961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: September 04, 2017, 06:40:24 PM
I regret that I have been thinking for too long to join the bitcoin and start making good money. I missed a lot of time and a very good profit which provided rapid growth.

Nearly same case, I heard it few months ago before I heard about it. But more thing to regret is I panicked many times when I was a newbie and just entered the crypto world. Once I sold some bits and the next day the price nearly crossed 40%, so ya I missed and lost like this few times, before I learned about it more.

There is a word, Half knowledge is more dangerous, and that happened with me.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I do not have the guts to buy bitcoins now. on: September 04, 2017, 04:24:39 PM
For me also! I don't have a guts to buy bitcoin because it is too high for me, I just did is joining bounty campaign here and earn bitcoin without investing any cents from my pocket.

This is the situation with most of the people around us as bitcoin value is 4500$ and this is not a small amount. This is not the question about guts but more importantly the question of spare money in hand to be able to convert it in Bitcoins.

Buying Bitcoins might be freaking as the price is quite high, or nearly record high. But you know what, it will go even further, more is there to happen, so if you can buy, just do it. But you mindset shall be such, that if the value drops you won't freak or be sad, or else it will continue to freak and disturb your mind. Just buy small amounts, if you have too fear, any percentage or amount of profit is a profit, either be it low or high.
963  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where do you get your ideas for investments? on: September 03, 2017, 04:01:00 PM
Basically used to follow some friends and fellow investors to learn and gather their experience. Some peoples ideas did really helped me.
Currently I do my own research, and for few investments, I still seek advise from them. Now there are also various good news portal, which gives sufficient information and updates which is a great way to help myself pick my own investment option.

965  Economy / Economics / Re: India should consider using Bitcoin to prevent " Demonitization " on: September 02, 2017, 08:46:49 PM
The "Demonitization" attempt to flush out undeclared wealth, has failed according to this article :

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-41100610

The subsequent result of this was actually catastrophic for India's economy. A lot of people lost their jobs and the real estate sector look some huge knocks.

In a proper regulated "Bitcoin" environment, people will find it difficult to hide their wealth. Yes, it is a problem in the unregulated environment, but it will be easier to monitor it within a regulated environment.

~~ What would your solution be, if you were confronted with this problem?
~~ Can Bitcoin regulation help to solve this problem?
~~ Should Bitcoin support governments in monitoring wealth and honesty in tax reporting?
~~ What will happen if Bitcoin is used to circumvent measures to hide wealth?
~~ Will full transparency destroy financial transparency?

Share your thoughts on this matter please. I am curious to see how honest Bitcoin users can be with their views on this.

Please don`t put the words "regulated" and "bitcoin" in one sentence. It`s horrible. Grin
I don`t know what exactly are you trying yo say with "regulated Bitcoin environment".What is this?
The whole consept of bitcoin and cryptos is to create a "regulaiton free" environment, away from governments and banks. There are easier methods to find and catch people who are hiding their wealth.
Demonitization is not one of them. The Indian government should increase VAT and decrease all the other taxes.

I also hate regulation, just look back at what damage BitLicence brought to the businesses in New York. The thing is, we either change the governments with our vote or we adapt to the government regulation that are forced onto you. The government will not just sit idle and relinquish control to a unregulated currency that is in direct competition with their local reserve currency.

We should find ways to work with them or to replace them with Bitcoin-friendly governance. < at the next elections >
I think there will be hardly any Government which will keep its people out of the things which are helping them. Bitcoin is no less than a miracle changing the lives of people. It will take time and all the things will be in favor of Investors and users. There is hardly anything to worry about Government.

Government, presently they are upto digitizing India fully. So Bitcoin will surely be a great option as both currency and investment.
But it will surely take time, as most people are unknown to this, and also ignorant who knows about it. Regulations if induced with BTC, it might cripple some key features.
966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: September 02, 2017, 07:42:54 PM
I think a major crash is coming soon, if not already. However, I think we will reach $5,000 before that. Therefore this will be another "bump" in the road so to speak, and it will go up to $5,000-7,000 and then crash for a couple years at least.

Do you have a solid basis for affirming this? Over the years I have seen many analyzes of so-called expert analysts and financial institutions that have repeatedly failed their bitcoin predictions, but your statements look so secure that you may have a crystal ball to see into the future.

But given the great potential of the market, I think that those who believe that bitcoin can reach $ 50,000 we are always in good time to buy more coins.

I don't think there will be solid cause to predict this, it might drop for correction and also might crash a little, but it will not last for couple of years as stated. Bitcoin is day by day getting stronger, not just by fluke, but for various other genuine reasons.

Now keep on buying depends on individuals risk taking capabilities, as per personal belief I would say buy as much you can afford to risk.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens? on: August 31, 2017, 06:45:48 PM
As an Investment, I have encountered ordinary people who asked and even indulged in BTC via third party help. If there is a will, there is always a way.
But being a ordinary or no technical person, its hard to learn and also rely on someone else who might perform fraudulent activities.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: August 30, 2017, 06:58:52 PM
This post is not intended to criticize gamblers, i am just curious what drives a gambler to really gamble even when the odds are against him or even reach the point where he'd rather lose everything he has than to stop doing his gambling addiction. I said the following because i have seen friends and some relatives on my mother's side literally lose everything they have like family, wealth etc. and only a few managed to stand up again. And some of that few still gamble to this day. And an uncle was found dead from a gunshot wound, whoever did it was unknown. But rumors say that it is one of all the guys he owed large money and never payed. While a friend(not close, just a neighbor) died from suicide because his wife left him along with his 14y.o daughter and 3y.o son. Now, I ask this because i dont get it. I just don't. I mean is it even worth it? If you ask me, i don't know. That is why i am asking. And the reason why i did it here is because we all know i can't ask a gambler with this kind of questions face to face because doing that would mean mean that I wanna start a fight. I mean that might how a gambler reacts to this kind of question. Please share your thoughts on this.

First time gambling is due to friends influence or out of curiosity.  Then the next would be of different reason, wanted to win a stake and earn money or just wanted to entertain.  Gambling is not bad as long as it is moderated but, the same with other stuff, too much of it will give us negative effect.  Same thing as being hooked and at the end addiction.  I myself gambling because of entertainment and profit but I make sure I am on top of it meaning I can control myself.

Not really, but yes I was kind of indirectly influenced by many people and also from movies. Mainly the fun side of it attracted me to learn more about it.
Sports gambling was legal online betting platform, which even made me think about it more. But I don't gamble always, its just for fun. Not addicted to it really, but it comes in my mind sometimes quite often, but I can control the desire.
969  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: Best investment in 2017? on: August 30, 2017, 06:32:59 PM
Just in a month of time, the price went up from $1800 to $4400, which is huge percentage of growth. Obviously its a great investment in the year 2K17.
But still few months left, but I don't think any other altcoin can still come close to the profit percentage provided by Bitcoin till date.
970  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: August 30, 2017, 05:45:39 PM
Every people only wants in thier life is to be rich someday. Even i ,im tired being in a low class of living, because of what life i have to today,i need to save in order to live, if im only a rich man im not thinking  about financial problem anymore.
I did not yet meet in the life of such man that would not like to become rich. Many want to do nothing, but to get money. It is not so.
It may be hard to believe, but there are people who really don't want to get rich or to be rich. Some people only want to have a peaceful and simple life. They are happy that way because they also worry less by being like that. Being rich doesn't mean that you will not also face problems that can be solved by money.

Every thing has pros and cons, or positive side or negative side, and so as being rich. You have to face the upcoming issues or problems rather you are rich or poor. Yes there are many peoples who doesn't want to be rich but they surely intend to accumulate some money for a good standard of living. Now this standard depends from person to person.

Of course, everyone wants to be rich to ensure a comfortable standard of living. Thanks to bitcoin, you can become one of the rich lucky ones who enjoy a comfortable life.

Those who invested in Bitcoin very early became rich when the exchange rates went up. Examples are guys such as Roger Ver. But now more than 10,000,000 people are using Bitcoin. Not all of them can become rich.

Even now people can be rich but the catch is you have to be rich in order to be more rich with Bitcoin now. I mean to say if a person invests huge amount of money, then he can grow his wealth, but for general people, it won't be much.
971  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: August 30, 2017, 05:34:01 PM
Is it a currency really? or itīs current value comes from being a store of value asset? the use cases as a currency canīt explain nearly part of the value of BTC. But speculation and store of value...
most of bitcoin holders treat this as an investment not really using it as currency because of the current movement and the value really placing
investors to a good position those who got in earlier and already got a lots of bitcoin for sure they are already millionaires and having  a great time
but even they got a lots of it I think they are not considering it as currency but an asset instead.

Exactly! Its not really currency till date, as its being widely considered as an Asset or Investment module. But ya it is used as currency to trade goods and services, but not widely its being accepted. So I believe its not the right time to term Bitcoin the strongest currency. During too much Volatility, the currency usability dips down, as it becomes stable to some value, the transaction for purchasing increases.
972  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I invest (safely) in Bitcoin for the long term? on: August 28, 2017, 07:21:30 PM
As long as you have confidence that you have a computer that's not going to become irreparable or damaged, and you have no intention of moving around anytime soon then obviously the best choice is a nice lightweight software wallet, make sure the coins are in there and thoroughly confirmed, shut it down and leave it alone except for possibly making a backup of the wallet data in a different location.

if a person wants progress in his life and he possess a workable computer which he beliefs that is not damageable so he should install the ASAP and open his wallet for bitcoins savage and there is nothing any laborious work just wait and then see your profit

Yes it is a secure option, but much better option is Paper Wallet for me, highly secure if you are careful enough to protect your Private Keys. Best possible option to just receive the coins in wallet and sit back till you see your target profit being reached. And also very easy to use, no tension of your mentioned problems that may occur with Desktop Wallet.
973  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When sell ETH for BTC? on: August 28, 2017, 06:47:36 PM
Why did you sell your ETH for BTC? ETH is about to pump in the next few weeks. I guess its from the ETH price 0.077BTC to 0.2BTC thats more than 2X. Then sell from the TOP. Now you have 2X more BTC.
I did not think so he did anything wrong. Eth is nothing as compared to bitcoins and selling them off for bitcoins is quite smart move. Even if the eth pumps in coming weeks, it will still be less in worth than bitcoins. It is never bad or regretful to invest into bitcoins especially with these altcoins.
Ethereum has a good feature and that is the smart contracts and because of that there is no escape for using ethereum as a fee and one of the primary coin to invest to different ICOs so i think ethereum is designed perfectly for our world while bitcoin only focus on payment system and i believe that these two can work together to come up with the best cryptocurrency for our world.

ETH is one great altcoin to have, it might not reach or overtake the value as Bitcoin soon enough, but it will show some great movements in the near future. The features are just more than many other casual altcoins, so obviously it is wise to keep it. Moreover I accept Bitcoin is the King, but its foolish to just stick to one and invest on it only, where you have many like Bitcoin.
974  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: August 28, 2017, 11:45:21 AM
Hello All,

What you think is the best investment to gain steady income in btc without actively doing anything?
So no trading/gambling/loaning etc.

Steady income more likely to be 'small & secure' than 'big & risky'.

Thanks,
BR Oinas
I think there is no job here in cryptocurrency that have steady income. Like in trading and in gambling. You can't predict if you will lose your money or you will you gain profit from it.

For steady income, a fixed job is the best option, now if you establish a business accepting cryptos, its not a fixed or steady income option. The income will fluctuate accordingly to your sale.

In gambling you cannot predict but while trading you can still somehow predict what will be your result. Trading is different than gambling. Trading can also lead to some good income, but it won't be steady as you cannot always predict or analyse and take decision in a positive aspect.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 27, 2017, 07:56:31 PM
Another win all because of Dhoni and Rohit. I felt that Rohit too deserved to win the MOM as it was only because of his and Dhoni's partnership that they won this match else they were 64 for 4 earlier. This would have been an easy match to play but the batsmen are failing many times and most are not consistent with their game, especially Virat. Hope that their next match can be a better game and not dependent on 1-2 players.
India is having luck, so they are winning all matches. The last match also Dhoni stand for a long time and made 100+ runs partnership with 8th batsman and made India to won that match. Today also he played responsible innings and made Ndia win this game by 6 wickets. The 1st 4 wickets lost very quickly but after that Dhoni played mature innings and gave good support to Sharma. Congrats India.

In the previous game Kumar also played well along with supportive Dhoni. Luck is obviously a factor, but he is an awesome player with great capability to make himself calm, and play accordingly. Today he really showed his skills again. If the opponent had been other first class teams, then this continuous win would have been surely termed as luck. Though I don't deny Sri Lanka is great team but not consistent enough.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with altcoins on: August 27, 2017, 07:37:21 PM
Basically Bitcoin, then Litecoin and very rarely Dogecoin. Very limited sites accept dogecoins and few doesn't have a proper house edge.
So currently I prefer BTC and Litecoin, and Litecoin as altcoin being the most. Also tried ETH but didn't suite me.
977  Economy / Economics / Re: Most people dont even know what this is yet. on: August 27, 2017, 07:26:51 PM
Gradually the awareness rate is increasing. When I started with Cryptos, most knew nothing. Now atleast many know about it, though their knowledge is still unclear regarding Bitcoin and altcoin. But atleast most heard about Bitcoin , few months later or next year I believe people will learn more about it.
978  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best method to store gold/silver/precious metals/jewels/etc on: August 27, 2017, 06:35:31 PM
If you want to have it as an Investment, why store it physically? I prefer to buy ETF of the various mentioned commodities if its for investment. That makes me feel safe and its really much safe. But if you want it physical then locker will be kind of safe or build your own highly guarded safe depending on the quantity.

980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I cash out my BTC now? on: August 26, 2017, 06:00:13 PM
If you had your payment in BTC, would you cash out your money or you would wait increasing of cryptocurrency?
Well, I think you should wait for the right when the price of bitcoin is high because it will help you to gain and make more income. In addition to that, you should hold your bitcoin because there is a possibility that the price of bitcoin will increase in the near future. Holding is one of the best way to gain income.

I think waiting for right time will never come if you don't have a target. If you keep on waiting for the right time, it will never come.
Right time depends on the individuals requirement and needs, and when whether he is in profit or loss. If I need it I have to sell it, but obviously as you said I agree it will rise more, so everybody should hold till they can.
