According to the paper of satoshi,

If we suppose blocks are generated every 10 minutes, 80 bytes * 6 * 24 * 365 = 4.2MB per year.
The blocks are generated about every 10 minutes all the time. And it has only been 4 years since it launched in 2009, it should be 16.8 MB. Where did I go wrong?
That would be a block with 0 transactions  Cheesy

Nothing stop women to come and learn about bitcoin, how it works, use it etcetc. On the internet, gender does not matter.

Why they aren't interested? That is a question feminists should answer  Roll Eyes

Good luck attacking SHA-256  Smiley

Off topic but do we know why the military suggest moving to SHA3?.. maybe it's less secure and they'd prefer everyone use that?.. I couldn't find a pseudo-code for SHA3 to check it over.
I have no idea. I trust SHA-2 more than SHA-3, because it has been tested for more years and despite that, no flaw was found.

Breaking news: US laws are only for US  Shocked

Breaking news - your wrong. US AML Laws can be enforced via treaty in other nations, especially if you are holding USD, exchanging USD, or dealing with American in any other currency.

True, but a treaty means that the other nations too accepted the US laws.

The paper concludes by suggesting an interpretation of the Fund’s incorporating document, the Articles of Agreement, which would allow it to intervene in the event of such an attack.
I'm sure your document, that mighty ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, will allow you to intervene against the laws of math.

Good luck attacking SHA-256  Smiley

This is a classic case of "squeeze the balloon" when it comes to regulation or shutdowns - it merely displaces it somewhere else.

With the announced adoption of Litecoins by MtGox, you would probably prefer go for Litecoins. The speculative opportunity is greater (if it's what you're looking for).
Anyway in a few months with all the asics shipping you would be able to get anything on bitcoin

Ok thanks Smiley Also what do you mean with all the asic shipping?
The problem is that everyone want to buy ASICs but so far only one company actually delivered them, and only few of them (like some hundreds or so). Even if you order one today, expect to wait months

After all the Bitcoins have been mined, do Bitcoin ASICs become nothing more than really neat looking paperweights and conversation pieces? What are your thoughts on this?
You don't even know how Bitcoin works and despite that you are happily judging everything?
960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New To Mining, GUIMiner can't find GPU. on: May 30, 2013, 01:47:40 PM
A recent ATI card, something between 5000/6000/7000. It depends on how much you want to spend. But please note that bitcoin mining is every day more and more done by ASICs, not gpu, so investing today in gpus may not be a good idea.
