At home Borrussia Dortmund have just won the game tonight, now they'll recover and go prepare for war against Newcastle United. They both look good but my verdict would be passed tommorow once Newcastle is done playing.
I'm not expecting a soft tie, a rough and hard one is mandatory, it'll be shameful to see Borrussia Dortmund leaving for Europa League.
Do you find them convincing? Borussia Dortmund won with only one goal vs Werder Bremen in a home match. If they fail to put the ball in its place most of the time then this will remain a problem for them. Newcastle United isn't Werder Bremen, it is a top team in EPL which is already a higher level competition comparing to Bundesliga. Since Dortmund will be away, I expect them to attack vigorously. They should be the first to score a goal if they take good use of whatever chances got.
I'll be excited only of they can go top of the group, Manchester United struggling so I'll be supporting the rest of the Premier League clubs present in the Champions League.
I think Newcastle United chances aren't lower than Borussia Dortmund especially in a home game for them. Newcastle is already doing better in Champions League than Dortmund. |

Roma are playing much better when it comes to European competitions by the way. For example this season they have been better in the Europa League compared to the Serie A. For the the previous two seasons I can say the same thing again. Because they won the Europa Conference League title and made it to the Europa League final stage.
Considering all this I see Roma as one of the biggest title contenders here again.
Conference League could not be compared to Champions League because simply teams are more powerful in Europa League but also there is even more difficult teams joining Europa League from Champions League including Barcelona last season for example making things harder. Mourinho didn't make Roma stable yet, they have their good moments and their bad ones. Hey guys with the recent play in Spanish la Liga which team right now do you think is going to win the Spanish la Liga. In terms of playing real Madrid and Athletico Madrid has been doing very well this period. Belgium vs Sweden, I'd expect Belgium to win with relative ease. Sweden do pose a threat but it should be manageable for Belgium. Ronaldo has so far scored 9 goals in the qualifiers. And Portugal has won all 8 of their matches in EURO qualifiers till now. This is some sort of superhuman effort from them. BTW, they should consider themselves lucky, as they were included in a weak group where the other teams are Slovakia, Luxembourg, Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina. And their next match is against the weakest team in the group - Liechtenstein. Last time when these two teams played against each other, Portugal won the match by a margin of 4-0.
Indeed Group J contains quite weak teams comparing to the other groups at a point that Portugal not only won all their matches but received only 2 goals in 8 games while scoring 32! Almost third of these goals were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo. Their next two games aren't that hard too and regardless of its results, they will end in the top of the group anyway. Slovakia should follow them soon in EURO 2024.
Netherlands made an important victory vs Greece with 1 goal. They improved a lot their chance to qualify while Greece should be nervous about missing that golden opportunity. In Group F, Belgium and Austria qualified although the match between Sweden and Belgium was suspended since Sweden is 10 points away from them with 3 matches left. Yes Messi appreciates the interest of his family and Miami is a heaven for Spanish speaking people regardless there is more to this decision. Leonel Messi would have earned far more in the Saudi Arabia, if he had chosen there but it will all end after his contract which at his age is very short. Rather Messi who already has a secured financial future still made a deal that would keep him earning for a longer time even after he leaves football, I think in the long run Messi made a better decision. Messi would have earned more in Saudi Pro League even after his contract expires since Saudi Arabia will use him as representative for their goal of hosting World Cup in the future. I absolutely agree that it is definitely a big tragedy for Paul Pogba. I still do not want to believe that he has actually done something like this. However at the same time the results are also in front of us to see. so even though we want to deny that he has done something like this, we simply cannot.
From the point of view of Juventus it is also a big loss for them. Because they had a lot of plans with him in the future, But now they have to look for a replacement very quickly because it is almost certain that he is going to get banned for several years.
Paul Pogba cannot escape from that complicated situation. The routine test was positive for testosterone and the second sampling he asked for return positive too for the same substance. He risk to be banned for 4 years and if that happens, his career will be destroyed for real. I doubt he can join a top team in top league and even Saudi Pro League or MLS will not welcome him easily. According to news PSG are still trying to convince Mbappe for another contract extension these days. They are trying everything they can to prevent him from leaving without any transfer fee. PSG are of course one of the richest European teams right now but it isn't like they are in need of a lot of money.
It wouldn't seem nice if they lose their most valuable player on free transfer. They would be criticized by everyone for letting him go like that. But it won't be easy to convince Mbappe for sure.
PSG bad decisions in rush or without a clean thinking made them suffer from many mistakes and Mbappe contract was one of that. PSG paid a lot of money to recruit players that weren't helpful for the team. Mbappe contract allowed him to get extra money from PSG thanks for his fidelity! in addition to his wage obviously.
