881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC not received. First time user. on: January 21, 2021, 07:07:34 PM
Have you sent BTC to this address- bc1qdyxc2hx23ncp4jc4z0wgv98dvvsrs6f8h9n4jk
According to the tx id, the address has received the BTC and tx was confirmed. Which wallet the receiver is using, by the way? It’s possible that the wallet isn’t synced yet.
882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long before Greyscale start dumping? on: January 21, 2021, 05:59:49 PM
How long are they holding the BTC?
Most importantly, we don't know what Grayscale exactly is and that’s where we are confused. Grayscale holding bitcoin, the source of money is their investors and the investors aren't directly investing in bitcoin. They are investing in the share of Grayscale bitcoin fund.
Therefore, selling bitcoin for Grayscale for profit isn’t something important I guess (I might be wrong in this though).

Thanks @ShowOff! Please post the thread link if you can.
Here's the thread of LoyceV vanity address giveaway aka Pretty Addy Giveaway- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1813624.0
And there are a few guideline through which you can generate vanity address by yourself if you have enough resources. Don't believe any Vanity Address generator services as they can hack your bitcoin although I would trust LoyceV.
884  Other / Meta / Re: 4000+ posts and 1 merit. 2021 version :) on: January 21, 2021, 05:01:47 PM
Theymos wouldn't do that, the forum has no intention of making merits a prerequisite to posting, and it'll be somewhat synonymous with the previously existed newbie jail, and Theymos has said he doesn't intend doing that again:
I didn’t mean to limit newbie. If anyone is here for years and have posted 500 times, they are not newbie anymore. But if they are still newbie with their rank, they certainly are spammer and should be limited in some ways I think. Nevertheless, it’s off topic here. I can start a thread.
885  Other / Meta / Re: 4000+ posts and 1 merit. 2021 version :) on: January 20, 2021, 08:07:23 PM
We just crossed 3M users, so let's see who's the most active in terms of posts Jr. Member with only 1 received merit?
This is not surprising considering that almost all of this user's message history consists of bounty reports.
Are you serious? I didn't check the profile though; having such huge number of bounty reports by a single user? How come?
Since we have a lot of such members without merit, why don't admin just step in and limit their account as they are confirmed spammer? For instance, if you are not receiving X number of merit within 100 posts/ or higher/lower, you will be considered as spammer and thus you are not allowed to post in the forum. I guess it would be a better solution.
886  Other / Archival / Re: .. on: January 20, 2021, 07:57:57 PM
Why pay such a high fee just to save a message on the blockchain?
Cause the block itself is a special one. Don't you like the #block 666666? I guess you did. We have seen such special messages from the very beginning of the block. Last time I remember the message of the first block after last halving was pretty interesting, "Last chance to buy below $10k." it was the message I guess.
This serves no purpose other than having fun in special block.
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot going to Kill Ethereum? on: January 20, 2021, 06:53:27 PM
I had almost of same question but later after watching few videos, I understood that it will not be the ether killing coin. Even Gavin too said that Polkadot isn’t going to replace Ethereum. It's kind of sideway for ETH.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange to wallet on: January 17, 2021, 07:26:16 PM
Are you planning on holding for a long time? If so, I would strongly recommend you to use the wallet for any coins instead of leaving them into exchange as you should know the reality in crypto; "Not your keys, not your coins." You can use MEW for ETH but I have no idea where ZIL can be stored. Maybe a multi-crypto wallet like Trust Wallet by Binance.
889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people hold 1 Bitcoin at the moment? on: January 17, 2021, 07:16:32 PM
You can't just assume that an address with 1 BTC means a person with 1 BTC. I have more than 1 BTC, but I never owned an >1 BTC UTXO or an address with multiple UTXO with a sum of 1 BTC. If a person buys Bitcoin continuosly and withdraws them to their wallet, they can very easily have far more than 1 BTC, but split across many UTXO. Also someone could store their coins on exchange and there's no way of knowing how much coins they own. I think it would be better to make a poll and get enough people to participate in it, it would be far more accurate than looking at addresses.
I guess you didn't read the whole thread but just the title. I intentionally wrote it people in the title; if you read the 2nd part of the question you will understand but in the 1st part, I have written addresses instead of people.
There's no way to count the exact number but you can have the real-time data for addresses which have been shared above and that's what I'm looking for.
890  Other / Meta / Re: [24h] Three Millionth User on: January 17, 2021, 07:05:10 PM
Congratulate everyone! We have finally crossed the 3 million registration mark!

It's very ironic, isn't it? Especially considering that this username was registered under number 2999999.  Cool
And hopefully Three Millionth User will answer soon on this thread .. Although I think it's someone's alt.
There were a few attempts I guess and someone saw this username and thought they were late to register the three millionth account. See the 2999998th user- 3 Millionth User
I planned earlier to register but forgot as I was busy with other things.
891  Economy / Service Discussion / How crypterium crypto debit card? on: January 17, 2021, 06:57:11 PM
Have you ever used any crypto card through which you can cash your crypto anywhere? Recently, I was searching for such services and come to know about crypterium. Have you ever used them? Would be grateful if you had shared the experience if any & how such services exactly operate the procedure? I have been excited to order one but I guess I should learn more before I do.
I just learnt that I can use the card without verification (although shipping address is kind of verification). That sounds interesting.
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How many people hold 1 Bitcoin at the moment? on: January 17, 2021, 06:26:58 PM
Is there any site which have a real-time update of how many addresses have 1 Bitcoin? It seems holding 1 BTC will be a very rare case in the near future. Even now, for most people, it's not that easy to have 1 BTC; it's ~$35k. Is there any site which have such data like-
No of addresses having 1 BTC
No of addresses having 2-10 BTC
etc.
It would be interesting to find out where you are exactly; I mean you are richer than X% people in term of having BTC  Cheesy
893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 box of pizza and a person who throw his hard drive on: January 17, 2021, 06:17:35 PM
Laszlo case is totally different; if he didn't do the tx, we would never possibly know who he is or never name him at all. That tx made him history. I had read an interview with him and he never seems disappointed with the tx.
But Howell! How could he throw away a drive which had such a huge amount of BTC? I don't think it's ever going to be possible to get the drive back.
894  Other / Meta / Re: [24h] Three Millionth User on: January 17, 2021, 05:54:28 PM
Who registered the three millionth account?
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Replace-By-Fee (RBF) an Child-Pays-For-Parent (CPFP) can speed up confirmati on: January 16, 2021, 06:58:35 PM
Nicely presented. Just sharing my one written on Child-Pays-For-Parent long ago- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5198274.0

Also, people can choose transaction not to support RBF even on electrum, this can be a mistake from a newbie
There are a number of reasons you may want to disable RBF. There are quite a few merchants which will accept zero confirmation transaction as long as RBF is disabled
Bitrefill accepts zero-confirmation tx only if RBF isn't enabled. The last time I used Bitrefill was a bad experience for this as I used to use RBF and didn't have enough fund to bump the fee.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: SSD external hard disk corrupted contain 70 BTC~! on: January 16, 2021, 06:36:30 PM
Do you think i have chance ? like logically , because it is encrypted.
Will you be able to decrypt it?
If so, I guess you have chances to fix the SSD and make it usable. In my country, I have seen one professional who has fixed more physically damaged drive (I assumed your SSD is far better). It would be good to know where do you live (share if you have no problem).
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry guys.. Bitcoin is not for our day-to-day transactions. on: January 16, 2021, 06:26:36 PM
This way I assume 1MB blocks are enough for bitcoins forever. Because people will save bitcoins and may spend it once in year or decade Cheesy.
I guess you are pointing the 1MB block size is a limitation of bitcoin which it is but; the size isn't limited to 1MB instead of 4 Virtual MB. On top of that, off-chain tx system like Lighting Network will have another effect and this limited blocksize won't matter anymore once LN have acceptance everywhere; LN isdesigned for making micropayments.
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Dying on: January 16, 2021, 06:17:36 PM
It's a false sense or understanding of most of the beginner level bitcoiner that we are killing bitcoin because we are taking bitcoin as an investment purpose only while it should be treated as currency only. It's our wrong expectation that BTC will replace fiat or will be used as currency only. I guess there's nothing wrong with taking it as an investment. GOLD has almost no usage other than being treated as a value store. So does bitcoin as well.
Nevertheless, the real usages of bitcoin are very high than most of our expectations or speculation. I have been using this as p2p currency for a very long time and a lot of people are doing that. Then, how are we killing it exactly?
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't send out coins blindly, do your research and check for reviews on: January 16, 2021, 05:57:48 PM
As far as I know, coinswitch isn't a scam exchange. Maybe there is something missing by the user or a bug in the system which is unlikely though. As you can see the user haven't added enough information in the post. He just have stated his coins have been gone. If it's a technical issue from coinswitch end, I guess it will take time for them to find what exactly happened, and later on they will sort out this.
900  Other / Beginners & Help / Total, Circulating, Max Supply on: January 15, 2021, 07:05:26 PM
I was checking some coins and found they have different amounts for all these three. Total supply, circulating supply and Maximum supply. I know circulating supply refers to the coin circulation, maximum supply refers to the max cap but what does it stand exactly for Total supply and what's the relation between circulating and total supply?
