901  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 14, 2014, 09:48:53 PM
Thank you Kuma,
I will ssh in to do this if I am correct.  There used to be a box to do this in the settings page.  I hope Zvi puts that back in later on.  ssh is a pain in the butt.
Thanks again I appreciate it.

Zvi, I was wondering how to allow API access so MultiMiner can see the miner on the network like it does the Antminers and such.
I have it setup as the default like this.
Quote
api-listen
True

api-allow
W:127.0.0.1
It is like something is missing to make it work.

Thanks
You have to ssh to station and vi /etc/cgminer.conf
I am not expert on the cgminer config files, I know you can set w:0/0 to enable total remote access to miner from any station. Maybe someone here can guide you to a more secure configuration.
It's important for minepeon to have access from local station (127.0.0.1).

If you need to change settings through API (for example switching pools etc.), you should set W:127.0.0.1,W:<your IP or IP/subnet>. If you need just to read values from API use W:127.0.0.1,R<your IP or IP/subnet> or W:127.0.0.1,R:0/0 (for enabling non privileged - read access from all IP addresses).

902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 14, 2014, 09:44:37 PM
The top as more heat would collect up there and possibly the bottom as it does not get the airflow the other three sides do?

Quote
How does the bottom one and top one stay cool?  Is the amount of air being moved enough to prevent hot spots?
Great work!!

Why would there be hotspots on the top and bottom?
903  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 14, 2014, 09:24:14 PM
I want one of these so badly.
Great design.  It must regulate the temp well.
How does the bottom one and top one stay cool?  Is the amount of air being moved enough to prevent hot spots?
Great work!!

We had AM_BE200_X24 boards sampled and tested. We also sampled the compatible heatsinks and supporting structures for them. It hashes at 768GH (each board 192GH) with 0.85-0.92W/G (PSU loss excluded). Power draws on higher/lower hashrate with higher/lower voltage is under testing. The design files of heatsinks/structures are going to be released a little later.

It should be emphasized that QUAD and X32 are also sampled and well tested before X24.

Very cool.
MultiMiner is great for windows and Mac but this gives a Pi setup that should help lots of people.
Thanks.

GRID CONTROLA CE (Community Edition) Raspberry Pi image now available for download and testing... I hope I did this right.

https://mega.co.nz/#!5QJkwYyC!-7AJ_qTmcWBmNlS93A1ybQf-oW2CZUZlwYkIUak-yFw

4GB SD card image based on HASHRA BLADE CONTROLA 1.4.6.1 and Luke-Jr BFGMiner 4.2. I have only tested it with 10 GridSeed Minis and 1 Blade. This image has xrdp (Remote Desktop) pre-installed for your convenience so you may want to change credentials if your Raspi is exposed to the public side. HASHRA set credentials below:

Default Username: hashra
Default Password: hashra

Root access:
User: pi
Password: 3K4Hb8FMeZjQZJEX6scYzZa

Will try to create separate support thread if there is any interest (don't want to spam Luke's).

905  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: June 14, 2014, 07:56:21 PM
The guy did say he had redistributed his hash rate round to all the other pools excepting Eligius.
It certainly feels like they are back.  Luck has incredibly bad despite ghash losing some ground and the pool growing.
Variance is a nasty mistress regardless of what is going on.

Is the empty block attack able to be used on any pool? could this explainthe poor luck among all pools. Does anyone even understand this attack
pages 346-347 should explain it better.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fury/Blizzard tuning and mods on: June 14, 2014, 11:01:19 AM
I think the thing we need the most is the ability to get these running on current versions of BFGMiner and cgminer.
So many of the dam errors are from the ancient cgminer 3.1.1
I would love to see support for it on the newer ones and setup on MinePeon or some such easy to use distro.  That would really help these little beasts out.
I am still not happy I had to add thermal paste to my Blizzard so I could get it stable enough for my review.
907  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who the hell is still mining on GHash.IO? GTFO that pool already!!! on: June 14, 2014, 10:57:02 AM
If they pay the TX fees that is news to me.  Last I knew they did not.
BTCG merge mines as well.  Eligius does as well.
NastyPool is working on adding it.
There are plenty of other pools that do as well.

You are misinformed.

Ghash pays transaction fees too, aswell as merged mining.

If somebody sets up a p2pool node with ~0,5% fees and merged mining i would be in though.

908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Guide]List of all scrypt mining pools manually change difficulty. on: June 14, 2014, 09:47:18 AM
Scrypt Guild allows you to change the difficulty settings.
909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner 3.1 w/Remoting: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: June 14, 2014, 09:39:47 AM
That could be it or a system driver not up to date with 8.1.
So much fun with windows updates.   Tongue

That is very weird. Almost like the check box and perks are not working as well as the API and email address settings.

As a possible fix do you all have the latest .NET installs and updates?

Yes, both machines are win 8.1 running the same version of .net -  I also installed MM on a laptop thats also on the network (as a test to determine if the issue is with either of my mining machines), and it doesnt see the other machines either and vice versa. I'm curious as to how MM 'detects' other machines on the network running the program now.

I have been getting API errors and .NET crashes. I will update in the morning and poke around the settings.
Windows 8 gave me issues awhile back when using MultiMiner but that was many revisions ago and W8 not 8.1.
910  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who the hell is still mining on GHash.IO? GTFO that pool already!!! on: June 14, 2014, 09:32:17 AM
There are many equally awesome pools.
BTCGuild which even though it charges a fee it pays miners transaction fees so in the end I make more there than at ghash.
Eligius has 0% fees and great statistical information.
NastyPool is a P2Pool with 0% fees and has the best implimentation of P2Pool I have tried to date.
There are many better options.
The problem is people are dazzled by a shiny web interface and supposed 0% fee.  ghash does not pay miners TX fees so they make a ton off your mining.  As Bitcoin continues to be more and more widely used those fees will grow and eventually outgrow the mining reward.  If you think ghash will ever give you that you are mistaken.

24 h hashrate of GH is 43% again, so stop worrying.

Even if they have 51% for a short time, they would have to actively want to do something malicious in order to cause any harm.

I am wondering why nobody is building an equally awesome pool so there will be less problems in the future.

I know that occaisionally mine will drop a system off MM panel even though everything is ok.  I have not had them drop completely though like you have where they do not come back.

This other machine is a GPU rig? I am not sure MultiMiner is designed to display other instances of itself on the same network like it notice an Antminer or other stand alone mining hardware. You were able to get MultiMiner to display another instance of MultiMiner running without using the stratum proxy function?

I have a GPU rig which runs MultiMiner (main instance) and that instance is set to display ALL network devices, run and USB devices and mine with GPU's. Not once have I ever seen any of my other GPU rigs display on my main instance of MultiMiner. I would verify with Nate that this option is available before you pull your hair out anymore yo  Grin I could be wrong but who knows

I have never had a problem where my GPU rigs do not see each other.

Hmm, weird and yeah I watch this thread but have been puzzled with your issues especially since a fresh install did not your prob. Can you see ALL the machine in the MobileMiner or Web version? Your email/key info is applied properly?

Stumped I am.

Yea I can see both machines in mobileminer both from my laptop and my phone. Its just the programs dont see each other. I've just updated both machines to MM v3.2.2 & recreated the Homegroups on both machines but still no go. Got me totally miffed atm...

LOL Dude you are killing me.  My wife thinks I am insane but that is one of the funniest images of the day.
I am literally putting the finishing touches on the review.  I should use that image for comparison.

Free ATX Breakout board for every 6 orders continued through the weekend. This deal is cumilative, so if you've ordered an RBOX from me in the past, you don't have to order 6 more for a breakout board. Breakout boards are also available for individual sale @$21.99

I understand there is some interest in Gen 1 Cube conversion kits… I'm happy to announce the first kit is now available for purchase!

I know many new miners would love a simple GUI like this to be able to run their units on that is Pi based.  I think you have done a great job getting the latest drivers and software on there to facilitate it.
I wish you luck and look forward to it if you can get one to work.
Thanks.  :-)

I can probably create one for Raspi SD card - have never done this before and not quite sure where to upload and share this rather large image. Let me see what I can do.

Do you have an image that could be downloaded with all the updates like this that new users who are not great with the command line could DL and use?
Great work by the way.

Compiled BFGMiner 4.1 for HASHRA BLADE CONTROLA 1.4.6.1 and it works well so far... Running mix of gridseeds minis and blade on a single Raspi.

917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AUTO SWITCH] ScryptGuild (BTC Guild) Beta on: June 13, 2014, 10:27:00 PM
Make sure you set the difficulty properly for the miners on your worker page.
Here is what seems to work best for me with a Falcon and a Blizzard on SG.

Fury/Blizzard - d=512
Falcon - d=8192

It will take a bit to get up to speed but they run much better.  You can go one level down on each if after 6 hrs they do not get all the way up to speed.
It has worked well for me.

Hi,

I have 3 seperate miner instances pointed at ScryptGuild:

1x GawMiner The Falcon @ZenMiner

1x Zeus Blizzard @cgminer 3.1.1

1x a 5 chip + Blade Gridseed setup @cpuminer 1.0d

Since today, i regularly notice both the Zeus and/or the Gridseed setup deopping out of the workers (showing 0,0 KH/s)
Is this just a display issue or should i be worried? I reset stats, rebooted the miners.. No difference..

They seem to be hashing fine locally, but not on the pool.

If there are pool issues, i'll move them over tomorrow..

Thanks,

Andre

EDIT:

Decided to change workernames to all lowercase and suddenly all are picked up again.. Buggy, i think.
918  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS/WTT] BlackArrow Breakout Board Cases/Mounts on: June 13, 2014, 06:39:35 PM
The guys at Minersource are great.  I am very impressed with them.
Great swag.
The cases loo great.
Keep up the great work.   Cool

Thanks MinerSource.net for the sweet swag along with my miners. I have already slapped a sticker on my printer, haha
Totally awesome!

R-Box (orb) mounts are coming soon! Should know more tomorrow  Grin

What the revised case looks like currently...

It's getting abnormally low again. Do you think they are just moving around now?
I wish they would just go to ghash and screw them up and leave us alone at the legit pools.

Greetings Eligius miners,

So, after some investigation over the past month or so, it turns out a couple of clients/addresses were involved in a “block withholding attack” against Eligius which has cost us an estimated 300 BTC, and likely miners of other pools as well.

Was this done intentionally, or was it due to the same bug that was seen at BTC Guild (where validshares > 2^31 were not submitted by a particular device)? Or is there some news that I'm not aware of?

Same users.  Before the full scope of what was happening to BTC Guild was made clear, I informed many other pool operators of the addresses for accounts I was freezing in relation to the block withholding.  We were in discussion about withholding vectors already from the abnormally low luck that Eligius and BTC Guild both had in March and April respectively.
920  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ZenMiner (unmoderated) service discussion thread on: June 13, 2014, 02:08:53 AM
Understood.
I have a feeling as they get things shaken out from the rollout it will get better.
Fingers crossed.

Thomas of ZenMiner has been fairly public and was open with me when I interviewed him.
www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/groundbreaking-deal-gawminers-zenminer-will-revolutionize-mining/2014/05/23

Nice article, but it hardly counts as "transparency by the company on their own site"....if you hadn't posted here, I would have never heard of the article and thus would not have "transparently" known the comments from Thomas
