861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin or litecoin ? on: May 02, 2018, 12:31:28 PM
Well? Let's hear it.

Bitcoin, of course. I don't think Litecoin will be able to beat the top cryptocurrency of all time. Litecoin is just created out of sheer interest and belief in the idea that built Bitcoin. In this sense, Bitcoin is the original version of Litecoin. Of course, in terms of investment I would also include Litecoin in my list but if I were to choose only one between the two, I would go for Bitcoin.
862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The wave of cutting tax for Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency in Europe on: May 02, 2018, 10:34:24 AM
Such good development for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and such good strategy for France and other European countries. Before, countries are not accepting Bitcoin openly. And then comes the time when Bitcoin was gradually allowed, albeit regulated in some. Now comes the time when countries are offering several incentives and breaks for cryptocurrency and Bitcoin-related businesses to enter their jurisdictions. More positive developments to come for sure.
863  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Money or Currency on: May 02, 2018, 09:01:07 AM
mon·ey (noun)

- a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
---

cur·ren·cy read as ˈkərənsē (noun)

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?

Let us take a look at Bitcoin based on your given definitions of money and currency. Bitcoin is not money in the sense that it is not being represented by a physical version such as coins or banknotes. Neither it is a currency since it is not used in a particular country. However, your given definitions seem to be too strict. If we consider money and currency broadly, Bitcoin may fall into the two categories. Money could simply be understood as a medium of exchange and currency a system of money. Bitcoin as a digital currency or money is both a medium of exchange and a system.
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taking Courses to learn about Bitcoin on: May 01, 2018, 03:08:40 AM
Has anyone taken a course online on sites like Udemy to learn about bitcoin? I just received a coupon to enroll in a bitcoin course for free. Would it be worth the time?
If anyone has any experience, do share.

If it's for free then why not grab it? That opportunity I believe will not come all the time. I guess they are not offering the same to a lot of people. That must be a wonderful experience taking up a course on Bitcoin when most of us here are only either self-learning about Bitcoin or talking about it with friends with experience. If I were you I would not hesitate to get myself enrolled.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding is bullshit? on: May 01, 2018, 01:53:48 AM
I hold 3 coins espers-(3 years),insane-(2 years),html - (5 years) Shocked and price is the same....no moon ....I dont trust to holding anymore,any suggestions?

Perhaps we are hodling different coins. That is why we are also having different opinions on the value of hodling. But I guess there are much more people who are satisfied with hodling rather than those who are complaining against it. The top coins used to be very cheap but they are very expensive already as of this time. Perhaps that would explain the value of hodling.

868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How far can Bitcoin go? on: April 29, 2018, 11:26:31 AM
Bitcoin can even go to the trillions in USD. That is highly expected. Bitcoin has already went beyond 200 billion in USD. That is already high but not yet the fullest and the highest point. Let us just say it went up at 200 billion USD at its highest, that means if the price of Bitcoin will multiply by a mere 5 times, then its market cap is already within the trillion mark.

870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold on: April 28, 2018, 01:27:17 PM
In certain aspects, Bitcoin is indeed better than gold. Gold does not grow as high as a thousand percent growth in a year. Bitcoin has been doing that amazing growth for a long time. Bitcoin is also better since it is not only growing in value but can also be used as a decentralized payment. However, gold is also better than Bitcoin in that its value has remained stable for a long time.

I cannot measure all of my earnings. I guess it is also roughly that amount as yours in average. Like you, I am also a translator and moderator. I translate Whitepapers, ANN Threads, Bounty Threads, and One-pager in the Filipino language and my portfolio of finished translations is already long. However, I admit that I have not yet received a really good deal of money out of it.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Green days are coming for bitcoin on: April 28, 2018, 12:10:28 PM
I am expecting the green days to occur in the late weeks of the first quarter of the year 2018. The previous year also saw the flying of Bitcoin and altcoins around the month of May so I am expecting a somewhat similar trend. If that does not happen, then I know everyone is more than willing to wait for the entry of the third quarter of the year for a certain pump.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is King.. why is it?! on: April 27, 2018, 02:20:18 PM
Bitcoin is king on very solid grounds. It is the beginning of the whole wide world of cryptocurrency. If cryptocurrency will soon replace fiat, that would be a very amazing thing to happen. And to a very significant extent, it happens because of Bitcoin. Of course, as new technologies develop and progress more and more, new versions are born. However, tracing their roots will always lead to the one and only Bitcoin.
874  Local / Pamilihan / Re: An interview with Colin Goltra of Coins.ph on: April 27, 2018, 01:00:05 PM
I am one of the so many Filipinos who are using coins.ph.

878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MyEtherWallet Succumbs to DNS Attack with $ 17 million stolen on: April 25, 2018, 11:04:44 AM

Popular Ethereum wallet interface MyEtherWallet has succumbed to a DNS hijacking attack that allowed a hacker to redirect users to a malicious version of the website.

The MEW confirmed that this was not their fault and was trying their best to identify the attacked server to fix things as soon as possible.
This topic is rapidly spreading on the Reddit forum. The attacking IP address seems to come from Russia. At the time of writing, 25,000 ETH ($ 17 million) has been stolen.

It is highly recommend that everyone be careful when using the MEW wallet and follow the security instructions by MEW wallet. In other words, you are advised to integrate Metamask into login and make direct transactions via Metamask. If you want to check your balance, visit https://etherscan.io/, which means you do not have to log into MyEtherwallet.com anymore, so you will avoid the hidden potential risk here.

Rothscoin team.

Hackers are everywhere these days. And many of them are going into the world of cryptocurrency, knowing that there is so much money in there. This is not a good incident. This might cause potential cryptocurrency investors to once again question the safety measures used by cryptocurrency wallets, especially online ones.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the government ban bitcoin? on: April 25, 2018, 10:29:15 AM
Bitcoin has been announced since the day it was invented, and it will be suppressed by governments in the future and declared illegal currency. Is the basis, the further development of the currency will be in the interests of the threat to traditional monetary and ruler, not the rights to cryptography currency once governments announced that the currency is illegal, its price will produce volatile in the short term, and may even crash. At the same time, the government will force the bitcoin exchange to be shut down, so that bitcoin can only be sold in private, and its exchange capacity will be badly hit. Will the government ban bitcoin?

I do not agree with many of your points. Bitcoin has been banned in several countries. That is true. But it is also legal in some other countries. That makes the equation balance. But the fact is that Bitcoin is legal in so many advanced countries. In fact, among the countries composing the G20, which we all know are composed of the most advanced countries in the world, only a handful declared Bitcoin illegal.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization bitcoin on: April 25, 2018, 12:51:08 AM
when will legalization bitcoin? why this does not happen? are there any countries that have legalized bitcoin?
or already somehow now it is possible to legalize the income received from Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is already legal in some countries. However, there are also other countries where Bitcoin is not legally accepted. Some countries also have their own restrictions to Bitcoin but not really to the point of banning it. There are actually different approaches taken by different countries toward Bitcoin. It my belief however that there will come a time when all these countries will legalize Bitcoin.
