961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: August 05, 2013, 05:01:48 PM
For the last two days, I've had some real-life related stuff take priority, I haven't gotten much work done on the miner. I should have more time in a couple of days.

Meh, my GPUs are at FAH anyhow Smiley
962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Curecoin beta pool test - user limit lifted - Lets hit the Mile Stone 1200R on: August 05, 2013, 06:50:34 AM
For some reason, my 7970 cards are only reporting around 80000 on core 17. My 7950s report around 75000 for themselves.

For anyone curious, XFX 7970 GHOST cool cards, no custom firmware, slight slight overclock, no undervolt (can't without custom FW), on a single-core processor. I'm wondering of that Sempron 145 Sargas is screwing me up. Anyone here have some insight into the folding world as to what a 'balanced' system is, and whether two GPUs can run fine from a unicore machine? Cheers Cheesy

Edit: I'm guessing it's related to the single-core, as there are times when that core jumps up to 100%. I am of course not telling the machine to fold on the processor, but 100% folding from a core_17 running isn't conducive to multi-gpu setups on single-core CPUs. Smiley

I wonder if the beta version of the gpu miner has been already distributed to a few donators..there is a recent increase in difficulty "9.32315743" as of last checked. Or it might be the result of the recent HP9 roll-out. Or it might be the combination of the two.

I donated 2 BTC and didn't receive anything yet, though there were probably some higher-paying people than myself.
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [TUTORIAL] Solo Mining Litecoins Guide--Windows! on: August 05, 2013, 12:09:12 AM
I want to solo mine with 10 miners on a home network. Do I need to leach a longpoll from someone's pool on each miner, or just the miner hosting my coin wallet  Huh
TIA

You can do either.

So what's the tentative day for the release of the Coin For Disease Control (beta thingy)?

Very interesting, much more excited about the folding project though Smiley I'll be throwing my power at that one after this crazy heatwave is gone...

Just signed up as "planarshift" on the pool and f@h, and joined the team as well. I'm getting about 32k PPD with my GTX 680. Is that good or bad or average? Tongue

That's the results that you should be getting with corev16(or -). Core v. 17 (with client 7.xx) should get you better performance (like 2x or so). A 680 will probably hit like near 80,000 PPD I think.

Running v7.3.6 ... Wonder why it's so low?

Did you launch it as an advanced client type? Smiley

One of my litecoin rigs (2x7950) is hitting around 168,500 PPD. Sadly, they'll be turning off for the next week, but after that I should be able to contribute three to four of those rigs to the project, assuming it's somewhat profitable. 660,000 PPD would be awesome. Cheesy

Been LOVING this so far, glad I can do useful work for once with my computing power.

Anyhow, what does 'CDC' stand for, and what type of coin address should I put into the payout address? Cheers Smiley

If someone could give me some specific compilation directions (or a windows binary!) I can test on a 780. Smiley
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: July 25, 2013, 04:12:49 AM
I just finished importing the hp7 code to Reaper, and mined the first testnet block using the CPU miner! I'm a bit behind schedule, but now I've finally started on the GPU code.

Cool, still on track for a closed beta tomorrow, or are you planning for more around the 26th or 7th?
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Curecoin beta pool test - sign up now - current max only 50 users for beta! on: July 25, 2013, 02:16:51 AM
So.... NVidia cards seem much better at this right now. One 780 is getting around 31000PPD, while two 7950s are reporting 9000PPD (4500 each). Two 7950s is around the same price as one 780.

Got another 780 in-box that I was planning to open once the primecoin CUDA miner is released (if it turned out to be a bust, I would sell it new-in-box on ebay), but I'm seriously considering opening that sucker right now... Cheesy

Signed up, awesome concept Cheesy I would, as many other people as well, love a detailed explanation as to how this system works. Smiley
