1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changing Perception About Gambling on: July 09, 2024, 06:46:14 AM
Yes, gambling generate a lot of taxes, but it also create a burden on the government. A lot of people with gambling problems turn to crime to feed their addiction and then they hurt other people.

How many times have we read about employees stealing money from their work and bankrupting those businesses... this leads to unemployment for the many other innocent people that worked for these businesses.

The opposite is also true... some people win millions in Lotteries and they start businesses... creating jobs for many people.

There are many good and bad things that might come from the gambling industry and responsible gambling can change people's lives in a positive way.

Regulation should govern gambling operations to help prevent gambling addiction and all the negative things that come with that.
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Just For Laugh] What kind of advice is this? 😂 🤣 🤣 on: July 09, 2024, 06:20:00 AM
The guy is acctually saying that the borrower are slowly digging his own grave.

My father always said, never borrow money from someone, because you can only run for so long, until you get caught and living a life, constantly having to look over your shoulder... are not a life worth living.

People kill for money... so you should not mess with their wealth... work for your own money.

3  Economy / Economics / Re: Will AI taking people jobs and make the world worse? on: July 09, 2024, 06:11:18 AM
AI can also be beneficial for the human race, because it can free us to concentrate on things that are more important.

Most people are working between 8 to 10 hours a day, doing something repetative, that most AI can do. Let's say AI can be  used to "free" up some time for people to study or learn new skills and also to enjoy life more.

Why should people work 8 to 10 hour shifts in a low paying job, if they can do something better with their time. (Higher production = more taxes for the government and more taxes can be used to pay for the skill improvement of the human race.)
4  Economy / Economics / Re: We need small communities and towns to create circular Bitcoin economies on: July 09, 2024, 06:00:48 AM
I recently watched this video on Youtube ==> https://youtu.be/wp2SonEgquQ?si=TyyraoFQ5pL9PZ2x and I realized that mass adoption of Bitcoin will only happen, if small circular economies, within the bigger economies are formed.

If you watched the video, you will see that it first started with 1 merchant and then more merchants and shops in the same town and then it spread to the neighboring towns.

Rome were not built in one day, but it started with one or two houses and it grew from there... and the same thing can be applied to Bitcoin adoption.

Let's build a Bitcoin empire!

I just watch the video and I feel like moving down there, looks so peaceful and very clean environment, I wish other small towns can endorse this same adoption but this can only work in a country where Bitcoin isn't seen as a threat. There are countries who doesn't like to hear the word Bitcoin, so trying to make these merchants thing go viral so others can adopt the same payment will only land them in more trouble.

My only small concern is how this merchant are able to work with the Bitcoin volatility. If there is a way they maximize profits without been worried about Bitcoin volatility for people that bought large items that cost more will be helpful because most of the merchants that aren't interested in Bitcoin payment isn't even the transaction fee, lightening network has solved that but the days of volatility is what I'm only bothered about, if there is a way about that, more merchants will love to accept Bitcoin.

Price "Volatility" only become a problem, if you convert bitcoin to Fiat currencies, but in a circulating economy like this, coins are not converted to Fiat.

Remember... X pay Y for a product and Y pay Z for a service and the bitcoins stay in circulation. Yes, some things can only be paid in Fiat currencies, but that is why they are running a dual payment option, with both Fiat currencies and Bitcoin being accepted as a payment option.

If you need "cash".. you still have the option to convert some of your bitcoins to Fiat currency.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is the Dollar good and Bitcoin bad for people on: July 09, 2024, 05:46:57 AM
You really want to tell us "Fractional reserve banking" are better than Bitcoin? This is what is wrong with some people.... they see the danger and they experience the danger, but they ignore it.

What have you learnt from the previous economic crisis, when the Banks nearly collapsed the global economy? Only people who worked in that system, benefitted from it, because they got bailed out with tax payer money and they received huge bonuses for preventing a collapse for something they created.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Angry
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: June 25, 2024, 06:30:24 AM
I see a lot of new traders entering the scene and learning all the "buzzwords" and then think that knowing the talk of the trade will make them successful. 🙄

There are a lot of hurdles to pass, before you can rate yourself as a succesfull trader and beating your own ego are one of the most important aspects.

The second thing are "beating your fear"... a lot of people know how to trade, but fear are holding them back.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand to Legalize Gambling To combat Illegal gambling or.... on: June 25, 2024, 06:19:20 AM
Well, regulating gambling.. bring other advantages too, because regulations can help to reduce gambling addiction. A regulated casino cannot just operate without implementing some kind of responsible gambling counter measures.

This might come in the form of mandatory self-exclusion requirements for people with gambling problems and also built in software detection to detect excesive gambling and early detection of players with gambling problems.
8  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Stake F1 Team on: June 25, 2024, 06:10:45 AM
Does that also include the diamond level? if they are old players then they are free to deposit money or withdraw any amount of money if the system is like that, right?
A user need to wager at least $25 million to reach the Diamond VIP rank. Which is a very big amount. It will take ages for a medium budget gambler (whose bankroll and max withdrawal remains below $10k) to wager that amount. A diamond level user will obviously have deposits and withdrawals above $10k. It is common for a licensed casino to apply the KYC verification rules to those users who have such deposits and withdrawal activity.

Well, you will have to spend almost $250 000 of your own money to achieve a $25 000 000 wager requirement ($10 for every $1000 wagered) ... it is obviously a bit less, because you get rakeback and bonuses too.

In the end, it will not be worth it to wager that much, just to "unlock" that.

Well, if people stop running full nodes, then the experiment will fail.... and it's success is also dependant on people using it.

We know that the Block reward are Halved and that it will not be enough to incentivize miners to continue mining in the coming years, so Miners fees will be very important in the future and that is why transactions on the Blockchain are so important, because it generates Miners fees.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on political events on: June 24, 2024, 06:24:34 AM
This might be a great idea, if it was not for the predictability of the outcome of these events.

In most countries, elections are dominated by dictators or corrupt politicians, so you know the outcome of the elections, before it will happen.

What will happen, when no political party gets the majority vote and coalition governments must be formed to govern the country? (Like what happened in South Africa in the last election?)
12  Economy / Gambling / Re: NEW: StakeDropXS & StakeReloadXS - Bypass Captcha Completely on: June 24, 2024, 06:14:20 AM
Well, this explains why most drops are claimed within seconds of it's release. I always said these drops are claimed by bots and scripts and it is impossible to beat them as a human.

It will not even help to increase the wagering requirement, because these people are getting all the drops and reload
s, so they can fund the wagering requirements with that.  Angry

One way to stop this, might be to give "audio" or visual clues for these drops or to break up the words.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: The government cares for no one but waits for you to get rich for taxes paying. on: June 24, 2024, 05:46:34 AM
It is not really a situation where the government is waiting for people to become rich, before they are taxed.. they simply tax rich people more to help them to pay their salaries and also to help them to pay for services that they need to render to the community.

Who will fund these services, if the rich are not helping to pay for these services?
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Bet on: June 24, 2024, 05:38:27 AM
I will not gamble my future on a technology that might be replaced by something else in 30 to 40 years from now.

That is not to say that I will not use Bitcoin to accumelate more wealth, while it is still a hot topic and a technology that are trending.

Any form of saving that beats inflation are good and Bitcoin has out performed inflation for many years.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the role of home/away matches? on: June 07, 2024, 06:25:40 AM
Well home games can be to your advantage, but there are a lot of other factors that might come into play. Let's take rugby players as an example.... when they play away from their home, they tend to concentrate more on the game, because they do not have the distraction of their family being close to them. (Some coaches do not allow the team to sleep at home before matches, because it negatively influence their aggression levels and concentration)

You also need to take in consideration that home games might not draw in the supporters, because the team might have had a losing streak during their away games and they might stay away to punish them or the weather might be bad and the supporters might not come to the game.

The players feed off the energy of the home supporters and if they are not there or if there are not a lot of them, then they have very little advantage over the other team.  Roll Eyes
16  Economy / Gambling / Re: How high is the probability of accusations vs. casinos in BitcoinTalk are true? on: June 07, 2024, 06:14:41 AM
The reason for this is simple....

These people are using a throwaway Alt account, because they want to try to stay anonymous. If you use a older account, people can social engineer the previous posts you made to find out a lot more about you.... "Newbie" accounts does not provide that post history.

They might also be someone that are shitposting their competitors to discredit them, because trust is a big deal when it comes to casinos. There are also just some people that are trolling the forum for their own silly pleasures, so I do not take these posts very seriously.  Tongue

Also, let's not forget about the butthurt gamblers out there that lost a lot of money gambling and then trying to lash out against the casino to feed their own agenda.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump accepts Lightning Network for donation of his campaign in Bitcoin on: June 07, 2024, 06:00:20 AM
They say a rat will eat his own kids and I believe any politician will do the same. During that past elections many of the politicians made huge promises when they got near to the election and some of them were supporting Trump, but when he was elected... they faded away into the shadows and Trump made all the calls.  Roll Eyes

These people will use any technology to get their hands on "money"... so do not expect them to support it, once they get into positions of power. They will use this technology and spit it out, once they reached their goals.... and it does not matter to them, where it came from.  Cheesy
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you pay for car repairs with Bitcoin? Why not :) on: June 06, 2024, 06:43:42 AM
We have a local tyre repair & fitment centre that also tried this, because they wanted to test if Bitcoin payments were viable and if people would use it.

I was one of their first customers that paid with Bitcoin and it took ages to confirm. I suggested to them to use the Bitcoin Lightning Network, but it was still in it's early stages of implementation... so not a lot of people used it, after they implemented that.

In the end they used third party Payment processors to get people to pay with Bitcoin, which is not the correct way to implement "Bitcoin" payments.  Roll Eyes
19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Comprehensive SHA256 implementer's guide on: May 30, 2024, 06:40:25 AM
Can you also do a short explanation on why Satoshi might have decided not to use a stronger algorithm?

Some say, it would have been too slow or it would have bloated the Blockchain. (MD5 or SHA-1or SHA-2 or even SHA-512)

20  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 30, 2024, 06:21:31 AM
It all depends what percentage of your control, you are willing to relinquish. The loan from a Bank will not give them any say in your day-to-day operations, because they are only interrested in the loan repayment at the end of the month.

When you get investors to invest money into your business, they want a share in the day-to-day operations and if they have a controlling percentage of the "shares" they can execute a hostile takeover of your business, when you become succesful or they can sabotage your decisions with their own agendas.
