If something seems too good to be true it probably is.  Buyer beware!  Do your research!

Unfortunately it looks like at least 33x people fell for this scam (presuming a # of these aren't from the scamster himself to give the appearance of activity) from what his OP addy is showing.

Time to write this one in the blockchain.

45  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: XAPO Hot Wallet Service did turn into SCAM! BE AWARE ! on: January 17, 2017, 11:24:26 AM
Quick update.  Within 48 hours of making my initial post I was contacted by a Xapo representative to let me know that my KYC application had been approved.  All funds where subsequently made available.

Xapo definitely legit, just trying to comply with KYC requirements.  Would make all the difference in the world if they somehow made this abundantly clear before holding deposited funds hostage until such time as KYC requirements meet or external BTC address payout process (requires up to 7 days from what i under stand) is met.

Still testing the wallet and other than aforementioned no further complaints.
46  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: XAPO Hot Wallet Service did turn into SCAM! BE AWARE ! on: December 19, 2016, 07:04:27 AM
Any person who have lost access to their xapo they have to contact to them through their support ticket and I am sure that you will get a reply from them within 24 or 48 hours and if they will not be able to provide you their service then they will send all of your bitcoins to you to one of your other wallet.
Sure hope your right.  Just lost a pretty significant portion of my BTC funds which I was foolish enough to trust on Xapo.

*BTW, who really reads every new websites ToS that they are trying out? Any KYC requirements for wallet based services should require all of this documentation up front.

Too late to hop on board this coin?  Just read the OP and can't believe I didn't catch it sooner.  Like the idea and already sent FB group join request.

Any github source available for this puppy?

Downloading the chain now.  (*assuming I get any peer's that is :/)

Good job OP, you did a great work on that website.

The design is too white and it is hard to navigate with my eyes on the digits, you should edit the design, make a darker version and highlight important digits.
+1 this request most debinately.  If you had something along the lines of a Dark theme available (similar to finex) it would definitely be alot easier on the eyes of us night owls Wink
49  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Mining Hardware company "UFOMiners.com" (possibly same as Minerslab) on: December 02, 2016, 05:09:38 PM
I see that cointelegraph runs another story about UFOminers now. Dont these guys do ANY due dill? Pretty scary. https://cointelegraph.com/news/pros-and-cons-of-starting-bitcoin-mining-farm-no-more-childs-play
Think the answer to that is an emphatic 'obviously not!'

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help needed on mining and understanding (Im New!) on: November 16, 2016, 03:32:10 AM
Master Za1n speaks true.  Last block reward from nanopool was 5.62 ZEC

Block rewards will continue to increase until they reach 12.5/block and then as Za1n mentions we will see where things shake out for ZEC miners/investors.  Keep in mind, initial ZEC investors picked these bad boys up for $4.5/each and given slow initial mining distribution available coin supply is negligible which results in erratic price shifts as the order books are sparse so purchasing ZEC atm probably not the best idea (so again, agree with Za1n that most if not all should be sold asap)

So is anybody successfully staking this coin?  According to getstaking info my expected time keeps increasing?

I'm staking on the QT windows wallet, your interest ends up in the same wallet, look at your transactions and you should see incoming deposits.  My question is, what is more efficient? Staking with the program open or closed?
Staking with Linux wallet for last 2 days and not a single minted coin.  Anybody else using Linux wallet and successfully minting?

Ok, looks like the wallet has to be encrypted first with a passkey in order to enable minting.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SILENTARMY v4: Zcash miner, now with Nvidia support (Linux only) on: November 09, 2016, 11:47:13 AM
Have been running Silentarmy v4 steady now for past 5.75 hours without so much as a hiccup with comparable hashrate (~48sol/sec on 2x 4GB cards, 270x & 280x)

Keep up the great work fellas.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SILENTARMY v3: now a full miner! multi-GPU, Stratum support (Linux only) on: November 06, 2016, 12:55:35 PM

As for your question, personally I'm not aware of any 'hard-reboot' command other than sudo reboot.  Personally I've found just issuing a

Code:
echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger

As root. Not with sudo.

"I see said the blind man as he picked up the hammer and saw!"

No wonder I like linux so much, always a cool new trick to learn about!!

Figured I would go ahead and join the SilentArmy :p

Seeing as how I wanted to go ahead and check out this whole equihash deal figured this was as good a place as any.  Got 1x 280x and a 4gb 270x up and running at ~43sol/sec.

Is there a command in 16.04 to Hard-reboot Ubuntu? like in EthOS?

As dev2 some times drops from 50ish to 26... and it wont reboot(still runs) via ssh when I sudo reboot, have to go to the Rig to turn off.

sudo Hard-reboot...

maybe?
As for your question, personally I'm not aware of any 'hard-reboot' command other than sudo reboot.  Personally I've found just issuing a
Code:
pkill silentarmy
seems to do the trick.  Hope this helps Wink

Way to go navcoin, nice to see the coin seems to be doing far better than when I exited sometime back. Always was real good at pickin the good ones, investing early and then getting out too soon :p

Anyhoo, keep up the great work guys...the more legitimate coins out there competing the better imho.
57  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Update:Burningman App - Walk to Earn Bitcoins on: August 26, 2016, 11:50:27 PM
Sounded like an interesting project and thought I would check it out on my android phone but indicating not available yet for US citizens :/
58  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bfxdata.com | Bitfinex Market (price and market depth) + Swap Charts on: August 26, 2016, 11:41:01 PM
Historical views for Margin Trading apparently down (at least for me) and has been since the finex 'hack'.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BFX Tokens Issued, Bitfinex decides on Generalized Losses on: August 24, 2016, 07:03:48 AM
once bitfinex starts using new users funds to try covering old balances(in the form of tokens).. automatically its a ponzi and things get nasty

I can see that token price going up pretty high if they do it right and make a market for it.  People now have the ability to invest in finex which is the best exchange like it or not.  Finex might not actually push for a deal with investor before they have to issue token and give back 100% to keep people out of being share holders.  Its makes them work, i like it.
Sadly however this offer isn't being extended to US residents.  Essentially punishing residents of the states and providing no other option that I can see thus far other than redeeming at present value.

BTER has apparently delisted DVC.  Got several thousand of these puppies and absolutely nowhere to exchange em.  Ideas welcome Smiley
