Happy with my results and managed to only fall one place to second. I didn't expect Man United to lose. I wonder if Ollie's head is on the chopping block again. A loss to Arsenal at home last weekend and they're playing Everton away this week which could be tough though Everton have lost two games in a row but that could add more fuel to the fire if United lose as it's not going to luck good if that happens. I think I'll go for a draw in that game.

Turns out he only got 3 points which is a shame. I think you could still play though. Some weeks people get next to zero points so winning something is still achievable though I would understand if you didn't want to play on. Maybe play up until I collect the money in and see how well you do. Won't hurt to give it a go.
There are few reasons for me not to join this year.
1. Having only 3 points sucks where the others have 40+ points
2. I will have very busy time in the coming weeks so not sure about watching many games except Liverpool's
3. I really do not have much idea about other teams than English teams.

Well I don't know much about most teams either. Haven't even heard of a few this year and I'm doing alright.

922  Other / Meta / Re: Ledger database leak --> Phishing on: November 05, 2020, 09:28:34 AM
I got one and it does look very convincing if you don't pay attention.

Indeed.

I've just received two, identically the same. I don't know why they have sent me two. But I've checked to see what was happening and I've realized that the phishing ones come from support@ledger.cam while the one I got warning me of the phishing scam attempts came from noreply@ledger.com.

I just received another such email in my inbox, even though I reported that address as phishing. They are good. The problem is, now that they have our email addresses, they are not going to stop.

If I buy another hard wallet, I will buy Trezor.

Well trezor could be hacked too. It's probably a good idea to use multiple email addresses and keep one for personal stuff and have others for everything else to minimise exposure. Any company can suffer hacks and data breaches though.

They are patient and vicious: the hack took place at the end of July and they waited several months before going on the offensive.

They might have just been waiting for the highest bidder. The trouble is once the data is out there it goes exponential as the people who bought it will sell it onto someone else and so on and it gets cheaper and cheaper every time until it just becomes public data at some point.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: November 03, 2020, 11:07:11 AM
I'm actually curious about their battle contract? I see a lot of news that is only written, if there are official documents, maybe everything is clear. Does anyone have that? If in Fury's statement how many times has Wilder postponed the match, if that is true I think Wilder needs to do an evaluation, and Wilder also cannot sue that to happen because I think the Fury team is already disappointed because the deal was postponed by Wilder until his contract expires.
There is a rematch clause in the agreement in the second fight and all the television channels were clamoring about it about the time period in which Wilder should revoke his rematch clause and if he does the money split will be 60% to Tyson Fury and 40% to Wilder. Now what the reports are coming out is that there are disputes in the agreement and there will be clause for Tyson to reject the rematch if it is not favoring him and hence Wilder is crying about it now Cheesy.

The rematch clause also comes with a timeframe that it has to be done by so a fighter can't drag it out and block his opponent from taking other fights. Usually they get it done quite quickly but obviously with Covid happening it's not really been able to happen and I'm sure both fighters have taken advantage of this unique situation and tried to exploit the terms. It's probably a similar situation to what happened with Messi at Barcelona. Messi had it in his contact that he could leave before the start of the next season and was given a date to do so by, but obviously the league was delayed so the time frame elapsed but the season hadn't actually started yet and Messi gave his notice. Messi argued that the season hadn't started yet so the contract was still valid and Bara said otherwise. Had he taken them to court he might have won but he said he didn't want to do that. It will be a similar situation to the rematch clause in this fight. The timeframe given for it to contractually happen has probably elapsed but we're in unique circumstances and obviously they probably couldn't have fought each other due to covid, or if they could it would likely be behind closed doors and lose massive amounts of revenue which neither of them probably wanted to do.  Wilder will certainly have a case to take Fury to court but depending on whats in the contract it may not be valid anymore. Some contracts actually even have clauses for things like pandemics or natural disasters etc that make the time-frame void or whatever and I'm sure they'll become more prevalent in the future.

Fury said in a recent video response to Wilder's bullshit that he will fight The Big Dosser Grin again, but didn't say when. I think they should fight asap, Fury will probably win, then there's no disputing it and he's free to move on to either the AJ fight or whatever mandatory he has. AJ is fighting behind closed doors so there's no reason why Fury can't do the same with Wilder. The fight will probably do insane PPV numbers anyway or maybe just do it in a country that allows fans.

@FinneysTrueVision. The skeptical me is thinking that Khabib retired only to increase his performance fee. He knows this will increase to $30 million to fight for 30 - 0 versus Conor or GSP hehehe.

He doesn't seem that bothered about the money and think he has stated as such before. If he was he would have fought Connor again for the biggest payday of all time. Regardless, he would have still got his biggest payday for the next fight with or without the retirement announcement especially against someone like Connor.

Agreed but to come out of retirement to fight GSP, however hehehe. It was also complicated with Conor. Khabib did not want to give him any opportunity after the insults made to him and his father

Let McGregor have a few fights then do a massive  grudge match bout between Khabib and McGregor for his 30th fight. Easily be the biggest payday in UFC history and will break the Pay Per View records no doubt. I don't think anyone will beat Khabib but I hope he doesn't retire. I'm sure he was just full of emotion so just take some time out and come back for the big jobs when he's ready.

Also, how the hell did Bisping pass medicals and stuff and they not spot he only has one eye. Would he have been allowed to fight if that was discovered?

I dont know. But he got that injury in 2013. Here it is said that he got surgery in 2013 also. He retired in 2019. How he managed to compete? Dont know. Why docs allowed him to continue - maybe it is ok to fight in such injury according to rules, or if the fighter is comfortable to fight like this. Rodrigo Nogueira managed to fight without 1 of his ribs and part of liver somehow...

Well they have to undergo medicals before fights and surely they can't have missed this for so long. I'm sure they test vision. I don't know whether it's permitted or not to fight with one eye but why wouldn't he have told anyone about it? It would likely effect things like insurance if it hasn't been disclosed. It's certainly a massive disadvantage to fight with just one eye and fighters usually have real trouble in the cage when they can't see out of one eye because they either damaged it during the fight or blood is pouring into it effecting their vision. It puts your equilibrium off and not to mention you can't see some punches coming or not as effectively.

Good news tokeweed, and sign me up for next round.

Next event is UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira, on November 7 and not so easy for making predictions.

Main card
Thiago Santos   vs.   Glover Teixeira
Andrei Arlovski   vs.   Tanner Boser
Ian Heinisch   vs.   Brendan Allen
Cláudia Gadelha   vs.   Yan Xiaonan

Prelims
Trevin Giles   vs.   Bevon Lewis

Don't forget the Champion's League games tonight and tomorrow. Half the pool hasn't done theirs yet. I'll probably watch the Real Madrid V Inter match, though Liverpool is tempting. No games I'm that interested in tomorrow but might watch the Barca V Kiev just to see if Barca spank them. Hopefully I can keep onto my number one spot but I'm not that confident about my picks this round and rushed them a bit. Might have to go over them at some point today.

Well, you could still join albeit at a slight disadvantage. I think you should get 14 default picks from superbru and depending on what those were you could end up higher than some of the people on the leader-board. Happened to me on the first round of the PL pool as someone joined late and their default picks were more than the points I'd received. You can try it and see what points you get if any. I'm not collecting money in for a while so you could join and see how you do and choose whether to continue or not when I collect money in.
Please pass me the link and see if I get any default picks. I think there are limited number of default picks and considering my account, I believe I already have used all of them long time ago. I can not remember though.

Pass me the link if I feel that the scores I get from the missing matches are good enough for me then I will be happy to pay the fees and join otherwise, I will ask you to remove me.

Thanks

Up 25 places last week and down ten this week.

Crazy win from Leicester, I indeed expected them to win but not in such fashion and I also back them with some bucks @ 2.90 ML

Looking at the bottom 15 users in the pool for this week, you'll be surprised with most of the names on it  Shocked Shocked

Leicester deserved the win as they were a far better team but the scoreline was misleading to me as Leeds came out strong the first half. Didn't deserve the last penalty goal either I thought. It was pissing it down with rain as well which made the play a bit hectic and unpredictable, though it seemed to effect Leeds more than the away team or Leicester certainly dealt with it better.

How is the winner determined in case that there are multiple player with same points?

You mean for the yellow cap? It's explained somewhere on their website I think. I think they give more weight to correct scores or something but there's multiple factors involved.

Like I said, I think you get 14 free picks but that's for the Premier League at least. Depending on what they picked you could get a fair few points from them. No harm in trying though. Bottom person is on 22.5 and there's only 12 people in the pool so it wouldn't be that difficult to move up the board. I'm sure one or two will drop out/not pay as well. I'll PM you the link shortly.

^ It's his opinion, let him be. He did well to get a title shot.

Conor is back in the mix now along with Ferguson, Poirier and Justin. There's also Michael Chandler from Bellator.

The Conor vs. Justin fight which is scheduled for January 2021 might be scrapped to give both guys a chance OR that fight itself will be for the vacant title.

I don't think either of them should be given a title shot, especially not Connor. Let him have a warm up fight or two then do a huge fight with someone like Masvidal or Diaz trilogy. Those are the fights people want to see. I wonder if Khabib will stick to his word and not come back. Seems he might not be gone for good:

https://talksport.com/sport/mma/781551/dana-white-khabib-nurmagomedov-ufc-record-30-0/

A rematch with Connor for his 30th fight would surely be the biggest UFC bout in history. Maybe he can persuade his mother for one more fight... or she can persuade him.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/13033584/ufc-khabib-nurmagomedov-foot-x-ray/

Let's get back on Khabib and problems he had before this match with broken foot and X-ray proving that!
Dana White said something about that in press conference after the fight, but now we have proofs.
Khabib was dominating even in this conditions, and that makes him a legend and best pound-for-pound figthers in UFC without any doubt.
He is man of his word, but I think some of his brothers will continue his work in UFC Wink

This shows that he is not a football player lol.

I'm not trying to say that Khabib is not the greatest and not a legend (he sure is), but Michael Bisping had 11 fight in career fighting only with 1 eye. After the fight with Belfort his right eye retinal was detached. He got a surgery and fight fight artificial eye and even become Middleweight champ. Dana and UFC only 3-4 fight found out that Bisping is fighting with only 1 eye, but let him continue fighting till Bisping retired in 2018.

Always makes me laugh when footballers go down after getting a flick in the face or a toe to the shin. Imagine if MMA fighters did this. Also, how the hell did Bisping pass medicals and stuff and they not spot he only has one eye. Would he have been allowed to fight if that was discovered?

Don't forget there's a game on tonight. Five people missed the Friday night game last week and all missed out on the default points because I'm guessing Leeds were the underdogs there.

I have had few shit round and it seems I am losing confidence on the pool.

Round 6  : 7 points , top 15
Round 5 : 2 points , top 12.50

When rounds has so many draw, I suck big time LOL

Hopefully in this round we won't have many draw matches. I hate it!

Well I was dead last place last round and now I'm 25th so it's too early to lose faith, especially when you can still win a free $50 bet every week. I wouldn't really concentrate on where you are in the league right now as there's nothing you can do about that so just do your best and with a good round or two or three you can climb up the board quite quickly.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: October 30, 2020, 09:57:32 AM
So, I missed the joining and I think now it is too late to join since two rounds, 32 matches already missed. Sorry hilariousetc that I could not keep my word. I was not online for last three weeks and in this time all these were stalled. I am hoping to join you guys in the next year. Good luck to you all!

Same. I went for a narrow 1-0 win. United are all over the place right now. Usually O don't have the confidence in them to back a win but then they surprise you. Didn't think Barca would beat Juve either especially away but missing Ronaldo is obviously a huge things, but taking that into consideration I went for the draw. I wonder how long he's going to be out?

Ronaldo? Well, as far as I know he's just waiting for a negative COVID test. He tested positive for the first time approximately 2 weeks ago and I read that he's been tested like 20 times already, all positive.

I think he has to be negative 24h before the game to be able to play, and from what we know he's got no symptoms and could play as soon as he's cleared to. So, probably a matter of days.

Yeah, but if he keeps testing positive then they'll never let him back. Most people seem to be fine after two weeks. I wonder what sort of tests they do? Could be a false positive.

Off to a good start so far in first place surprisingly. Usually not that good at predicting most of the Champion's League match ups but got nearly all the outcomes right and four exact scorelines. Had an eight-fold accumulator on Tuesday and they all came in apart from the Porto draw I picked which was annoying.

don't be modest. You destroyed this round, only two missed picks. I hope you make some money from bookies with your good predictions in the last days.

Well there's not much point being cocky because you can win one round then get next to zero points the next. I'm not normally that good on the CL because I don't know half the teams so it was just luck really. As for betting, I'm £50 down this season so far but I'm several thousands in profit in the long run so I don't worry too much about. I don't bet huge amounts though. Usually £25 a week but I like big odds stuff so when I win it's usually a decent chunk.
932  Other / Meta / Re: Ledger database leak --> Phishing on: October 29, 2020, 09:53:49 AM
I got one and it does look very convincing if you don't pay attention. I actually assumed it was legit at first but don't have any money in my ledger wallet so I wasn't that bothered by it and didn't take any action. It's pretty annoying that businesses like this can't keep your details safe, especially when having them leaked could cause major thefts or much worse if your home addresses were leaked as well. I wonder if there can or will be lawsuits over stuff like this? It seems it's not that uncommon for exchanges to get compromised and people's KYC details are leaked and will always find their way onto the internet somehow which is very dangerous. If companies can't be trusted to keep this stuff safe then I think they should start to face consequences.

I was really surprised with Man Utd crushing Leipzig 5:0. I expected Germans to do much better and take maybe a point here but it seams they just broke at the end of the match or maybe Rashford really wanted to prove that he has to play from minute one Smiley

I think the league is quite open this season, especially with Liverpool losing Djyk. I thought teams like Everton and Villa could have done something this season but they both went and lost their last games. Villa still have a game in hand though. Would be nice to see a different team win it.
Would you say the season is more unpredictable that the previous ones (if that's the case) because of the pandemic? Is it because of the lack of audience plus general uncertainty, or perhaps the pandemic has nothing to do about it, and it's just a coincidence. I remember a few round ago you've said that the first few rounds were the worst in your experience of predicting, so I was wondering if you believe that this season is truly very different and why so if yes.

Hard to say. Could be a coincidence but could also be down to other factors like you said. To me teams can be shaky at the start as they find their footing and form, but there will also be anomaly years as well and maybe the lack of audiences has played a part, but I'm a bit sceptical of how much they make a difference if any at all. There have been some very high scoring games this season but again, could just be an anomaly.  Really didn't expect Leeds to be doing as well as they have but can they keep it up for the rest of the season? Maybe, maybe not. They've already played City and Liverpool and were unlucky not to get more than one point from them total and if you can play well against them then there's no reason why you can't beat anyone else. Will Villa and Everton keep playing well or will they gradually fall down the table? I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the season plays out and what the table looks like at the end of the season. Maybe crowds will be back by the second half and if they do maybe see how it at all that effects teams form. I noticed there was crowds at some of the European games but it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon in the UK as they're on about more stricter lockdowns.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 28, 2020, 04:43:14 PM
Nothing's changed but ref's need to start clamping down on it like they did with players trying to take free kicks ten meters from where they were given hence the introduction of the magic spray. If players take the piss with the run ups they should start giving them the opposite way like what happens with a foul throw. They usually walk as far as they can then take the run up from there which takes them even further down the field.

Yeah, it never was a big deal for me before but I thought I saw it being way overdone a couple of times and it's definitely an advantage to get in 6/7 strides away from actual out. Probably needs to happen a bit more for it to get noticed by refereeing bodies, although then it'd be super strict after...

It's just one of those things players take liberties with and will keep doing it if they can get away with it. They probably should start clamping down on it a bit more like they did with free kicks. I'm not saying get the magic spray out but if they take the piss with it they should be given the other way. Some refs do blow the whistle and tell the players to move back if they spot it but it should be pulled up more.

I had a good week as well, moved up more than 10 spots to go back where I was before. Winning sportsbet's other contest was very special,,, and the results really went my way (especially the Leicester one I guess which not many people took). So I will not forget this week in a long time:)

All is not important to me however if Spurs do not get Champions League football!

Spurs are looking good this season, I don’t think they have enough to be champions but they are certainly good enough to get into the CL, I have no doubts about that.

I think the league is quite open this season, especially with Liverpool losing Djyk. I thought teams like Everton and Villa could have done something this season but they both went and lost their last games. Villa still have a game in hand though. Would be nice to see a different team win it.

So how did Chelsea not get a penalty when Maguire was MMA grappling the Chelsea player? VAR is a joke. I've seen VAR give them when a player is holding a fibre of the attackers shirt yet Maguire is practically throttling the player holding him down and no penalty given. If he hadn't done that the Chelsea player likely would have got his head to it.
This really needs to change. VAR just makes all those calls which fall into ref judgement area very exposed and we need to have clear rules what is penalty and what isn't. Foul situations will always be a grey area but I am totally pissed with hand balls. That one should be regulated without any doubt. Either make it in way that every hand ball is the penalty or make it that it is penalty only if there is clear intention to play with the hand. This way everybody feels like they are getting worse treatment.

The question everybody asks when they watch EPL. In La Liga at least, even if I disagreed that the VAR penalty on Ramos was correct (he even somehow dived the wrong way of the direction his shirt was tugged!), at least I can say the decisions, although wrong, were reviewed, and were quite consistent. Pulling shirt is a foul whether or not the guy fell or dived, for example.

But in EPL? Var or no VAR, the decisions are so inconsistent. Whether or not the Chelsea player felt it, or fell, or whatever, Maguire obviously fouled no question, arms around a player, and nobody on earth can understant these things.

It was a penalty, but he did exaggerate it also which is what players tend to do. It's the same as when a player is fouled but he remains upright and carries on the foul isn't given, yet if he dives and throws himself on the floor the ref will give it so that's what they usually do. It's getting annoying to me now when players start rolling around on the floor acting like they've been mortally wounded looking for the foul or a card.

Yup, it's unbelievable this was not given. You can give all the technology to them, but if the referees aren't good enough you did not really help them - you're probably just making things worse.

Bottom line - I think they should bring in referees from other countries. The PL is already considered as an early version of the Super League that's in the making and it sets really high standards in almost all areas - except for refereeing where it's borderline tolerable at best.

I don't think it's about foreign referees. Refs get briefed about how to implement rules by their own governing bodies so it's something that needs to change at the top.

Feeling good with 15 points, and that lifted me up 20 positions... just a reminder to everyone how a week of good results can propel you proper.
Been a while since I got 2 exact scores in a row. Let's see how shit I do next week;)

I moved up from last place all the way to joint 24th last round so it shows you how easy it is to move up as that's half the table. Just need to keep up the pace now to make up ground.

P.S. what's the rule on throw ins these days? Pretty sure Sheffield had a couple of throw-ins 15 yards from where the ball actually went out -- they just ran there, picked up ball and threw in. I know it's always lenient and nobody moans about 5 yards but I've seen a number of times now esp now during Covid with fewer ballboys and more balls near the pitch... not being pedant, just something niggling at me.

All you can do is contact the police, but I'd be very surprised if you got your money back or they found the person but maybe they've been sloppy somewhere and left a digital trail but I'm not sure how thorough the police go into these sorts of cybercrimes. Was there a reason why you were ok with investing 50k into a random cryptocurrency? That's a lot of money to invest in anything and if a person didn't scam you and you invested in 'legit' coin you could have easily just of lost that. Maybe post the txids here and someone can look into where the funds went but I really wouldn't get your hopes up sadly.

If Aston Villa wins Leeds today, it will be able to climb to the top of the league table! Probably, it will be an interesting match. Odds, by the way, do not differ much - 2.3/3.1...

As much as I want Leeds to win or get a point I think Villa are going to continue their winning streak here. Kalvin Phillips is out and the loss Leeds suffered last week made me lose faith in them a little bit. I'd avoid betting on this match to be honest as a draw wouldn't surprise me and I think it will be a low scoring game.

Aston Villa has is still at the second top of the table so far, they have been the only club that has not played any draw or loss match this season. It is playing with Leeds United, when it played with stronger clubs, he won't them. I do not think Leeds match today should be a problem but only be a 3 point match for Villa, let us expect Villa above Everyone today as it will play its fifth match.

They have a game in hand as well so if they win this they'll be two points in front. I wouldn't concern myself with who's at the top of the table at such an early stage of the season though but it will certainly give Villa a confidence boost.

So apparently the main fight is going to be around 10PM GMT so I won't have to stay up for it which is always annoying with the UFC. Abu Dhabi is in a very similar time zone to the UK but this is the first fight they've put on at a reasonable time for some reason.

^ I'm liking how Justin is carrying himself. Khabib has probably seen all types of trash talking and online bullying from most of his opponents and Justin's humble and calm approach isn't something he sees too often. I don't think that's going to affect Khabib's mentality that much but he probably senses danger. Did I sound too dramatic?  Grin

Not everyone trashtalks and a lot of guys have respect for each other like these two seemingly do. Trashtalking is just mindgames and it might work on the weak-minded if they let it get in their head and lose composure during the fight. Khabib let it get to him a little in the last fight but not enough to make mistakes but it's often not good going into a fight angry and you can get reckless and that's what trashtalking attempts to do. It's also good to sell a fight but I don't want to see it every fight especially if it's just faked for views and to pump up interest. I don't think this fight needs it to be honest and I'd rather them do the "talking" in the ring.
