861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does ethics count in winning/gambling. on: March 29, 2018, 06:08:50 PM
I am not a sportsman, not by a long shot. I am a recreational gambler who bets for fun. Gambling is like a hobby to me with the added perk of winning some cash here and there. However, there are very competitive people out there, professional athletes and even amateurs and hobbyists, for whom winning is everything. Would you, for example, bet on a fixed match knowing you are going to defraud the sportsbook? Or your ethics and conscience wouldn't let you do it? Surely, free money could be a very strong factor for persuasion. Winning + winning money at that is a very strong combination.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is officially banned in China !!! on: March 29, 2018, 09:15:42 AM
Good riddance! Now that Facebook and Google are putting a stop to the ICO ads as well I am finally free from reading about these useless run-of-the-mill-not-good-for-anything coins on a daily basis. ICO's are pure scam projects whose big promises for changing the world go up in smoke not long after the 'devs' have completed their investment quota.
863  Other / Off-topic / Re: Solution to overcome panic on: March 29, 2018, 08:23:49 AM
Well I am gonna use the famous gambling cliche bet only what you can afford to lose and slightly change it into only invest what you can afford to lose. With Bitcoin, you simply never know. People who bought in at $15k would be panic selling at $7500 and that's a perfectly normal reaction if they, for example, got loans or sold properties to pony up the cash for the 'get-rich-quick' Bitcoin dream. I for one will be keeping an eye on the price and try to pick up some cheap coins before the roller coaster launches skyward again and hope for a nice chunk of profit. Only time will tell haha.

So in a nutshell:

Only invest what you can afford to lose
Buy low sell high
Hold your stash long-term

Cheers Wink

First off, Keylor Navas is a Costa Rican and as such plays for the Costs Rica national football team. He is not from Croatia and definitely wouldn't be allowed to play for their national team, dude  Grin Secondly, odds tend to change more rapidly closer to the start of the match when the majority of the players are getting their bets in. So, sometimes, it's better to get your bets in very early in order to catch better odds on the favorites for example. Alternatively, wait a little bit more to get better odds on the underdogs  Wink
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: March 29, 2018, 06:51:30 AM
Uefa have introduced some new rules for the Champions league and Europa league from next season. They most notable one is that players who undergo January tranfer can still play in the knockout phase of the competition even though they have played for a different club in the group stages, which is before the January transfer window.

More here: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43555381

Rumors also say that there is an idea that uefa will change the old rule of the player turnover. Substitution of players generally can only be done 3 times only for 2 times 45 minutes. While the rumor will be added to 4 times. Anyway, this is still a rumor, we just wait for the rest.

It's not a rumour, guys. The upcoming regulation have been posted on the official UEFA website so I think it's pretty much confirmed that the new rules are set in stone. You could read more about the changes here: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2546985.html#/

From the 2018/19 season, a fourth substitute listed on the match sheet may take part in knockout matches exclusively during extra time. This will not affect the other three substitutions.

How would one know if they got the price boost or not from the matches you listed above before they started if you bet on them?
I think the Svitolina one was 1.20x odds before the match when I looked but how would you know after you bet you are getting the boosted price?

By comparing the odds with the ones at another sportsbook obviously? What a stupid question is this for real lol  Grin No one is forcing you to bet if you are suspicious of the odds. You have a brain use it  Roll Eyes

How are the Chinese getting away with their similarly sounding copycat branding? They are legally selling copycat products in direct competition with the companies they are copying from. What's the difference between BitcoinPenny/BitcoinNastyPenny and, for example, Nokia/Nokla or RedBull/RidBull or StarBucks/StarFucks?

Why is that? Steam bans accounts with game keys obtained through illegal ways.

Game Protect is spamming his links to his website to gain free traffic off Bitcointalk. I think he is more interested in helping himself than any 'victims'. I guess he gotta eat too.

I am sorry for derailing the Sportsbet thread with daily nonsense but unfortunately we must entertain the village idiot....
