Linux is far better OS than Windows

Rofl no, Linux is junk compared to Windows. No one is using it because it's inferior and too complex. Just because it has less viruses doesn't mean it has better security. In fact very few hackers target Linux users because they are so few. And those who use Linux are very technical and it's harder to hack them.

I'm a proud user of Linux. I NEVER used windows to mine. NEVER.

Remote management of a windows minig rig is a pain in the @ss! You need a graphical tool like VNC or RDP plus some service like TeamViewer and A LOT of internet bandwidth to properly show your "beautiful" desktop at client side... You need to pay for Windows too.

Linux is free and the remote management task is FAR way simple, cheaper and less resource hungry. You only need: ssh server (comes with Linux you only need to enable and/or configure) + ssh client (if you are not using a Linux machine as a client)  + cheap internet speed.

You don't need a powerful CPU neither a big disk.

My mining rig uses the cheapest 7th Gen Intel Celeron + 8 GB RAM + 64 GB M.2 Sata.

I'm sure I can run it with only 4 GB RAM and 32 GB M.2 Sata...

[]'s!

Nah, I use Teamviewer on a 56k connection here in Thailand (the hotel internet sucks). No problems at all controlling my 3 computers.
What is your point in listing your specs? I have Pentium 4560 CPU and 4gb of ram on a normal SSD disk on my mining rigs which run Windows 10.
I tried Linux, and I have been working with computers since mid 90's. Linux is shit and the reason why almost no one is using it EVEN THOUGH IT'S FREE is because everyone agrees with me except for a few Linux fanboys/Microsoft haters.

LOL!!!

What is your point in tell us you have been working with computer since mid 90s? I'm working with computer since mid 80's... And I use ssh on a 9k600 modem...

I know most people don't like Linux because most of things you need to do you do using text mode and don't have a cute little windows with places to click to change settings...

If Linux is shit like most Microsoft's fan boys tell... Than Microsoft never released a version of SQL Server (2017) for Linux or uses Linux at Azure... AWS and Google Cloud Platform uses Linux too...

I really think who thinks Linux is shit as persons with very limited skills or knowledge about operating systems, too lazy to change the way they think or too lazy to learn new things in a world where technology changes faster and faster...

For someone who have been working with computer since mid 90s like you, post something like you post is uglier than beating your own mother! LOL!

cya!

You just explained why it's shit.
Why the fuck would I want to waste my time writing a bunch of shit when I can just click it?
Why the fuck would I want to learn some shit I am not interested in when I can use something much easier?
Yeah keep calling me lazy. I put my time where it matters. Linux is still shit.

CYA!

I find it difficult to assess as a professional, but in my opinion the project is excellent. team approach as in the project SAFINUS

The project is awesome no doubt in that. If they keep making their site fast and add more and more features we will surely be in top 20 exchanges.

All Coins Up since two days and fuking COSS not moving and silently sleeping coin.. can you wake up this coin ha ha ha

All my portfolio is a sea of red at the moment. I don't see any coins having gone up unless I am so damn unlucky and just bagholding all the sad coins. I still have a lot of hope on COSS but as usual for crypto peeps the moon can't come fast enough or the lambo where COSS is concerned. The next six months will determine the future of COSS and so am sticking it out to see where we go from here. I do have hope that the COSS team will deliver.  Cheesy

Same here, most of my portfolio is in red.
I keep COSS medium to long term. The devs are definitely trying.
This is an exchange. It's not overnight hype pump.
The difference with exchanges compared to other projects is that you see exactly what happens.
Dont expect to see COSS at $0.5 today and $5 tomorrow.
COSS will go up, but not pumped like other tokens. Its increase will come from the exchange popularity and volume increase, which will happen slowly.
But once people realize COSS tokens are a way to have a passive income the price is going to explode, much faster than Binance or Kucoin.
With only 5000 COSS and Binance volume you don't have to work in most rich countries in the world and still earn the average salary.

So this BTCP is the reason BitcoinZ keeps being dumped.

Alright, you see that main page motherfuckers?!

THAT'S what I'm talking about when I mentioned they should update the main page. It's just beautiful, stunning, minimalistic. I couldn't have imagined it better myself!
It's a mockup, but this is great as it is in my opinion!
Clean, nice, no bullshit, no useless info. Just "I see clearly the button I need and that's where I'm clicking".

The only thing I'd remove is that white "Exchange" text in the top left. It looks out of place.

Ok so I think I've received my fee split.

And it got me confused. I thought I get x amount of COSS, instead, I got a fraction of a bunch of coins.
I have the option to either distribute or convert to ETH.

And also on some coins, for example ADI, I get this message:
"Be aware that the minimum deposit amount for  ADI on a COSS wallet is 20  ADI! Depositing less will not count towards your balance."

Does that mean I have to wait for like 200+ weeks to be able to transfer my ADI fee to my wallet or else I won't get anything? (I got 0.09 ADI with this fee split).

What should I do with all this? Convert what I can to ETH?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: February 21, 2018, 12:08:46 PM

I trust neither SpectreCoin and Onion, but I'm moderately invested in SpectreCoin. There's no way I'm going to risk my money by investing in both.
Between SpectreCoin and Onion, I had to pick the lesser of two evils.

i hope nobody forced you to choose either one  Huh (if so, this message is alarming and we should call the police Shocked)

I have my reasons why I chose one of them. But it depends a lot on the development. First moderate warning sign and I'm dumping.

If your reason is " i don't trust neighter of them " i'd suggest you start dumping right now  .... at least i have no problem seeing you leaving with such an argument.

Well eventually I will. But when I decide to, not when some dude on forum tells me to.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining as full time income on: February 21, 2018, 12:08:03 PM
First of all - Why would you need to quit your job for mining?
You don't have to sit next to your rig the whole day and babysit it.
The next point is: How long will mining be profitable enough to replace your income? What will you do if crypto market completely crashes (unlikely to happen, but possible in theory)?
Will you be able to find a job immediately or will you be unemployed without any income or reserves? If you're able to get another job immediately, okay, maybe this could work, but:

Travelling the world? Do you want to carry your mining rig with you or remote maintain it? What will you do if you can fix the problem from somewhere else? What if you need to replace something? How long would be the periods you can't locally fix your rig? I mean - you don't have to sit next to your rig the whole day but you should at least monitor it properly and being able to fix it locally if something fails wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Might want to read the above post.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining as full time income on: February 21, 2018, 11:14:55 AM
I have a laptop set up with Teamviewer to control my 3 computers remotely. Changing coins, etc won't be a problem.
Thanks to mining I'm heading to Thailand this weekend and will stay there for a month.

I think that mining has become a big business. And even though difficulty will increase there will be new coins created for mining. If you sell coins on a 2 week basis that will be quick enough not to end up with a shitload of scamcoins which get dumped easily therefore lose value.
I will need a place to store all these computers while I'm gone and for that I have my parents. I don't need them to do much than maybe inspect every month or two. I've had my 13 cards since June and I have never experienced a single hardware failure.
Sure after 3 years of constant mining some cards might fail, but I don't mind coming back and fixing them every 2 or so years.

I am not mining Bitcoin, but I have monitored Bitcoin mining profit for 8 months now and it hasn't changed much. Yes suddenly I don't mine 2.5BTC for the value of $8000/month like 6 months ago but I mine 0.8BTC for the same value. The difficulty went up a lot but so did the value.
I don't think altcoins will be much different, and those that spike up in difficulty is because they suddenly became more valuable than others, which will equal the whole earnings/difficulty situation and give you roughly the same as before.

173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining as full time income on: February 21, 2018, 10:23:46 AM
I was thinking about going full out mining and start earning at least as much as I earn now (about €1900 after taxes) and quit my job and instead travel the world.

I currenltly have 13x1060 and 1x1080Ti which net me between $700-$1000/month (after electricity and it depends a lot on crypto price). I also have almost 6000 COSS tokens and if the exchange picks up and goes to Binance-volume in few years then I will probably not have to work for as long as they operate.
I was thinking about selling my car and getting twice as much hashpower and then just enjoy life in different parts of the world.

I believe mining is here to stay for as long as crypto will exist, which is forever.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: February 21, 2018, 07:29:29 AM
Why is there so much hatred for Onion on this thread? It seems everyone here wants Onion to fail...
I have both Onions and Spectres, and I hope both of them will succeed.
If you're into privacy coins, you must have a mixed portfolio, and both XSPEC and ONION are a must have. Don't put all your eggs in a single basket...

175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is currently cannibalizing altcoins on: February 20, 2018, 10:28:24 PM
Bitcoin dominance is slowly increasing. It was at 34% a few days ago, now it's at 39.5%. Most altcoins are red.
Bitcoin is currently more than twice the market cap of #2, Ethereum.

Do you think that altcoin hype is finally fading?
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]COSS Token Swap ICO is LIVE on: February 20, 2018, 09:56:05 PM
I'm not getting any fee split added to my account and it's the second weekend I've had COSS tokens in my wallet (on coss.io ofc).
Got nothing the first week probably because I transferred them on Sunday. But why didn't I receive anything this week?
Because I have not verified my account? I have a basic account.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy COSS on: February 20, 2018, 01:59:45 PM
I wish I could buy more but my vacation is in less than a week Sad
Still, got 5800 tokens.
COSS will definitely reach $10 late this year or early 2019.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: February 20, 2018, 11:13:46 AM
Good to see more and more onion guys making the switch from deep opnion to spectrecoin. finally the whole cryptocommunity grows up.
I have some spectres, but I have more onions because there was no ICO and it has a max supply of 25 million (and an airdrop).  Spectre had an ICO and has no max supply, which is two big downers for me.

A big downer for me is you being too ignorant to see your hypocracy... the reason you having more crying onions then xspec is the fact that you have begged for it.. see the rules for onion airdrop.. almost sold your soul for a few onions... everytime i read those DO rules to get airdrops.. i feel sorry for every person with that signature.. we make a deal. If you put my company name + slogan in your signature, at least write 5 positive messages about it each week, with minimum of 80 characters, buy my products, register to our newsletter, work for at least 5 hours a week on a non-paid basis.. you have a chance to be awarded 20 xpec a month.. what you waiting for?!

Well while I don't own any Onions now, the airdrop was quite lucrative. I joined for the airdrop and got about 550 Onion on the first airdrop. Then I went to their website to look for a tutorial where to store them. On the official page, tutorial forum, there was an online wallet. I thought it was an official wallet so I sent my coins to it and got disqualified from receiving new airdrops and also the wallet was a scam and the owner ran away with all my Onions.
My fault for not realizing this before (but I was still new to crypto), but fuck the Onion developers for allowing a random person to post a scam wallet tutorial on the official page. That was not a professional move at all.
Funny thing is those 550 Onions would've been worth $2500 today and $10.000 when it was at its peak. And I would've probably gotten a lot more because I wouldn't be disqualified.
Oh well, lesson learned.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SNC] SunContract - Decentralized Energy Market TOKEN SALE IS LIVE NOW!!!! on: February 19, 2018, 10:48:19 PM
Getting SunContract on Huobi and Okex was not a good move.
Too much trading volume on a low market cap coin. The swings in short time are insane.
Should've waited with big exchanges until at least 100mil market cap.

Why on earth would be lots of volume bad?   It can never be. But those volume can be fake if exchanges have no trading fees. Or those that trade have so high tiers that they dont pay any trading fees.  So you alwaay need to look at volume more detailed.   But never ever is high volume bad.

Yeah if the coin has big market cap more volume is good. SunContract doesn't.

Look what happened in only few hours:

Why the price fell so much today  Huh Everything is pretty stable today +/- 5% but COSS around -10%.

And what is the current situation with new engine? They only have 9 days left to update it. I really hope they have already built it and now only fixing a few bugs.

I have really big hopes for this project and invested a lot in it but on the other hand i don't have that good feeling about COSS anymore. Especially when you hear/read bad things about current CEO. I really hope it's only FUD.

Oh only now i have realized... They are planning to launch their new UI near the end of February not engine.

What bad things about their CEO?
