Will the bar be accepting BTC?

Say what you will about Minersource, but it seems like they were at least trying to do the right thing in the winter/spring of 2014 when this giant clusterfuck started - namely, refunding people whose orders had been delayed due to BA's repeated lies.
Not even close. Minersource refused refunds to as many people as possible.

Sure, he can file a lawsuit, but it would be very costly and the odds of winning are highly stacked against him.

Or sue josh personally
Good idea. Where is he hiding at these days?

(outside the country)
Speaking of fleeing the country, when are you coming back to the US to face the judge?
|
|
|
Speaking in the Bitcoin terms:
The (financial) value of analyzing 'mempool' is significantly higher than analyzing 'blockchain (as stored on the disk for the "longest chain"'.
The great thing about bitcoin is all that information is public. If you think fraud, double-spend, abuse malleability, etc. are important, you're quite welcome to write a node that analyzes those issues. Sounds like an excellent project.

the fat lady (or josh) has not sang yet.
Can you say anything about the lawsuit? The docket hasn't been updated.
|
|
|
Just because it was supported by a judge in a court of law of the U.S. doesn't make it right. Do you agree with every decision that every US court has ever made?
Just ignore him. He does everything he can to defend HF and derail any thread that is critical of HF.

I browsed the forum from a new machine, and as such wasn't logged in. Normally I have sigs turned off. Wow, I forgot how awful the sigs are. There is no use to having them on. They are a disaster.

$ ~/bitcoin-0.10.2/bin/bitcoin-cli getmempoolinfo { "size" : 59651, "bytes" : 112127725 }
Impressive, but not unexpected. Transactions have always been very cheap. I'm surprised this attack didn't happen before.

2-3 halvings? I think that as early as next halving 50 BTC >> 25 BTC the 'miners' will change their actual tactic and start to accept everything without any insane rules . That could be as soon as next year, which would be great. Fees are still under 1% of the block value, but after the next halving they could be over 1%. That might be enough.
|
|
|
Won't that be tons of years into the future ?
I think it'll just take another 2-3 halvings before miners won't be able to ignore the value of including transactions. Unfortunately, the days of the hobbyist miner are over. Large mining farms value short-term profit over blockchain health. Satoshi's halving schedule was a little too conservative.
|
|
|
I'm looking forward to the day when mining income is derived mostly from including transactions. Miners/pools who create empty blocks on purpose are bad for the blockchain.

Could you please explain how a Ponzi will stop taking new orders, bar new people to join and still keep paying ? It is now almost a week, they are not taking order or allowing new people to join. According to you, they dont have any mining firm.
That's how successful cons work. They pretend to be real. They turn off orders for a short time to sucker people into thinking it's real. If they are mining, there are many ways to prove it. They've never proved any such mining going on. So, how will they survive if they stop money to roll in ?
Don't worry, they'll open up orders soon enough, long before they run out of profits.

Sorry that you got tired cause my posts. I hope this goes on the nervs of the BA admin too. Um, they're just laughing you. It's like a drinking game for them. Everyone someone complains (and does nothing about it), they take a drink and laugh boisterously. There is zero chance of anyone getting a refund due to posting here.

Bought for 216 btc, selling for 720 btc. Nice profit!

I take it he and/or his lawyers didn't show up in court on 6/4/2015.

+1 After adding a few people to my ignore list, and disabling all sigs, the forum is so much better! Sigs are pointless. Just turn them off in your account settings. In fact, sigs should be off by default. If someone wants to turn them back on, that's fine by me.
