941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 23, 2023, 05:12:24 AM
I came across this thread only today, sorry. But it was really interesting to read through it.

~ Betting on horse racing is estimated to be over €100 billion annually.!!!!
And here we had users telling me betting on horse racing is dying.!  Roll Eyes
~

€100 billion annually? Wow! I didn't know about that!

As for your questions in the OP, I've never bet on horse racing before, but if it's free or you propose much better odds than anywhere else, why not, I would try my luck, I think.

My only worry is, what's in it for you? I'm afraid you'll be just losing your money, my friend.

Anyway, thanks for opening this topic! You've mentioned "shitposting" two times in your first post and it appears it helped to avoid that kind of behaviour here. Smiley

~

Trump may be gaining steam and momentum, as so many predicted it could happen. In a normal world, we would agree those indictments would have ended his political career, but not in this bizarre context, he is getting more popular.

Well, the world has been like this for many thousands of years. People sympathize with the martyrs. Why? Because it's in our genes. Because those who didn't have this trait have died out more than a million years ago. Compassionate people are those who have survived. Now, this situation has been abused by some politicians for the last couple of millenia.

Also, Michelle has already confirmed in interviews she is not interested in going for the presidency and even if she tried, she won't be appealing enough to defeat Donald Trump, the democrat party is trying to go as safe as possible, with a white male with a long standing political career as Biden is.
It is kind of amusing you decided to toss some money on her and even she is not even running, you managed to get a win.

Yeah , gambling is an amazing thing sometimes. Smiley
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 23, 2023, 03:31:00 AM
No one can be always lucky, we all know that. But what some people don't know is that as we can be lucky for a long period of time, the opposite is true as well. Regardless of how many times we failed in the past, we can fail even more times in the future. If we don't have sufficient money, we shouldn't chase big wins because they haven't happened for a long time before.

These are moments with successful series, also connected with psychology. As an example, when someone plays for even or odd, some people will always choose an odd number to bet if there was an even number before, while other players who use this strategy will always choose the same number as in the previous draw. This choice may indicate that some players believe that their successful streak will last, while others are waiting for their losing streak to end.

And both of them are wrong. Success is not lasting or ending because of what happened before. In gambling the future doesn't depend on the past. It's hard to grasp for an average human being because in real life the future does depend on the past. And people expect it from gambling too and keep wondering, why it's not working. It's not working because it shouldn't work, in the first place. In gambling  events are totally independent from each other.
944  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: October 23, 2023, 02:52:22 AM
It's true that investing in Bitcoin is riskier than in real estate. But if we are of investing only what we can afford to lose, I would choose BTC still. Especially at this point, when Bitcoin costs 3 times less than not so long ago. We've been there, BTC was dropping from $20k to $3k, and then rising from there upwards to $70k some years  later. I don't think we can name areal estate that had risen so much in a relatively short period of time.
I agree with you. If you actually think critically about it, if you only have limited extra money as capital for investment it is best to choose Bitcoin. There are only a few good real estate investments that require small capital that falls within the good category that guarantees profit and these days the same goes for business. Hence, for small-time individuals who have a tight budget for investment capital and are not as knowledgeable regarding economics and the current state of the market, it is better to settle for BTC. Such a fact is one of the very reason as to why even students and middle-class individuals are drawn to BTC investments these days.

That's true. Bitcoin has made investors out of people who would never think of such a thing. It's because investment has never been so profitable. In earlier times only rich people could afford investing in something because real profit from that wasn't so big, and if you are poor, you can't invest $100 today to have $500 five years later. It wouldn't make much of a sense for a poor person. But with BTC, if someone would have invested $100 in the end of 2012, buying 10 BTC, 5 years later, in the end of 2017, it would cost $200,000.
945  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 22, 2023, 06:54:17 AM
You can't save money if you do it at the end, or use leftover money from your salary. If you want to save do it at the beginning, let's say cut 10% whenever you receive your income to a dedicated saving account. But this is under the assumption that your salary is enough for your basic needs. Otherwise, you'll end up with zero or even borrowing money, even when you already live frugally. Anyway, don't waste your time allocating your already small income (for those who need this advice), rather think more about how you get more money/income.

That's what I totally agree with. If you don't have enough money and you start saving from it, even from the beginning like you said, you'll make make your life miserable. And in that state it will be hard for you to work more, or work smarter, or to even think of more effective ways to make money.
946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: October 22, 2023, 06:11:35 AM
There's nothing wrong with gambling itself. There are a lot of leisure activities that can be worse for you than gambling in the end. But if you are trying to cheat in gambling, either in land-based casinos or online ones, you have a good chance of turning your entertainment into disaster.
There is nothing wrong with gambling. The fault is the gamblers who cannot control themselves and use gambling to make money. Even though gambling is a tool for carrying out recreational activities known since ancient times, they only see people who have won from gambling games without thinking about how much money people have spent to get their big win. And if they lose a lot, they will look for ways to cheat the casino but they probably won't find it because the casino is always wary of fraudulent actions that some of its members might commit.

I think, in ancient times no one saw gambling as a recreational activity. Everyone wanted to actually win something with gambling. It's now, when people are smarter, they can treat gambling as entertainment. It's a pity that there are still those who want to make money from it and even those who want to cheat casinos or other players to gain money. It's like their mind is still there, in ancient times.

What I meant to say was that there's no excuse for cheating. The way of thinking like "they deceive us so we have the right to deceive them" is rubbish.
Yes, there is no reason to cheat. They must realize that so they don't try to cheat at the casino. That would get them in trouble especially if the casino found out. The casino would know for sure. Their account will be immediately blocked without notification, especially if the casino has discovered their cheat.

If you are cheating, it's either a casino, or your friends, or your wife will find out eventually. And even if they won't, this kind of behaviour will never bring you happiness.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: October 22, 2023, 05:13:53 AM

A wise approach to gambling is to manage expectations and accept that luck is a key factor in the outcome of the game.

This is not always true. In poker, especially in the long run, skill plays much bigger part than luck. Some people say that the same is for sports betting, but I'm not sure about that. Although it's not 100% about luck in sports betting, that's for sure.

Understanding that gambling is not a surefire way to make money is an important step in avoiding overwhelming disappointment.

it is therefore important to treat gambling as a fun recreational activity, not as a primary source of income, by disciplining a realistic attitude towards gambling and avoiding dependence on outcomes, so as to reduce the pressure and stress associated with gaming. Awareness of the rules and risks involved is also important for making wise decisions when it comes to gambling.

I totally agree with you here. Even good poker players try to not see their winnings as a primary source of income. Although it's sometimes hard when it's millions.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: October 22, 2023, 04:42:43 AM
~
Believe me I know those feelings very well as I am a gambler as well, so I have felt the same urge to keep gambling after a big win as everyone else, but I know this does not lead us to any positive outcome, and since I know that is the case then I stop myself from following those impulses, and the more often you take this choice the easier it becomes, and eventually you are not going to even think about gambling your profits away after a big win.

Nicely put. I can confirm, this is exactly how it happens. If you always put at stake not more than you can afford to lose, then the longer your gambling career, the easier to restrain yourself from reckless gambling. It's like on autopilot already. Of course, there are sometimes glitches, and one day you lose several times more than you can easily afford to lose, but they happen happen rarer and rarer.

It's actually interesting, what amount of money would be enough to cover all those computational resources? Would it be possible for an average person to weaponize this thing?

I'm afraid I don't know the calculation that can be applied to consumer-grade computational resources. But essentially, if one is able to get a profit, in which obviously the game prize would outweigh the computation resources and the casino-related fees, it should be doable for most people. Which surely decreases the playability of the online casino poker game itself.

But I mean, can we at least evaluate the costs. It is known that "the base strategy was computed in eight days, and at market rates would cost about $144 to produce", and to build that strategy Pluribus relied on offline self-play. But it is also known that Pluribus continues to learn in real-time during its online play. And my question is how much this real-time learning would cost? If Pluribus can win $1,000 per hour playing poker online, would it be enough to cover all the costs?

Twilight Princess slot by Pragmatic Play helped me set my personal best couple of days ago.
Where's the replay mate? Surely we want to watch... as wise man said: no replay = hoax Grin

I'm glad you find my win so big(multiplier wise) that it's hard to believe without proof.  Grin But unfortunately I didn't know how to get that link to replay, and I don't know still. Please, someone, be so kind and explain it to me.

Is it still possible to get that link now if I have a Stake Bet ID?

casino:183712023844

Also I can provide a proving screenshot:

I ended up third in the recent Stake's Slots Forum Challenge. I hope it proves that it's not hoax  Smiley (Although I'm sure you you believe me without any proof Smiley )

^^Btw, I've made a lot of screenshots like that during those 15 free spins, and if replay is now not possible, I can post them here too.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 21, 2023, 06:54:19 AM
The Australian Government once said about abolishing gambling ads as a means of reducing gambling activities amongst underage people. But, I think they'll be no successful way of stopping young people from gambling. As it's in them. Most articles here also say things like gambling addiction being hereditary. That means gambling can be hereditary as well. ~

Of course gambling is hereditary, it's in our genes. Life was tough millions of years ago, those who where afraid of taking risks didn't survive, did not produce offspring, did not pass on their genetic code further. But now we are living in different times. We should learn to suppress those inherited instincts if needed. And we should teach our children that gambling is not for them until they grow up. There's many things for adults only and gambling is one of them.
952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: October 21, 2023, 06:16:54 AM
When it always comes to using online gambling casinos, there's a secured means on ones privacy to the public but not to the casino because they have all our details with them and they can only choose to reveal them or not at their own wish, women that love gambling can also make use of their mobile device to gamble with their privacy being maintained and no one knows what they are up to in gambling, considering that not all women will like public appearance while gambling.
I think it all depends on where the woman lives.
Like when a woman lives in a country that permits gambling businesses or legalizes gambling, it won't cause any problems if the woman goes to an offline casino to gamble or gambles online in an open place and there won't be any bullying because the majority of people already understand about gambling.
But if a female gambler lives in a country that prohibits gambling, perhaps online gambling is one of the best ways to cover up her gambling activities because if she is caught gambling in a public place or gambling in front of other people, it will definitely be considered unlawful and usually female gamblers in that country almost perfectly hides her personality and it is almost invisible that she is a woman gambler because women can always keep any secret under wraps.

First off, there shouldn't be any difference in society's approach to women's and men's gambling. If it's illegal, it should be illegal for both, and if it's legal, women shouldn't feel like they are doing something bad if they gamble. Like men, women can start gambling excessively, and that would be bad. Other than that it's totally OK for women to gamble from time to time.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: October 21, 2023, 05:43:49 AM
~ Emotional problem will arise as the main provider will have a big problem with his finances, gambling addiction affects the lives of everyone that surrounds that person, especially if he's already have an obligation to provide the needs of his family, I guess all are depends from how the person carry the load, addiction might not be possible if the person is busy taking care of his life and the obligation that he needed to take care.

That is certainly true. To avoid gambling addiction it's important to keep yourself busy with other things. Don't think it's boring in the first place. It's not. Life is also gambling in a way, and if you look at it like that, you'll find all those attractions of gambling in your life too. Gambling also can take part in all that, but only a small part, not the main one.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: October 21, 2023, 04:55:28 AM
~ Especially when people win and think it happened because of the rituals. They are so genuinely happy it's amazing.
Yes, anyone has a chance to win and talking about beliefs or rituals among gamblers is not strange, at least we respect other people's beliefs with the rituals they believe in, because in all places there are people like that so it doesn't seem like a strange thing, so why do you have to look at it like a joke, after all it doesn't harm anyone, the point is that what you say is true, that just seeing them win with their belief already looks fun.

Never disturb anyone in an offline casino just because they have beliefs or seem to be doing strange rituals, respecting all gamblers will make the casino feel full of diversity so don't let anything disturb them with their beliefs and rituals. gamble for yourself and they gamble for themselves

Right, but of course their rituals shouldn't disturb other gamblers around. They should be peaceful, their rituals, right? Although nothing affects the outcomes of games like slots and roulette, I wouldn't want some making a sacrifice around while I'm playing slots. You know what I mean? Smiley

How many of us got lucky number above 9998, to win a good amount in a single roll. I never heard anyone hitting these lucky numbers.
Visit this topic: Big wins at FreeBitco.in
Many people have already reported winning the two big prizes from free rolls there.

And I'm happy to say that I was one of those people.
Here's what I rolled in May this year:

and $20 was awarded to my balance on FreeBitco.in right away. Plus additional $5 for reporting it on this forum.

95% would be for the base prize, 3% for tier 2, even lesser for tier 3 and so forth.
Here are the chances of winning each of prizes in the free roll.

956  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ BITCASINO - Elevate Your Gameplay 💎 #1 VIP Crypto Casino ✈️ on: October 18, 2023, 10:42:18 AM
Today, I decided to test my theory that if LIVE RTP of a slot for the last 24 hours is much lower than the actual RTP, then maybe it's worth trying to play on it a bit.

And just in time my new love Bitcasino Sweets was showing an extremely low RTP for the last hours and even days:

What do you mean you play and win when the RTP percentage is low?
I think it's something extraordinary with the number of wins obtained.
Congratulations on the win. I applaud your victory and it is appropriate because I am one of those people who quite often ignore the RTP percentage in a type of slot game. If you're lucky, the RTP doesn't really affect the wins you get.

Here's how I do it.

Go to BITCASINO web site.
Then, in the left bar menu find this:

Click on Live RTP and go right there.
You'll find two lists of Highest RTP games and Lowest RTP games. Remeber it's LIVE, as @Beparanf explained below your post. It means, it's the real game stats for the latest 24H/Week/Month. Then choose whatever you prefer. I prefer choosing Lowest RTP, just for the hell of it. Smiley

So, today I saw that the 24H RTP of the The Wolfs Bane slot was 8.18%, , and so I started playing it. The minimum bet for the slot is just 10 cents on Bitcasino platform, and it was a big plus for me personally.

To tell the truth, I wasn't surprised that much when I hit these nice moons pretty soon

and won 10 free spins with that:

Well, free spins is free spins. Every slots lover knows that you'll win much more during 10 free spins than during your 10 regular spins, and that's what happened to me as well. Not much of a surprise this time again. Smiley

In the end I've won 55x of my bet, , which made me think, life is good. Smiley
957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: October 18, 2023, 07:42:32 AM
~ That's what I thought. It's all about a perfectly written prompt, right? My failed experiments with AI predicting outcomes don't prove anything. This was only a first try and I didn't think of a good prompt that much, I just wrote the first thing that came to mind. Yes, AI was wrong 8 times out of 10, but the same AI helped me to win 22x of my bet

I think I will be experimenting more with it. Maybe AI plus with some human corrections is the answer.

what makes you think this wasn't just luck but something taht is replicable and you can implement in a profitable way over time?

congratulations on the win and I'd be really happy to lose 8 out of 10 if my 2 wins got me a huge multiplier like that, but remember this could have been just luck, like a complex looking RNG asnwer created by an advanced LLM, but still no different than throwing dice.

Good question. Now, after more tries, I'm inclined to believe it was just luck. My subsequent experiments with Bard AI have shown that it's not much of a use for predicting the outcomes of the sports events. For example, Bard refuses to take into account which players are injured, although I said where to look for the info, https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php. And it predicts 2-1 in favour of the strongest team almost always, and that is not good enough, obviously.

234 from 20 cents is a lot
imagine if it was 2 dollars, it would give you more than 2 thousand bucks

but I'm a bit more curious on how many times you played with 20 cents to get this win
once? or many?

if many can you share a bit more on the story, like, you spent 20 dollars (100x the 20 cents bet) or more to get this win?

I lost around $10 before that big win. It wasn't like I was spinning and losing each time, sometimes I was winning, so, it were more than 50 spins, more like 200 spins or so.

I'm not really into slots, but after seeing some rare big wins shared on this forum and in the casino chat sections, I decided to give it a try. When I was betting $0.10 per spin, I usually only got back around $0.02 to $0.05, which is less than half of what I bet. Occasionally, I did win double my $0.10, but then I got greedy and kept spinning in the hope of recovering my losses, which eventually wiped out my funds.

A few days later, I thought maybe it was just an unlucky day, so I tried playing slots again. Unfortunately, I ended up depleting my account twice, just like that first day. I repeated this process about four times and ended up empty-handed. I really can't figure out how to win at slots. I was playing a game called Olympus God or something like that.
These tips helped me so I shared here.

Your experience is unique, I would say. I have the same question as @Lucasgabd, how many spins did you make without winning anything more than just a double of your $0.10? From my experience, it takes not more than 20-30 spins before you win something like 5x or 6x of your bet. But, of course, it's not a rule. It can take much more than that sometimes.
