841  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 3.5BTC donation to a charity on: September 01, 2013, 11:24:41 PM
Here's the situation, as someone who kindly PM'd me and let me know, this, even with escrow, is a scammable item. I'm certainly not accusing any of you of being scammers, but the basic idea is that someone could pay for the donation with a stolen credit card, and since I'm not getting a physical item and only a receipt, then the chargeback can occur without me knowing (aka not receiving the item). So... anyone know of either (a) a way around this, or (b) a charity (of any sort at this point, my searches haven't found much) that accepts Bitcoins directly?

Edit: additionally, would a Hero/mod be interested in doing this donation?
842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: please create NVIDIA-only Coin on: September 01, 2013, 04:42:32 PM
Based on future folding@home and other cloud computing developments, NVidia cards may be an effective way to acquire CureCoin. Smiley

Call the humane society and see if they take walk in donations, and if they give a receipt. Just pay with cash...send a picture of The receipt..

Sure, if you'll pay my flight from Tokyo to the US I'd do that  Grin

xD Do they have a human society in Japan?

HSI international seems to take PayPal.  That would protect my CC details.   How about I donate to them, give u the recipt and u forward coins?   Might work.

That sounds good, are you happy working with John K for escrow?
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: September 01, 2013, 01:40:18 AM
I've decided on the last date to donate: >1 BTC donations before or on September 2nd will get the beta!

So people basically get to see that the miner works before donating? That's nice Smiley
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: September 01, 2013, 12:24:38 AM
I just wanted to apologize for overall being an asshole.

I'm sure explanation is not necesarry.

Have a good day, and good luck.

Wow, I'm surprised, you seemed like you had a vendetta against him. Good job on taking responsibility and apologizing Smiley

On another note it looks like Mtrlt is playing the donation card. I tried to get mine back because I no longer have any significant gpu power and his response was "So you want a donation back?". I think that's lame, it's obvious that the vast majority of the "donaters" were actually paying for early access. I know I know, it was a risk I took but that doesn't mean refusing to give back what for all intents and purposes was a payment isn't lame. It would be nice if he would man up and just send me the BTC back.

Maybe he would transfer someone into your place, so you could sell your spot and they would get the beta instead of you...?

850  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Poll] Burnins BitFury miner on: August 30, 2013, 02:39:28 AM
Out of necessity a new thread for a new product:
I want to test the waters if you would be interested in such a board

The Bitfury design i am working on is a 16 Chip board with the same form factor as the BitBurner.
I think it makes sense that i will sell boards including the chips now - no more group buys.

Best demonstrated performance per chip is currently 2.7Ghash resulting in 42ghash/s per board.
I am aiming for 5 Ghash per chip, i will be doing things differently then the competition which will hopefully
allow us to squeeze more performance out of this silicon.
Host interface and Controller / stacking will stay the same.

Price: ~470eur+vat (Complete module including chips)
Delivery: early October if Punin delivers on time.

So, we're talking like 7 Eur/GH in October assuming you can get chips to 5GH/s? Sounds awesome Cheesy Any guesses about power consumption considering the chips would be at 5GHz? Smiley

Ok, I think I got it.

I can send you a virtual visa egift card that is like a digital visa card with a balance.   You can use that to donate directly.  See here for details. http://www.giftcards.com/virtual-gift-cards

Let me know if you want to give it a shot.

cheers.

Hey, that sounds like a good plan! Yeah, totally see your point about the receipt, personal details are,,,, well, personal xD

Anyhow, giftcard seems like a good idea, I'm gonna look into that one tomorrow, and I'll let you know if I want to go that route. Thanks!!
854  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 3.5BTC donation to a charity on: August 29, 2013, 02:54:30 AM
Looks simple enough.   Want me to go through with it.   I'll have to put my name on all the details though as I'm sure they need it to match the CC details.  But you want me to put your email address right?

EDIT:  Just realised that if I put your email address, they will send you a receipt with my CC, Name and Identify information on it, i.e. address etc.   I'll do this if I can use my own email address, black out my info and forward you the receipt.   Worst case you should be able to use the receipt to call them up and verify a donation was in fact made.

Oh, didn't think of it doing that.... Hmm...

I'll look into it a bit, I wonder if there is a donation 'gift' of sorts, like you gift a donation to someone type thing maybe? Or like donating in someone else's name? Hmm..
855  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTB] 3.5BTC donation to a charity on: August 29, 2013, 02:29:51 AM
I want to donate to the Humane Society, however they don't accept Bitcoins. Is there a way for someone to prove that they paid for a human society donation? If they give like an email saying you donated x amount, etc. that could be donated using an email of mine?

Basically, I would pay you 3.5BTC, you would donate USD: $450 to the humane society. An easy way for you to acquire some bitcoins with, effectively, a credit card, and a good way for me to spend cryptos doing something good. Smiley

Is anyone interested in doing this..?? Cheesy
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Curecoin beta pool test - user limit lifted - Lets hit the Mile Stone 1200R on: August 28, 2013, 12:22:05 PM
I'm still confused as to how curecoin will contribute to folding.  Will the algo be folding or what?

Good question! Basically, the algorithm would be scrypt and people would mine the coin normally, but the person who mines the coin only gets 45% of the coin, 45% goes to a pool that pays out coins to people doing folding work, and the other 10% works towards things like DDoS protection for the folding 'pool', NVidia hardware giveaways, etc. etc. Smiley
857  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] In-Hand 60GH/s Single SC BFL: 35BTC+free overnight shipping USA* on: August 28, 2013, 04:07:50 AM
Oh, and even though it took some time to ship, gotta compliment BFL on it being a well-furnished product. Cool EasyMiner software (though I prefer BFGMiner, tbh), solid piece of hardware, but the noise is a bit annoying. Yes, to add to the deal, you also get to put up with a fairly noisy (like a scrypt-mining GPU rig with slight coil whine....?) black box! But damn, the texture on that plastic.........

I'm really not helping to sell this xD. I just don't want to feel like I shortchanged someone or scammed them out of money, so I gotta make sure they know exactly what they are buying. Works well, runs at almost exactly 60GH/s (59.87 avg, during the Summer heat....), loud, most likely won't ROI on 35BTC, certainly is fun. Cool case texture, not a great space heater. Great for someone who wants to mine as a pricy hobby, bad for someone who expects to make money. It'll certainly earn me more than I paid for it if I mined with it, but I highly doubt it will crack 30BTC in its lifetime, 25 would make me very happy. Someone buying at 35 hopefully has very cheap electricity Tongue

New version of the shoe on head? xD

actually i wasnt being sarcastic...  Embarrassed

lol. can you pm me with an image proving you have it in hand? give me the finger in it or something. lol

Oh xD I would feel kinda bad selling you this, knowing you won't ROI, but I'll post the image in OP Smiley

Edit: Hmm.... image looks kinda photoshopp-ish. I'll still post it, but anyone serious about buying this just ask me and I'll point the 60GH/s at a pool of your choice for an hour or so. Smiley

Hey keenan, how's it going? Unfortunately not really interested in a titan, though I sense a hint of sarcasm xD
