anyone have exprience with  auto buy  for these  pac man contracts. how that go.  how does it even work.

The autobuy just reinvests the payout back into the PACMiC to increase your hashrate.  You won't actually be paying down the balance on the principal if you select this option.

Running some simulations, I am getting about 3.25% APR on these contracts.  Not very good at all.  That is by far the lowest they have every offered.

EDIT: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zbKKyXtW0vcfGDufk_UIRg_gAi0JzjsFwvB7LGj8bOI/edit?usp=sharing

3.25% s not good, there is risk involved and I would not touch this for this low amount of APR.

Yea, now that is a rough calc, its been pretty close on other others, except for V4, which it was way off because difficulty spiked up a LOT.  It also doesn't take into account whether the investment will pay everything back or not, it just assumes you will get paid back.  So yea, lots of risk, not that high of a reward, I will probably stay away from this one.

I thought taxes only had to be paid once you converted the bitcoins.  any insight?

You need to provide more information than that.  What you wrote is too vague to give an answer to.  Also keep in mind that 99% of the idiots on here are spouting complete nonsense and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [help] looking for advice on building my new rig on: November 10, 2016, 01:22:29 PM
i usually go with a open frame(by the look of that site it seems that you want a standard gaming rig to mine..), h81 pro btc, g1840, 8GB ddr3 sniper, 120GB ssd, rm1000i and 6 x risers

then you simply choose nvidia or amd

Easy enough, and a good list.  When that stuff arrives though, I need (I assume Linux) operating system on it, is there a good guide on how to get that set up and running?

EDIT: Also, with the EVGA 1300W, it has 6 8 pin slots.  How do you power 6 cards if they need 2 connections each?  Or do most cards just have 1 8 pin connector?

yeah that issue is a pain in the ass, in fact recently i only choose gpu that have only 1 8 pin or 6 pin, to avoid buying bmore cable, since no psu out there come with 6 x 6+8pin or six 2x8pin

Yea that seems easier, any advice on how to get an operating system set up?

Very nice setup, I am looking into doing something similar, although probably on a smaller scale.  Is there a parts list that you can recommend?  I think the biggest issue for me right now is that it has been so long since I have been mining, I don't know the current ins and outs of mining hardware.  A guide on where and what to buy would be very helpful Smiley
867  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] GPUs & Motherboards w/ Picture (Many Models Available) on: November 05, 2016, 02:57:18 AM
I am looking to get back into GPU mining.  That is quite the selection you have there, I was wondering if the MOBO's were available with RAM, CPU, and/or hard drives?

May I ask how much funding your in need of?  Would you consider taking a funding partner on?
869  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara Physical Bitcoins/HAVEN: Update on: October 24, 2016, 06:13:58 PM
Tyler, thank you for the message!

My brother, Jarrett, is behind Haven, and I've been donating a portion of my sales to help build and install the hives/sculptures. His work has always been a great source of inspiration for me. http://www.jarrettmellenbruch.com

The first hive funded through my sales (thanks to you and others) was installed several weeks ago and I'll share photos soon. It's located at the Lakeside Nature Center in Swope Park (the crown jewel of the KC Parks system) A second hive is complete and waiting installation. https://deepecologyproject.com

I do have more Kialara projects in the works as well. Look for an email from me next Monday morning  Wink

Love Swope Park, work just a couple minutes from there, down at the plaza.  Beautiful place to visit and a very fun golf course to play.  Keep up the good work Smiley

874  Economy / Lending / (WTB) Looking to Borrow 3.5 Btc on: October 11, 2016, 05:38:56 PM
Hello,

I am looking to borrow 3.5 btc to facilitate my localbitcoins sales.  I will have the bitcoins back in 8 days, and am looking at a interest rate of 2%, so I will repay 3.57 btc within 8 days time.

I am happy to sign a message from the same address that I have used to take numerous loans from Quickseller of up to 5 btc from, unfortunately he has had to take a small hiatus from lending.

Please let me know if you can make this happen.

Thanks,

DebitMe
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about this for a winning run ($7600 made this evening) on: October 06, 2016, 02:57:34 PM
So is this over? Did he end up losing everything or converting it to another currency?
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danger when buying/selling BTC in person on: September 28, 2016, 01:52:26 AM
So i was reading an article about someone who got robbed when he tried to buy in person 28000$ of Bitcoin
http://www.coindesk.com/florida-bitcoin-sale-knifepoint-robbery/
Personally i avoid dealings like this cause it is not easy to trust a random stranger.
How about you?do you buy or sell bitcoins in person? If yes have you ever had any bad experiences?
I have done face to face trades in the past, but carrying 28k in cash with you? Who does that? That is just asking for trouble, if you want to do a trade I think is better to do several smaller trades than a single big trade.
Even being just 500 dollars of cash the fact you are exposing the person might hunt you or follow you till your house, exchanges do the best service when we talk to buy or sell bitcoin soo why would we need to expose and risk our security this way.
The ones that do face to face trades do so in order to retain some degree of anonymity, if you buy in an exchange then the exchange knows how much bitcoin you bought, however buying bitcoin face to face does not offer guarantees that the trade is anonymous after all there are cameras everywhere and the fact the trade could be a sting operation.

If your not doing anything illegal, who cares if its a sting operation?  I do nothing illegal by selling bitcoins to people in KS.

Still no new PACMIC contracts up yet? I really wish they would bring these back.

They have not launched these contracts and S9s yet?  It has been a long time.

Yea, its really weird.  Almost like they are more interested in other things.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danger when buying/selling BTC in person on: September 27, 2016, 02:59:01 AM
I am averaging about 100 trades a month in person with various people in my area.  99% have been nothing but a pleasure to work with, and are extremely nice people, the other 1% just seem to be having an off day.  No one has ever made me feel insecure or worried during a meetup.

Hello guys, not getting good response from here. Where are all the btc sellers?? Contact me. I need btc in bulk.

I am a very large bitcoin seller, but you are not answering questions.  How are you planning to pay for these bulk bitcoin purchases?
