What do the columns mean? I'm assuming "amount" is wallet balance, "transactions" is number of minting transactions. I have no idea what "divided" is. Divided the number of transactions by the amount of coins. Or you can divide it the other way, number of coins / transactions (makes the lower number more lucky), either way it tells the same story in different ways. But the story is that: It doesn't matter how many coins are where, you will get varied results when looking at a short amount of time. I think I see it. One interesting thing I notice in my wallet is that the minted amount is right around 5.85 NOTE no matter which pile of coins minted. So a smaller pile might mint fewer times than a larger one, but each minting instance is larger in terms of percent of the pile size for the smaller pile. So, I'm concluding from this that I should put my coins in however many different addresses I want and just leave them alone, and over the long haul, every address with a balance will mint at a rate of 2% per year. Is that correct? Oh yeah, the block reward is always Current Total Coins / 525,600 * .02. Not exactly on the earnings part. All coins are proportionally equal in terms of the reward value. However, your reward percentage varies based on how many total coins are staking. For instance, roughly 1/3 of all coins are staking right now, so let's use that for our example, and let's use 150,000,000 for the figure for total coins. We know that 2% of 150,000,000 will be distributed over the coarse of the year. Which is 3,000,000 coins. If 100% of the coins were being staked, everyone would receive 2% (more because of the compounding element, but let's keep it simple and exclude it) But where only 1/3 of all coins are being staked, 50,000,000, the reward doesn't change just the distribution. So each user would earn 6% (again excluding compounding). |

Right now it's looking like the best thing is to keep your pile as large as possible for optimal staking odds, but I still need to first get all my coins over to my wallet, and second, do some experimenting. Whatever the optimal staking conditions are (and that will depend on the formula used), it would be *awesome* if the wallet automatically consolidated or split coin piles to match that optimal pile size. Otherwise users have to periodically do that manually. Your staking weight is the combination of all funds being staked in your wallet. As far as moving them around, or in different addresses or piles, would make no difference over time. Having them split in different staking wallets all-together, won't make a difference over time, but of course you would have two different points of failure. So if in the same wallet I have three inputs (piles) of 5000 NOTE each, would those mint just as readily as if it was all a single input of 15,000 NOTE? What I'm seeing so far is that the larger piles mint and the smaller piles don't, but it may be that this balances out over time. I don't know. I found the export tab and it works great! So glad it's there. That brings up another question. Is there a way to clear orphans or remove "false" transactions? I have a "generated but not accepted" staking incidence that would be nice to get rid of so it doesn't clutter up my data.
Ok good. That does sound like the number of coins that would be staking on the network. Regarding the rest of your questions, I will verify before providing the answers. That sounds like a great option. We probably want export options would allow you to chose what transactions to export and ignore orphan transactions. I will add it to our list. OK, so network weight is simply the total amount of DNotes that are staking in that moment. I think the first time I looked at it, my mind added an extra three zeroes and I was like, I *know* there aren't 50 billion DNotes out there! 50 million makes a lot more sense, as the total supply is around 150 million. I'm guessing based on those numbers that coin age is not a factor in staking, but definitely please confirm. On the export, I was also going to request the ability to export a custom date range. The first time I export, I'll want to export everything, but after that, it would be nice to only export the new transactions since the last export. And yes, having it ignore the "false" staking incidences would be great. I remember one wallet I owned having a "clear orphans" function which deleted those from the wallet itself, but that doesn't seem to be a common feature. I'm actually hoping I can keep records via API. However, I have to see how the API handles recording of the staking transactions. That's been an issue for me with other coins. I'm planning to give that a shot this week. If API recording doesn't work, then the export function is the next best option. I have a question. Is the full 153 Million actually as listed by Coinmarketcap the Circulating supply or is there going to be an amount that will not be available to be circulated and then that number would be listed as a lower amount. Therefore, the total supply would be listed as the 153 Million and a smaller amount as the circulating supply. Kind of like OMG OmiseGO.

That's a great question. I may be missing something on why this would be done, but in my view it would create a lot of confusion, particularly for new investors. The guarantee fund is in cold storage and off-limits (for lack of a better term), but so are the DNotes of a lot of investors who are saving for a long term goal. That doesn't mean I couldn't access my retirement DNotes and spend them if needed. At some point down the road, I'm assuming DNotes Global would acquire insurance on DNotes Vault and the guarantee fund wouldn't be needed in that capacity. How would we explain an extra 40 million DNotes appearing in the supply/marketcap one day? Just my thought on the matter. Now back to taxes...  Interesting question for sure. The DNotesVault guarantee fund is currently funded by stakeholders who put up their purchased or hard earned DNotes in support of our efforts. So those are technically part of circulation. But I think your question is more specific to the funds leftover after the swap? It's not clear to me what the benefit is by removing them from circulation. Is it the perception of a more limited supply? |

I thought the coins were delisted on every Exchange?
Working on a few community updates, coming up shortly. We can only make the requests, which we have contacted every exchange currently listing 1.x in every possible format a multitude of times including publicly tagging them in social media. 2.0 is only confirmed as listed on https://www.nlexch.com/markets/notebtcAs far as TradeByTrade, we are still trying to get an update on the status and whether is 1.x or 2.0. So far they have provided us with a general response that they have forwarded our request on to their development team. You cannot currently deposit or withdraw there. Also, Blockbid's beta starts today so I will be following up with them. |

Hi DNotes, I love the progress you guys have made since my last post here on Bitcointalk. I am super excited to see 2.0 has been successfully launched. I had and still have my coins in my DNotesVault. I don't have to do anything right? Automatic swap!
One last question. Do you guys plan on introducing Pool staking. Staking can be profitable but only if you have a huge amount of DNotes. Pool staking will help those individuals with small amounts of DNotes to at least stake their tokens without having to keep their wallets open 24/7

Thanks BTCWise! That is correct, your DNotesVault is all taken care of and swapped to DNotes 2.0. We are looking into a Pool Staking option, but will be best to do it when we release the deferred staking feature. Thank you for letting me know. I will hold onto my tokens until the Pool Staking option becomes available. If I'm not mistaken my tokens will still earn interest from some of the other interest bearing options available through the DNotesVault? Let me know if I can assist with anything.
