Are there some flaws or disadvantages when defining a stack on this low level?

Yes, it's hard to predict how much memory u'll need if u heavily exploit stack by using recursions and similar stuff.

Python has a recursion limit if a function calls itself for n cycles
the interpreter break execution and will throw an error.
Could something similar be implemented in NXT turing scripts?
Also if you reconsidered about stack languages maybe this
project could be something that could help you or give idea about development
or maybe I' m wrong

I says is sandboxed and it runs on java VM.

Sounds interesting. I'd like to participate in the beta.

I tried to install windows wallet and did. but when i click the icon it doesnt work nothing happening.

Hello.

Do you have java installed?
Without java it can't run!
Could be installed but the not in the path.

Go to command line try to type in "java -version" to check your java version.

If you need to install on window then i thin you need
Oracle Java JRE7 or JDK7.

A newbie here. I just wanna how NEM is different than NXT.

Besides, both seem to be similar xcpt on the fair distribution.

NEM builds on top of the NXT ideas, but it will be based on new code. The development plan has more information about the proposed feature set. But, one of the biggest differences will be around the NEM forging algorithm.

Hello Jaguar0625

I found an interesting post about coin security on their forum.
http://forums.timekoin.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=532

Maybe something there can help you with the PON or POI idea.

I see what you mean. Commodity-backed money. Hmm, will history repeat itself? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6LWqgohO4E

The money should be backed by commodity and not the way is now.
The commodity is limited, planet earth is limited resources on the planet are limited
there is no space for infinite growth in economy.
Now the money is not backed by anything or only by empty promises in future.
We don't know the future therefore we should not believe in future promises.
Current economic model is detached from nature it does not follow the nature cycles
and will bring us do destruction.

Is there any public node or test node running the latest NRS version that allows
api calls?

Is this documentation at http://www.thenxtwiki.org/wiki/Nxt_API#Description
already obsolete as there were already several daily updated  from 0.5.11 to 0.7.2?

Thanks  Cool

Your patience is rewarded. Please find a link to the official NEM development document here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NhxTyi4Eo2D_1m1Ca8zvzQr0_RB0dgM2VuWXAIzcS-I. A few sections are still in flux (they are marked with TODOs), but are being worked on at the moment.

I will be monitoring this thread and comments in the document for feedback.

Thanks you for the detailed info.
I see lots of good features in NEM.
I have read the document and i have few questions.

1st)
What version of NXT code you plan to use to start the development?
I ask this because currently in the NEM codebase there are 2 older versions of NXT
code which contained some flaws.
The flaws have been removed by JeanLuc and the NXT code was refactored since version 0.6.x and 0.7.x.
The latest version of NXT is 0.7.2.

It seem they found another issue with the current version as well
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg5039691#msg5039691

2) will NEM have similar JSON web api like NXT has, I mean will have the similar concept
of accessing the api over http https protocols?

Thanks.

I don't want to get in a fight with the NXT people, but it's conjecture to assume that the NXT creators would have allowed more than a total investment of 21 BTC. The NXT IPO was halted suddenly 6 weeks before the posted end date and well below the desired number of stakeholders. In my opinion, there's no reason to believe it wouldn't have ended much sooner if there was more interest earlier. For example, if the NXT IPO received 21BTC on the first day why do we think it wouldn't have been shut down immediately?

We can only speculate on this if would be ended the 1st day or not?
Was the 21 btc the limit to invest?
If the dev wanted to have greater number of stakeholders within 21 BTC
they should have been set a smaller btc cap per person "investor".
Was it ended sooner for other reasons unknown to us or because 21 btc was collected?
Who knows the answers to this questions?!

It ended how it ended Sad we can not change it any more
so there is no reason to dissipate any more energy and time to this issue.

990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: February 09, 2014, 07:08:04 PM

How is starting with 3000 stakes similar to starting with 71 stakes ?
there didn't have to be 71 stakes, 100.000 people in Bitcointalk could send 0.001 Btc during 61 days

They could but they didn't as the
thread was shoveled under other hundreds  shitcoin [ANN] threads. Wink
Who was lucky to find the thread and had balls to send some btc at the right moment
has been rewarded the others who were not so lucky or did not had balls to put some btc
or have been slow to convert FIAT to btc to buy nxt like myself paid or has to pay higher price.

There is nothing we can do about this anymore.
The cards have been dealt and the game has started.

  • once you know what all the strange APIs (mula_small, mula32, divmod) are doing, it's not that hard to follow, what's going on
* if some would have the copy of that C implementation, I'd be really thankful, to have look at it.

Ljudi nece dozvoliti da DOGE nestane.

Postoji vec veliki community koji je iza tog coin-a.

A cuj, ako si zaista uvjeren u to onda prodaj sve sto imas i stavi u DOGE, sta drugo da ti preporucim ...

Nikad ne stavljajte sve u isti koš! Wink

hello Ola, how's your Poker project going?
I'm very interested in a completely decentralized gamble games.

its slowly progressing, will announce something soon...also it wouldn't be completely decentralized, at least from from an account settlement point of view..I thinks its impossible to have a completely decentralized poker as long as there is a profit motive rake...

Neither without the profit motive rake is nearly impossible as the game state should be kept
and all peers should agree on the current game state.

this is fundamental and possible with schemes like shamir's secret sharing and such...profits to sharesholders complicates things

Really! I though that could be a problem having 10 poker client peers connected between them
without 3rd party server as the majority of the clients in the game could be altered to cheat and collude.
I though something like sybil attack would be possible in this case as the network is formed only
by small amount of peers.

I will check that secret sharing that you mentioned.

you r not professional.

where is the source code for us to view? when will it be disclosed? so we can see some of your tricks ourselves.

Hello Emule.
Can you tell me what OS are you using?

Thank you very much for the heads up! I wasn't planning on investing anyway, my main focus now is NEM and I follow what is happening with NXT.
Just that I saw some PoS and PoN postings here and I thought of TimeKoin. They have very eco frendly system without fees.  Maybe some of those ideas could be used for NEM?

Hello.

Have you already tried TimeKoin?
Are you using it?
999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: February 06, 2014, 11:40:20 PM

The NXT code base makes some of the things that we want to do hard. I haven't looked at the 0.6.0 sources yet. If possible, we will reuse parts of it. If not, we have the resources to rewrite NEM from the ground up.

Last "stable" version is 0.6.1
The last version is 0.7.0e (experimantal)
They found few fatal flaws today therefore they made 2 or 3 upgrades.

Look at TimeKoin.org http://timekoin.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=56
They have a very interesting system.
They've been around for years. I hear about them just few days ago.

If you intend to invest anything in it, I would be VERY, VERY cautious, search forum for creator's nick...

From what I have understood there is no requirement to invest anything to start using timekoin.
You need just to run the client.
