Good thing nobody has added any of the new gpus to mining eth....why that might increase nethash...ya think.
942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock H110 Pro BTC + motherboard Issue on: December 25, 2020, 03:13:09 PM
Get the Y cable the plugs between the primary psu and mobo.  The third leg of the Y goes to psu #2 and turns them on together.

Couple of things:

Gpus should be on risers.

Riser and gpu should be powered by the same PSU...do not mix riser power from psu1 and power card with psu2.  Thats a nono.
Mobo and all its connections (24pin / cpu power plug and molex 4 pins should all be off psu1.

To test if it works you can do without the Y cable.  But you have to run both PSU on at the same time.

Cable is like this:

any info/ideas why on windows 7 1080ti ETH hashrate dropped from ~48MH to ~18MH?

same here with 1060 @Win7 x64,  hash rate dropped to 17MH

so my 1080ti turned to 1060...jeeez fuck! LOL

windows 7 yet seriously? hehe

yes, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".....worked for me since i started mining and maybe it is time to move to something else.

Well its broke now.

Explains why the hash grew so much in 2019....

A new coin that's captured my interest that doesn't suffer from centralization.

shit link removed

Ive been using Nbminer for nvidia cards for last week.  Works pretty well.  only have 3.5GH on eth.
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Mem Tweak XL - Read/modify timings/pp/straps on the fly on: December 23, 2020, 08:13:53 PM

Your Core and Memory Control are way out of desired values. Try P7 1150/850 and P3 940/825 first, than try to play with timings.

EDIT: Huh, also decrease temp limits or upper fan curve keeping memory temp in 60-65 degrees range.

Wow, the P7 and P3 settings pushed it to 42 MH/s! Thanks a lot!

I have no idea what to try in timings, as i dont understand the technical background. Any suggestions?

Non modded vega56 on mmpos....53.19mhs core 1090 / mem 1020 / vlt 0.835  130watts.
should be 54.9mhs 1100/1026@787mv @ 112watts ...

This card is very old Rev 1....i cant keep stable above 1090 /1020...and if i lower volts it hangs.  So its ok with the miles its seen.

I dont think its flashed, hard to remember which ones i flashed and not. Anyhow these sapphire cards have dual bios so i tried to switch but results seems to be the same around 7 sols .

Ravencoin and ETC seems to work just fine at standard hashrates hence why i was abit thoughtful about the beam hashrate i was getting.

Yes something is wrong. I get 7 - 8 sols with a RX560 (1200 gpu / 2100 mem) and around 16 sols with a RX470 4GB (1150 gpu / 2050 mem). What hashrates you have on ETC and Raven?

That seems correct for 550/560 series card vs 470/570 card.  About 1/2 the Eth hash and about 1/2 the sols.

948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen ETH from my Ledger on: December 23, 2020, 04:11:01 PM
I had the same problem on 21 January 2019 I receive a replacement for my Ledger Nano S due the firmware upgrade, ...

Do You mind explaining "replacement due firmware upgrade"?

Because the old hardware version of Nano S should be replace in order to upgrade the firmware

Um that has not been my experience.  Mine is an original Nano S still working just fine.  All firmware upgrades have been done through the ledger app and only through the official app.
I think you found your issue.
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NBMiner v13.2, Nvidia GPU Miner for Grin, BTM, ETH on: December 23, 2020, 04:09:15 PM
New version update
V14.0. Grin

Strange, but on my mixed Nvidia rig (1060, 1070, 1070Ti), I don't see any change in hashrate when using "--mt"
Tried values from 1 to 5.

I believe it is usefull for 1080 & 1080TI only

Works on GDDR5X memory found in 1080 and 1080ti.
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI RX580 8GB Samsung Mem Blower vs. Open Air Fan BIG Power Difference... WHY? on: December 23, 2020, 04:05:47 PM
The watt meter (kill-a-watt) will give you the firm answer.
I think you will find the blower cards use a bit more power on the fan than regular 2x or 3x fan units.  The blower is a much higher static pressure than the little prop fans.

my 5700xt are

core 1350
mem 920
vlt 800

gets 53+mhs ~ 105 watts

no mods to bios

is it possible for 4GB cards to use computer ram or use another 8GB ram cards?

No ram is way too slow for what is needed here.  Vram is required.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.7.22 - Nimiq/Kawpow/Ethash/Etchash/Cryptonight and More on: December 23, 2020, 01:49:00 PM
4GB CARDS ARE DEAD--

So, LolMiner has implemented "ZombieMode".  There are tricks to stuff more than 4GB of data into 4GB of VRAM, but they are limited.  Programmers are spending too much effort on the 4GB cards for mining ETH.

I do not know the specifics, but if you like zombie horror flicks, you may know that the flesh on zombies is rotting and falling off.  Substitute the word "performance" for "flesh", and you picture in your mind the future for mining ETH with a 4GB GPU.

I mine BeamIII with my 3GB 1060 cards.  At times, the payout is better than mining ETH.  Simply apply the 4GB cards on a different algo.

--scryptr

For 3gb cards sure.  For 4gb cards still getting 27mhs....which is $1.17 a card on ETH vs $0.52 on beam.   Makes the maths simple.  Will need to fall below 12mhs before Beam is more profitable to mine than Eth on those cards.

1350 core / 920 mem / 775 volt = 53.22mhs on my 5700xt cards Smiley

Only the Thicc XFX unit got 1400 / 910 / 775. 52.72 mhs.

Power shows 105watts.  Memory temp 80 and under Asic Temp 60 and under.

No bios mods.  MMPOS

Hey!
Trying out Beam  on a rx 470 4gb, running  undervolted and 1050 core 1750 mem  getting around 7.5sol/s     around what is normal ?

No, on whattomine a rx 470 should do 13.5 s/s. There must be something wrong somewhere.

Wonder if he flashed his bios for eth and not helping for beam.

do i understand correctly that this miner is designed to work only on amd gpus?

That would be the Team Red part.  Nvidia is called Team Green.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminers E3 still alive for ETH? on: December 22, 2020, 01:30:55 AM

No they changed the Algo specifically to prevent asics from being able to mine it.

I agree with you about the Algo, and I think this is the part that I'm missing and confuse
I believe the Algo is managed by the software.
For example, PhoenixMiner 5.2 and older versions can't mine the new ETC algo, but the new ones over 5.3 no problem.
From a hardware point, there should be no difference between GPUs and Ant E3. They both are GPUs.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
By the way, Ant E3 was the most profitable asic miner ever. More than 2 years and a half and still profitable. Is unbelievable. And I'm sure E3 can continue to work fine, but I don't believe bitmain will release new firmware
Hope someone will found a way to patch the software Smiley

[/quote]

Asics in your bitmain and all others are good for only the specific algos they have been designed and made for.  The miner software in this case is basically feeding the raw data and receveing and conveying the results back to the pool.  In a gpu setup the order and types of operations are coded in the miner software but it relies on the big complex gpu.  So gpus can quickly adapt to any change in algos where asics take a lot of time and money to develop.
