OP, if you can mispel what ought to have been the most critical part you should've paid attention to – Your topic title, "Re: Bitcointalk rules and gudie for newbies", it says much about your lack of desire to pay attention to things and scrutinize what's on ground. Even if you aren't a native speaker of the language, nothing says it's a crime checking out spellings.

I am not even sure that OP will come back to read these answers given him.
That's often the modus operandi of this set of users. They open threads and disappear without engaging in them.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it letting the bank know that you are a BTC Investor? on: February 20, 2024, 05:33:18 PM
As for Bitcoin, I wouldn't mention it to banks! I have heard that some banks in certain countries have had a history of restricting people's accounts just because they were trading bitcoin, sending money to exchanges, and stuff like that. It is not legal for the bank to do that either, and yet they did it anyway. So it's best they don't know.
That also happened in Nigeria. A few traders who felt relaxed writing/inputting crypto terms in their descriptions while transacting were caught in that restriction and their bank accounts frozen in the wake of that ban. It was a hurt most of those affected won't forget in a hurry. The ban was later relaxed and those whose accounts were frozen were also released. That was several months later. Anyone can imagine what it was like having cash in the bank but not being able to assess it. It was that horrible.

Anyway, I think that situation cuts across because some of the Cexs I'm dealing on also warn those transacting on their P2P not to include any crypto related word in their description when marking payments.

For me, it's a bad idea letting bank know one is into Bitcoin. You never can tell what government policies they may want to exhume next.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need more influencial women in crypto to help the gender embrace it? on: February 20, 2024, 04:00:03 PM
Do you think there are more influencial women in crypto, this will help to encourage more women into adopting cryptocurrency? Perhaps there are some which are doing really great but we haven't got to hear their names.
Definitely, there will be but they may not like the type of publicity men get for themselves and may decide to lie low. Women aren't built to withstand pressure and pressure from crowd is like a mob action. Exposing oneself to the public as a crypto hodler comes with its own kind of pressure and danger. It may be very difficult for women to go through all that.

I have a female friend who is active in several airdrop groups, and people there call her "sir", "bro", "man" even though she is clearly wearing a profile photo of her own face.

Lol I have a theory about this.

So I used to refer people I've met on crypto online communities as he/him by default aka assumed they were dudes lol. It's possible a lot of folks have the same way of thinking.
If I'm unsure of the person's sex, I refer to them as "they". That cuts across my posts here. Some people don't like it when you misappropriate their gender while others don't give it a second thought. They see it as nothing. On the picture thing on the profile, many would think a dude is making use of his wife's or gf's picture on their profile there.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No essence in convincing anyone into Bitcoin ind. nor the Bitcointalk platform on: February 20, 2024, 02:29:40 PM
This might just sound uninteresting but it is pointing at those who are in competitive manners of brining in persons into the forum without being properly oriented. Most of the persons brought into this forum never had the passion being here in the first place but some of us ignores how substantial their contributions and what their unwilling potentials to the forum would result to. To an extend, these unworthy persons being convinced in the forum leaves their forum accounts vacant flooding the forums with domant users accounts.
You may be right about those who easily abandon their accounts upon registration here and after posting for a while, you may also be wrong about them because you never can tell what circumstances they're faced with. Life happens to everyone of us. Some might come here with the mindset of learning but get derailed by the vicissitudes of life that may force them to abandon their accounts here. We never can tell until we know their issues. However, quite a good number of the cases shows that most of them run off when they find out they can't earn merit to rank up and get into campaigns. It's sad they don't the patience to wait and go through the process.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 20, 2024, 01:49:45 PM
We should start asking ourselves question like, how far have we gone in our Bitcoin accumulating process?  If the bull run comes this week, how much can we milk out from our current holdings? if we had any.

For procrastinators, It's high time you all start accumulating Bitcoin aggressively through the DCA method, so that you wouldn't be left out from such an amazing opportunity.
We can't stop hammering on this, and the reason is so that newbies will get the consciousness of buying and hodling now instead of waiting to chase price on FOMO when the real momentum picks for Bitcoin. In reality, many who are reading this thread will still fall victim of not buying on time.

Anyone who invested in early 2024 or late 2023 will stand to profit from this incoming Bitcoin rally. That's what I'm also aiming for, of course.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 20, 2024, 01:01:41 PM
Did the Bitcoin flight already leave investors? or is there still time to buy a ticket?
It doesn't cease to amaze me whenever I hear people ask that same question, "is there still time to buy?" I don't know why they still ask that when they know the current Bitcoin ATH stands at >$69k and every bull run is known to surpass the one before it. So, knowing that, you've to brace yourself up to get in now (even at above $52k) as we expect this incoming ATH to go way beyond $69k. For me, I expect anything above $120k for the next ATH. Get in now or miss the bus!
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 20, 2024, 12:17:19 PM
I basically stick to idea buy low priced coins like 0.00001$ that have good potencial
so when coins get to 0.01$ its a very good profit of %
That's what's going to happen during the bull run as many people will assume that every low priced coin will skyrocket in price like Bitcoin and they will hastily buy them. That's the good thing about bull run. Almost every worthless token will gain value when that comes. This is when a mere $5 investment in these low priced tokens can turn $150/$250 or even $2k over night. I've seen this happen in the past and I expect it to reoccur this rally.

Your plan is good. Though Bitcoin won't give us the type of ROI alts will give, it's the safest of all. You've guaranteed investment leading to this season.
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why we need to stay vigilant on: February 19, 2024, 08:45:42 PM
~snipped~
I might not actually get your pints straight but one thing I know that scammers will never rest and that's why anyone coming into the cryptocurrency industry should first be conscious of the risk involved and show safety should his paramount obligation and not that of any exchange or third party and I think that's the major reason why it's always advisable to use any thing related to decentralisation while dealing with cryptocurrency.
Risk isn't of cryptocurrency alone. It's with everything man does, though the intensity differs. Remember, whether with decentralization or centraliszation, scam will still happen if one isn't careful or watchful when dealing with others. For me, the greater part of our security lies with us and not with an app. If only people who've their vital crypto wallets loaded with funds and information on their phones will become weary of links they click. It will help them. Those who are less experienced can be deceived into clicking on malware and the end result will be that they get hacked and may not know where what hit them came from.
249  Economy / Economics / Re: Some persons lacks financial sensibilities on: February 19, 2024, 06:56:58 PM
I don't know of the other side of the World, but in this side of the World, men are responsible for every financial responses in both marriage and the boy/girlfriends relationships.
The demands of financial expenses is being too much at the men sides.
Who made it that way and what society is that, if I may ask? Culture is made for the benefit of mankind and as such any culture that becomes antagonistic should be stopped. Yes, stopped. I believe there are enough exposed and learned folks in your society, they should see the need to weigh in and reveal that obnoxious part of your culture. Women are supposed to be helpmate and partners in progress, especially when in a relationship or married.

On the other side of the $50 story, I think your friend wasn't emotionally commited to his relationship. How else wouldn't he have had an idea what's top priority on his girl's worries rather than giving her that cash because he wasn't sure. Anyway, I don't even know what those who celebrate Valentine's Day benefit from that. I don't see any need for it because love is supposed to be an everyday thing, not a once in a year thing.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: February 19, 2024, 05:53:48 PM
In some certain countries saving money in that country may cause you more harm because the value of the currency maybe depreciating everyday the money you are serving in the bank might continue to depreciate and they cannot afford something in future again for you depending the time you stuck your money in the bank so what I'm saying in essence is that instead of you to bank your money it is good or better for you to invest it into something else that will be giving you daily weekly and monthly return, so is better for we to ensure that we diversify our money to different business or investment that will give us return instead of keeping our money in a bank, it is obvious the bankers trade with our money without our permission.
Your comment hit close home. I feel you on that one. My suggestion to people in countries like that is for them to save their local currency in dollar or any other they know is relatively stronger than theirs (that's if they can) or save in stablecoin if they've knowledge of cryptos. That's the way to go about it. Then only convert to local currency and use when the need arises or exchange the dollar/coin directly for goods and services. Without this, the person trying to save in their local fiat will continue to be at a great loss.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pepe coin. on: February 19, 2024, 04:24:58 PM
How do you think?  Pepe coin was created by Mark Zuckerberg to destroy the dog in a few years or is it not true?
With all the millions he has, why would Mark Zuckerberg stoop that low to create a shitcoin,
You called it stooping low but businessmen and women don't see it that way. They see it as business and look at what profit they can cash out from such. We can't say reputable projects and chains creating memetokens like Solana chain and rest of them are stooping low.

You might want to read about Libra coins (now named as Diem) and how everything did not work as planned. Google is your friend  Wink
What a year that was with all the expectations of Libra doing extremely well since Zuckerberg was a popular face and would use his Meta to promote it to any level. It's disappointing how that never came to be.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes altcoin season? on: February 19, 2024, 03:50:58 PM
It is a general believe in the cryptocurrency community that Bitcoin bull season is usually followed by altcoins season. I don't know the logic behind it hence the reason for this post.
The logic is simple. There's that expectation that investors who want to keep the profit made in cryptos from Bitcoin rally will look for viable altcoins to ploy them into. Once that begins to happen, the ignorant public catches on with the various buy orders and FOMO in. That's how the build up starts. Many more people throw in their money and price begins to hit the roof.

Quote
The present bull run seems to be dominated by Bitcoin and its already taking too long without corresponding rise in price among the notable altcoins.
The bull run just about in its early stage and you're saying it's taking long already? I don't think so. Wait till after halving and you will see price spike off. Also, know that altcoins don't begin rally until Bitcoin has exhausted it's rally like I explained above.

Quote
So, should we also expect altcoin season following the current bull run? If yes, what are the best altcoins to focus on?
Yes, I believe we're going to have a massive altcoin season this circle. On the altcoins to focus on? Follow the categories with the current narrative and I think it won't be a bad idea to research BRC20 tokens.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: February 19, 2024, 01:52:51 PM
Investing in Altcoins had been what so many invested have been looking at these period. Believing that bitcoin's bull run will surely influence the price of the altcoins and hive them massive gains. Literally if bitcoin rises altcoins follow suit but this is the only reason i see that makes potential investors to invest in Bitcoin. There is no other interest as they feel its unsafe to store value or wealth, cant be used for p2p transactions and it cant be trusted to hodl for long. If you think there is any other reasons that makes investors put their money in altcoins feel free to share. I would love to know.
First off, I think you posted in a hurry without cross-checking your syntax and spellings. However, your position and disposition to this whole investment thing is well understood.

Yes, it's different reasons (strokes) for different folks while they invested or are investing in whatever asset they like. We expect quite alright that whenever Bitcoin has a rally, altcoins follow suit thereafter. Sadly, we didn't experience that in the last Bitcoin move in 2021. Altcoins didn't go on a bull run to the best of my perspicacity. I know we aren't going to miss that rally this circle and that's why the whole industry is excited and gearing up.

Another reason investors put their money into altcoins is the simple logic of quantity. With a little cash they can easily get enough quantities of some alts and they expect that any zero in price that's cancelled already puts them in massive profit. So, the ROI factor is always there. Bitcoin won't give the type of ROI altcoins give within a short period of time.
254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What significant impact is expected of new members of the forum? on: February 19, 2024, 11:35:50 AM
Hello everyone, I'm only newly invited to the forum, and I must say that I've enjoyed every bit of the time I've spent here, especially on the beginners and help board because I was advised that as a beginner that's where I'll learn about things concerning the forum.
Yes, the Beginners section is expectedly where you can learn faster about a subject matter as there are veteran members who are more than willing to share insightful comments on questions newbies like you would ask. By the way, how do new members like yourself even scale through the evil fee now that fees are slightly high. Did you come through whitelist or what? Frankly, I don't envy you folks.

Quote
Also, I'm open to learning and pass knowledge in anyway I can, but I want to know how I can impact the forum, what core values does the bitcoin talk community needs? Or is impacting knowledge here only specific to a certain caliber of people or higher ranking members?
There's little or no expectations from newbies and that's because the assumption is that they're greenhorn. However, that doesn't mean newbies aren't knowledgeable in certain subjects of discussion. No one, inclusive of newbies, is discouraged from impacting the forum if they're knowledgeable in what they're doing.

What I know that's demanded of newbies throughout the forum is for them to read and assimilate before posting. Secondly, newbies should stick to the rules here as breaking any has dire consequences.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 19, 2024, 11:11:09 AM
Hey everyone! I've got $1000 to invest before the next bull market kicks in.
The bull has kicked in already, didn't you know? Except you're referring to when the public will start chasing price.

Quote
Should I spread it across five different coins or go all in on just one? What are your top picks for either strategy?
You can do that but my suggestion will be to do 50% of your capital in Bitcoin and then split the remaining 50% into altcoins. Apart from Bitcoin and ETH that are in the top 10 on the list, I think you should skip that and not be mindful of ranking. Look for freshly listed projects with utility. You can get into IDOs and get into presales if you've experience on how it's done.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? on: February 19, 2024, 07:31:43 AM
The second most popular cryptocurrency coin is ethereum, Ethereum is ranked #2 in the cryptocurrency market place.
If not for it's infinite supply, I'm sure ETH would be topping the charts; given the factors of demand and supply in play. Already at
120,165,512 supply and it's at number two on coin list and currently sitting at close to $3k per coin. That's a huge achievement for me

Quote
... because they say that when Bitcoin is 100k then Ethereum price will reach 10k.
Nobody can tell you for sure where price will get to and from what level it begins to revert. Bitcoin can get to $100k (certainly) and ETH may still be below or around $6k. No one knows this. We can only speculate. However, on the whole, it's not just with ETH alone. It cuts across all alts. We expect a bull run for the entire industry once Bitcoin is done with its run.

Quote
What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? You can share if you want.
In this industry, ETH is the coin to beat. It has enabled this industry more than any other because of its contract utility that has allowed other altcoins spring up by using its chain. I believe it will also perform well this season.

The way the bitcoin price pumped from 28k to 45k ETH, I haven't seen anything like that till now. So i am expecting a similar rally from ETH as well due to the potential ETF approval scenario.
The greatest undoing of ETH is its high gas fee and that has been driving investors away from investing in cryptos that have direct swap and withdrawal on that chain, except it can be withdrawn through the Arbitrum chain which is ridiculously low gas fee. I thought ETH2.0 would address that but sadly it hasn't.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project/token inflicted your biggest loss? on: February 18, 2024, 06:43:20 AM
Regalcoin will ever remain a point of great loss for me. It was that era of lending coins in 2017. What makes it memorable for me isn't the loss of capital in that coin but the fact that I had to sell off my over 200 BNB to acquire it with hope of getting back on BNB from the passive income I would be getting from Regalcoin. Well, we learn everyday in this industry.

In retrospect, the crypto project that I lost the most belonged to a ponzi service Bitcoinnect Smiley
Hah, Bitcoinnect! BCC as it was called, who was active in the crypto space in 2017 and wouldn't remember that coin? I don't think there's any. Anyway, I came out of it without a loss. I was entering the stage where I would start reaping from my invested capital when the scheme went under and that was within a period of 30 days or so after I had invested. I felt hurt anyway.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: February 17, 2024, 04:33:40 PM
Can we expect any rewards , for participating in them in Q4 2023?
Engaging in testnet has become the order of the day as most projects are going that way now, knowing that hunters are prepared to indulge them. What most hunters expect is any free token they can hodl for the bull run. The belief is that any token, it doesn't matter what's the utility, hedl before the expected bull run will amount to something they can cash out with. It's a 50/50 thing, both for projects and hunters. In the recent past, some of the stories about testnet rewards haven't been palatable but that's what it's because projects don't say what their distribution will be like. Some of them even get to add more hurdles as interest soar for their projects and make it cumbersome for hunters. I know that won't deter the dogged hunters from indulging fresh ones springing up here and there. So, OP there's no guarantee what testnets will offer testers.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My wealth plan in the next 3 years from today on: February 17, 2024, 03:24:59 PM
OP, your money; your choice. No one can tell you where not to put your money. However, I don't know what informed your investment decision at this moment when it's obvious that Bitcoin is spiking and investors will easily cash out from it. Except, you're an insider with the Tron team and you know what's cooking I would say you're taking a blind risk.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hold in patience, nothing can stop the raging bull when it comes on: February 17, 2024, 10:32:36 AM
Every long-term investor knows that it is not the right time to sell Bitcoin, as there is a good chance that the price will rise.
It's not just with long term investors alone, the regular investors know this too. Except for emergencies of health and exigencies, I don't think anyone should sell now. I won't even encourage anyone to sell whatever altcoins they're hodling now untill we've passed the Bitcoin halving. April is just around the corner for that event and so a little more wait won't kill anyone.

Quote
I advise your friends to think carefully before investing and to forget Bitcoin after buying it (I advise them to use a good wallet that has cold storage capabilities and that it is open source) and after more than 3 years they can safely sell their bitoin without loss.
Three years from now will be in the midst of another bear season. Anyone who hodls beyond 2025 is likely to have their portfolio dipped. This year and next will create more profit for anyone who invested early this year or last year and it will be wise not to let it lie idle in a wallet for the bear to catch up with it again.
