961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OFFICIAL LAUNCH] iCoin - The coin of the future, available today on: January 10, 2014, 02:23:29 AM
You guys look a heck of a lot more organised than most coins out there!

Got my wallet downloaded and it synced in about a minute. Nice & fast! BXwprKYwBzuTXeuY5sueEN7FHQUwCP9Qwg
962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin exchanges on: January 10, 2014, 01:30:56 AM
Coins-E, Cryptsy, Vircurex, and Coined Up.

Didn't vote as there's only room to vote for 1, and I have coins and trade in multiple exchanges. This poll really needs to let you choose multiple options.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CATCOIN EXTREMELY UNDERVALUED - SIMPLE MATH on: January 10, 2014, 01:28:37 AM
While trying to flog the little CAT that I had on Cryptsy, its value dropped over 10%.

I don't see CAT as being a viable long-term currency. With its problems and whatnot, it seems destined for the world of "it was fun while it lasted" coins.

Šogecoin on the other hand is kind of freakish. It actually has some pretty decent infrastructure behind it - something most alts don't have.
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTB] Gay Fish for COYE on: January 09, 2014, 02:43:38 PM
I'm looking to buy gay fish. Salmon or smoked salmon preferably. Gay tuna is ok too. Absolutely no gay octopus though - they're not fish.

Post offers.

I'll have COYE to spend once my wallet syncs. It has no gay fish in it, so that could be a part of the problem. I think you'll need to send the gay fish first. Tongue
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welfare Coin on: January 09, 2014, 05:27:44 AM
It won't work. Anyone who has anything won't use it. It will only help make the poor equally poor. Socialism doesn't work. We have countless examples that show how socialism consistently creates poverty.

What you're looking for is for people to be charitable. This won't accomplish that. The best way to encourage charity is to enrich people and make them prosperous. When people have extra, they're more likely to give. When people have nothing, they can't give. Socialism creates poverty and eliminates charity.

Now, if people are prosperous, some wealthy people might use Welfare Coin in order to be charitable. But still, I can't see that working out very well. Why would I try to be charitable through Welfare Coin when I can simply engage in local charity where I get to see the effects?
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kanye West suing creators of Coinye... on: January 09, 2014, 04:37:54 AM
So, how many COYE is he suing for? 100% of the pre-mine? Tongue
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bernankoin the Coin Not Evil according to Paul Krugman DL WINQT v1.3 NOW on: January 08, 2014, 07:14:13 PM
Seriously - Bernankoin has a lot more value than gay fish coin...

On which exchange?

The only value any coin has is what someone is willing to give for it.  Just like the dollars that Bernanke prints, the only reason they have value is because people agree that they do, otherwise it is just a piece of paper with pretty pictures on it.

I'd argue that if you think bernakoin has more inherent value than gay fish you haven't understood the economics lesson this coin is offering.

But hey if anyone believes this coin has more value than gay fish I still have a couple million left to trade.  Ill give 1 BEK for 1 COYE, and ill send first.

Ok... you got me... I mixed up a bit of the sarcasm/character mode in there. Yes - I know the economics. No, I wasn't talking about $$$ or BTCBTCBTC values - I meant the lesson values taught by Bernankoin.

ATM I'm not trading COYE, but I'll trade you 10 of my BEK for 20 of yours. Just send me multiples of 10 BEK and keep multiples of 10 BEK for yourself and we'll call the deal done. Send to this address: BndanZXsyDjnrP8dkwgbo87jExvk96tj8z Grin
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Bernankoin (BEK) Pool ( bek.GPool.net ) on: January 08, 2014, 07:09:01 PM
Ok... Now you got me thinking again...

From the site:

Quote
Pool fee is 2%. Top 100 Balance will be paid in new block.

Seriously? 2%? What kind of kleptocrat are you? A mere 2%? You must think that we're all banksters!

Well, then again, we are all printing BEK, so I suppose we are...

Then who gets taxed 40%+? Can we levy a general tax on the rest of the forum for some amount of BEK? If they don't pay, I think we should take their homes. That's only fair after all. Everyone needs to pay their fair share...
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bernankoin the Coin Not Evil according to Paul Krugman DL WINQT v1.3 NOW on: January 08, 2014, 06:48:51 PM
What really screws me up... is why doesn't Bernankoin get any media attention? Like, gay fish coin is all over the place, and Šogecoin is everywhere, but the one coin that has some valuable lessons to teach is nowhere to be found in the MSM.

Anyone have any media contacts they can get to do a write up on alts and Bernankoin?

Seriously - Bernankoin has a lot more value than gay fish coin...
970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The First Bernankoin (BEK) Pool ( bek.GPool.net ) on: January 08, 2014, 06:35:21 PM
I don't see anywhere to sign up at the pool. The "Start Mining" link goes to the tutorial, but not registration link there... What am I missing?

No registration needed. Just follow the tutorial Smiley

Usage:

jhPrimeminer -o http://162.243.113.54:10034 -u USERNAME -p x -t PROCNUMBER

•USERNAME is the address of your wallet. (Just like: BVLq8aVifbFrZQnXv1QMBoEFm7P4DQxA61)
•PROC is the number of threads you want to use.

DOH!

Got it. When I saw "USERNAME", I figured I had to sign up. Most other pools have used "ADDRESS" or something similar. Thanks for the clarification.

971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 10000 TH network is extremely vulnerable on: January 08, 2014, 05:26:34 PM
In one talk Andreas Antonopoulos says that it would cost in excess of $400 million. $20 million seems low.
972  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Warning on: January 08, 2014, 05:07:07 PM
You should really delete the link. You're linking to malware right now.
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling 120k coinye! on: January 08, 2014, 08:46:14 AM
Or maybe a gay fish...
974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling 120k coinye! on: January 08, 2014, 08:45:31 AM
0.00000001 Bernankoins.
975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easier ways to memorize private key ? on: January 08, 2014, 08:19:11 AM
easier to remember = less entropy = you gon get robbed

This is not true.

Why that is, is illustrated here:

976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Utopian Future on: January 07, 2014, 11:30:18 PM
Then we all went to the moon, fired all the governments, decriminalised pot, and had a massive smoke-fest on the dark side of the moon after spending 10 BTC on developing insta-terra-forming technologies to create breatheable atmospheres. And fired the governments again because we were all to stoned to remember that we'd already done that. I'm hungry...
977  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Good post but very annoying on: January 07, 2014, 04:08:40 PM
Did I understood correctly ? If yes, private traders will be treated like the worst criminal just for nothing if you are not paying tax for millions of $ what you never earned.

As far as I can tell, yes.

This example illustrates clearly how terrible the actual financial and tax system is.

They're kleptocrats. Pure and simple. Their only purpose is to steal as much as they possibly can.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Tech can replace most national voteing system on: January 07, 2014, 02:06:14 PM
Voting for politicians is just voting for who you want to steal from you. It never changes. If it did, voting would be illegal. Totally pointless.

My vote is up for sale to the highest bidder. Do I hear BTC1?
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs. Paypal - and PayPal is getting sued. on: January 07, 2014, 01:34:31 PM
I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you win! I would laugh myself into unconsciousness to see PayPal lose their ability to take credit cards. That would be truly priceless! I take credit cards through PayPal, so it would have an effect on me, but seeing PayPal go down in flames would be just so worth it! Smiley
980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some new nice coins please (new ideas)... on: January 07, 2014, 08:21:53 AM
So that you can send coins to "test.my" instead of "QYXvZn5aoQMup869tNV2S5CpTxj9kLawiu"?

I don't think that would be possible. Someone more versed in PKI could answer better than me though.
