941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you like to get the private key for any address you want? on: August 14, 2016, 09:28:21 AM
Hey Guys,

If you would be able to get the full private key for one address for free... would you accept this offer?

-> If yes which address and why?

Best regards,

Patrick Grin

If this opportunity would offered to me then I would choose one of the first addresses generated by satoshi and that has balance on it because people want to own one of the earliest address in the bitcoin history or an address that does not have an owner.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cyrpto vs Fiat on: August 14, 2016, 09:22:30 AM
I don't know if this thread has been created before, but I would like to know your opinion on Cryptocurrency versus Fiat.

If you could tell me why too. What are the benefit of each?  Smiley

Each of them fiat and crypto has its own place in our lifes, sometimes it is better to make payments on bitcoin rather on fiat because of the time that takes but also the fees which are much lower on bitcoin.
If you need to pay in fiat through credit card then it is a good way to use paypal to cover the card details and more secure.

In most of the cases, especially here in my country, in terms of fast transactions, bitcoin and fiat transfers/payments almost have no difference. I have a bank account that has an online banking which transfer is really instant, the same way I experienced in using bitcoin.

And Im sure it's present now in most of the countries as my country considered as still in third world country but it already has a services like that.

Maybe the transaction speed is the same or faster than bitcoin but are the fees the same or at least similar? I doubt!
Sometimes fiat is better and faster and zero fees but sometimes making international transfers it takes lots of fees and time.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Amazon.com still resisting the use of BTC for payment? on: August 14, 2016, 08:32:08 AM
Amazon does accept Bitcoin in a way. Go to Gyft or a similar site and using Bitcoin to buy an Amazon gift card. End of problem.

We already know this but people are worried about accepting and spending bitcoin directly to Amazon, so from sending the money from your bitcoin wallet to amazon directly without going to third party websites buying giftcards and then spending to amazon.
Integrating bitcoin on Amazon requires investment and lots of people to maintain it which I think amazon could afford it.
944  Economy / Services / Re: Love Video Games? Looking for Reviewers and Twitch Influencers on: August 14, 2016, 08:27:45 AM
Do you love video games?  Playing the new hits?  Are you waiting for the next AAA to drop?

  • I'm looking for any solid gamers that would like to write legit reviews of 500+ characters.  All legitimate, well written reviews will receive a USD$5 coupon code for Satoshi Direct.

I'm interested in the first one, I should first require the games and what specifics does that game requires so I have to choose or not a good PC with a good graphic card to play it and then write a review.
Should I send you the review as a plain text or should I post it somewhere?
945  Economy / Economics / Re: What would it actually take to make BitCoin the most used currency in the world? on: August 14, 2016, 08:20:29 AM
What would need to happen to the global economy to actually make Bitcoin take over in place of National Currency like, USD, CAD or EURO?

So many people on here are banking on this happening one day, many even openly use this as a reason to invest in coins like Monero.
So I ask you, what do you think it would it actually take to make that happen?

WW3? An Asteroid, Alien Invasion?

When bitcoin starts to be controlled by those who control USD/EUR then bitcoin will start to have a different price.
But bitcoin is not designed to be used as an National currency because people have access to the blockchain and all transaction are public which some people don't like this.
Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros, they’re produced by people and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, no single institution controls the bitcoin network. This puts some people at ease, because it means that a large bank can’t control their money.

Because of this bitcoin can't rise rapidly and be used by most of the people or at least a whole country!
Even though the bitcoin price goes high, number of people using it should be increased everytime to be used by a country after a time.
946  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Udemy course wanted, on: August 14, 2016, 08:12:49 AM
Recently I haven't found any udemy downloader but I was able to find one of the udemy courses that you are looking for, please check your PM.
There were a few udemy rippers around on this forum but I don't know what happened to all of them.

It's not needed to make a chat here but focusing if we can find the udemy course that V.Lace is looking for, I found few links for one udemy course which I haven't tested yet because of the bandwidth limit that I currently have so OP please let me know if that is working.

it keeps telling me that i get the captcha wrong and have to wait an hour.  even though I did type the catpcha right.  Ill keep trying it

I will try to download tonight or tomorrow maximum, it's just a regular file hosting website which if we don't have a premium account we should wait sometimes for hours to download a file, the captcha shouldn't be an issue seems strange, write immediately the captcha after that page is loaded!
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: August 13, 2016, 08:20:01 PM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

We don't know in which situation can bitcoin replaced by another one, but bitcoin should go to $0 and then something else will come.
Bitcoin is unique and it's the first one in the cryptoworld and has a large support from the dev and from the community so I doubt bitcoin can be replaced.
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitGo, Coinbase Vaut or Paper Wallet for secure long term storage on: August 13, 2016, 08:06:42 PM
For long term storage, it's good to use resources that do need to be accessed offline without needing to backup often.
You can backup the encrypted wallet.dat on usb but you need to put this usb on PC after a while because it can corrupt or lost the files, so electrum, bitcoin core works well.

955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What gives Altcoins value and make traders trade in them? on: August 13, 2016, 05:01:39 PM
The developers first give a start value of these altcoins and limit the number of total coin to be distributed for everyone, then an ICO starts which the price of this coin goes higher after each phase then after a time(which developers tells when) the coin can be traded by everyone and starts to be listed in the exchanges, and at this stage it depends how many people are investing/interested to invest and the pump and dump can be seen at this stage.
956  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-08-07] Kim Dotcom Says That Megaupload 2.0 Will Use Bitcoin on: August 13, 2016, 04:59:29 PM
Quote
“Nobody will upload to any other cloud after Megaupload’s Bitcache goes live. 100 million Bitcache wallets,” he said this morning.

What is Bitcache wallet? I haven't heard before about this term and maybe lots of us don't know what is and what are the differences from a normal bitcoin wallet.
The news about Megaupload to be alive again on the scene is good and really want to see whats innovative this time and how bitcoin can be used there.

Right now there is already a project bitcache the link to that is in the article I posted, but is not what he is talking about, he is just unaware that someone else is already using that name.
And in this moment we don't have any details about what Kim is talking about but I guess he wants to make something like counterparty http://counterparty.io

So yeah, we just have to wait and see what he will do!

Not sure if megauplaod will be something like counterparty!

however, one could assume that Bitcache is a network where users can pay for files using Bitcoin.

Then the price of files would depend from its size?
I don't think this could make bitcoin price go to moon!
This can be something like paying the uploaders for upload their files and based on the number of downloads!
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on Mr.Robot Season 2 on: August 13, 2016, 04:56:25 PM
Mr Robot new episode came out yesterday and It seems like Bitcoin has been mentioned, I didn't watch the episode yet but according to telegraph.co.uk :

Quote
Several eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the new episode featured a Bitcoin-branded truck. With the global economy in freefall following the finale of season one, perhaps the digital payment system has overtaken the US dollar as a more stable unit of currency.
See more about the episode here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/on-demand/2016/07/11/how-the-internet-reacted-to-the-mr-robot-season-2-leak/

I started to watch Mr.Robot Season 1 and saying the truth it's hard to understand whats going on, even though I understand the expressions (technology terminology) but it's hard to understand whats going on.
Started also watching the first episode of Season 2 but stopped after 10-15 minutes but will check now at minute 21st where bitcoin is mentioned but bitcoin is known by non-bitcoin related people as a dirty money, a currency that is only used by hackers.
For most people (and people who watch Mr. Robot specifically) there is some appeal that comes from having Bitcoin being referenced as a form of dirty money. It makes them feel cool or clandestine in their own way, and for some people they like that. Most people who like the show probably like thinking of themselves as a hacker or whatever. For some people that's just cool, and they might get involved with Bitcoin due to the relative ease of starting out.

Thinking that we are hackers just because we use bitcoin then this is not true, we know something that others don't know about cryptocurrencies but this does not makes us hackers because bitcoin just another currency!

960  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: August 13, 2016, 03:35:41 PM
In Europe there is a hot new pertaining to a company whose going to introduce paying bitcoins to their employees. But given the instability of the bitcoins market value is it an advantage for the employees or an disadvantage. In my opinion this kind of payment for salary is not yet beneficial to employees not until bitcoins price has become stabled. Though if bitcoin will start to increase its monetary value it can be advantageuos but if not then it is a peril to the employees. So what do you think, what is your opinion on this matter?

Saying the truth it is risky to receive the salary on bitcoin because the bitcoin price is not as stable that we can risk the salary to receive in bitcoin.
If I would spend them (and have where to spend through bitcoin) then it would be great, but what I have to do is to convert on fiat (paying lots of fees) and then use the money.

Yeah its not smart to accept salary in bitcoin, it can be risky as your income will depend on the price of bitcoin, sometimes it will be too high and sometimes it will be too low.

This is one of the reason but there is an opportunity to skip this risk because if people who want to receive the salary on bitcoin can invest on things that its value in bitcoin will not be dropped like the physical bitcoins.
