901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GLB]Globe – SHA256 Get your ASICs In - Fast , Backed, Economically Viable on: January 12, 2014, 09:52:07 PM
Nicely done Smiley, maybe round a bit the image corners and it will be perfect.

I really enjoy mining globe, this coin is running in the "background" of all the others and don't receive as much criticism (17000 views soon !). I'm not a Dev and I haven't a lot of knowledge, but for using, owning and following more than 30 different cryptos (a lots of crappy ones) I can say that it sounds really good for Globe.
Using SHA-512 was a great idea. Hash rate goes up slowly but surely and miners are quiets. Maybe many other users think the same as me but don't want to generate an huge interest before owning a lot of coins. It's gonna be huge in 2014 man. Most of people I've talked about it found potential in Globe. I'm going to bump my thread on ecoiner, they have a small but growing community and the Admin say that Globe sounds promising. Maybe I can get some new miners in and why not opening a thread in the bitcointalk french board to talk more freely about it to my communty as english isn't my language.

A small giveaway for a cryptsy and coinedup vote would help to be more known as i've seen yesterday your previous ones were bumped. But maybe waiting a bit the time for you to be sure about the recent auctioning changes would be better before trying to grow Wink

Yeah trying to gather some coins before the diff jumps really high Smiley

Sent you some GLB by the way for your help Wink

Seriously, I feel dumb now. I solved the problem. Want to know what I did? I named the config file "globecoin.conf", but the wallet is looking for "globe.conf". I found out when I tried to start the wallet with the "-server" tag, after which you get that popup that you have to specify user/pass in the conf file.

Thanks for the help. If you want some globe, post your address Smiley

Hahaha No problem.  Smiley This cryptocurrency is called "Globe" . No need to send me GLB Wink .

Yeah, kind of stupid, but I kept changing the .conf file I already had, and when you start the QT in the normal way, it does not say anaything about no config file.

By the way, now I have the wallet working, I started some solo mining. I am getting 7.99999999 globe per block, instead of the 10 stated in the TS. Could you tell me where the difference is coming from?

EDIT: Oh, wait, that is the tax of course Smiley

This is really weird maardien. Try adding these :

92.10.36.53
95.85.26.11
83.212.121.113
192.241.155.205
178.172.14.219
87.126.185.230
192.241.155.205
https://globe.suprnova.cc

Via the console.

Have you tried on another computer?

Thanks

In your globe.conf keep the nodes and replace this :

Quote
listen=1

maxconnections=100
gen=0

genproclimit=-1

rpcuser=xxx
rpcpassword=xxx
rpcport=9031

p2pport=9031
rpcallowip=*
server=1

daemon=1

with this :

Quote
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=pass
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=8682
port=8684

Did that, no effect. What is the current version of the QT?

My conf file is now this:

Hi,

Try this:

92.10.36.53
95.85.26.11
83.212.121.113
192.241.155.205

87.126.185.230
192.241.155.205

gen=0

genproclimit=-1

rpcuser=xxx
rpcpassword=xxx
rpcport=9031

I am having a problem with the globe QT. It does not sync. No block source available, no connection to network. I have added all nodes from the TS. Anything I can do about this?

Hi,

You can use this : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=360255.msg4308107#msg4308107

I added all of them, and have had the wallet running for a few hours now, but still no sync Sad

910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 102k Dogecoins missing from my fast-pool account on: January 11, 2014, 10:06:02 AM
I cant really help you with your doge, but please remember to set auto payout next time. If there is one thing I learned in the altcoin world, it is to never trust anyone with your money. No pools, no exchange no one.
911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: LOOOONG Term Mining on: January 11, 2014, 03:11:47 AM
Middlecoin is scrypt only, and mining a scrypt coin with a cpu is generally not profitable unless you have free power. For the relative profitability it doesn't matter whether youvhave a gpu or cpu.
912  Local / Alt Coins (Nederlands) / Re: Dev gezocht voor nieuwe crypto! on: January 11, 2014, 12:54:12 AM
Niemand? Sad

Anders ga ik maar is wat internationale devs polsen. Het leek me alleen qua communicatie e.d. wel makkelijk om een nederlander te zoeken.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: multipool... better not? on: January 11, 2014, 12:11:34 AM
I haven't had any problems with payouts from middlecoin. And if you mine for profit, I think it is the best working pool. Not so if you want to support a specific coin.

How many khash are you getting? I didn't think it would still be possible to solomine this with a cpu?
