941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: July 31, 2017, 02:45:23 PM
Daniel Cormier has finally made an announcement after the loss. He took an entire day off from saying anything. In his instagram he congratulated Jon Jones and his team, but he doesn't say he is retiring, neither does he say he will continue.

He is 38 year old, so it may be time to retire, even tho he was looking good. I think he should move to another weight decision and get a belt there to not end your career with the bad feeling of getting KO.
942  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's failing banking system. (#23 trending video on YouTube right now) on: July 30, 2017, 05:44:42 PM
Whether we like it or not banking system will survive. We all know that banks have caused so many world economic crisis, corruption, and troubles but they survive every time, and this world still depends on them. This will not be changed for a while now. Bitcoin has started the revolution in that direction, but this is still not enough.

This, people, are going to have to understand and accept that the banks are never going just to vanish -- Bitcoin isn't going to tear these people apart and all, they're going to survive through whatever we throw at them. Cause at the end of the day, these are the people that have the money and have an INSANE amount of influence over the rules and laws that are made in this country.

Plus, if the banks did have a problem they're way too big to fail, and the government would YET AGAIN pay for an injection into the banks, this would stop the mass unemployment and economic shock that would be caused if the banks failed.

Excellent video though, liked it a lot, and I do hope everyone was visiting watches it as well!

It all depends on for how long the inevitable collapse can be delayed. One would need to be under heavy delusion pills to not see how the current levels of debt aren't sustainable. Governments all around the world flaunt about their unemployment numbers getting better, meanwhile they never address the fact that the debt never stops growing, and that these unemployment numbers are tricked: they just divide an existing job in 2, and make 2 low quality, low paying temporary jobs and call it 2 less unemployed people.

I don't know if BTC can replace the banking system, but I know it will be insanely valuable in the future because all fiat currencies are going to be under major turbulence.
943  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: ELI5 spoonnet on: July 30, 2017, 05:30:59 PM
There's isn't much beyond the official mailing list:

https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2017-February/013542.html

This is a critique about it that i've found on /r/bitcoin:

Quote
Unfortunately, the Spoonnet proposal lacks rationele or even statement of problem to be solved. Many grammar errors and structural problems make the proposal hard to understand (example: "A “backdoor” softfork the relax the size limit of Header 2 and Header 3"), so I wonder if that might contribute to the lack of discussion.

AFAICT, Spoonnet is a proposal to add a signaling mechanism for hard fork updates. It also appears, like segwit, to introduce a new block format. There could be something valuable here, but I'm not sure.

Looks like most people aren't even sure what it is except the few coding wizards involved. I guess it will take time until the "general public" learn why is it valuable (back then nobody knew anything about segwit)

Anyone knows when the stage 22 starts?

According to this message from manager: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1571148.msg15770755#msg15770755
Stage 22 was started yesterday.

What message? Your link just points to the OP, which says nothing about Stage 22.

Last month I already a problem with the payment, the guy was not around so there was a pretty big delay in the payment... he should be around more often, or else people start getting nervous.

946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 21, 2017, 10:27:54 PM
I watched highlights of Floyd's last fight with Andre Berto 2 years ago. Floyd looked slower, less technical and less athletic. He looks like he's getting old and his skills are deteriorating. Not certain if that will factor into his fight with Conor. Floyd admitting he's not as good a boxer today as he was 2 years ago.

We may have a better idea of how good a boxer Conor is after he spars with Malignaggi.

But Andre Berto isn't old and he is an elite boxer, sure he isn't the best of the best but winning a match against Andre Berto when Floyd didn't even try that hard shows the incredible skill of Floyd.

Conor is not even a boxer, so it should be easier for Floyd. Floyd always stays in shape, I don't think he aged that much, he is looking good.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: July 21, 2017, 09:57:20 PM
Haters always say that boxing is dead, specially MMA fans that want to take over the fighting game, but that will never happen, boxing is here to stay, lots of good fights coming.

GGG vs Canelo is a very difficult fight to predict. Power is not everything, skill beats power in boxing, but few have the skill of Floyd to win the powerpunchers, maybe Canelo doesn't have the skill to outbox someone as good as triple G.
I am a fight fan ,tell me one fight other than GGG and Canelo that was made at the right time in boxing in recent history, can you name one fight, big time egos are ruling the boxing world and they are destroying boxing and that is the fact, GGG is a beast without a doubt and this is a fight that i am really looking forward. Lot of interesting fights coming up and it is good for fight fans.

Well Anthony Joshua vs Klitschko was a nicely timed fight. Sure Klitschko is older, but it doesn't matter, it was the time to happen, the king vs the apprentice sort of fight. The rematch will be great too, Klitschko has good chances to take the belt back.

Klitschko vs Tyson Fury was also a fight fans wanted to see, even if it was not what we expected.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: July 21, 2017, 03:17:32 PM
Golovkin will crush Canelo for sure as he's the better and stronger man.

But I expected something more inserting for a gala as Canelo vs Golovkin is not ppv-selling match.

I think people are underrated Canelo. Canelo only lost to Mayweather, but then again, everyone loses to Mayweather.

He has now improved a lot, he has the experience, I think he can make it really difficult for Golovkin to get the job done, it will be a war, the best boxing match of the year for sure, probably better than AJ-Klitschko.

I'm also looking forward to the fight as well. It will definitely a war. This will be far the biggest challenge since he fought Floyd. However, I picking GGG to win this fight. This will be a long and hard battle and will be bloody for both of the warriors. Sure Canelo can punch but GGG has more power. I'm thinking a close decision in favor of GGG, I would surprise if Canelo got KO though. PPV numbers would be great as well, because hard core and even casual fans will be watching after the Floyd vs McGregor fight and the buzz will be still in boxing. Who says that boxing is dead?

This fight will be huge, I can't wait. There's also the Mayweater Macgregor superfight, and Golovkin Canelo is also coming soon. So many huge fights this summer, good year for the fighting game. I don't know who to bet for.

Don't think Canelo vs Golovkin will get some good numbers in tickets sales and PPV considering it's happening a little over three weeks after May vs Mac.  A better strategy would either be negotiate Canelo vs Golovkin to be an under card for May vs Mac (which is impossible, but would have been great), or move the fight for another month or two.

I don't think Canelo and Golovkin would have agreed to be anywhere but main card of the night, specially for a fight such as Mayweather vs an UFC guy... the fight will be great but for pure boxing fans is a bit of a joke.

Boxing fans want to see Canelo and Golovkin as main card in their own night so I think the date is set correctly. Real boxing fans would have bought this fight wit our without MayMac fight happening.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do Coin Prices Increase With Difficulty Levels? on: July 20, 2017, 02:44:59 PM
Difficulty increments mean more competition for the block rewards, which usually means the price is going up. It is sort of a chicken-egg problem, it's hard to see what comes first. Generally it's accepted that hashrate follows money, so the price increase happens before the hashrate increase because miners just follow the money, then it's a snowball effect of increasing hashrate and price.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DAO 2.0 - Ethereum Hacked! on: July 20, 2017, 02:02:37 PM
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/hacker-uses-parity-wallet-vulnerability-to-steal-30-million-worth-of-ethereum/

Question is will Vitalik decide to roll back the chain once gain?

Price speculation? I expect this incident to further solidify the bear trend for ETH sending it to sub $50usd.

ICO projects are gonna continue to panic sell as the life of their projects hang in the balance.

It just never seems to end with ETH..

This is BIGGER than the DAO. The dao hack was like $50 million worth of ETH. This one is near $100 million worth of ETH!! and growing, because more parity wallets keep getting hacked.

The hackers said they will return their funds to their owners but im yet to see that.

In other case, ETH got exposed as a disaster if you have any hopes of holding your money safely. Time to wake up from the delusion of thinking ETH will ever surpass BTC as the store of value of crypto.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: July 20, 2017, 12:32:56 PM
I still maintain my thesis. POSW will it's pump, it is a matter of patience, and most people lack patience, they aren't cut to baghold at a loss for a long time, I am and i will prove myself to be right once again, let's see who wins in the long term.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most UNDERVALUED Coin to pick up during this dump? on: July 20, 2017, 11:37:51 AM
Buy POSW aka Poswallet. It's on the floor, can't get lower, good updates coming. It will eventually get its good huge pump to a new ATH, just like all these other coins that randomly get pumped. Can't go wrong with holding some POSW.

Absolutely terrible reason for investing in a coin, if you only assume it's gonna go up because 'it will eventually get its good huge pump ... just like all these other coins that randomly get pumped'.

Investing is always kind of a gamble, but if you believe in a coin, if it serves a purpose and if the devs are actually doing what they claim they will do, then you have a coin that's worthy of being invested in. Otherwise you're just funding a potential pump and dump, which is very risky and only makes a handful of investors rich. If you want to build wealth, buy, hold, and accumulate less than a dozen different coins and watch them grow. You won't earn 100K with a 1K investment right away, but over time (+-10 years) you will have acumulated a whole bunch of coins worth 50 times each more than what you first paid for them. Believe me, this is the long yet easy way to build wealth. You might get lucky with a pump and dump, sure, but you have a vastly greater chance of becoming a millionaire in 10 years by accumulating bitcoin and a few other great altcoins right now. Buy the dips, sell a little bit during the highs and use that profit to accumulate even more. You'll be able to accumulate 1 or 2 bitcoins a year, and by the time they're worth 50K a piece you'll have 10 or 20 of them, and the same goes for the alts. By now they're worth no more than a couple of bucks a piece, so if you start accumulating now, and get a few hundred each year, again buying the dips and selling the highs to accumulate more, you'll have tens of thousands by the time they're worth 10, 20, 50, 100 bucks each. This is how you build wealth. More importantly, you'll learn how to read graphs, how to control your emotions during crashes, basically how to work with your money the way a sophisticated investor does, which means you'll be able to keep building your wealth all your life. Getting lucky doesn't teach you anything, I'm afraid.

There are good reasons to get on POSW aka Poswallet. The total supply, the circulating supply, the current price, the fact that ETH will go PoS and will get added in there is a big plus and will bring a bunch of noobs for easy staking while also staking a lot of other coins at the same time.

Look those are good reasons right there, but you wouldn't believe how many of my clients came to ask for help because they simply didn't have a strategy, or they go with 'coin xyz will grow because it's a lot lower than it's all time high, right?'

In the altcoin world all you need is the right supply and the right fundamentals and this coin has not properly pumped yet because it hasn't been added in any major exchanges. Once it gets on Bittrex it will get the obligatory megapump and it will go above $1. Go knows if it can get in Poloniex too eventually. If you want to get rich you must take high risks and holding POSW is a nice big risk to get big gains.

956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: https://bip148.org with version 1.0 UASF on: July 19, 2017, 04:35:56 PM

Hello, we've updated the site with downloads of bip148 / UASF
https://bip148.org/

- Gitian is done by us as usuall and doublechecked with http://uasf.co

- updated to uasf segwit 1.0
- renamed binary files to match naming on uasf.co
- provided a more comfortable flat CHECKSUMS file https://bip148.org/filehost-add/bitcoin-0.14.2.sums.sha256.asc
that files tree in gitian.signs can be sometimes a bit confusing

Will accept any good PRs to the site of course.

Would be great if people could help make this easy download site more popular, while convincing more people to go UASF/BIP148 and ensure SegWit activation despite problems with the Miners.

It looks like BIP91 will activate soon so BIP148 will not go into effect, which is clear to me because we are about to hit 80%+, but we can not back from the UASF. UASF is what has pushed segwit into the system even if BIP148 never goes into effect. Also get ready for when the hardforkers come back in a couple of months, never back down or these pesky hardforkers will hit you when you aren't paying attention.

We need to lock in segwit, once we lock in segwit then it's a done deal. But do't be too happy about it, because FakeSatoshi and Roger Ver + Bitmain camp will be back for Christmas trying to hardfork into their garbage. I predict it will be another defeat because only idiots will support ChinaCoin.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 19, 2017, 12:02:37 AM
I don't agree on it being the biggest fight, I could think of a huge list of bigger fights between actual opponents rather than this WWE like game, How can a MMA fighter do a boxing match with someone who is so good at Boxing? This match is an offense to boxing and just proves how anything can happen for money/

Well it's commissioned under the boxing official rules of Las Nevas Nevada boxing commission so it's a federated and approved boxing match, it is a real boxing match. We will see if it's a mismatch or not. Floyd may be the best ever, but he is old now at past age 40, let's see how he handles a bigger young guy. He should win but it will be interesting to see.

De La Hoya is 5'10'' and Floyd Mayweather gave him a boxing lesson and De La Hoya was a top ranked boxer.

Conor is 5'9'' and doesn't know how to box and has only fought bums that can't do any striking.

A lot of people thought De La Hoya beat Floyd & was robbed by the judges.

Even Floyd's dad said he thought De La Hoya won that fight.

Conor is 5'9. I think Floyd is 5'8. Floyd's frame is also thinner and less heavily muscled than Conor's.

Uncertain as to who the better athlete is. MMA is different with wrestling which leads to MMA fighters developing more core & leg strength than boxers.

Conor is constantly chewing gum during press conferences to exercise his jaw and strengthen it against punches. That's probably something many MMA fighters have never even heard of. Conor's base is boxing and in his early fights his boxing might have been better than it was during his early UFC fights.

Its really hard to make a technical analysis. No one has ever seen Conor box, seriously against a decent opponent and no one has seen a boxer like Floyd seriously box against an MMA fighter, before.

Floyd Mayweather won that fight, go see it again. I doubt Floyd Sr said that his son lost. It may have been when he had beef, I remember during a time Floyd Jr and Sr hated each other so he may have used that close decision to attack his son.

Diego Corrales was near 6 ft and Mayweather won too, and these are real boxers.
