@Bob,
For anything it may still be worth, I want to publicly apologize for being incredibly insensitive towards you years ago. I was emotional and reacted with some comments I deeply regret.  I'd like you to know that I'm sorry to have judged and labeled you. I used sensitive information you confided in us and weaponized it in my haste.  I see how hurtful this was. It still hangs on me and I think about it more often than I'd like to admit.  Rather than continue to personally carry this into the future I'd much prefer owning it and working towards a sense of peace.
You are valuable and have mattered to all of us here. Wishing you and Rick all the best into the future!

Sincerely,
Icy

An observation:

In the first cycle (Bitstamp), Bitcoin dropped 81.26% (Keep in mind Bitcoin traded approx ~50% of this cycle)
Second cycle, Bitcoin dropped 86.89%
Third cycle, Bitcoin dropped 84.12%
Fourth and current cycle so far Bitcoin has dropped 77.34%

2nd, 3rd, and 4th cycles have seen the majority of adoption which has increased each time.

IMO, if you're waiting to buy at cheaper prices, you're gambling.

This train waits for no one. Don't get r0ached
DYOR

hmmm...my ocd says that in the first cycle we dropped from roughly $32 to about $2, which is more like 93.75%.
I agree with the sentiment, though.
I used Bitstamp as reference

30,000 pages! Impressive, Congrats to all of you, shaping the future.  Woot woot!
HODLing, stacking and occasionally lurking over here.
Current thoughts.
Bitcoin has historically and largely traded well above 30’s daily RSI and buying in or below this area has typically been met with support.    Since the March 2020 bottom, selloffs have been getting weaker while hashrate and network effects stronger than ever. Institutions, companies, high net worth individuals, plebs and countries are all taking positions.  I’m personally leaning towards continuation of the bull from here.
Hoping next milestone is post parity.

9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: October 18, 2021, 05:29:32 PM
I don't believe this channel has routed any transactions. Couldn't find a way to reboot lightning independently so I've rebooted the Umbrel, not sure if this is the same. Also tried reloading the channel backup. No changes.

No txid. I'll post in the thread you've recommended, thanks.

The TXID is in the image you posted. If you look at it on an explorer is it confirmed or is it just sitting in limbo?
If you don't want to give it out for privacy reasons that's fine, but its an important data-point to check.

You just want to start by making sure that something did not go wrong and the transaction was never broadcast.
From the been there done that department.

-Dave
Sorry, thought you'd meant the closing transaction.  Yes, that one's confirmed in block 700,550. I'm ok posting the details regarding this.

I've opened a channel using Umbrel's GUI and attempted to close it with the same however the funds have not returned to my wallet and the channel status shows closing since Sept 27.  Not sure what to do?  Here it is in Thunderhub.

What did you use to open & close the channel the umbrel GUI itself or did you install RTL or Thunderhub?

If you look at the 1ML (or other) explorer what does it show about the channel?

Do you see your node in the 1ML (or other) explorer?

-Dave

Ya, I used the umbrel GUI to open and close.  I have both apps, in thunderhub and it shows up under channels/ pending.   Shows up in 1ML explorer also, showing as active. Not exactly sure how to read it though.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Lightning node refuses to close on umbrel on: October 16, 2021, 07:16:49 PM
I have a funded lightning node running on umbrel that I've tried to close about 2 weeks ago and still shows closing status. Funds have not been returned and it looks like it'll never close. What can I do to get the sats back?  The node I'm connected with is 1ML.com Node Alpha

Thanks your dudeness!  Always fun to play yer game!

$46,464
Reasoning:
I think Bear market narrative will struggle to maintain a downward appearance starting from September.   Guessing that $46,464 will be inside the final challenged range below 50K beginning in December. Once it breaks, I expect that train will have forever left the station, Q1 2022.

One of them wants to show me how magnets stick to their arm now.  Wish I was making it up

I am sorry, but he is full of s-t, you can tell him that your friend who has PhD in Biology with 20+ year experience in genetics told you so.
However, if his arm is sweaty, a magnet very well might stick, but it is a property of water (high surface tension) and not any "magnetizing".
Superstition squared.

That's exactly what I thought and intended to call BS as well. So, you know anything about magnetofection? Source looks valid and they're talking the same language (mrna) but I'm not Biology savvy.

Without understanding this rabbit hole, here's another which at least speaks a little of my language.

'Conspiracy' peeps are looking to connect dots with the soon to be 5G tech for a narrative. Would love to tell them to blow it out their ass but it seems wiser to remain objective for now.

Bitcoin 2021 Miami Conference Becomes Superspreading Event as Dozens Test Positive For COVID-19

https://twitter.com/i/events/1403126437192900608?s=09

Well, you get to see who had vaccines and who did not. Excellent data points.

Dozens out of 50,000 doesn't sound like anything newsworthy.

The vaccine provides little to no protection from COVID-19. In fact, it isn't really a vaccine at all. It may even sterilize or kill anyone who has taken it. Nobody really knows since it is experimental and did not go though the normal 5-10 year approval process. Collectively, the human race is putting all of it's faith in big pharma and the corrupt censor-happy media. What could possibly go wrong?
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/vaccines/timeline

The CDC is now running the PCR tests for vaccinated people at a lower number of cycles (28 vs 42) to ensure the reported number of infected people is lower among the vaccinated.
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/downloads/Information-for-laboratories-COVID-vaccine-breakthrough-case-investigation.pdf

Look at how the media is pushing the vaccine so hard and not reporting the side effects or deaths from the vaccine. They say they don't want to report on the side effects because it will discourage people from getting the vaccine but shouldn't we make up our own minds with all available information? It is looking like there will be more deaths from the vaccine than COVID by the time this is done.

Come on bitcoiners, we are supposed to be the ones who think for ourselves.

Open your eyes once again and see what is really going on.

I agree about rushing of the vaccine, especially considering it's a new type; mRNA. Being skeptical is a good trait in my opinion, and mainstream media propaganda makes it even more important, but it doesn't hurt to learn more about the specific vaccine itself instead of making a call based on the assumption it is media lies.

The mRNA type vaccines simplified provides a mechanism to update the immune system directly by a RNA code sequence which is picked up and then presented to memory T-cells in the blood, as opposed to classic vaccines which generally operates by injecting dead bacteria/virus cells which the immune system attacks and then learn/updates the t-cells itself. In other words; it's not just a new vaccine, it's also a new delivery system.

If anyone wants to learn more and have a computer technical/programmer background rather than biology, this article reversing the pfizer mRNA code was very interesting:
https://berthub.eu/articles/posts/reverse-engineering-source-code-of-the-biontech-pfizer-vaccine/

I'm not vaccinated yet, but still willing to take vaccine when it becomes available. After reading about different vaccines a lot I would prefer Sputnik V, because my focus is not political, it's technical, and I rather pick one with better base protection than one with milder symptoms once infected with Covid.
Friend of the family is now blind 1 day after the Sputnik injection, and in our community we are getting quite a few reports of strokes just days or weeks after receiving other brands. One of them wants to show me how magnets stick to their arm now.  Wish I was making it up
