901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 08, 2023, 09:27:03 AM

I lost my 2 picks but it is alright getting to go bounce for tomorrow's games,

That's the spirit! I lost my bet on the Nuggets too, but you know there's always tomorrow, so bouncing back is the best option. My bet for tomorrow is the Warriors moneyline. I have a feeling that they'll even the series in a close game.
902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long the high transaction fees will last? on: May 08, 2023, 09:09:49 AM
I guess all I can advise you is don't make penny bets if you don't have the funds in the casino for them. You don't want to be paying crazy amounts in fees that will wipe away penny winnings.

My betting range is actually between $20 and $100 per bet, so a $20 transaction fee is quite high for me. Even though I still have some funds in my bookie account, I'm afraid that I won't be able to top up once it's all wiped out

20 dollar isn't bo small money in ny local currency and now one has to pay 3 dollar even for no priority and 3 dollar is over 2 thousand naira in ny local currency.
YEAH, that's why no way I'll gamble now.

Nobody knows when the mempool will be less congested.
I hope the high transaction fees will not last a month though, as it's trouble now for small-time bettors like me.

There are altcoins that you can use instead for now.
That's okay if I'll buy altcoins with fiat, but for now, I have a little bitcoin that I'd like to use whenever necessary.

As a result, if you are desperate to bet, use the medium priority and risk having your transaction delayed for some time, or if you can afford the high priority transaction fee, you are good to go.

The medium priority transaction fee is still high, as it's only slightly less than the high priority fee with just over a dollar difference.

For my next bet, I'm choosing the Nuggets on the road with 2.00 ML odds for $50. Good luck to me!

Unfortunately, I lost my bet on the Nuggets, so my updated balance is now $375.

For tomorrow's games, I'm placing two bets: Knicks +3.5 at 1.95 odds and Warriors moneyline at 2.20 odds, both with $50.

Just read this thread lately and wow, this is a very risky thing to do. Lately on the playoffs as i have observed, seldom we can see favorites who lost the game, i think it was only the Warriors who lost to the Lakers in game 1 and Sixers winning game 1 also against the Celtics, other than that it was all the favorites winning the games.

Tomorrow would be interesting as maybe one of the underdogs might win so a little profit here if that happens.

Good luck with your experiment mate, hope you can have a profit after the playoffs.

I'm hoping for a Warriors win and it's also okay if the Heat win as long as it's by a maximum of 3 points. That way, both of my bets will win.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How long the high transaction fees will last? on: May 08, 2023, 08:01:57 AM
I haven't read the news yet, but it's been several days since the transaction fee has been very high. I checked on https://mempool.emzy.de/ and this is what I see now.

As a gambler, I'm a bit worried if this trend will continue because I have some fraction of bitcoin that I'd like to use for gambling, especially for the NBA playoffs. So for my fellow gamblers, or those who really need to transact with their bitcoin, what are the best things to do now in order to save from fees and avoid having our transactions stay unconfirmed for too long?

This is a great help, especially at the current situation where transaction fees are very high. I had plans to transact, but I didn't push through because of the current state.

I have found someone who offered this kind of service in the past, but it's not active anymore.

907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 07, 2023, 11:39:17 AM

It's a different Lakers now after they traded Westbrook away and then got a lot of role players that fitted in the system of Ham. And when the playoff comes, the experience of AD and Lebron in leading a team came into the picture that's why they were able to upset the second seed Memphis team.
It seems like the Lakers' success has continued after a strong run late in the regular season. I didn't imagine they would be dictating the series, but now they are leading 2-1 against the defending champions. However, it's still too early to make any definitive predictions. I may be a bit biased because I bet on the Warriors in Game 3, but I will do the same in Game 4. Grin

909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a shame on: May 07, 2023, 09:34:57 AM
Honestly, it's hard to argue with that because we live in a world with governments. If we want to enjoy using bitcoin based on its main purpose, which is decentralization, we can't expect it to happen because government intervention would make that decentralization centralized.

The government will decide whether to regulate bitcoin or not, and if they choose not to regulate it, that means it's banned or illegal.

If you want bitcoin to exist without government interference, it won't prosper, and mass adoption won't happen, which will likely lead to its collapse. Currently, major exchanges are regulated, if not all, so it's safe to say that bitcoin is also regulated.

For my next bet, I'm putting $50 on the Warriors moneyline in their upcoming game against the LA Lakers.
Unfortunately, I lost the bet as the LA Lakers had a blowout win. I have two losses already and I'm still figuring out how to get my first win.

For my next bet, I'm sticking with my strategy. It's on the Celtics vs. 76ers Game 4, and my bet will be on the 76ers to win the first half with 2.04 odds for $50. If they lose the first half, I will double my bet for the full game result on 76ers.

Updated bankroll balance : $425

The 76ers had a big win in the first half, which brings my updated bankroll to $477.

For my next bet, I'm choosing the Nuggets on the road with 2.00 ML odds for $50. Good luck to me!

Unfortunately, I lost my first bet and my updated bankroll balance is now $475.

For my next bet, I'm putting $50 on the Warriors moneyline in their upcoming game against the LA Lakers. The odds have been boosted to 2.43, so I'm hoping for a big payout.

Good luck to me!

I notice that you double your bet since your first bet lose. At what point you will stop increasing your bet to recover losses also why you are not making multiple bets instead of increasing your bets for a higher odds pick. I’m afraid that you might ended up chasing losses and pick risky bets to easily pick up profit.
This is not a total martingale strategy where I double my bet until I win. Currently, I am not following any specific system for bankroll management. Instead, I wager an amount based on what I like. However, I assure you that I will not lose control. The total bankroll I mentioned above will be the only bankroll I use for the entire playoffs period.

This is an exciting thread to track the real time experience of user instead of randomly post bets on separate threads. It will be more transparent if you will include screenshot of your bet slip considering that you already disclose your bet size in your post. Good luck bud! I'm with Warriors side too.

I may post some screenshots of my bets later in my journey, but right now, I don't want to feel obligated to do so. Besides, I'm not trying to convince anyone about the transparency of my bets. Whether you choose to fade, follow, believe, or not, it's not a big deal for me.

Where are you betting?
I'm betting on sportsbet.io and duelbits.com.

I would like to know a few information about the odds or other information surrounding it, it is more convenient to keep track. Or, can you send a picture of it?
You know, it would be boring if I could just keep track of your win or loss without knowing any more information around it  Cheesy
And good luck, I hope you win on this first bet  Wink

Just check the gambling sites mentioned and search for NBA or the particular team, and you will certainly see all the available betting odds.

If I'm not mistaken, and from the way I/we followed stadus in the NBA betting thread, he could be on Sportsbet.io.

Good luck, Sixers is the underdog in this game, but it's going to be in their homecourt and for sure this is what stadus could be looking. And Joel is the MVP and it was a disappointment performance for him last game so for sure he might come back here and proved to anyone that he deserves that MVP.

Yeah, I created that thread, but I wanted to have my own thread with my bets so I can trace my journey in the playoffs.

I had made bets in the first round already, but those are off the books. My journey officially starts with this first bet.

~~~
First bet: Philadelphia 76ers $25 x 2.10 (moneyline)
I think I've seen something like this but in trading not gambling. I'm not sure if the thread is still being updated.
I would love to see how this goes; you should also consider adding a little detail why you choose your team alteast that would spice things up. Good luck with this, I do hope the result turns out to be nice.
I'm following a very simple principle in sports betting, and that is to bet against the public since the public tends to lose more.
With my years of betting experience, I have found out that the better team does not always win (cover the spread) because there are many factors to consider, and the biggest factor in the game is the officiating.
My bankroll starts at $500, and I will update it after every result of all the games I bet on.
As a golden rule in sports betting, bettors should only put 2% to 5% of the total bankroll into a single bet. Therefore, I will start with 5%, but since this is the playoffs and I find it easy to predict, I may also try a semi-martingale strategy.
Update balance is 172.50.
First bet: Philadelphia 76ers x 2.10 (moneyline) @ $25- L
2nd bet : Warriors moneyline x2.43 (moneyline) @ $50 - L
3rd bet : 76ers 1st half x 2.04 (moneyline) @50 - W
4th bet : Nuggets x 2.00 (moneyline) @$50 - L
5th bet : Knicks +3.5 x 1.95 (spread) @$50 - L
6th bet : Warriors x 2.20 (moneyline) @$50 L
7th bet : Nuggets -6.5 x2.00 (spread) @100 W
8th bet : Heat +3.5 x 2.00 (spread) @$50 L
9th bet : Warriors -7 x2.00 (spread) @100 W\
10th bet : 76ers x 2.16 (monneyline) @$50 L
11th bet : Nuggets +2.5 x1.95 (spread) @50 W
12th bet : Miami -6.5 x2.00 (spread) @$50
13th bet : Warriors x 2.00 (moneyline) @50
14th bet : 76ers +6.5 x1.93 (spread) @$50 L
15th bet : 76ers moneyline x3.14 @30 L
15th bet : Celtics vs Heat under 210.5 x 1.96 @50
16th bet :  Lakers vs Nuggets game 3 is under 222 @$100.
Will be updated for correction.
The Celtics might beat Philly on the road after that stellar game 2 performance, but I think we should forget what happened in game 2 so we won't be too aggressive in putting our money on the Celtics. I think the home team here is the underdog since most bettors will likely choose the better team between the two. However, Philly is still undefeated at home, and they need to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. I like Philly in this angle.
Therefore, my bet is on Philly moneyline.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 24, 2023, 09:49:21 PM
As for Tank Davis. I wonder if he is now ready to fight for a title. He should stop cherry-picking his opponents because I would love to see him vie for a title for a chance to become a 2 division world champion. His mindset of being the face of boxing though might be an indication that he will continue to cherry-pick his next opponents.
I already assume that few weeks after this fight, after we know the winner of Lomachenko vs Haney fight, there will be a hype that will surface soon, and people will start calling for Gervonta Davis to fight the current undisputed champion next because that is indeed the right thing to do. People are already tired seeing Davis fighting a less risky opponent as that's what he did in the past or what Mayweather did. But since he is now not with Mayweather, I guess there will be no issue for that fight to happen.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: April 24, 2023, 09:39:11 PM
I sure do hope that we will still see the old Loma, so that he can give Haney a good fight and might dethrone him from being the undisputed champion in this division. But if not, I'm confident to say that it will be like a walk in the park Devin Haney.
I think we all are rooting for the same thing though, I guess not for Loma to defeat Haney, but at least he should be able to give the current undisputed champion an interesting fight, which is the latter. Especially the people, us, which asked for this fight because we totally believed that Lomachenko himself deserved a shot as that shoulder injury he had was the reason why he lost that 3 belt he held once.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 24, 2023, 01:38:07 PM
Despite all of the positive talks that Errol and Terence is now engage in negotiations, the public is still not buying that especially after the fact that they didn't follow what they've said that there will be an announcement regarding about them before or after the Tank vs Ryan fight. Instead of hyping their fight or whatever they call it, they should make a public announcement or some clarification because by the looks of it, their image is already scathed because of what they've done.
Crawford should engage the public because aside from Spence or Thurman, he is more known to make some statement and the public is more confident to him.
We have reasons not to because everything was almost good to go but they stopped their negotiation because of the very small details in the contract, they have taken the boxing community for a ride now they are messing with the Thurman - Spence fight, the two camps should take a lesson from Tank and Ryan they agreed to all the terms just to make the fight.
If it happens the Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence is the fight that could possibly eclipse the recent Ryan Garcia - Tank Davis match, so they have to move mountains to make it happen.
I really don't believe that they got some misunderstanding in the contract that's why their first negotiation failed and apart from that, Crawford already explained to us that there was never a contract to begin with and if that was the problem, he iterated that he was ready to accept as low as 30% but still nothing happend, so it was just a plain waste of time because Spence doesn't want it at that point.
