Question:
does bitcoin own generated addresses? Yes?
So you are owning 2 hours of generated addresses that you won't use anytime, I'm correct?
Are them a waste of addresses?

Is there someone that can develop a patch to support these URI-schemes ?
how much will it cost?
8869  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Development of alert system on: August 23, 2010, 03:02:42 PM
I like the idea about a warning message, but I'm against anything like a remote control.
The only way to make it possible is adding an option where user can chose to enable/disable this remote control.

8874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: *** Version 0.3.10 - block 74638 overflow PATCH! *** on: August 16, 2010, 02:12:42 AM
ITALIANO

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.3.10/

SHA1 4f35ad7711a38fe8c880c6c9beab430824c426d3 bitcoin-0.3.10-win32.zip

SHA1 b812ccff4881778b9090f7c0b0255bcba7b078ac bitcoin-0.3.10-macosx.zip

Passaggi richiesti per l'aggiornamento:
1) Chiudi Bitcoin
2) Cancella o sposta i file blk*.dat

http://knightmb.dyndns.org/files/bitcoin/blocks/
http://rapidshare.com/files/413168038/BitcoinBlocks.torrent

( Questo non dovrebbe più succedere, ma se sei bloccato al 74638 dopo aver scaricato i blocchi, prova questi parametri per avviare il client:
-addnode=12.53.130.10 -addnode=99.59.167.147 -addnode=75.158.131.108 -addnode=99.27.237.13
o anche questi:
-addnode=64.186.154.76 -addnode=64.186.155.104 -addnode=76.235.234.64 -addnode=74.137.15.169 )
8875  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: tcatm's 4-way SSE2 for Linux 32/64-bit 0.3.9 rc2 on: August 16, 2010, 12:47:23 AM
I propose to compile sha256.cpp with -O3 -march=amdfamk10 (will work on 32bit and 64bit) as only CPUs supporting this instruction set (AMD Phenom, Intel i5 and newer) benefit from -4way and it'll improve performance by ~9%.
Good Cheesy
Will this also work on Windows OS?
8876  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: URI-scheme for bitcoin on: August 16, 2010, 12:45:33 AM
Another idea:
A way to simple add a node while the client is already running and/or the newbie user doesn't know how to add something in the command line Cheesy
Code:
bitcoin://IP:port?addnode=1
( it's only the idea, you can suggest a better text to do the same thing Wink )

EDIT:
Situation without amound
bitcoin://IP:port?name=blah,message=
bitcoin://btcaddress?name="address book name"

Bitcoin will show the box "Send coins" with the b-address already written.
The user will have only to write the amount.
This will be good to make it easy random donations: ex: forum firms

My personal idea is that a project involving money needs before everything to be EASY to customers ( normal users ) than developers/sellers
So, I think that URI-scheme ( and autoupdate/warning message features ) must have an high priority than new apis support, better hashing and so on.
( as I said this is my personal idea Wink )
8877  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: overflow bug SERIOUS on: August 15, 2010, 11:47:58 PM

Agree, wanted to do that for a long time, haven't had time to do it.

For now, you could also subscribe to the bitcoin-list mailing list.  It rarely gets used except for announcements like this and major new versions.

Subscribe/unsubscribe page:
http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/bitcoin-list

Good Cheesy

Anyway I usually check the website, I was thinking to a solution for newbie-users ( that they are more to come on future )
A small bug can be a big problem with a network with a lot of newbie and/or not-informed users. ( and none of them will ever give a look to a source like this: http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/bitcoin-list Tongue )

( sorry for my english, I hope you are still understanding me Grin )
8878  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: overflow bug SERIOUS on: August 15, 2010, 11:32:43 PM
I think that you should add something about this: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259.0
There must be a label on the client that show a warning message if needed Smiley
Now everyone have always to check the website, and I think that this is bad.
8879  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Printing bitcoins : could it work? on: August 07, 2010, 02:53:04 PM
I think that Bitcoin has to add a new way to sign coins, something like "without-owner". ( a new sign in the protocol )

1) An user ( A ) ask the Bitcoin client to make a QR-code ( or a like ) of 100 Bitcoins ( it's an example )
2) Bitcoin client cut 100 Bitcoins from the A user's wallet, and signs them ( 100 bitcoins  ) with the new sign "without-owner", and generate the QR-Code of this operation.
3) User B will be able to check the QR-Code to see if these 100 bitcoins ( he will also find that they are "100" bitcoins ) are still signed "without-owner" or not, and he can chose to own them or not.
8880  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: URI-scheme for bitcoin on: August 06, 2010, 01:05:16 PM
My proposal

bitcoin://btcaddress?name="address book name",amount=100.0

It contains all of the information necessary to send someone some money and lets the web browser launch the program.  A bitcoin "installer" could associate bitcoin:// with various web browsers / operating systems.

The above syntax also supports

bitcoin://IP:port?name=blah,amount=100,message=

Either way the bitcoin client is launched on the users machine (or a mybitcoin website is brought up) and all the information is entered with the option of adding the destination to your address book.
yes please! Add some supports to these kind of URI!
Now that we have password support, this is next step to do imho Cheesy
