981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a million dollars possible? on: December 14, 2017, 10:26:36 PM
yes it's absolutely possible if you luck out enough with the right coin, but the time to do it was 2015. i really, really can't see how it's possible with any coin anywhere near the ten or top fifty. They'd all have to go into the hundreds of billions or trillions.

you might be better off throwing shit at the wall at the very bottom, maybe not coins already trading for peanuts but rather stuff that still hasn't launched. each one should be free or cost very little too.

You just need to fing gems, hold strong, take profit on the way up and reinvest, than repeat. Then you can improve your holding by trading, but it's risky so it's better if you use the right instruments.

you didn't have to do that with any of the top ranking coins. all you had to do was wait long enough. maybe those days are gone though.
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitConnect market cap dropped from 2 billion to 600 million ? on: December 14, 2017, 09:57:06 PM
What do you think that it can happen when this ponzi scheme will go down and let at lot of people with losses ?  We speak about a market cap of $1 776 631 069 USD do I have to consider that this amount is the global value of the scam ?

nothing. almost all of that volume is taking place on an exchange they control. and it's probably bullshit anyway. it's a drop in the ocean and no one else will care.

the only potential botheration to the bitcoin market is the scammers running it attempting to dump their conned bitcoin all at once.
983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the $100 bitcoin fee on: December 14, 2017, 09:46:15 PM
Do you really want to see a crash? you are probably the only one who i found that really wants to see the price crashing.

yes. bitcoin has the potential to be ready for prime time. with the current level of attention it doesn't have the time to get ready. i'd prefer a fall and cooling off period while stuff is worked on properly instead of the whole thing seizing up and sending new users away in disgust.

a crash is gonna happen anyway, it's just a question of when.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / the $100 bitcoin fee on: December 14, 2017, 09:38:41 PM
if price and excitement carries on i can really see this becoming a reality next year. what effect would it have? would it drive out everyone but whales? would it drive out whales too if the minnows walked? would big boys take over and keep it for themselves? if that was the case would miners be making so much freaking money they'd no longer care about block size?

right now for its own health possibly the best thing bitcoin could do is crash and scare everyone away for a year or two. that should give enough time and space for businesses to integrate segwit and maybe those second layers will happen as well. by the time people come back it might be ready to accommodate them.

and no core moaning or alt pumping here. let's hear what you think could happen to bitcoin itself and nothing but if this takes place soon.
985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCONNECT - roadmap 2018: new bot version & direct exchange to fiat on: December 14, 2017, 12:30:06 PM
The only roadmap I'm expecting is one that finishes up with a lot of people losing alot of money.

I'm curious to see how long they can draw it out for and how many more awful music videos they can make.
986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET explains why bitcoin is a bubble on: December 14, 2017, 12:59:02 AM
Another paid guy who wants to discredit crypto currency. Afraid of liquidating his positions in stock market.  Wakeup guys, crypto currency is the future of the world's currency.

give the dude about 12-18 months. when we hear from him next he'll be launching his ico and crypto is now the greatest thing ever. presumably he'll be doing it through a 'rathole' to avoid having to pay back his creditors.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Honestly, did anyone see the near 200% growth in Litecoin coming on: December 13, 2017, 11:20:36 PM
personally I always have underestimated this coin, I had a chance to buy a lot of them when the price was only 15$ but I thought "naah, it is just litecoin".
I think people tend to think the same.

you had 2013 to refer to. litecoin went crazy shortly after bitcoin did. it did better returns than bitcoin that year. the thinking hasn't changed since then. people feel like they missed out on the bitcoin pump and they're priced out of it. enter litecoin just down the page.
988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET explains why bitcoin is a bubble on: December 13, 2017, 11:16:54 PM
i'm sure guys like these have seen alot of market action over the years. they also have never seen anything quite like the rise of crypto before either.

is it in a bubble right now? it's kind of hard to deny all the signs that are there. could it continue way further than we expect? you bet. no one knows anything.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 13, 2017, 11:14:21 PM

Yes, this is exchange who decides what to list and how to list. Tonych has nothing to do with this.

most exchanges will only take coin listings seriously if they're applied for by the core development team. same goes for changes i'm sure. otherwise the whole scene would be an appalling mess with scammers and assholes messing with every coin they can get their hands on.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet is the best for Bitcoin Now? on: December 13, 2017, 11:04:29 PM
useless question unless you tell us what machinery you want to use with it.

and in this day and age it's not a good idea to have a wallet without total fee control. when fees return to normal it's possible fixed ones won't and you'll be throwing away alot of money.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / indiegogo takes up the ico game on: December 13, 2017, 09:09:57 PM
https://ico.indiegogo.com

https://go.indiegogo.com/blog/2017/12/indiegogo-ico-cryptocurrency.html

what does everyone think about this? will it bring some much needed legitimacy to the ico space or attract even more heat until a tipping point is reached and the regulators move in heavily?
992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Honestly, did anyone see the near 200% growth in Litecoin coming on: December 13, 2017, 09:03:55 PM
never bought it. i did expect it.

there's a boatload of dumb money that's appeared recently. litecoin is also now on coinbase, the number one app in the ios store right now.

someone looks at bitcoin, looks at litecoin, then they buy the litecoin because you can own a whole one.

it did the exact same thing after bitcoin pumped in 2013.
993  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] | 🔥 Coinpayments.net Signature Campaign 🔥 | on: December 12, 2017, 11:58:15 PM
i hope if bitcoin fall down to 2000$ you retouch (increase) value of slot - dynamic reward (in two-way) is fair

anyway - advice time - next time is better, in my opinion, create fixed "FIAT" value converted in BTC onfly

it depends on how violent the moves are. i was in the coinroll campaign which has paid 25c per post from the beginning. that started off great but by the time i left virtually all campaigns paid more. right now on there an intense week of posting might not even pay the fees to move your earnings.

a financier has every right to get the most for their money but sig campaigners want the most for their time too.

but this campaign is still a very fantastic pay rate.
994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 10:53:34 PM
Interesting question, here is the (partial but we'll written) answer:

https://medium.com/swlh/will-the-futures-market-do-to-bitcoin-what-it-did-to-gold-b7d35704641

maybe i'm being dumb but that didn't address the question at all, all it did was make some historic comparisons to precious metals and it didn't explain the actual mechanism as to why futures affected them either.
995  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 10:40:30 PM
How is a cash settled bet on bitcoin taking away command of the market?

it doesn't on its own of course, but it inspires people with futures positions to take some direct involvement in the bitcoin market and they have a lot more money to play with than the last generation of whales.
996  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Coinroll ★ Signature Campaign ★ on: December 12, 2017, 10:35:05 PM
I PMd yahoo about it and he contacted them so in future if withdrawals have been a while just shoot him a PM and he'll likely get it sorted for you. It would be nice if we coild get some scheduled weekly/monthly withdrawal date though as it makes things easier.

i was in this campaign from the beginning. i asked for scheduled/automated payments from the beginning too. never happened. i can see why they might have been reluctant, but it makes life a whole lot easier for participants.
997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2017, 10:31:49 PM
Alts aren’t part of futures. Anyway Forget it. I’m probably just being paranoid.

let's see what happens when both futures markets are running for a while, but i think you could be on to something.

bitcoin and alt traders are used to commanding the market. if that's taken away from bitcoin then they have a whole world of other coins that they do have more control of. it's possible futures might make a two speed crypto market. as certain alts gets bigger they too might have futures at which point they're left to the bigger boys too.

it'll drive more regulation and much more discerning exchanges. they won't list shitcoins.

but whatever happens it's gonna take a while to figure out the effects.
998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is my portfolio for the investment good enough? on: December 12, 2017, 05:32:18 PM
are you really the "european central bank"?

No comment. all i will say is that we all have to unwind somehow and it's good to learn new things even when you're an old dog.
999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is my portfolio for the investment good enough? on: December 12, 2017, 05:23:29 PM
how much is $5000 to you? all of your savings or a drip in the ocean?

that's a far more important thing to settle in your head before choosing any coins. the way you feel is gonna determine your success at holding or selling. if you're too emotional then the chances are you'll throw it all away.
1000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any help on withdrawing funds from Xapo? on: December 12, 2017, 04:57:17 PM
wait. there's no way this excitement can continue. fees were fine just a few weeks ago. they'll be fine again soon. xapo won't reduce the fees to a realistic level but hopefully they should come down.

or you could apply for a xapo card, withdraw it as cash and go buy some btc elsewhere.
