I would like to ask a question to the long term hodlers governing this thread, the ones with the hat: How down do you think the btc/usd price can go before next ATH?

If we assume the 2014 scenario, then 2700 would be the absolute bottom with consolidation in the 3000s before the next rally. We also have the formidable weekly 200 SMA around 3200.

It doesn't portend well, however, that we're down more than at this same point in the 2014 cycle: -80% vs. -77%.

Wow.  That has to be one of the dumbest sentences anyone has ever published in the history of the internet.  And the dumbfuck award goes to Nathaniel Popper.

Popper is the one who publicised the "Bitcoin is doomed" drivel from Hearn around $400 dollars. The man is clueless.

Shocked Never a dull moment in the never-ending bitcoin saga.

Not me. I just feel like shit. Will get better if/when that rally comes though.

Hey, you shouldn't feel so bad. You're still on the rollercoaster unlike those guys who got their asses liquidated on margin.

I'd probably forget about prices for a while and make hay while the sun shines (easier said that done when you've had a kick in the goolies, I know).

My boy from boston said bitcoin will be 7,520 on December 31st.

My boy from Lapland says your boy from Boston is a liar. He says he dropped coal on that bitch every year.

I wonder whether all this attracts the already deranged or whether it drives people deranged.

Those who get driven mad are normally ticking time bombs to begin with, so I'd say the former.

Pretty much Yefi confirmed that he did not have any information to really substantiate what he was suggesting.

What I'm suggesting is that they made a dumb decision.

Who is this amorphous "they" that you are referring to?

It was Micgoossens, obviously. He did it with his army of fifty men.

Tbh, I don't care who was behind it, only that it was resolved.
947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 21, 2018, 12:13:12 PM
It's a shithole out there man.  A cesspool of sig campaigning google translate feces.

Stay in this thread.  It is the only reliably decent place on the forum.

I absolutely agree with you 100%.

The funny thing is they tried to lock this thread. All the shit out there on the forum with shilling and broken sentences and this was the thread they tried to stop.  Roll Eyes

Depends what's in them. If she's oozing a quality chocolate mousse then I'll be right there.

Or a nice lasagne.

Second-hand curry ftw.

That's not right. If a project is young and its coin's market cap is low, then its upside potential is higher than a higher market cap coin.
[...]

That's not what he's saying - he's talking about the value per coin or token irrespective of supply.  I've witnessed this first-hand from my interactions too. On the whole people are innumerate, which is remarkable when you think about it - I mean all the calculations that your unconscious has to perform just to achieve the feat of balance, yet throw a simple equation at the conscious and it falls to pieces.

I've been doing some advanced T/A and here are my results.

I know we read the charts differently, but surely the 2014 was already confirmed by the length and shape of the downtrend ?  This latest plunge just hammers it home.

The dilemma for me now isn't between a 2013 or 2014 drop, but between a 2014 drop and cryptowinter. The later would entail a brutal arctic tundra for years, with not even the halving releasing us from its icy grip.

I am not a hodler. I am an investor. I bought BTC to sell it to make money not to marry with it like you guys. I bought it at 8k, sold it at 17k.

But you hodlers, bought it at 1K, 2K, it reached 19K you still didn't sell it. Now it is 4.5k, you are still not selling it.

So who made the money now? Hodler or investor?

Anyway, wait for another 2-3 years until BTC reaches that level again so you can sell to make some money after hodling for 5-6 years.

Oh, well looks at you, aren't you the big boy. A 100% profit, how could we ever compete?
953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2018, 01:10:45 AM
Bitstamp getting hacked caused the $150 bottom in 2015. At that time it was the biggest exchange.

Bitstamp's hack was relatively small potatoes, they only lost like 19K BTC. Finex was also the largest exchange according to Bitcoinity.

Let's get this shit done with some good old fashioned merit abuse.

Legendary merit drop! Cool

Respect.

The markets just do what they do. Over the years, I've come to look at news stories and recent events as excuses more than causes.

I'll agree with that. When you lose your balance, you instinctively grasp onto the nearest thing.

luckely binaryreign got it CAUSE he could actually use all 60 and wear his damned HAT

maybe with getting close to it
there is another generous HATcarrier to help out .... i sit pretty low myself  Sad

I still want to see Spaceman claim his rightful hat  Cool

I’ve watched my bitcoin stash worth go from close to 1 million GBP to well, you can figure it out from that.
Of course it hurts.....badly.

I feel stupid for not selling at the ATH but we’ve all been through this before & we rocketed from $160 to $20,000.

It will happen again?

If it doesn’t RIP to me.

I don't think now is the right time for me to shine a beacon of light, as I fear your journey will become bleaker yet, but Bitcoin has risen from the abyss before and shall do so again.

taking you guy's with me

now the price just gotta follow

Honourable mention required. Nice one Mic  Cool
957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2018, 01:10:51 AM
That sounds nice and all until we find out bitcoin was created by the government/ illumanti/ CIA/NWO so they could test out a world currency.

I'm surprised you nutballs don't think the the whole universe is just a model created by TPTB. Perhaps your very brain and sense of identity is the product of the gov, like you're one of the replicants from Blade Runner.

I would like to hear people’s stories about how they first heard about Bitcoin ?

I read about it in Wired Magazine in early 2013.  I was familiar with gold farming in WOW so it didn’t seem too outlandish.  It took a second mention in the media in November 2013 for me to pay attention and find this forum on google.

I first came across it from a news article on the BBC's website (of all places) back at the end of Feb 2013. The little tyke had just surpassed its previous ATH.

From a deep cynicism of the traditional financial system, it was like a breath of fresh air.

For your hat, based on this post, I selected the colours Azure, Purpure and Or from the list of heraldic colours, approved by His Majesty's College of Arms.  Oh, and I added a few misplaced commas, to make you wonder.

You speak so beautifully with commas Homer.  Grin Kiss

there are now so many sides and factions that surely some of these people wind up pumping and cheerleading the wrong one for a few days until they figure it out and flip again, and by that time there's another sect they need to join.

And some of them still think there's going to be a flippening. Dear me.
