901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this coin solve some of the problems Crypto has? on: May 15, 2017, 10:50:02 AM
The only thing this will kill is the investor's wallets. Cheesy
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: May 12, 2017, 04:51:31 PM
There is nothing else fundamental to hold up the price. Down 8% in 24 hours so far.

"... the first Lightning payment on Litecoin, sending a microscopic payment not normally possible or economic on a blockchain, fully settled in a fraction of a second."

https://www.blockstream.com/2017/05/11/lightning-on-litecoin.html

Looking forward to this being fully integrated into LTC wallets. Segwit was never the interesting thing (just required to move forward), it's whats coming including confidential transactions, smart contracts among other things. If you want to ignore what's coming feel free, as for me I'm paying attention.

I think LN will give another boost to LTC price even in short term.

LN will not be used widely for the LTC in the short term.

Confidential Transactions might be better when it comes to cool features, confirmation speed and tx/s were never a problem with litecoin.
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC retracing back to support line? on: May 12, 2017, 04:48:41 PM
Is there an ETA for when lightning network news will hit in, when it will become available, etc

904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC is the next pump, buy before moon landing!!!!! on: May 12, 2017, 08:07:51 AM
Ha! you guys were skeptical then and are doubtful now even after LTC tripled in price and I'm sure you will stay a bystander just watching these rare opportunities wasted without taking advantage. Next stop is $75 what you think?

75$ is not possible for this coin to be achieved and since the price of it is been tripled for now well im pretty sure that people are currently watching and aswell as staking it at this point. And im little bit surpised now on what is happening on LTC since looks like they are racing with bitcoins to reach its another historic milestone of the year.

Dude, this is bitcoinland, everything is possible.

Litecoin as a lot of cool stuff coming its way, Lightning Network, Thunder, MAST, Confidential Transactions, Schnorr Signatures, all of this can now be implemented in Litecoin.

Any one know when LN will adopt on ltc?

It's on:

905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LiteCoin Officially Alive...Now Jumping on: May 10, 2017, 09:37:57 AM
I've been holding for quite some time, I'm still not selling, these markets are pretty crazy and $100 LTC is a real possibility.

I will continue holding litecoin, even if it loses 50% of current value I'm still in big profit.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What was your best altcoin investment? What was your worst altcoin investment? on: May 10, 2017, 08:07:11 AM
Litecoin is performing very, very well, it was my best bet.

I once bought some AI coin that ended up to be a total scam and price went to zero, lost 20 bucks or so.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Bubble Popped? on: May 09, 2017, 09:35:21 AM
Be careful, don't fall in the bear trap, if you aren't green don't panic sell, this bull run isn't over yet, but you may want to reduce your alt exposure on the rebound.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin activate segwit as litecoin price peaks at 30USD? on: May 08, 2017, 10:20:02 AM
litecoin price increased over 300 percent in a month and Chinese investors had a discussion last week about the future of litecoin. http://news.8btc.com/litecoin-price-peaks-at-30-usd-but-is-it-a-bubble
Since Litecoin is often looked as a Bitcoin testbed, they wonder if btc will soon activate segwit, though Bitcoin keeps meeting opposition from miners.

Actually it's the opposite, code is ported to litecoin after it is implemented in bitcoin, litecoin is the ultimate bitcoin clone.

Segregated Witeness activation is the first time litecoin is more advance than bitcoin.
909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) on: May 08, 2017, 10:17:24 AM
Another crypto unicorn, we have 5 now.

how much money does it require per day to sustain this kind of valuation?

911  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: small blocks actually making it harder to run a node? on: May 05, 2017, 04:59:02 PM
Quote
the 1MB block size is forcing space usage away from cheap and abundant hard disk storage and into the forever backlogged mempool of pending transactions, already at 182MB on my local node as I write this

The 'argument' is so childish it made me laugh.

913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince people into you using Bitcoin? on: May 05, 2017, 10:40:32 AM
Many people need big proof to satisfy that this site is legit ..whats the best way to convince your relatives or friends

Why would you want to convince people to use bitcoin?

You should do exactly the opposite, tell people about all the dangers in putting money into bitcoin, and only talk about it to your most computer savvy friends, other people just advise to stay away, because if you convince someone into putting their money in bitcoin when they get hacked and lose all their coins or the market crashes and they have a lot less money they will blame you.

Don't lose friends because of bitcoin, it's just money...
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 05, 2017, 09:54:10 AM
http://coincap.io/
Average Fee
$1.61
https://btc.com/stats/unconfirmed-tx
The current best transaction fees 199 Satoshis/byte | 0.00199 BTC/KB
0.00199 = 3.19 USD
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
Which fee should I use?
The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 200 satoshis/byte, shown in green at the top.
For the median transaction size of 226 bytes, this results in a fee of 45,200 satoshis (0.75 USD).
Where did you get the "because fees are still $0.4-$0.5"?

the numbers you are quoting are fee per byte not fee.

if you don't do Address reuse and don't receive a lot of dust inputs from things like faucets and microjobs then your wallets stays clean of dust and when you want to spend bitcoin your transaction size will be about 220 byte (give or take). and with a 199 Satoshis/byte fee your total fee would be 43780 satoshi and that is $0.7 with the current $1600 (my calculation was with a lower bitcoin price because I forgot to check the current price of today! and $1600 was reached today)

in any case it is still not $0.85 and not $1 and not $1.61 or $3.19

Well, if the world was perfect I'll be dating Taylor Swift.

Coincap shows average fee in USD for latest block, when I posted that it was $1.61.

If fee start to be a problem people can always move to litecoin for those particular transactions, there's pleanty o room for growth there, fees are still very low.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 05, 2017, 08:37:31 AM
You are wrong because fees are still $0.4-$0.5

and if you ended up paying anything more than that, it means your transaction had a lot of outputs to spend and that is what caused your transaction size to grow 2 or 3 times in size compared to a normal 220 byte transaction and you as a result ended up paying 2 or 3 times more fee than normal fee.

I am not saying fees have not gone up. I am more pissed off about higher fees as the next guy but it is not $1.

916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why don't you long Stellar, little brother of Ripple? on: May 05, 2017, 08:08:29 AM
Sold all my Stellar overnight, been holding for so long and ended up selling cheap. Cheesy

If the opportunity presents itself I'll take a position again in the future.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto marketcap goes from $30bn to $40bn in under 2 weeks - What next?? on: May 04, 2017, 01:15:29 PM
There's too much going on. I'm finding it hard to concentrate on my day job!

Will we be seeing $50bn by the end of May?

If so, will we have BTC at £1600, ETH at $100, XRP at $0.1 and LTC at $50??

I can relate to that. Cheesy

I believe we are seeing a bubble like the dotcom bubble in 2000, people are throwing money in all the ICOs without anything to show, it will end up badly for many people, BTC, ETH, XRP and LTC should be fine though.
LTC fine.... , ETH fine.... Let me doubt it.

People will move to those coins when all those "2.0" vapor projects start to crash, I meant they'll be fine in the long run.

Litecoin now in the billion dollar club. Cheesy

I'm so glad that I stuck with my litecoin investment over the past years and stocked up a few when the price was sub 5 usd.

It's time for litecoin to take back position number two! (ok, maybe three Wink)

Number 3 would be fucking awesome!

I to stayed with litecoin for the past years, it's nice to see all the hodling paying off, it was a bit hard.
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTC now on Coinbase on: May 03, 2017, 04:32:04 PM
And we're on, price increasing a lot, it has been increasing all day now everyone wants in.

The train is on.
