981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun creates "the most decentralized Stablecoin" on: April 23, 2022, 09:12:24 AM
I'm not really sure how many decentralized stablecoins are there. I know only about DAI. Though I haven’t used DAI for the last 1 or 2 years almost, I think DAI is working perfectly so far. So, I don't think Justin Sun is going to create something which would really be the best in the market but it would be fine to get one more from a guy from Justin Sun.
I had the same knowledge. I have been trying to look for more stablecoins with decentralized idea but it's only DAI that comes out. If this becomes successful then I will know two but I have my doubts when I see "USD" being used as part of the name. IMO, its healthy to have doubts first as it will make you question the quality of the project or whether they will follow what they are aiming for.
More details.
Quote
USDD will be pegged to the underlying asset, TRX, and issued in a decentralized manner. When USDD’s price is lower than 1 USD, users and arbitrageurs can send 1 USDD to the system and receive 1 USD worth of TRX.

982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 22, 2022, 07:35:51 PM
Biggest choker this playoffs so far, but if you like betting on the Timberwolves, probably betting on 1st half is way more appealing than the full game.
If we discuss about chokers, I think its the Utah Jazz that is worst of all.
The Mavericks are playing without their star Luka Doncic who had been the heart and soul of the team and yet they had the hard time winning that first game and worse they lose twice against them. 1 road and 1 home. Either Coach Snyder is not taking this seriously or he loves Gobert so much he doesn't want to bench him. That's the only way to win it because he had been the weakness of the team from last year and now.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: invested in these coins on: April 22, 2022, 05:42:54 PM
BNB and SOL. We do have 2 in common. XRP is mostly for my usage in different transactions but yes I have them too but not literally an asset like you do.
I'd keep the 2 mentioned for long term and maybe when this bear market is done I could sell them and wait for another dump for a buy back and increase the amount I can keep.
I'd think about keeping Shib as it's a meme coin and there's no assurance where it could any time with its high risk and basically what it's called. You could play with it by trading but I advise not to store long term.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 22, 2022, 04:58:55 PM
I feel bad for my Nuggets team. I don't think they will recover from this 3-0. They will not get any win and the Warriors will get their long rest. It's clear as daylight as to whatever play they make it's hard to beat a team whose offensive power is above the roof.
The same with the Hawks.

The Chicago Bulls though is showing good chemistry and even stole a win in the Bucks home. Now it's the Bulls territory and I am sure it will boosts their confidence more.
985  Economy / Economics / Re: What should be a good ROI for a startup? on: April 22, 2022, 12:57:39 PM
ROI for startups? Lol. If you would see most of the scaled startups around 80% of them are unprofitable even at the EBITDA level which is Earnings before Interest Depreciation & Amortization. This means they are running on zero ROI in fact most of them are just burning cash. Startups these days are more about increasing your revenues even if that comes at a huge acquisition cost, also some startups don't even work for revenue, they are running and scaling due to their increasing consumer base, so I don't think you should worry a lot about ROI in the initial stages of a startup, Focus on improving customer acquisition, retention & satisfaction and just try to avoid cash-burning, try liquidating your equity a bit by finding investors because that would be the only quick way to scale up your business.
I appreciate @teosanru for stretching the details. Now I understand what OP means.
Most of them fail as I read thru different examples of it.
Is it that much different with an ICO? Because as I understand it, it's a startup for developing a product which they think will be in demand in the long run. (scalable startups) It's high risk, if I am not mistaken.
TikTok is a good example, right? It boomed because of the unique way of sharing videos or whatever the kids are doing now.
So ROI, can it really be calculated if that is the industry of the startup?
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making e-sports more affordable on: April 21, 2022, 05:43:06 PM
I'm rather confused. Aren't most E-Sports titles free to play anyway?
Same. I thought DOTA is free and so is Counter Strike. I am confused too. Valorant is free as I checked their website. Why would they need to recreate if they could just enhance the quality of the game.
I think it's the entry fees in tournaments that should be given out for free occasionally to invite more players that have no capitals or managers to support them. Who knows if there is a gifted player in the slums who cannot afford anything and just renting a computer to play the game in his free time will become the new star of E-sports.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Crypto profits on: April 21, 2022, 11:00:53 AM
I do use my profits and that includes the payment I receive from the signature campaign that I joined it. Part of it will go in a kept wallet and the other part will be some addition to paying bills if necessary. As much as possible, I want to keep my goal of having Bitcoin in whole numbers and that's why I am trying harder to make profits in NFT investments to be exchanged for Bitcoin or Ethereum.
We don't have any idea when this assets will explode again so better if you are prepared and invested.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 21, 2022, 08:21:36 AM
Impressive for Bulls holding off a Bucks' comeback in the second half. It's also a different DeRozan this time compared to his poor shooting in game 1. Game 3 will be tricky for me as because of injuries to Middleton and Portis. I'll wait for updates before placing a bet on this one. I would most likely pick Bucks if they're all healthy.
DeRozan vowed something after the dismal shooting in Game 1. “No way in hell I shoot 6 for 25 again.” And he did not let the Bulls fans down. Now his name is everywhere on Twitter with different memes and shocked expressions. That last shot that put the dagger was the best one to prove everything.
A lay up against the Finals MVP Champion.
I love the fact that he is not forcing three point shots. I know he can but that mid range shot is the masterpiece. Takes me back to the 80-90s era.
989  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is a puzzle ! on: April 20, 2022, 06:07:54 PM
Puzzles for the spoiled.  Cheesy
I am in the lower class and didn't have that perks to think about puzzles or anything. Go on with your life. Study, get a job, if you are lucky someone will like you, get a house. It stops there. A retirement plan takes place when you feel some parts of you body are hurting, that when you know your kids are near to leave you some place with old people.
I invest but those are still not for me but for my kids. I guess I will think about that retirement thing when I am done giving them halfway that puzzle.
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 20, 2022, 05:04:45 PM
Yeah, it was Butler in the last 3-4 minutes of the game, 40+ points in game 2, that's huge. Too much experience I would say, Butler and the rest of the Heat knows how to protect that lead and then their defense against Trae Young in that crucial minutes. Bogdanovic though continue to score in the 1:30 mark but it was too late already. And then the Heat putting the ball to their best FT shooter to seal the win for them.
I honestly didn't like how he ended up with 45 points while the rest are under 20 points. It doesn't look good for the team's overall performance but a win is still a win. I've seen them do better as a team and I expect a more balanced scoring and more ball movement from them in game 3.
I like the way he stepped up. He is a known star before and until now but the inconsistency became a problem. It's still fresh in my memory on how performed a great battle of Finals game against Lebron James in the bubble where both of them are exhausted and running every offense of their team.
It may not be a balance scoring but there will be times it will end like this. Even Tyler Herro had his shining moments when every Heat player is having an off night. They are proving worthy to be a championship team.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the hate on XRP on: April 20, 2022, 06:27:11 AM
I care about usage and this coin (XRP) is one on my list with most usage rather than other coins. Even against Bitcoin for that is an asset for me that is meant to be kept.
Where did you find the "too much hate" thing? If I were you I'll take it as a positive thing for it means it can be one of the best. The same with what they do with Bitcoin attacking it left and right without even proof to back it up or knowledge about it. It's fun having a competitor and I think they want to bring XRP down so they can reign the centralized market.
992  Other / Archival / Re: How will the stock market crash affect the price of bitcoin in 2022? on: April 19, 2022, 07:41:45 PM
Tradition should change. Once the stock market is down, something must be up. And it should be bitcoin in the front being reported by mainstream media.
That's the only problem in my opinion. Whenever the stocks are down, they want them cash and never invested in anything else.
Options. There should always be one whenever a drought happens. But because of the negative news being fed in traditional investors they would never try to use new kinds of investing and just let it be. Traditions passed down to new generations. But I believe there will be growth somewhere in the future. Change.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 19, 2022, 04:48:24 PM
I lost my prediction earlier because I thought that the Utah Jazz will easily beat the Lucka-less Mavericks. But guess what?  They've lost and because of that, the game will be unpredictable between these two teams. I think this kind of series will gonna reach game 7 since they already giving us some idea on how they strong they are and they are capable of beating one another, which team do you guys think will win?
Yeah, sorry man. It's not being unpredictable. It's Jazz which has the problem with Mavs. With Luka in it, it's a sure win and without the Mavericks does have a chance to beat them. First point, coaching problem. Coach Snyder is forcing Rudy Gobert to be on the floor even if he has not much use on both offense and defense. Pointguards won't even give him the ball or just can't.
Defensive end, he cannot match the speed of the small ball Mavs. I think he should just rest him up and use him again whenever need be.

I don't see any chance for the Denver to win in this series and I know many are thinking that way as well. Maybe if the shooters of Warriors are having a bad night then they might have a chance.
I agree on that even if it hurts as a Nuggets fan. I cannot see them winning any or just a lucky one with this kind of play. Something must be changed first and that is too much relying on the Joker.
994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A new warning for iPhone and Apple product users on: April 19, 2022, 01:46:02 PM
Never use the Cloud for saving anything that has connection with assets and money. I learned about that Cloud with a friend who is looking for help to fix his Iphone. I tried and was surprised I could see all his passwords just by opening the Cloud. It's not safe, I'd rather stick with my Android and use a memory device to save some information but still never the passwords.
The best option is to write it down and burglary will be the only thing you should be worried about in case they know you own cryptos.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: April 19, 2022, 07:55:50 AM
Bitcoin. Always first choice in my list. Market is down, could be the best time if all goes well.
Ethereum as the next choice. POS is coming and there might be some anxiety floating around in different forums and social media outlets but I doubt it will  go down just because of that. A bull market may have a better chance if it will be a success. A risk that I am willing to take if I had the spare money.
My other choice is gaming platforms being injected with cryptocurrencies. You could check it out yourself as there are many choices now. Just be sure its a game with a possibility of a good future.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 19, 2022, 07:12:53 AM
Warriors vs Nuggets later.
I wish Coach Malone has something up in his sleeves to counter attack. Judging by the way it ended at game 1, it was too far to say they have a winning chance at road or even at home. This Game 2 is to prove that wrong. Get a lead or end the game in a close battle. Just don't let it become another blowout game.
Will be supporting the Nuggets with +7.

It would be an interesting game if coach Malone will find a good system to counter Warriors offense or have a tough defensive stop

to avoid the Warriors in making more good looks with their shots, Poole covered Steph numbers, with lesser minutes for Steph

but good enough to produce decent numbers. Warriors are very deadly in terms of ball rotations. Better to keep closer and not to

let the players to build strong confidence, they will keep shooting the ball and give you a higher percentage in making those shots.

There may not be anything left. I saw Facu played after Jokic was ejected due to 2 technical fouls. Why don't they use them earlier for defensive purposes? That's the question that had been clouding my mind after the game.
Warriors have 4 threats on outside shots with Wiggins, Poole, Klay, and Curry. They need someone who can defend those guys and somehow be also effective on the offensive end. Facu is one of those guys that can do both.
The only threat I see is Jokic on the Nuggets side and Draymond Green got that covered while the others are shut down. Expecting a sweep or 4-1. Unless Murray will be forced to step in.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How was last crypto bear market on: April 18, 2022, 07:27:02 PM
Anything in cryptospace that includes investing was a bad idea back then.  Grin It's all FUD north and south and you will have a hard time to buy anything, what more with staking. It took a year before it became a normal volatile movement again, it's too stagnant that you will doubt anything even trading.
Another impact of that slow straight movement was the urge to look for new projects. I doubt something survived that was released on that time.
998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the price of Bitcoin still in such a state? on: April 18, 2022, 06:17:46 PM
How is it downhill if it didn't even hit less that $20k where the expectation are when it was at $9k or less.
Now that we saw it can hit $60k then we want more? Ain't that just greed?
We are lucky enough to see that it stays at this amount even at large amount of altcoins being created outside. Competition is a healthy way to know the strength of one asset but when it goes far like what is happening now it's bad for business. The value will decrease when they find better options and the same goes with the demand.

1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT development on: April 18, 2022, 10:29:25 AM

There are now many countless stories of people who succeeded in selling their creatives as NFTs with some making millions. Of course, having a unique story or a background can help a lot side from the beauty of the NFT being sold. Yeah, many people are really wondering how can an ordinary piece of a picture - or even a picture of a rock - can command a high price in the market. Certainly, from a standpoint of many of us who are wondering how come there are many people who are willing buy a very expensive picture NFT, these stories can be amazing and truly unbelievable. And it can be because we can easily find and download for free similar images on the net. Well, can it because they are already metamorphosed into NFT...or maybe because there are undying hypes on the NFT industry? The exact answer is still scaping my mind. Maybe I should be making an NFT with me wondering why there are millions that can be made in an ordinary picture of an ape.
The NFT market is practically the biggest scam as we also see in the ICO and IEO era, but again the time is gone and just a few people are presently benefiting from the NFT market.
Not the biggest scam if done right. You can make money out of it if you are one of the early investors. Sorry for the late ones but I am also part early, part late. I invested with NFT projects that are on a beta phase and some while they are a trend on the market already.
There's also a strategy of pulling out your investment once you see profits. It's not that different from ICO and IEO era. Handle it the same way without high expectation and you will surely make money.
Falling in love with them had always been the rekt-ing point. Ride the hype, get out.
