Whoever thinks so wit d way wey things dey go for d country dey lie to himself. It breaks my heart anytime wey I see cattle enta people farms to destroy crops and dis is more often dis day. How persin wan take achieve food security wen dat type of thing is on d increase? Again, bandits dey go kidnapp farmers for dem farms. How people go take dey encouraged to go farm. Dis govment just dey play politics wit anything wey dem see and nor send d citizens. It's a shame.

You may be right, although I don't think I would waste my time constantly seeing an empty wallet. After all, this is exactly how we see today’s bounty hunters.
I also had a fair share of their severe beating of projects not leaving up to expectation after bounties ended and BM compromising their stance because of what they stood to lose if they called out projects that reneged on their promises. It was a messy situation then, and it's still now.

Quote
In addition, I met wonderful people who opened my eyes to the whole nature of this useless bounty activity and were good teachers, so much so that they were able to change my thinking. Smiley
Yes, you can say that again. This place is as much a learning place as an earning place. I place the first – learning, a priority. We only earn making posts here but we stand a better chance of using whatever knowledge we've learnt to earn anywhere there's an opportunity, inclusive of here. Being here is a win–win. The knowledge, comradeship and earnings, all rolled into one.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits from the forum. on: May 31, 2024, 02:28:27 PM
I remembered myself when I accidentally found this forum. I admit, the first thing for me was the bounty. I wondered how I could have missed this as a daily internet surfer.
I bet if you had remained with that mindset and didn't rediscover to realize (how motivational speakers would put them words) that purpose to learn, you still would've remained a newbie; no doubt, both in rank and knowledge of the true essence of what this industry is all about 😏

Quote
The benefit of the forum is that we get used to reading and accepting something new. Discover new technologies, new knowledge, new experiences, and, what is important for me, new people, by reading whom you have the opportunity to change yourself.
I had zero knowledge of what this industry was before stumbling on this forum. Curiosity to know drove me to this forum. No one pointed me here but those nagging questions about Bitcoin eating me up and my passion to level up with the moment. I didn't want to look lost around discussions on cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin which was the darling of this industry at the time. Maybe, still now.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are the smart ones, be careful. on: May 31, 2024, 12:56:57 PM
This is an old tricks and I thought people have grown past this level.
I was like, "Do people still fall for such old trick" too when I read the OP. The first time I saw something like that on telegram was around 2020/2021 (I can't be sure anymore). I was almost thrown into a panic for the person's sake, believing they were genuinely seeking help and had inadvertently exposed their passphrase. It was not until another user explained it to the rest of us and called the scammer out that I felt relaxed. Again, those who fall for such a scam are greedy too. Only greed will make someone want to reap where they didn't sow. It's the same way people try to claim NFTs they find in their wallets but they didn't do anything to earn them. They think it's that easy to throw money (coins) around. It's certainly not. Scammers know this and that's why they cash in on the greed of people to hit them.
10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin legendary or first class graduate on: May 30, 2024, 04:38:46 PM
Many people just go to school to make sure they gain that name #Graduate. But what can that name do for you can that name put food on your table can that name fetch you the money you want if you see the world today people toping the list of richest men and women are business men and women entrepreneurs...
I understand where you dey go wit your submission and na fact you state so. However, make we too realize sey everything nor be about money money. E get where education go carry you enta (not events oh) wey money nor go smell. I once met and had a conversation with a billionaire in d line of my duty a decade or so ago wey nor fit talk well (you understand what I meant there). D man later opened up to me sey im dey avoid media presence because of dat, sey na im children dey do all dat. I pitied him.

Again, make we even look at d nature of owa school curricula. Shey wetin we get now fit equip anybody outside dis country? Last week, I watched a documentary or so of some Chinese kids wey dey less than eight years doing stunts wey graduates for naija dey do during NYSC. Those kids were doing d same thing wey adults Nigerians dey go service to do afta 4 to 6 years of tertiary learning. Shame catch me.

Reason wey make education good be sey without am, e go hard to read and write. If you think sey I lie, meet old people for ur area/village and you go see how dem dey admire those wey go school because of dat ability. On d whole, paper certification nor promise anyone any money na we just dey hype am. To make money, get into business or get a skill. You stand a betta chance dat way than through basic paper education.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance launches Notcoin (NOT) on launchpool. on: May 27, 2024, 06:05:53 AM

the current staking campaign probably just to hold off selling pressure from the people.
as already reflected from the market people are dumping the coin the staking program will at least reduce that effect to some extent but never a long term solution eventually the selling pressure gonna be even bigger since staking means there's more money to be in the circulation.
From my observation, Notcoin doesn't even seem to care if people want to stake or not. The team knows it has strong backers and it's doing all it can to match the selling pressure from airdroppers. If we look closely at what's happening, we will see how price has been rallying up whenever it goes down. By the way I never expected price would still be this high, honestly; knowing that so much was given out for free to hunters.

Quote
but for people who are abundant in capital its good opportunity, but honestly staking not coin never sit right with me with the volatility and all.
I sold off a few minutes it was released around $0.01+ and then bought back at dip, slightly below $0.005 and took some profit. So, whatever happens to that project I'm covered. However, I'm of the opinion that the project will do well. This isn't a financial advice, anyway. It's just my thought.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance launches Notcoin (NOT) on launchpool. on: May 24, 2024, 01:49:49 PM
Notcoin is presenting another around of opportunity to the public and maybe for those who missed its first loud entry into this industry. I know so many will rush into it. But this isn't the usual Tap2Earn stuff. It's stake to earn. I guess this opportunity to stake is available to those who didn't withdraw their mined tokens out of the Notcoin telegram bot to any exchange during the last round. However, those who did or those who wish to join new are also welcomed. Only that they will have to do some task on the bot to earn and then stake. I guess the Ton chain has enough money to take more people in. For those who are scared that Notcoin is a dump and won't rise in price because of its current price, they will be shocked soon. I think this round started yesterday or so.
14  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Airdrop tel buy bitcon on: May 21, 2024, 05:47:00 PM
Also remember the risk wey dey Airdrop, use separate wallet for Airdrop, observe well before you do anyone bcos some na waste of time.
Na d koko be dat. I don mention dis same thing about using different wallets/burner for airdrops. Creating wallets nor dey take pass 3 to 5 minutes. So, make we nor go dey think sey e dey take time. Again, make we dey always make sure to back owa wallet apps and write out owa seedphrases somewhere safe.

About d airdrop thing, ICE fall many people hands, including me. Na just NOT wey bring back owa morale by making us smile to d bank. We nor know which other ones go pay us, not even Tapswap. Airdrop na game of chance. NOTcoin pay me too.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi Network Token is to be listed in Binance Soon. on: May 21, 2024, 02:06:40 AM
if anyone should announce it, it should be binance...
Exactly my observation too with the announcement and wrong spelling of Network. If there was anything I learnt in 2017/18 in this space, it should be what Binance said then that it would always be the first to announce any project it's listing on its site before even a project would do. It went further to state that once a project wasn't announced on its Binance site, it was a scam. That was why when I heard about Notcoin listing on Binance, I quickly went to check on Binance site. It was on its notification. I encourage everyone to disregard the Pi announcement. It's false. BTW, did anyone even notice the said listing price 😂
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season, will it come next months? on: May 21, 2024, 01:53:13 AM
If you see the graphics above is insightful and contains fact in this market, Bitcoin and Ethereum already shown their roles and next months will be for an altcoin season.
Don't be quick to forget that Ethereum is also an altcoin. So, when referring to altcoin season; ETH is also included. By the way, I don't understand what you actually meant by ETH outperforming Bitcoin when we know that Bitcoin dominance of the market is still above 51% while ETH has 16%. There's still a huge gap.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How you trade in uncertain times? on: May 20, 2024, 07:07:08 PM
So, what strategies can you advise especially in protecting our capital, some technical analysis strategies? OR some diversification tactics between stablecoins, bitcoin, or altcoins?

Share some of your experiences or tips on effectively trading in these uncertain times.
The market isn't a perfect place for assurance. That's why speculation is the order of the day in this industry. If the market is very volatile and I don't know what bias (direction) to follow, I steer clear off the market. I don't like trying to dictate to the market what to do because I feel compulsion towards a particular direction. No! That's a wrong move. Besides, there's no point being in the market when one doesn't have any business doing so. No one has to constantly be in the market because one wants to wear that "I'm a trader" tag. What matters in trading is the profit one makes and not the number of times one trades.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeing is no longer believing on: May 20, 2024, 05:33:10 AM
If you are curious, find the projects telegram group and ask questions, and post screenshots on the group, I am positive that people will stop you from getting scammed, they will be exposed to you that you are about to get scammed, sadly we have gotten to this stage only to end up having more confusing tools for scammers, all we can do is warn each other of the threats that lurk
This is the first thing to do, and that's what I've been doing. It clears every doubt. We've all been victims one way or the other on various projects and we learnt from such experiences. I still won't blame the victim in your narrative. Scammers are very smart and they put in hardwork into their craft. Most of these scammers are developers and project members and they know the loopholes and how to make shortcuts around them.

For me, a few private sales I've been involved in were from insiders in the projects. I made so much mistakes in the past during the ICO days of 2017/18 that I lost interest in anything private sales. I'm building the interest again but it must be through reputable people I know who are insiders before I invest in any project this day. Sometimes we want to lose our guards in private sales because of the mouth watering ROI and then throw caution to the wind and not be guarded by our investment principles. We shouldn't do that. We ought to stick to whatever scrutiny parameters we use.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Renzo Airdrop on: May 19, 2024, 04:44:12 PM

I don't actually like to participate in such an annoying project trying to make claiming difficult for participatants.
The annoying part of it is when projects would allow people mine for several months without telling them ab initio what chain they would list on. If from the beginning I know a project is listing on something like ETH, I always avoid that no matter how promising it's.

The success of a cryptocurrency project depends on so many factors.
The major factor to the best of my knowledge is community. If a project has a strong community backing it, it hardly fails. That's what we've with Bitcoin. We find that too with Dogecoin, XRP, Shib, and even the latest one – Notcoin. Community will hype any project and more cash will flow in that direction as investment. Such action will strengthen the project the more.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still to Invest into meme coins? on: May 19, 2024, 04:04:58 PM
One of the main indicators that a memecoin is likely to fail to gain traction is if the 'memecoin' tries to do things and take things seriously rather than solely just be what a memecoin should be — a meme.
We've seen memes that metamorphosed into coins/tokens with utilities and have projects built on them long after they already listed on the market. There are many of them. Dogecoin and Shiba Inu are classical examples of this.

However, and notably too, the best way to profit from memes is to get in quick. Otherwise, whether a meme is a serious project or not, one can still not make money from it.
