361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: January 28, 2024, 11:51:55 PM
Also, I have a small number of threads that have no merit (that's my main fear). I even stopped commenting on some posts, thinking I might be wrong in my knowledge, even though I was right.
You don't have to rush yourself into a wrong assumption on that. That posts don't get merited doesn't mean they aren't constructive enough. It's simply can be any of these – that those who are likely to find them meaningful and helpful may not have come across them or that they actually have come across them but lack merit to splash or them or they actually have merit to splash but forgot to do the needful after reading. For me, I've continued to maintain that even meriting posts  is a subjective thing. What Mr A thinks is a good post may seem a bad post to Mr B.

Concerning whether to comment on threads where high ranked users post, I think you've received enough advice encouraging you not to be scared posting there. I need say no more on that.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's in Store for Crypto in the Coming Months? on: January 28, 2024, 05:02:47 PM
Since the etf was approved all eyes are going to be on the halving. Usually a few months after the halving there is a huge pump and breaks ath. Most are expecting the same cycle here.
Yeah, you can say that again. I'm one of those who expect the same circle to repeat itself and then something huge to come out of it. I know if this circle works out as predicted and enormous ROI is achieved, the next halving will have so many enthusiasts on the queue waiting to take their shots by investing heavily.

For the coming months, those who already haven't taken positions and bought their favourite coins will be the losers for it. Anyone who's still waiting for a dump so they can get in may end up chasing the bus. Don't wait for a perfect entry. There's nothing as such. We only get to find out of perfect entry long after price has left the region.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Hidden Gems! on: January 28, 2024, 02:51:16 PM
Could anyone point me in the right direction or share some insights on where to find promising projects or assets worth considering for a market buy?
Your rank is newbie with just a single post here but I don't know if you're a true novice in this industry or not. The reason I asked is because there are investment suggestions that can better suit a noob investor than an experienced or intermediate one. If you're new to this industry and know next to nothing, I will suggest you stick to Bitcoin investment. On the other hand, if you've been investing before now I suggest you look into BRC20 tokens. There's speculation that they will be a thing this bull run, owing to what price level we expect of Bitcoin. There's strong expectation that money will flow into them. Already, certain exchanges are experimenting with them. To get these tokens, check Coingecko. Check for ones with small supply that have low marketcap. You never can tell, you may get lucky. However, remember, this isn't a financial advice. Do Your Own Research (DYOR).
364  Other / Meta / Re: [SAD] activity on: January 28, 2024, 04:51:39 AM
Yeah, we all know that feeling of ranking up. You've done what's within your powers to do and that's being active, posting. Activity upgrade depends on the forum bot and there's nothing you can do than wait it out. It's better what's holding you isn't merit count, otherwise you will understand the true meaning of patience 😏. Now, relax. Two weeks is just around the corner. Congrats in advance!
365  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 28, 2024, 04:13:56 AM
The most abusive forum members as I have noticed are the legendary members. I noticed it in their replies to posts or contributions to posts.
Hehehehehe... 😂

You should've been here pre-2020 to observe what abusive comments were during the days of Lauda and other supremos. As a newbie you would've felt unworthy with any acerbic response of those ilks on your posts. It wasn't funny. What we've now is mild use of language when compared to that era. Their acerbic responses weren't unleashed on newbies alone. You could see such mudslinging among the legendary users too. Again, rude behaviour knows no class, age, clan etc. It cuts across. It's not a legendary thing alone that people here decide to be overtly imposing in their interactions with others. The only reason newbies don't display such supposed rudeness is because they fear high ranked members might gang up against them. They wait until they rank up to retaliate and the circle continues.

I do not totally blame them, this is because they have been here for so long. They therefore possess the ability to identify or differentiate a genuine newbie from an idiot. They have long ran out of patience and would immediately kick anyone trying to disrupt the ecosystem.
You've a strong point there!
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast can one achieve Crypto millionaire status with meme coin? on: January 27, 2024, 05:15:27 PM
I read an analysis of Shiba Inu (SHIB) coin, which was launched in 2020. It was clear that purchasing $11.87 worth of SHIB at that time, an investor could have become a millionaire only one year and three months later because of its significant price increase. I need your opinion here, how fast can one achieve a millionaire status with meme coin?
The thing with Memes is that there's always that element of not knowing when it will cast and disappear with the wind. Otherwise, memes are a sure way of flipping small capital. The $11.8 investment in Shib that turned millions is achievable but that will be with those who got in early and refused to sell off too early. I'm not sure there are those who kept that long, except they momentarily forgot they once bought and then had to quickly rush to sell off.

In 2021 when memes got on the trend, there was a memetoken (Moonrat or Safemoon, I can't remember again) that I invested less than $100 that turned >$5,000 but greed set in and I was hoping it would hit at least $10k. But of course, we know how these things end. I lost a better part of that profit before I sold off in regret and moved on. I learned a valuable lesson from that.
367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it's wrong to save vital information on your phone. on: January 27, 2024, 02:48:06 PM
In addition, do not forget about such phone functions as T9. If you save or print your seed phrase, T9 will remember this, and if one day your phone is hacked, then T9 will be a good helper for scammers. Also, do not forget that many applications have functions to track all your activities, even when we do not know and think that the applications are harmless.
Frankly, we aren't safe anymore. We invented stuff that are beginning to scare us now. All these appliances and gadgets are something else. The little we think we've done on the internet is even the much we've got ourselves exposed. That's why I smile whenever I come across didactic posts on data privacy and how not to use one's data online. Those who say that are quick to forget that they've some of those data of theirs with their banks, licensing offices, work places, just name them. If we've exposed our data in such places, what makes us think they can't be compromised or sold to the dark web? This is really scary.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the possibility of discovering a memecoin that could change your life? on: January 27, 2024, 11:18:33 AM
Honestly, I did make some money trading those, but not the life-changing fortune I aspire to.
If you, indeed, admitted that you made some gains trading those memes; then you could still have made a fortune out of them if you had increased your capital in them. Ask those you think made life-changing fortune from such investments and you will be shocked the jaw dropping capital they risked on such aggressive investments. Yes, any investment in memes is high risk and should be marked as sushi. It's either you profit from it or you're consumed byb others. I believe anyone going into meme investments should be armed with this warning.

I heard X (previously Twitter) is down more than 50% from the price he bought it so I'm of the opinion that Elon Musk ia trying to get recoup some of his losses and it's as if he would goto any lengths as long as that goal is accomplished.
That approach will be his fastest way of destroying X. Already, so many people are angered by what X has become with its administration allowing scammers run amok there. It's getting scarier each passing day. It's advisable not to follow any comment apart from first (main) tweets made by any project you're following. Using any details from the comments section, in most cases, gets one on a phisher handle. Anyone can crosscheck this and you will discover what I'm saying. Gosh!

A while back, he used to be very vocal about things like this but he hasn't been in recent times.
It's because he has swallowed his tongue. He can't speak against what he's indirectly/directly enabling.

The only reason why everyone is still using X without complaints is that no other platform comes close.
You just nailed it there!
370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The harvest (Proof urself worthy to earn). on: January 26, 2024, 05:25:13 PM
The harvest is the benefit (merit).
Let the lack of merit on your posts not dissuade you from enjoying your stay here. Just remain focused and at its due time the merit will pour in. Merit shouldn't be the focus here. It wasn't even a thing until in 2018 when it was introduced. Let the free learning you get here be the enticer for you to keep visiting. You will be the better for it on the long run if you remain active here.

when I started discussing my activities and involvement in the forum to some people around me about it, the next question is," how much have u earned", I was absolutely discourage as I remained mute till date.
Let none of your friends or anyone harass you about your finances. People are fond of doing that even when it's obvious that those who are trying to help them are better off than they're. They will still ask that question about what one has gained financially getting into an online stuff. I encountered that too while starting out in this industry. I did a lot of explanation. This day, I don't even bother with a response.
371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Patience is power on: January 26, 2024, 02:35:43 PM
Even the most difficult dangers can be saved through patience.
Well, that will depend on the type of danger you're referring to there. As youngsters we were told that when we dilly-dallied on things, they could've dire consequences. As an adult, I've grown knowing that to be true. Exercising patience or being patient doesn't cut across all walks of life. There are areas where that will become a disadvantage. It's just like telling someone that one's a risk taker. Yes, it's good to be a risk taker but there are certain risks that will seem tomfoolery when taken. That also has to be put in context like the patience thing.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Notcoin on: January 26, 2024, 11:56:59 AM
It's possible that you are referring to a different notcoin. Could you clarify which notcoin you are talking about? It would be better if you could provide links and ensure that your thread contains complete information.
But of course, OP isn't saying the truth. Possibly they're referring to a different project that isn't the Notcoin (tapper app mining stuff) you're referring to as that one hasn't been distributed yet. I'm also familiar with this "tap to earn" app. I guess OP just wants referrals, nothing more. Otherwise, there's no way they can give out what hasn't been distributed except OP wants to tell us they're a part of the team or they own the project. I urge people here to be careful clicking on links.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SatoshiVM team allegation/ potential selling team tokens on: January 26, 2024, 10:00:59 AM
SAVM surprised many (including me) with its price spike within a short period of its listing. It's back to around its original listing price now. Before now, there were several X (Twitter) handles that imitated its original handle. I first heard of this token in one of the telegram groups I belong and the hype was something else. BTW, I don't know why scammers are populating X this day since the Yellow and Blue ticks became a thing. Is Elon Musk simply not interested in checkmating the activities of scammers but only concerns himself with what revenue he gets from the ticks? He seems to be allowing scammers run free on the bird app and this has to stop.

I'm not talking of the supposed scam of SAVM, I'm all about the general scam that happens and is allowed to go on with fake X accounts coming up and imitating original and genuine projects. Taking those accounts down and banning them seems to be delayed by X administration since Elon bought it over. Unlike what speed that was done in the past. Has anyone observed that too?

That's right, it will be very troublesome for me Sad. Payment once a month or once every two weeks would be a reasonable solution, or payment in USDT trc20.
It doesn't seem likely that BestChange wants to move out of Bitcoin payment. At least, that's what I was given to understand the last time this issue was raised. However, bi-weekly payment in Bitcoin can suffice at this time.

Again, for anyone suggesting monthly payment; kindly remember the fluctuations in price that's inevitable.
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has never pass ATH before halving but it has always dip don't panic. on: January 23, 2024, 05:04:22 PM
There are more revealing materials and reassuring insights now than there were eight years ago. Yes, newbies will panic because of the ongoing dip; especially after the ETF was approved but price doesn't seem to be rallying up. Some of us understand this game whales play around such expectations of price increase after a positive development in favour of Bitcoin. They dump to rebuy. No one should panic. It's just momentary. If anything, this should afford investors an opportunity to get more of their favourite coins that have taken a beating.
376  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some campaign members posting essay? on: January 23, 2024, 03:26:33 PM
~
...they are mostly done to qualify for the signature campaign. campaign managers mostly count long posts. because they look high quality.
Campaign managers who rely on long posts to pick campaign participants are like managers who look at earned merit of users in making their picks. If someone writes a long (and expectedly, boring) post on page one, there's a chance that it gets read unlike when that same post is on page 10 or on a mega thread. These are some of the little things that should mean something. Most times, these lengthy posts don't make much sense like the two-three liners and they get passed over more. What's the essence of making posts others don't bother to read?
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges 2023 annual report by TokenInsight on: January 23, 2024, 02:18:29 PM
Do you think ORCA can also maintain its position in the DEX world?
It's my first time reading about ORCA. I looked it up upon stumbling on it here. However, I don't think I will be interested using it though it's marked a Dex. I'm skeptical using any exchange that doesn't display a Trust Score. ORCA isn't rated and there's no trust score for it on the site. That's a turn off for me already.

Well compared to Binance thats not a match at all. Probably the closest is OKX and Kucoin.
OKX seems to be the new kid (sensation) on the block. Some of those mine-to-earn app projects are listing there. Avive listed there in December. A few days ago, Ice also did. Though there's an ongoing issue between Ice and OKX on the ground of how Ice trading was conducted there first day. Kucoin is a copy of Binance. Apart from the difference in font colour and all that, one would think both are the same platform.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Rebound This Week on: January 23, 2024, 01:07:37 PM
I don't have the data, but I assume the selling pressure is going to come from Grayscale once again. They've unloaded a good amount, and we don't have an idea how much more they need to dump because of their holders dumping GBTC.

I wouldn't short though. Just too much uncertainty.
Grayscale, likely will have a game plan of buying back the dip. It can't be that shortsighted not to buy back, seeing and knowing that we're about entering the moment everyone is waiting for – the bull season. Those I pity are the panic sellers who're selling off because they find price dipping and may not know why it's so. Some of them might've been hodling since last year but are now afraid to keep hodling. Just like you too, I'm too uninterested shorting it. I don't want to risk it.
379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not use more than 2x leverage on: January 23, 2024, 12:08:22 PM
Don't use >2x leverage. Just don't.

It is one of the things he listed as a financial advice. As a trader, what do you think about it?
I think it's a wrong advice, coming from him. It casts a shadow of fear on traders who trade using leverage. 2x isn't that high if one knew what one's doing, trading. It's very infinitesimal. Instead of trading on <2x while not completely go off it and do Spot trading. People don't become rich or make a sustainable earning from trading using that. Fear kills the morale of traders the same way greed does. Every traders should know how to kill both. For me, 5X till 10X is ok. Otherwise, the trader should stick to Spot trading.
380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here on: January 23, 2024, 11:35:59 AM
I just created this account not quite long, I've read Most of the posts but I still get confused in some aspect of the forum, I'll be glade if I can get help from anyone from this forum🙏
In addition to what others have posted here, I think you will do better in understanding and unravelling your little confusion of the forum if you located your local board. As someone who isn't a native speaker of the English language, that will surely help.

You are welcome, most of us at your stage faced the same thing. At the newbie level we don't even know we're to post and comment, we even asked the forum the boards to post and the ones not to post and they told us everything.
To be frank, I think this forum isn't that difficult to navigate compared to other crypto fora I've visited. The major issue here is that there's so much information and topics springing up and screaming in our faces on a daily and we think we're compelled to process all. That's in addition to not knowing the right board to start  topics. The last one was my greatest confusion as a noob. Even till date I still find high ranked users get confused around that too and that's where they ask moderators to move to appropriate boards.
