881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: November 05, 2023, 09:11:55 AM
I'm surprised that most people have voted "Not me". Is it even true? I mean, unless you are a night guard at some warehouse, you can't gamble all the time, but have you guys never rolled a dice during your work? I mean, just for a minute or two, never? I'm not saying I'm doing it everyday, but once in two-three months I can find a minute to roll dice or spin a reel, or place a bet on a team I think should win. But it depends on the job, of course. I wouldn't be happy about my Uber driver making a bet during a taxi ride.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: November 05, 2023, 08:40:00 AM
Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

It’s very to become addicted to gambling or in almost everything if you don’t feel good out of it most importantly if you are still new on using it.

I think you meant to say "It’s very *hard to become addicted", and that is certainly true. If you feel no joy out of doing something, no joy ever, you just stop doing it (unless you are payed for that, of course).

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

Exactly, the taste of victory is what makes people hook on gambling because they can earn profit quickly while there’s a chance for them earn even more when they hit a lucky bet like on slot jackpot. Having an experience of small win while there’s a promising chance of higher profit makes gambling very addictive.

Well, it's addictive, but not very addictive, I would say. I mean, statistically most gamblers are not addicted, they are just doing it from time to time for their pleasure, not trying to chase even bigger wins after winning something.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: November 05, 2023, 07:49:50 AM
Its an interesting question, AI has beaten people in chess quite consistently I think.   On all time frames that is possible and yet people can still beat the chess computers its not a forgone conclusion exactly but vs the average certainly.   So in Poker could that same exact thing be true, that the average player has no chance vs AI.   Most people are making bad mistakes, taking too much risk on bad cards so I assume computers can quite often do better by being boring and playing the odds.

People can beat "chess computers" but not AIs. AI is certainly, 100%, better than humans in chess game. Because chess is a perfect information game, while poker is not. They say about poker that it is a game of imperfect information, and took about 30 years to build a computer that could beat human pros in poker.

~ I still think the computers would struggle with the bluff part, by purely following the rules unlike chess they might be worse off for being predictable in their gameplan.   AI is like putting a nice handle on an old spanner that was working before but the handle makes far nicer to use.

It's been solved. There are videos on YouTube about Pluribus bluffing and winning with that. But that's AI. Simple poker bots(or, you can call them "poker computers") are easy to beat, I used to do that myself.

Yesterday I won with a good multiplier on Tombstone RIP but, unfortunately, it looks like NoLimit City doesn't have the replay option.

I can show you how it happened with screenshots though.

217x of my bet. I love this slot. Its animation is amazing, don't, you guys, think? And sounds too. Sometimes I play slots just because of those things.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: November 04, 2023, 10:41:37 AM

If we are to track back how we all started with gambling, some of our stories will be funny because then we were young and things we then were not to be compared to how we behave now in gambling, children were mostly restricted from gambling, because of the requirements for money in other to gamble, you have your own privilege of gambling even when no one knows about that, but I wonder where you got your money from then to gamble Grin

Well, it was an equivalent to $2, that whole ticket price, and there were three of us, so it was like 70 cents
from each one of us. It was our lunch money, I guess. Smiley The funny part was that none of the three of us suggested to gamble again. We just won and moved on. What smart kids we were, huh? Smiley
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: November 04, 2023, 10:03:02 AM
~It doesn't matter that most women don't even want to gamble in those places in the first place. Those who want should be allowed to do so.
~ Sad true, but for those who are already liberated, they are enjoying the freedom where they can do what others can and they are enjoying the luxuries.

And there will be more and more countries like this in the future. Expect more of them women-oriented slots in the years to come. Actually, I don't know, are there any yet? What I see is a lot of men-oriented or gender-neutral ones, but none that are aimed specifically at women. Or, am I wrong?
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: November 04, 2023, 09:32:02 AM

I agree with you on that statement that being addicted to gambling will never bring you happiness. The negative consequences is often extend beyond the individual. Families can suffer as well, with spouses, children and other loved ones experiencing the emotional and financial fallout of a family member’s gambling addiction. So it's better to manage yourself and if you can't stop having an obsession in gambling, Seek a medical help because they know what is the best for you and they will tell you how you will cope up in that situation. Gambling can be a beneficial experience but just like other activities such as shopping, if done in an irresponsible way without knowing the limit, it can turn into a crippling addiction.

Shopping, eating, gaming ... There are lots of them activities that when done in a moderate fashion can be beneficial, but other wise, not so much. Just don't be greedy. Don't be like those for whom it's never enough of something they like. FFs, people, don't you know already that it's always ends up badly?
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: November 04, 2023, 09:02:59 AM
It is a very natural thing to bet and hope for luck, although it is still not certain whether someone will really be lucky. Because people who bet without expecting to win or get lucky are just people who are having fun with gambling, so it wouldn't be strange if someone who bets doesn't want to tell other people about their luck. Because this kind of thing can actually be done by anyone who has the courage and ability individually without having to depend on other people.
Exactly, it's not like you have control on how the team that you're betting on will perform, your control stopped when you've locked it in and now it all relies on the skills of the team you've put your bet on. To be honest, most betting should be easy especially if you just bet on the one with the lowest odds, it's common sense that betting sites will put lower odds on the teams that's likely to win so why not just go with your common sense and secure an easy win?

It's never an easy win. Less than a year ago there was a case when a guy bet $1 million in USD on a team that had 1.01 odds, meaning it should have won almost certainly, right? He thought it was easy to win $10k with that. And the team didn't win, and he lost his entire million. I can't even imagine how much money won those who bet in the outsider, but my point is, even with  1.01 odds you can lose sometimes.

~ Won $200 in October 2016. How much is it now? More than $10k? Congrats, my friend!
I never sold that amount directly, but its slightly more than 10grands in USD at the current conversion rate. Which means that at that time bitcoin price was 1/5th of what it is today, which checks out around 600 USD.

What I mean is that if you have 0.3 BTC today , it's the money you've won back then. If not for that win, you wouldn't have it right now, right? 10 grands is 10 grands, Congrats again, mate!

FreeBitco.in is an amazing place where things like this can happen. I'm waiting for my 10000. I'll roll it soon, I can feel it. Smiley
Thats the spirit of freebitcoin, but I have been trying a number of times every day too but have not got it again. The probability is low, I was extremely lucky on that roll. Cheesy

I'm wondering how much it will be one day in the future, $200 in BTC now? $2k? Maybe more? Freebitcoin is a fantastic place. You can win that much in one roll and it's free.

Yesterday I went to Bitcasino and found a slot with an unbelievably low live RTP for the last 24 hours, 0.86%

Hunting for the lowest live rtp slots is my latest passion, so, of course, I started to play it. I set it to make the smallest bet possible, so, the smallest coin value and just one line, and I hit 5x of my bet right away:

Later, within 20 minutes of playing there were so many 5xs

that I'd stopped making them screenshots at one point, but this one, 40x, I surely couldn't miss

And today I went to that slot again, and, sure enough, it wasn't 0.86% anymore Smiley

Was it changed by my play? I don't know, but it was fun. Smiley
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: November 01, 2023, 03:42:52 AM

Regarding the morality of using AI for sportsbetting I think that it's not a bad idea to use them especially if it helps you put in perspective on the teams you want to bet on but using AI to bet blindly, I think it's stupid.

There's nothing immoral in using AI for sportsbetting. Unless it's forbidden by the site, you are good to go. But I undeerstand why the question arises. Anything new encounters suspicion and hostility at first. Like using zippers instead of buttons was considered "infernal" by some.
That's what I've said which I'm happy that you've agreed, although I frown upon the fact that betting sites would ban you if they ever suspect that you're using AI which is kind of stupid I guess because at most, the AI is pretty much just spouting common sense and you just want an affirmation so you can feel secure of your bet.

Is it so? I've never encountered a gambling site where it's said in ToS that they will ban you if you are using AI. And I think that's because they don't regard it as a threat to them, gamblers using AI. At this point AI is in such state that some people can feel secure of their bet after consulting with it, but that would be not more than illusion.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: November 01, 2023, 03:13:49 AM
~ After 1 year or more ago because my passion there did not reduce, I began to see the tragmewaves as a stress reliever for me, so I already see it as that, but the people who see it and play to win because it has its problems, it is known that with little money It can be multiplied to a lot, and that's just some great players, there are some who make plays up to 200 usd in a single spin, and that's something that surprises me, the truth is I wouldn't be able to bet so much in one turn that in the race I could lose and oh, that's how 200usd goes, for me it's a lot, but there are people who gamble a lot, bet very hard and win dudtro too, but the unknown is, it will be that throughout their life how much they have played order? How does it compensate for all that life where they particularly leave some money in the casino? is it worth doing it? That's what I would like to read about people who have won big on a slot machine.

There are two kinds of people that bet $200 USD in a single spin: Some people are blindly chasing big wins and they forget about anything else; and there are others who simply can afford it. For the latter it's like for us betting 20 cents for a single spin. They have a lot of money and for them winning something like $20 is not entertaining at all, so, they need to make higher bets to have fun. The former kind, on the other hand, they are seeking not fun but big profits, and those people need professional help.

Again it was a success for me in the current Slots Forum Challenge | Week 14 run by the magnificent SanjaT.

This time it took me like 2 minutes to hit that 40x+ multiplier to qualify:

It's more than 6 days left till the end. Try your luck, guys. You can do it. Smiley
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: October 31, 2023, 08:01:03 AM
~
That's true that in poker your result depends on all those things, your well-being included. With purely luck-based games like slots it's not the same. You can feel horribly and still win big. In any case, you should never treat gambling as a major income.
I don`t even think about slots. It is only luck, you have chances the same like a lottery. But in sport betting you can win good money. Not every bet of course, but enough for living. In my situation the profit from the main work is to high, but if someone has problems with the job - the gambling can help him. Of course it doesn`t mean, that everybody easily becomes rich - it is really great everyday job, like any other.

I agree that it's a hard job, but it's not like any other. For example, if you are a good coder and it's your job, you work hard and make good money with that, you are not risking your money in the process like with playing poker or sports betting. So, like I'm always saying, however skillful you are, or, however, you think, lucky you are, you better don't try make gambling your major income.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: October 31, 2023, 06:38:33 AM

And I totally agree with you about investing the rest of the money in Bitcoin. Especially today, when the price is low.

What if that person doesn't have an idea when it comes to bitcoin? So what you've said about "investing the rest of the money in Bitcoin" is not applicable to all people who don't have a slight idea about it. But maybe for some people like us that are prominent in the field of cryptocurrency or bitcoin, the number one thing that we will do is invest some or a large amount of our winnings in bitcoin because we see the potential profit in bitcoin, which is good timing right now. But treating yourself to some luxury things will not be bad, either because you deserve it or because the winner deserves it. Just control the expenses and buy only the things that you necessarily need. How I will I will win in lottery I already have plans on how will I spend some and how will I invest some.

That's right, you gotta live sometimes, and when is that time if not when you won $600k in lottery?

Buying only the things that you necessarily need isn't exactly luxury, I would say. If you won big, you can afford spending on some unnecessary things too. Smiley

~
If I personally got the win I would definitely use some of it to invest in crypto especially Bitcoin.

And I think, fortunately, many people these days would do the same. Times when most people didn't know anything about Bitcoin history are gone long ago.

Celebrate your big win, buy some necessary but expensive things, and invest the rest in Bitcoin. That would be my advice.

Of course you are losing, what do you expect when odds are stacked highly against you.  Grin
That's why bookies love parley gamblers and eventually limit players that bet singles. It's much more profitable to stay away from big parleys.

Of course 1 hit can finance the next, I don't know, 100 bets but when these bets lose you are red again.

But I do understand the excitement of having a high odds parley, we all have dreams. It's like the "chip and a chair" saying at poker.  Cool

Going to switch to lower odds, like about 10.00 or so, for a change.

Don't be tempted lol especially for freebets it's kinda pointless to do anything lower than 2x, since you don't get stake back but don't lose hope so soon with these big odds.

I started also recently using bigger odds and it was tough to keep losing but if you hit a few streaks wins it's super worth it Smiley

Thanks for reminding me, guys, that betting with bigger odds is what I actually love and do. Having a long losing streak I almost gave up. But since low odds are not doing good for me either:

I'm switching to the high ones back again. Indeed, if you win with super high odds once, that makes the whole thing worth it.

casperBGD and efialtis are the matchday winners with 18 points each. congratulations to both of you - the sportsbet.io free bets will be credited to you soon.
efialtis has even forgotten to give the picks for one game...
on the first three places all three participants have the same score
the overviews will follow soon...

I don`t know what`s wrong with me and how I forgot that one when I entered my picks for all the other games of that day... Cheesy Thanks for managing this Cygan!

Still, even without that game, you've managed to earn 18 points for that round. You predicted 6-1 for Bayern Munich vs Darmstadt. Closer than anyone else to the actual result. And although you've earned 2 points, same as me with my lame 4-1 prediction, it's impressive, to say the least.

And, of course, I'd like to join you in this: Thanks for managing this Cygan!
