922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 07, 2021, 12:26:09 PM
Laying former champion Frankie Edgar out with a jumping knee after only 28 seconds is simply crazy, this Cory Sandhagen is a beast of his own kind! I am starting passionate about UFC after having only listened my friends' stories but jeez, this sport is truly great.
I was expecting a big fight but Cory smashed the former champion with what looked like a precise strategy. Will follow more from him!
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not censorship resistent. on: February 07, 2021, 12:16:25 PM
Bitcoin is not censorship resistant and never will be. The same with bitcoin cash and every other forked from the original bitcoin blockchain.

The economic factors and its compatibility with law is what secures bitcoin. Not cryptography.
This is pure non-sense.
Firstly, censorship-resistance ensures that protocol rules that govern how the network works are set in advance and can’t be retroactively altered to comply with a desired agenda, whatever it may be.
Secondly, there's no entity behind bitcoin hence you can't ask anyone to shut it down, roll back the blockchain, avoid others to transact and such.
Lastly, chances of a 51% attacks are so slim that only fools would go about that.

924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice games on: February 07, 2021, 12:08:58 PM
Most of you still can't get it; whether you win playing dice is based only on the randomly rolls generated by the algorithm. Those numbers determine the game’s outcome before you even decide your bet. Changing your strategy, whatever it may be it won’t influence the outcome of your roll in any way.
Just live with it and try only to have fun.  Wink
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: February 07, 2021, 12:03:38 PM
In my honest opinion, Real Madrid could win the La Liga 2020-21 but they need to recover their players as soon as possible. They have many injured players and they even have no normal defense ready to play. In case Atletico de Madrid doesn't fail the next couple of matches, Real Madrid will lose this league. It is not normal if Rafael Varane has to score two goals to win a match versus Huesca, one of the worst Spanish teams nowadays.
Real Madrid will not win the title this season because Atlético Madrid is going for it. Only trouble for Atlético these days is covid-19 as two players got it: Joao Felix and Dembelé (bought in January and still unable to play a single game with the madrilenos). This maight affect their forthgaming games if other players will get infected too.
On the market side, I read an interview with Correa who said he would be very happy if Leo Messi would come and play in Madrid with them. That would be awesome!
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about exchanging your bitcoin for stablecoins? on: February 06, 2021, 04:25:17 PM
I think the only good use case for stable coins is to use them to avoid going back to fiat money. Before stablecoins you would have been forced to exchange your precious coins into whatever fiat currency suits you while with stable coins you can stay in digital dollars and trade your opportunities on the market. Other than that, I don’t see why they should be used. Maybe you could top up your crypto debit cards and get some interest on that.
Just be aware of what stable coins you decide to use, do thorough research about it

Hey nakitcoins, today I wanted to try to use the crypto2crypto Coinswap. I don't find it possible to change the sending coin from bitcoin to one of the other supported ones. Is it just me? Below I am attaching a screen of my browser

I am unable to change the BTC sending coin: I only can change the receiving one. I really wonder if it is me or if others have the same. thanks

Yes at the moment you can only exchange as base currency Bitcoin, we are working to add Ethereum and Tether USD, wich we believe to be ready for next week, we will add from time to time new currencies !

Ok got it, thanks. I hope you would add them soon as I usually exchange altcoins into bitcoins. I tried a small test transaction with a friend and everything was smooth but having the ability to exchange between multiple crypto would be better to tackle competitors too.
The credit card exchange instead is very nice and also very easy to use: fees are truly competitive compared from what I see elsewhere
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: February 06, 2021, 08:52:55 AM
I try as much as I can to hold my signature campaign earnings as they are yet another way to stack more and more sats. I like spending time here on the forum and I am glad that I also have the opportunity to help spreading the word about crypto businesses.
Because I also never forget that this money should never be considered as some salary because clearly it is not.
It might not be treated as a salary but for some people it would really be on that way or treatment because not all are really living on a nice status in life when it comes to finances.

Its true that signature campaigns isnt really a job but people do earn which is more than on the amount that they can potentially earn on a real day job this do talks about on
3rd world countries.

Me too on where i do tend my best on not to waste up my coins in playing gambling because not on the part of avoiding on being addicted but rather i dont see
the point on wasting up your 1-weeks effort and time to lost those coins in a matter of seconds. It isnt really just worth.
Yes, from what I've learnt here on the forum over the years for some people coming from poor countries even the signature money can be enough to either sustain or at least support a whole family. I remember the story of a guy who started getting some money out of sig campaings and then ended up working for a crypto company. I can't recall the thread but it was a very compelling story for the topic.

Let's put into the equation the fact that Biden will keep pushing hard with helicopter money and we basically have the way paved for an even bigger usd devaluation.

Having bitcoin today is like having the best life insurance coverage for the future, therefore once more, I'd rather spend my already debasing fiat than my precious acquired corn.

I don't think hodlers need to be blamed, preferring sound money over crap fiat money is simply the right thing to do now. I try to hold the majority of my coin on the way forward and until I have a paid job why should I be using my precious coins? all the world's fighting over acquiring sats why should I let them go? Wink

933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptos are coming to physical Slot Machines - IGT received the patent! on: February 05, 2021, 04:36:25 PM
It is interesting to hear news like this because it contributes greatly to the adoption of cryptocurrency. However, society's adaptation to using encryption needs more time until it is able to use the technology and understand it as required. I think we need a decade for technology to expand further in different regions into the world!!!
We don't need another decade for this to expand everywhere. This new implimentation will stimulate users who never had a chance to see crypto technologies working in the real world to get their first chance. If it was me, I'd like to see Lightning Network ready slot machines, that would be awesome. Instead of playing pennies, we could play satoshis.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptos are coming to physical Slot Machines - IGT received the patent! on: February 04, 2021, 08:52:44 AM
I'd love so much to see these old chaps having to deal with crypto slot machines! It was about the time, we knew that this was coming too. The world is slowly turning, and I'd say, adapting to crypto. This is another step in that direction even if I personally would rather keep using the online alternatives as I like to be able to verify my bets via provably fair tools. I have this maybe false impression that those machines are altered too much.
935  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ BTCGOSU ⭐ Your Trusted Guide to the Best Bitcoin Casinos ⭐ on: February 04, 2021, 08:45:59 AM
I don't think they will really become popular for crypto players as KYC is required to signup. Bonuses seem indeed to be interesting as noted in the review.
I agree, did not know the site until now. However, KYC is for many in the crypto area certainly an absolute no-go, for me it is in any case - although it is understandable that a casino that deals with FIAT needs KYC. The mere fact that my wallets are then linked to my identity is a red flag for me. With Exchanges you can hardly get around it, but with casinos there are still more than enough possibilities, so that you don't need KYC.

The review is very good in any case, did not know that this casino already exists since 1994 and for example only since mid-2020 new players are allowed to sign up again. But it also looks to me as if this is a cautious opening in the direction of crypto, because of course a very large market is gradually emerging here.

IMO it`s great seeing established FIAT operators from FIAT joining our crypto space, which is also why I try to support them (review them, make people aware etc.) - eventually, it`s a great thing for us crypto guys.

I think this is also about Gosu's mission: to show the gambling world that there are well established and reputed crypto gambling alternatives. Actually, the world out there doesn't know anything about crypto casinos. I wouldn't worry about KYC too much as I believe there will always be plenty of KYC-free alternatives (and more will come in a decentralized manner).

It is not really only about being a motivator or not; at some point in life, particulary if you are Zinedine Zidane and you have won basically all that could be won as a player and as manager, you would want to go somewhere else to look for new challenges. Can't it be that way? Sometimes the easier thing to do is also the most simple and I hope Zidane will leave Real pretty soon. His cycle's ended over there.
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years later and people still don't know to use Bitcoin nor what it's good for on: February 04, 2021, 08:24:30 AM
12 years passed already since the launch of Bitcoin. And yet, most of people have no idea how it should be used, nor what Bitcoin is good for. Most of the users make a combination against the nature, using Bitcoin together with banks and centralized exchanges, having no knowledge about its libertarian and crypto-anarchic grounds. Without understanding that Bitcoin is here for helping them evade the slavery that governs and banks coerces them to, people do all they can to enslaves themselves, making an easy job for the elites which oppress them for thousands of years.

12 years ago Satoshi offered a very precious tool to humanity, tool which was able to set them free. Let's see how he was describing his invention:

Well deserved merits for you Gazeta.
Reading your thoughts, it is like reading mine as I also believe that many people do not have a clue about the bitcoin history behind the scenes. The problem is we can't force anyone to find bitcoin and use it the way it was supposed to. Our freedom shouldn't go as far as forcing others to treat bitcoin as a real bitcoiner would do. Don't get me wrong, ideally I am with 100% but we should also be realistic here. Maybe it is too early and with time people will increasingly wake up.
Let it be.  Smiley

Quote
70 percent of Americans have less than $1,000 stashed away, according to GOBankingRates' 2019 savings survey. The poll, released December 16, revealed 45 percent have nothing saved.

This is actually shocking... I'm not sure if BTC can help them at this point...  Angry
What!?!
This is what the credit card world does then. Crazy.
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Finance vs Traditional Finance on: February 04, 2021, 07:45:34 AM
The main plus of decentralized finance is that we do not need intermediaries in the form of banks, lawyers, experts, analysts, insurers, who receive a part of the profit from each transaction and increase the cost of services.
The second important stage in this revolution should be the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. Now you can pay with cryptocurrencies for goods or services in some countries, but this works through intermediaries - financial and other organizations.
It is very important that the second stage comes as quickly as possible.
Yes, I agree there needs to be some form of paradigm shift at some point in time where Decentralized Finance starts taking over the old world. It is also a cultural matter if you think: the majority of people have never had any doubts about the economy, it was kind of set in stone and whatever the financial world provides that's all there is. Not anymore since the inception of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was the first step towards that: I am not a big fan of DeFi on Eth (too crazy now), but the tools on the right platforms are good. I think in twenty years time there will no such thing as traditional finance anymore, as it is rapidly changing to somehow challenge what's coming from this side.
