1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the potential of $Waves? on: Today at 04:44:29 PM
Hi, some years back Waves has been hyped as the next Etherium. What do you all think about this project? Does it still have any potential?
Yes several years ago Waves was considered Ethereum's closest competitor but they are left behind in terms of development and adoption, I remember back then it was easy to create a token on Waves you only needed one Waves to create a token and even a newbie can create one.

I remember creating one for fun and it's easy, but their platform is not popular now among developers they are not the chain of choice by developers.

So many news chains came out and Waves was left behind in developing its platform so many investors dumped Waves because of their lag in marketing and development.
It's better to invest in new chains like Solana or Polygon.

I too remember waves being a big deal in the past. It was hyped to be the next Ethereum. There once was a photo of waves founder Alexander Ivanov shaking hands with Vitalik Buterin. Not exactly sure about where waves lagged and was left behind. The easy token issue made waves a popular network for scam and spam tokens, that could be a negative impact on the image. Waves still was relevant a few years back but now it does stays in some exchange but there are no new updates about it. Newer and faster L1 solutions have killed many of such networks like NEM, it could be the same reason for waves.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Final
Today will be the most competitive game between these two teams, Kolkata Knight Riders team is stronger in this match. Strong in both batting line and bowling line, Sunrise Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat. However, if the Kolkata Knight Riders can put pressure on the bowling side in the beginning of this match, then surely the Kolkata Knight Riders have the biggest chance of winning in this match today. Because today's match will be full of most competition because will try hard enough to win.

Kolkata Knight Riders bowling side has a strong storm of pace but Sunrisers Hyderabad will need Klaasen and Markram to survive and play an innings of at least 150 runs if Sunrisers Hyderabad are to form a big run pair. Because later Sunrisers Hyderabad have good batting only Cummins. In terms of runs SRH win probability is very low because KKR is a good team, so if you calculate the average of fighting runs with them, i think it should go above 200. But i think SRH can go close to 150 runs toda.
Fantastic bowling by the Kolkata Knight Riders! KKR's bowlers were on a mission today, and Mitchell Starc showed he's made for big events. Captain Pat Cummins' decision to bat first turned out to be a mistake. Sunrisers Hyderabad had a rough time in Chennai, losing their 8th wicket before even reaching 100 runs. This game was over for Sunrisers Hyderabad, and the rest was just a formality.
It's frustrating to watch a one-sided final after two months of the tournament, but congratulations to KKR in advance for winning the final.

Sun risers Hyderabad had been highly depended on Travis Head for their win. Travis Head today became a golden duck. The bowling attack of KKR bowlers decimated the batting line up of SRH. Only 4 players were able to get to a double digit score. Pat Cummins, the bowler (and captain) being their highest scorer.
The target of 114 in just walk in the Park for KKR. This match doesn't even look like a final. KKR has fully dominated over SRH. KKR might be able to get to the target within 10 to 12 overs. Even though SRH takes some early wicket KKR do have a dependable middle order.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good time to buy Aptos on: Today at 02:37:14 PM
Aptos could be a good investment at the moment if you are planning for long term. Aptos is still in development but has already shown some impressive performance. The network is deemed more user friendly as it uses move as programming language. It's a direct competitor to Solana and Solana being the standard today, Aptos has the capacity to outperform Solana in TPS theoretically. The problem with Aptos is that they don't have a number for max supply, they claim it would be a fixed number but they haven't announced it yet, it makes difficult for traders to speculate.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversify memecoin investments? on: Today at 01:55:04 PM
Memecoins are crazy in the sense the price goes wild anytime and generally there are cycle of rise and fall between different meme coins. Fundamentally meme coins are not much different from each other and the only thing that makes them valuable is trust and popularity. In my opinion, if you have to invest 1000 euro on meme coins, it's best to invest 100 euro each on top 10 meme coins by volume in last 7 days. It's what determines what people are buying. You just need to happen and one of them would keep rising multiple times now and than.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: Today at 12:06:39 PM
There are pros and cons of renting and buying a house. The renting vs buying can depend upon the price, your job prospectus as well as the interest rate from the banks. There are many calculators like this one from nytimes that may help you find the difference in cost
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/upshot/buy-rent-calculator.html

But having a home might have many other emotional advantage like you have a place to call home, your children can inherit the property after you. Even though the value of land and house fluctuates, a home would also be dear to you and most people are unlikely to sell it unless they have to leave permanently.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Final

Today will be the final match of Indian Premier League, the match will be between Kolkata and Hyderabad. Kolkata has performed brilliantly in this tournament. On the other hand, Hyderabad has shown a surprise by scoring big this time. However, today's match is going to be a very interesting and competitive match as both the teams are strong. So far there have been two matches between Kolkata and Hyderabad and Kolkata beat Hyderabad in both the matches. So based on performance Kolkata is stronger team than Hyderabad. If I have to predict today's match then I will put Kolkata team ahead. I think Kolkata can win today. However, Hyderabad have lost two matches against Kolkata so they will try to play well today. Let's see which team wins in the end and become champions.
The final match is thrilling one between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad and started within 4 hours . Everyone is predicting Kolkata Knight Riders team to win this IPL final against the Sunrises Hyderabad and I'm also predicting Kolkata Knight Riders as a winner 2024 year. Kolkata Knight Riders needs a excellent total to beat sunrises Hyderabad.

KKR is a more balanced team than SRH. Their bowlers are in good form, and their batting is clicking at the right time. On the other hand, SRH's win depends solely on their opening batters, if they manage to score runs against KKR, they will win the match. I think SRH's middle order should take responsibility in this match, as a lot depends on them after the fall of Head and Abhishek. Chakravarthy and Starc will be the keys for KKR in the final.
KKR is the favourite to win the final, but I expect a little surprise. I think SRH might win the game tonight.

KKR has time and again proved to be the best team this season. They have already defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoffs so they would be the favourite team to win today. Kolkata Knight rider being an older team compared to SRH, they have a large fan following.
But the game of T20 cricket could be highly unpredictable as a single player can change the fate of the team by batting or by bowling. Travis Head is such a player that can change the game anytime. Getting him out should be the first priority for KKR. KKR surely have a more balanced batting lineup. Among bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy from KKR and Thangarasu Natarajan from SRH would be the players to watch.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: Today at 12:58:03 AM
At current times, England is a much better T20 team than Pakistan is. I was sure about England dominating over Pakistan in T20 and they did.
Considering the batting of England for the end of 14th over, they were 130/2 and I expected them to reach at least 200 and the end of the inning but the middle order failed to score and hold the wickets. Still target of 184 was going to be an overkill for Pakistan. They started bad, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman did tried to get some hope, the middle order too did well but they were behind in run rate and kept losing wicket being all out with 4 balls and lost by 23 runs.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Country and nation culture is the economic strenght of nation on: Today at 12:04:57 AM
The culture is more related to the identity of the people. It's something that makes the people different from rest of the world. But the culture we are saving should be positive and acceptable at contemporary time. The culture cannot be an excuse for doing illegal things. For example, marrying a child may be a culture somewhere but it can't be defended and practiced in modern times. A child don't have the capacity to think about what they want in a partner, what family responsibilities are, are not physically mature and don't even have a choice.
Culture enforcing is another serious problem, people of culture, the one who believes their culture is better than others seem to defame or criticize others who don't have similar culture. Culture is a changing topic and with enough interaction and company the culture around the world would keep getting similar.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which of these coins has highest chance to 10x? on: May 25, 2024, 04:26:06 PM
Shiba Inu because it's a meme coin. All other needs to show work in progress to maintain the price. Some achievements and working prototypes for a price rise. The price rises too be subtle ones large rise being around like x2. But Shiba Inu doesn't require any reasoning, updates from developers or partnerships. No one would ask for a working product or the number of uescase. All people look at is how popular it is and to remind, Shiba Inu and Near protocals daily transaction volume are around the same while others are much lower.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: May 25, 2024, 03:59:39 PM
And Manchester united have to keep the defense save because they know the condition of there goalkeeper and i see fans of Manchester united are happy but there is still time so they should came down the league is not yet over there celebration should be after the conclusion of the game.
Manchester United played quite well in this final match, even though Ten Hag will succeed in bringing Manchester United to win the FA title, of course Ten Hag may still have to be replaced because it makes Manchester United not really in a good condition in the EPL this season, this victory must be celebrated and everyone Manchester United supporters are certainly happy with this result because they have had bad results in the league so consoling themselves with this FA Cup can cure all their disappointment.

I know that Manchester City is not in a good condition even though they are playing with their key players but it is not producing results, I also don't want to be too quick to predict that Manchester United will win and win this FA title, but they have that chance and they shouldn't Skip it as long as you don't play defensively at the end of the match because it's possible that Manchester City will continue to attack and score goals. The safe way is that Manchester United must score more goals to be calm until the end of the match and postpone any celebrations until the match is over.  Grin

Spectacular performance from Manchester United against Manchester City. This Manchester Derby game in the FA cup final was supposed to be dominated by Manchester City. Even though Manchester City controlled most of the ball time, Manchester United had been more effective in attack. The 30th and 39th minute goal from Garnacho and Mainoo put ManU at 2-0 lead at the end of the 1st half. Manchester City were more aggressive on the second half but had to wait till 87th minute to score back a goal. But that too was not able to save them from defeat.
After a lackluster performance in the league, the FA cup title came as an compensatory prize for the team. They indeed got more recognition than Chelsea this season.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 25, 2024, 03:35:37 PM
People need some amount of money in order to lead a quality life fulfilling the needs of food, shelter, education, health and well being. Any money more than that would either be useless or be used for non necessary expenses. It's not that people don't waste their money when they're poor, they do more so when the money comes easy.
The "looting" is both of ethical and legal matter. The illegal way of earning money is more prominent when the law are weak, there's no rule of law or the law enforcing and defining institutions are corrupt. It also is more prominent on the society that are ethically poor. The place which has high level of corruption generally have poor moral values. But with necessary strengthening of law and following it strictly and equally, people and societies can change.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 25, 2024, 02:34:54 PM
Interesting start of the series between England vs Pakistan with we are having second T20i after putting into bat by Pakistan we are having good start from English batsmen all doing impressive job with they are just coming back from the Indian Premier League duty which is helping them for hitting hard to out of form Pakistan bowlers after 11 overs we are having 97 for 2 with Joe Buttler and Jonny Bairstow at the crease which can give good end of this inning to England with 200 could be good score for them if they want to keep their winning streak at 9 as England never lost any T20i against Pakistan in last 8 games.
After having second wicket of Will Jack now Pakistani bowlers having some better time as we are having no boundary in last 15 balls but run-rate is still at the 8.50.

Both the Men and Women team of Pakistan seems to be touring England at the same time. The fate of Pakistan Women team has been unmemorable but Pakistan men's team ought to be a good competition to the English team. Pakistan men's team have won the only T20 world cup held in England. England too is a strong team and defending champion for the T20 world cup. This series is the practice for the upcoming T20 world cup. Pakistan and England are playing 4 T20 all together in this series of which the 1st was abandoned due to rain, now there's three left and on the 2nd T20, England batted the first inning and are currently are in a strong position to give a huge target for Pakistan.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 25, 2024, 10:38:21 AM
Things went really interesting for Barcelona recently. First Xavi was leaving, then they convinced him to stay but later on there were some problems occurring once again. Now he has got sacked officially.  Sad

Now one of the serious candidates is Hansi Flick. I think he would be one of the greatest choices. Because he is a manager who has a career filled with many titles. He is a World Cup winner manager (with Germany in 2014) before anything else.  Grin  He just hasn't managed a team out of Germany yet. But I don't see it as a negative side for now.

I hope Barcelona starts a better era with him and it would be consistent as well.  Smiley
Xavi dismissal did trigger controversy which also stemmed from controversial remarks in recent weeks, previously Barcelona continued to try to ask Xavi to stay, but when he had agreed to stay at Barcelona Xavi was fired only because of a trivial matter, the dismissal carried out by Barcelona was certainly beyond our expectations so far after Xavi was able to lift Barcelona performance from the slump, so far Xavi has put all his mind and energy so far For Barcelona but unfortunately the sacking does not seem to reflect an attitude of appreciation for all of Xavi performance at Barcelona at the moment, when later maybe Barcelona with Hansi Flick slumped in Barcelona of course everyone will assume it is karma for Xavi dismissal.

Hansi Flick is a coach full of experience and also proven to be able to handle large teams so far, some of the prestigious trophies he was able to give to Bayern Munich are clear evidence of his coaching prowess so far, but we cannot deny if Hansi Flick success at Bayern Munich cannot be separated from the depth of the Bayern Munich squad which was very capable at that time,  But next season of course we will see different things when he coaches Barcelona, Barcelona who are indeed in a financial crisis of course will not be able to buy great and expensive players so indeed Hansi Flick has to work hard to improve Barcelona performance with makeshift players and I think maybe Hansi Flick will find it difficult to do that.

Xavi was a good option for Barcelona. There are less manager who are emotionally connected to Barcelona as Xavi is. His entire career was spent playing for Barcelona and he worked all he can to pick together a team from a crumbling club. He did his best from what he have and led the team to 2nd position at the end of the league.
Hansi Flick is a good manager but it would be his first managing a Spanish Club. He can bring the German tactics to Barcelona team. Whether he'd be more success than Xavi is still to be seen but I don't have a high hope from what Barcelona holds now. I guess Hansi would want to reshuffle the team a bit. A failure may mean Barcelona would go further down on the table.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your preferred method of converting bitcoin (or other crypto) to fiat? on: May 25, 2024, 08:22:30 AM
I know this question has probably been asked a bunch of times before, but with the ever-changing crypto landscape, I'm curious to hear everyone's latest thoughts.

What method do you find most convenient and cost-effective for converting your crypto holdings to fiat currency? CEXs, P2P, Debit Cards... ? Also curious if any new or up-and-coming techniques are on your radar.

I'm using P2P. Not only are they easier than getting it on bank account through some business but I also get better rates. I don't even have to think of calculating about my crypto taxes as I'm getting it on bank as fiat but it's not linked to crypto. In both case I'm getting the money into my bank account, one has more paperworks, more tax and commission while other have less commission. There are people talking about the bad experience they had while doing P2P but I never had that experience as I go only with highly rated traders.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Work From Home or The "Laptop Class" is Immoral or Not? on: May 25, 2024, 07:54:05 AM
As a person who have worked from home during pandemic and now going office again, what I realized is I'm more productive when I'm at a formal setting. It could also be associated with habit or persona discipline but when I work from home, I barely get the job done, I also procrastinate more and finish the job only when I'm required to.
When I'm at my office table with my office computer, my mind and body works like a machine, I get things done quick, am able to parallel process many task and completes task as soon as I can. I don't have anything to distract me and don't even check my phone once. While if I were at home, I would have a lot of distractions.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can soccer players collaborate with gamblers to help them win there bet? on: May 25, 2024, 07:13:10 AM
It's unfortunate to see such fixing in a top league. Though it has gotten rare, they are not being able to completely get rid of it.Spot fixing has always been a part of football. There are many cases where single or a few number of players did or didn't did anything for money. It's much easier and mostly unrecognizable so it's still popular in high level games. The problem comes when they try to use or move that money. The funds of players and their families in most of large teams are on watch.
Paqueta comes form Brazil so money is a great deal for him and it would be easier for him to receive and launder it in brazil. It's still accusation but I think the FA has clear evidence to start the investigation.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The practice of self insurance and a boost to personal finance on: May 25, 2024, 06:10:58 AM
I do have a multiple funds for the security and retirement at old age.
I have a pension fund where I deposit 10% of my salary, it's automatic process as it gets deducted from my payroll. I get the benefits once I reach 60 as monthly income or if I decides to quit it early and take everything as cash at once.
Similarly I have a life insurance with a 40 years coverage. If I don't die early, I get the cash and interest but if I die, my family would get the double the amount I would have saved in 40 years.
I have another optional fund which provides me interest and stocks depending upon how much profit they get in what form. I started it with 17.5% of my salary but as I took stocks and crypto trading on my hands, it's now reduced to 2%.
I plan to have a health insurance as I plan on being a parent and looking for a basic one that covers most of costly procedures and illness.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After ETH ETF, now it's time for ETH ATH? on: May 25, 2024, 05:32:59 AM
The $5k prediction after this SEC approval of the Ethereum Spot ETF is too low at least it should be at the rate of $7k -$10k and the price should continues increase like bitcoin did it own. After the approval of bitcoin ETF, the price of bitcoin has been in good condition till now. And if bitcoin decline to $17k again now, people would not complain that they loss from their investments because almost everyone has benefited from the bull run and All Time High.
But the last time when I checked Ethereum, the transaction fee is getting better so people can invest now before the price increase to the predicted amount.

When someone sells, there's someone who buys. So, there's no such thing as everyone being in profit even if the price declines. The profit are made by those who enters at the right time and leaves at the right time and regarding crypto, the one that have patience on what he believes in and hold till he's in profit.
What we have to admit is crypto market is no longer an ever increasing market for every coins. It makes the choice more important than ever.
We've seen bitcoin rising after getting ETF and just crossing it's all time high and is still around that. Similarly 5K is a prediction that supposes Ethereum too would just cross its all time high.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL Cricket on: May 24, 2024, 11:06:48 PM
RR and SRH fought for the final spot to play against KKR. Rajasthan winning the toss chose to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad had a good start but the lower batting order could not score as they kept losing it. They gave an average target 176 which was thought would be easily achieved by Rajasthan Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel did their job but other batsmen failed to have quick runs making everyone's strike rate except these two to below 100. This slow scoring and quick wickets at later game made it difficult for RR batsmen to attack SRH bowlers and lost the game with 36 runs.
Finally, the league ranking proved to be the real ranking even after playoffs. SRH has been the second best team on the whole league but the final can move to any direction.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH a commodity now? on: May 24, 2024, 08:57:58 AM
According to the recent SEC filing you all know, ETH is now a commodity - highlight: according to the SEC

Is there still a chance that some other force (e.g. congress) will overthrow SEC's right to make this decision?

(Source: SEC mentions ETF funds as Commodity-Based Trust Shares: https://www.sec.gov/files/tm/lk87adfs99.pdf )

It can be traded as commodity. Commodity market is a different market than crypto and has it's own way of operation and taxes.
I don't think it makes all of ETH as commodity in the US, it's just that ETH issued as ETF is traded as commodity. People can still have and trade ETH on the network or on exchange but ETF issuers can also buy and sell ETH ETF which might be backed by an equal number of ETH locked somewhere.
I don't think the congress or the president of US would undo the decision of SEC as SEC themselves are a very conservative in matter of economic decisions and they might have already got pre-approval in doing that.
