Didn't come out nearly as good as yours Sad

It's the green. maybe use the yellow, instead?
Embarrassed woops, color-blindness

Heres my attempt at the band of light thing:

Didn't come out nearly as good as yours Sad

Or maybe:

Nice! It seems like it needs something though, and I can't figure out what it is...
Edit: Got it! Animation! I'm picturing the band of light moving across the coin.

I think I'll try and make that faded gold one that genjix wanted. Expect results to be disastrous because of my color-blindness.
If these are not the right colors, please tell me which I should use

I don't really like these ones either. I think I'm pushing too hard to try and be creative, but I'm having fun with it at least. I think I'll try and make that faded gold one that genjix wanted. Expect results to be disastrous because of my color-blindness.

I'm watching more and more people pop up in my state. I can't wait until there is people in the same city as me! That is, if there are other bitcoiners where I am.

I don't think these came out very well, but I'm posting them anyway. I encourage you to edit them yourselves if you have an idea like myrkul did. Suggestions

Here's my hack-job:

I used the color from the palette that was directly beneath the main color.
I redid yours with a transparent background in png format (JPG's try to smooth out the edges, and we don't want that in this case.) Also, 2 different sizes. Thanks again for contributing. It's really hard for me to do shading and lighting due to my color blindness.

Lol, I just got home, and was about to try the band of light thing, but looks like you beat me to it! Smiley Anyway, it looks good!

  • Half the size for coin and halve the pixel size.
  • Use low-key colours- give it a faded gold look.
  • Add a bit of shine in a band across them.
Here is the half sized one:

As for giving it a faded gold look, do you think you could pick out a few colors from the palate in my first post for that? I'm colorblind, so I have trouble with faded colors.  Sad

I don't know much about licenses. What would be the most free license?

MOST free is Public domain... What you're looking for is probably Creative Commons: http://creativecommons.org/choose/
ok, I think this is the right one: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/
But I don't really care if you give me credit. I just don't want people to claim it as their own.
936  Other / Off-topic / Re: 8-bitcoin on: February 27, 2011, 05:11:07 PM
What license? Am I free to use these in my next site?
I don't know much about licenses. What would be the most free license? I don't care what you use them for, and I don't care if you even give me credit. Well, as long as you don't claim it as your own. So not the most free actually.
Suggestions:
Half the size for coin and halve the pixel size.
Use low-key colours- give it a faded gold look.
Add a bit of shine in a band across them.
Thanks, I'll try these suggestions as soon as I can.

So, kinda satoshi miamoto, huh? Wink

I'm liking the last one.
Thanks, the last one is my favorite so far too.
938  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Liberty Reserve? READ THIS NOW! on: February 27, 2011, 07:02:50 AM
I tried creating an account on liberty reserve and it didn't work.  I kept getting an "invalid turing number" error.  Are they no longer accepting new accounts?

It sounds like you didn't provide the correct response to their captcha.  That's probably what "turing" refers to.

It is, but I tried about 20 times, and I have no trouble with captchas.  Someone else should try and see what happens.
austin's right. I just tried to make an account and got the same error. They're really, really easy captchas too.

I'm trying to make an 8-bit bitcoin. That is, an expanded 16 by 16 pixel image of a bitcoin using only the colors available on the NES. So I have two things I want from you.
1) Suggestions (Mainly on how I should shade with such a limited palate)
2) Feedback on which one(s) you think look best

These are the colors that were available to the NES:

Here's what I have so far. There is no shading, because I couldn't find a way for it to look good with this palate. Suggestions appreciated.

The following are thanks to myrkul:

Edit: If you like any of these, go ahead and use them.
Edit2: Took the ones I really didn't like, let me know if anyone wants them back

#bitcoin-otc has a rating system. You can rate users after making transactions with them. That way, you can look at the users rating to see if he's trustworthy or not.
