But if you want to introduce someone to cryptocurrencies, i advise you to stay with bitcoin as cryptos like ethereum are not user friendly.

834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin essay on: January 30, 2017, 04:36:08 PM
But this " unspent output" is confusing me. Having trouble translating that.

You should keep in minde that bitcoins aren't stored in your computer, you can say they are ethereal coins as they are managed by the blockchain, and this is what you keep in you computer.
When you receive a transaction with x amount of bitcoins, their status is set to "unspent" it means that hey still belong to this address, now if you spend them, they no longer belong to your address.
This is a way to keep track of bitcoins and coin supply.
835  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: JSON RPC API call from webpage on: January 30, 2017, 03:50:11 PM
change rpcallowip = localhost or 127.0.0.1
you could also add more info to your querry, like the protocol, which is generally http :

Code:
<?php
require_once(
'easybitcoin.php');

$bitcoin = new Bitcoin('myusername','mypassword','myip','8332''http');

$bitcoin->getinfo();

// You can do a small test here

$test $bitcoin->getinfo();
        echo
$test;

?>

.conf :

Code:
listen=1
maxconnections=15
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=myusername
rpcpassword=mypassword
rpcclienttimeout=60
rpcport=8332
rpcallowip=localhost or 127.0.0.1 (unless you want to query it from a remote computer, if so, just enter the ip address)

836  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology in apps development on: January 30, 2017, 03:37:58 PM
i have seen here in many topics the ANN  of aplications developments using the blockchain technology as a support(base) of the site or app developed. But i dont understand what is behind this and how blockchain tech can be used for this pourpuse. Can someone explain to me  in general terms??

A blockchain can be seen as a great database with many functionnalities, and really maleable, so if you have the required knowledge, you can ask a blockchain do to what ever you want.
Nowadays we have several blockchain types :

- C/C++/C# blockchains : Bitcoin, Litecoin, Blackcoin, altcoins, shitcoins.
- Go : Ethereum, Ethereum classic.
- JavaScript : Lisk, WAVES (i guess)
- Java : NXT, Ardor

And i am sure there are some more of them, there is even an AI powered blockchain who is slowly borning.
So, as long as you have the ideas, and the knowledge, sky is the limit, you can do what ever you dream to.

Now regarding algos, i don't know if someone created a blockchain without Algo or need to proof of something, but there are some great algos here, and proofs, SlimeCoin is ProofOfBurn and ProofOfWork, and ProofofStake, there are many more proofs, it is up to you to determine the most suitable one for your project.

I conclude saying that, get the knowledre, the rest will comme by itself.
ive got a basic idea,but when you mean like a db with many functionalities, what kind of, beacause as i far as i understand never mind the blockchain(bitcoin ethereum) what is contained in it in information realated with the block and its transactions, for validating new txs and so on(at less that there are more information that i dont know right now in the blockchain) haw can this information be used with for that..

The basic idea is that as long as you have a database and a programme who can fetch and use the gathered and stored informations in the database, then you can do what you want with it.
Just a question, are you familiar with web development ?
If yes, then it is the same, except that it is built with annother language, with extended features and capacities defined by the programmer.

838  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: can anyone trace any relation between two Adress . on: January 26, 2017, 07:27:21 PM
Let us consider I am using HD wallet of myscellium or blockchain ( new version ) .
Now , if I will use mainly two adress of my wallet regularly .
then is it possible to give or find relation between those two ( it is to be noticed that I will never made transaction between these two adress , mean to each other )

- snip -
is it possible to give or find relation between those two
- snip -

That really depends on the wallet you use, how you use it, and how much you want to hide the connection between the addresses.

Most wallets will occasionally simultaneously spend bitcoins that were received at both addresses when you create a transaction to send some bitcoins.  This transaction can then be traced back to see what addresses the bitcoins were previously received at.  Anyone doing this analysis will therefore have a strong indication that a single entity has access to BOTH private keys (which in your case means the addresses both belong to a single person, you).

With a lot of care, this can be avoided by using coin control.  Another way to avoid it is to use 2 separate wallets.

Note that it really doesn't make sense to re-use addresses.  An address should be used ONCE, and then never used again.  Too many people think of a bitcoin address as an "account number".  It isn't. And it isn't intended to be.  A bitcoin address is more like an invoice number. It is a way to determine who send you a payment and when.  Invoice numbers certainly could be re-used, but why would you? It would just make a mess of your payment tracking and wouldn't benefit you in any way.

Re-using bitcoin addresses reduces your anonymity and privacy, reduces the anonymity and privacy of the people you transact with, and slightly reduces your security.

This may be the best answer, now if you want some tips on how to manage your addresses in order not be traced back just use these :
- How to import private keys
- Address generator

With these you will be able to manage addresses, or if it is too complicated you can use coin controle or a bitcoin daemon to manage the coins, it is the same as coin controle, but with deeper controle, and without GUI.
839  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How can I install bitcoin wallet api for dice site on: January 26, 2017, 07:16:45 PM
May be better if you use an API like blockr API, or, as said cloverme, run your own node and query it using JSON.
Once you have a bitcoin core running (bitcoin core, node, daemon, all the same) then just send JSON requests using either PHP or JavaScript, if you use PHP you should install php-curl, if you use JavaScript, maybe Ajax requests are the solution, but it depends, on everyone's likehood.
Then, you can add some scripts who will process bitcoins for account management, for example you can set a "walletnotify" in bitcoin.conf, who will notify a .sh script, who will trigger a .php script, who will order the required changes in both database and full node, or only full node, it is as you like, but i think that you will need a database.
It is easy to think about, but can be tricky when you want to do it.
840  Other / Archival / Re: [Service] Escrow Service | New Escrow by nemgun | No Fees on: January 25, 2017, 06:39:20 PM
Thank you a lot for your answer, there is aleready a long time since i am here
While you have yet to make a reputation or contribute to the forum in a helpful way
it is not a question of rank, or trust, it is just that i want to offer my services to the community.
Actually yes, yes it is. If any random full member account was to be permitted starting an escrow service, there'd been dozens of scams with bought accounts by now.

I once again repeat, if you do not lock this thread/stop this service , you will be neg-tagged.

As for the identity confirmation, it makes it even more suspicious as you apparently are freely distributing them like candy where your personal information may be used for unethical/illegal acts.

Thank you for the Tips, if you noticed i tagged my pictures, ranks are only representative of the amount of time spent on the forum, it doesn't means that i am unexperienced in any domain concerned, or that i can't detect a scam. Just to tell you, i found a lot of projects escrowed by famous guys in the forum, but most of them ended as scam projects. Why these projects was scam ? because of the reputation of the escrow, the higher it is, the higher will be the investment, this is how everyone thinks here, while i know projects who was legit, but because of the low reputation of the escrow they were unable to achieve the minimum goal, and failed.
The black coin did an ICO on icostart.com while the developper is very reputed, rat4, they raised 1 btc only. icostart.com is now closed, but they held a lot of ICOs for scam coins, like brexitcoin, staketoken (with 10k%), chilicoin, pumpgroupcoin,  and so on, most of them are dead.
This means that an escrow have nothing to do with the reliability of a project, for now i target small projects/transactions, or logical projects with realistic goals, viable business plan including financial forecasts and realistic financial data, and roadmap.
When i intergrated bitcointalk, it was with my knowledge in company management, accounting, marketing, as a ceo, as a developper also (one of my passions) while people here is mostly refering to the connection time in the forum, so in the end i don't really know what these can do regarding project realisation, development, release, maintenance.
If anyone needs help for anything and i am able to help, i will, i did it, and i will continiue.
Thank you for your posts, you bring me inside out.
