841  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Current Best USB Miner on Market on: December 18, 2014, 11:42:28 AM
If you are talking about a pure USB miner bitmain is probably your best bet. Rockminers are usb as well but require external power sources
842  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: December 18, 2014, 11:40:48 AM
I agree the concept and potential of bitcoin is endless. It is an international universal currency that is decentralized. The hardest part for bitcoin though is consumer education and the learning curve. Many people have heard of bitcoin whether it be in the news or from friends however they have little interest in it since they do not fully understand its use/potential. Even a lot of the companies that adopt it are just converting to fiat and use bitcoin for profit. For bitcoin to be successful it would need a major event like an ETF in the US stock market.
843  Economy / Speculation / Re: The world must of turned upside down on: December 17, 2014, 12:38:17 PM
I was not willing to buy at 1200 but I was at 500. I still have some from 500 and some I bought at around 350. I do not feel like investing anymore fiat money into bitcoin but instead I have been using that bitcoin for investment purposes and have multiplied it. Although any profits I gain are negated for the most part by the downward decline of bitcoin price :/. I find it as a good hobby now but I will not invest anymore fiat into it even if it drops to 200. At some point you have to say enough is enough.
844  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2015 is the year of BITCOIN ! on: December 17, 2014, 03:45:18 AM
2015 can not possibly be much worse for bitcoin than 2014 so can only look up. 2014 bitcoin was on the constant decline from 1000 all the way down to around 300. % wise I doubt 2015 can be worse hopefully we stabilize in 2015 somewhere in the middle around 500 I would be happy  Grin (of course lets keep the difficulty plateau too!)
845  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (1GH/S per Unit) on: December 17, 2014, 03:40:24 AM
how do you think is it still worth to invest in here a little or is it way too late ?  Smiley Roll Eyes
Avoid this asset at all costs.  Far better out there with far less unscrupulous behavior.

I agree I was with Petamine a month or so ago for a short period and made a small profit but the payouts are so unpredictable its hard to calculate a good buy and sell point. There are so much better options out there even on havelock AMHASH is a much better play.
846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recovery program beginning in January for PB Mining customers. on: December 17, 2014, 01:15:18 AM
Publicity will be nice but not sure how effective it will be to get our money back but at least something will be done. I would be happy as long as justice is served to the company and any involved even if the money is never returned.
847  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to get private key of a coinbase account? on: December 17, 2014, 12:41:56 AM
I believe they mentioned you can get the private key of the vault if you choose to use that service. They stated several times you do not get wallet address private keys due to security reasons

Update on my profile

Your original post says you have a 15 day warranty in case the card becomes "invalid". Does this mean the warranty in case the card gets zeroed out is only 15 days? Not sure what invalid means exactly
849  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: December 16, 2014, 09:13:03 PM
when is the AMHASH 3 ipo period expected to end?
when its sold out or on 1/10/2015

that is probably why people will pay a slightly higher price its worth it being able to cash out whenever you want as opposed to 1/10/15 since most likely the IPO will not end sooner.
850  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 20$ amazon gift card for sale (US Only) on: December 16, 2014, 09:10:06 PM
I will send first, or use escrow, no problem.. But not for 5$ for sure. At least 15$

Do you have any proof on how it was obtained? Legitimacy is the main concern here. People value their amazon accounts especially if they pay for prime.
851  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit coin is on a down hill slope on: December 16, 2014, 09:09:10 PM
1.) Big corporations are adopting Bitcoin. Tigerdirect, Overstock, Paypal, and Microsoft now accepts Bitcoin. These companies are likely set up to automatically cash out in USD with prices set in USD to minimize risk. This means that when you purchase something with Bitcoin this creates sell pressure which helps drive the price of Bitcoin down.
Usage on those services is tiny. Overstock did $3M in Bitcoin business in 2014. Paypal and Microsoft accept Bitcoin only for some very limited purposes. TigerDirect accepts Bitcoin mostly as an old promotion; their Bitcoin page is trying to sell obsolete Radeon GPUs for Bitcoin mining. (They're out of stock on their sale of old Butterfly Labs units.)

$3M is not that small especially since people panic and it can lead to a domino effect. And overstock is one of the smaller companies that accept bitcoin compared to tigerdirect and now microsoft. If it catches on the sell pressure might be greater.

Anyway I am sad and kinda also wondering why the price is dropping. I do not think its the overstock news and It should have had a sustained increase due to microsoft's bitcoin policy (although it is limited).
852  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: December 16, 2014, 09:05:08 PM
I went from Umisso on S3 to minimize the risks from decline bitcoin

how are you likeing the s3 do they provide better results in your opinion compared to umisoo? I thought umisoo and s3 was the same payouts and so forth for some reason

S3 has less of a maintenance but also seems to provide slightly higher hashrate than what you buy like I owned 1485 gh and it was actually closer to 1520 by the 24 hour avg.  I can not justify the higher cost (might not be worth it) but it seems it would be smarter due to higher maintenance as bitcoin price decreases.
853  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: poloniex.com is cheater site. Do not trade on poloniex.com on: December 16, 2014, 01:26:31 PM
I hope poloniex is not a scam I have not tried to withdraw anything yet and just recently started using it. They are the only site that have altcoins like clams at the moment.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: December 16, 2014, 12:39:16 PM
Does my BTC I had invested on Just-Dice on May 12th count?

Not really.

There were hundreds of thousands of JD deposit addresses, one per account, but almost all of them were empty almost all the time. I regularly swept the hot wallet into the cold wallet (which was a single address) and used the remaining coins to service withdrawals. So when the snapshot was taken only a few received CLAMs. And I swept those back in July I think.

Hundreds of thousands of JD deposit addresses could have (if you disregard logic) netted JD with thousands of BTC

Some bitcoin sites keep the bitcoin on the personal addresses for longer times so they would have a lot of CLAM. The CLAM developers probably created tens of thousands of addresses before launching.

Could be related to the tens of thousands of addresses that were sent 1 satoshi earlier this year too...

Has to be above the "dust" to get CLAMS.

What's the "dust level limit"? Can't find that info anywhere on CLAM's site.

I think I read it was 0.00001=1000satoshis

If you knew about CLAM before it launched, you could have created 10,000 addresses that will receive CLAM only with 1BTC taking into account the transaction fee. 46,000CLAM has a value of 300BTC.

You would have to have some far sight since it was a snapshot back in May 2014. And its only recently that the price spiked for CLAMS

856  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If you had 10K to invest would you mine Bitcoin? on: December 15, 2014, 09:01:10 PM
Mining if equipment is bought at a good price as well as cheap electricity rates can be profitable now since difficulty has plateau and is on the slight decline. Cloud mining is also an option.
857  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $25 Starbucks gift card for only $5 on: December 15, 2014, 06:00:25 PM
Why are you guys bumping this thread with useless stuff like +1. If you have been around the forums at all you know bitpolarbob make separate posts and its first come first serve he wont PM people and sell privately that is just not how he operates. Now like the rest of us we like to watch his threads to get good deals its annoying to see his threads get bumped up and its sold out.
858  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 12k, Should I start mining? on: December 15, 2014, 05:58:25 PM
IF your looking for an interesting hobby go for it mining is not bad (S3s or S4s or if you are putting it in the garage a spondoolie). Profitability wise it is probably easier and better to invest in a cloud mining company that sells these miners such as hashnest (bitmain).
