41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTCZ] BitcoinZ - zkSNARKs 21b max POW-Equihash No-Premine No-Dev Tax on: June 16, 2018, 11:50:52 PM
I tried to download Zhasher and went here:
https://github.com/btcz/zhasher

But it says this: -------- !OBSOLETE! Please use EWBF's miner as it has a 10x improvement over Zhasher!
So wtf, we are to use EWBF miner which has 2% fee and doesn't donate to BTCZ devs? Also his miners uses 2.9gb which is definitely not gonna work on Windows 10, maybe not even Windows 7. So I have to install fucking Linux? I WILL NOT use Linux. If I am forced into that shit OS I will move my hash to some other coin.
Why is Zhasher obsolete?

Should I be getting accepted shares on Suprnova if Block 160,000 hasn't happened yet?  --- So far the speed is 35 sols on a GTX 1080 Ti @ 80% power, Core +125, Memory Stock, on the new EWBF miner.

It's showing correct hash for me, although I see these errors:
Round Progress: 11,068,752.48 %
Difficulty: 1.00

I was around in late 2013 when BTC went from $600 to $1000 then quickly dropped to $200 right around April. So it's exactly a 4 year mirror for me. Started in Dec 2013 left in April 2014. Big mistake. Started again in Dec 2017 and this time I'm not leaving.

Back then BTC dropped 80% in value.

We are not there yet at this time. It will go 80% below its $19,500 peak point.  So it will linger around $4000 range until a huge push starting in may and accelerating in Sept of 2021 with a new peak of around $100K in Jan 2022. At that time BTCz shoud hit 10 cents which is enormous 50x gain from where it is now. It may even be at top 100 if we all stick together and believe in our devs.

What many dont appreciate enough here in altcoin world is   the core dev teams, the ones who put the code together. When you consider how many ICOs are out there - which means you don't mine but you BUY coins from the devs and that's why they are considered securities, rightfully so - and they all turn into a bunch of greedy ones who cash their ICOs into Ether and get out.

Now you get maybe 20% left across 500+ projects that are mineable. That's still 100 plus coins but then majority were taking over by ASICs so they are subject to daily mine-n-dump by those who are ASIC bagholders trying to get NOI. The fastest BTC miner the S9 loses $2.5 in electricity cost in California. Maybe it makes some money in China.

That leaves you with a handful of coins. Let's talk Equihash for now. VOT is a nice project, the dev is a hardcore programmer but he has a little premine and doesn't seem to be very interested in expanding his project.

If you take out anyone like Snowgem with 5% dev tax and ZCash with 20% dev tax you are left with only a handful of projects that resemble the old days of BTC. Devs working purely for the technology and not to get rich overnight.  That also means no budget for marketing and listing on exchanges. Not many exchanges are fine. But we all need to use donating pools for projects marketing budget.

Ethereum was massively premined for greedy Vitalik. Probably ordered by Putin himself. That's why most ICOs are sold in Europe because of its proximity to Russia and Putin. They are sucking the wealth out of Europe, as usual like they have been with energy, with fabricated ICOs mostly coming out of the old eastern block. Luckily many are banned in the USA.

BTC was also instamined about 1M coins in the genesis block but those have never been moved and possibly never will as many suspect Satoshi is dead.

BTCz and ZCL are two of the only active coins I know with no dev fee and no premine. Well ZCL started as an honest project by Rhett but was played and pumped and dumped into an illusionary BTCP project. I personally got caught myself and bought into some ZCL hype and the BTCP ended up being a loss. ZCLs converted to BTCP were only less than 4M coins. But millions of free BTCP coins entered the market by those who had no skin in the game, never mined, just had a bunch of BTC (like Bittrex) and cashed out the freely airdropped BTCP against those who bought ZCL at $120 to get a single BTCP. They used Rhett, as a front as the show kid and Cryptojack , Tai Zen and his  other buddy just raped the project. It was so bad even Coinbase blocked Tai Zens account, (a few days after BTCP was dumped to oblivion and cashed into BTC) for massive BTC deposit and sale to fiat as they did some investigation on him. He took it to twitter and admitted it himself that his Coinbase account was suspended for withdrawals. And if that was not enough greed, with BIP9 the devs will then take over the BTCP coins from those 10M BTC owners who never claimed their BTCP. That is estimated to bring in $200M+ for the devs in their BIP9 theft scheme mainly run by CryptoJack. At this point they kicked Rhett out too, they don't need the poster kid. So this is what BIP9 theft technology really is: if you have BTC and never claimed your BTCP free coins, the devs will take over and sell them for their own profit. It's right in their white paper. That's on top of the donated 30,000 BTCP they dumped in the first days.

Now you have BTCz . An honest project that is rare. In my 4.5 years in Crypto, this is the only one with a solid team. Ones who stick to it and keeps it moving. Because of its low budget, some devs have gotten cold feet, moved on to other projects or made another project.  But we still have an amazing team if great devs who are working tirelessly in the recent advances.

For example as a plus to BTCz, almost none of other new projects have an Andorid wallet of their own (Coinami and Freewallet dont count). That's a red flag right there. Why? Because you need a credit card, address, name, ID and have to pay a $100 fee per year to open an Android dev account and upload an app. That would expose one's identity and not a good idea for a scammer team. It would also show the dev team is most probably not from some scammer slum in nowwhereland but from a decent neighborhood in the US, Canada or Europe. Someone who cares about his life, doesn't want to go to jail and is not planning on stealing your money. BTCz is the only Equihash coin with a branded wallet of its own. Even ZCash doesn't have one. Many never will even though they have it listed in their copy/paste road maps.

The devs also worked hard to kill the A9/Z9 ASICs recently. That was a huge undertaking that required cooperation of tens of exchanges and mining pools. I don't think many really know what effort it really took to get where we are a few hours from fork. And even now they are working on fending off the time warp attackers.

Now there you have it. The choice is yours.  You can buy massively overpriced EOS coins at $10 BILLION marketcap that were created by Dan out of thin air, in literally 15 minutes of ERC20 copy and paste or invest time and money in a project that matters with a solid road map and micro tiny $2M marketcap that has massive upside potential.

See you in 2022!

Nice read.
The bold part is why I advocate here to implement some dev fee in Zhash miner. Or at least, make two versions, one with and one without donation.
While some might say "But why? Just mine on pools that donate to devs." - Well, I want the flexibility to choose whatever pool I want, even the one that doesn't donate to devs. This way, my miner will always donate to devs.
But I still think you should add a forced dev fee. Most of us miners have been mining with software which force fee to the creator of the mining software. One percent from everyone's mine is not a big deal, but the total hash donation will bring that very needed support for this coin to move forward faster.

Also it has no future. You forgot to mention the most critical point. Please don't be so one sided.
no future, are you serious, Mindin?
what are you talking about?
Current, there are several exchanges to sell and buy Bitcoin Z.

So what, 100's of shitcoins with no future is traded on several exchanges, When the dust settles only the biggest and the strongest will be left standing. I don't see BTCZ in that category.

If you ever doubt why BTCz is possibly one of the best, then read this article so you understand how BTCz deserves to be at least one of the top 50:

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@brooklynite/btcz-and-how-it-is-a-distinguished-crytocurrency-bitcoinz-or-bitcoin-2-0/

And with patience it is going to happen. Trust me I have been in this market since 2013. My previous handle (without the 1 at the end) was compromised and taken over by some russian spammer.

If I was around since 2013, I'd be dirty rich by now.

They started a new thread that they can moderate and delete negative feedback XD
My comment was already deleted.
Talk about shady tactic!

Your comment was deleted because it was senseless rambling and in no way constructive and if you can be bothered to read you will know why we have another thread. Don't you have anything else to do with your time than this. Sad.  Angry
Have a look at GitHub and you will see that we are constantly developing, using our time constructively. Not wasting time by posting rubbish.

Here is your post Nebell:
Oh so this is a new ANN so you can have control over all the posts in the ANN?
This coin was shilled like there's no tomorrow. Is this a way to let people shill the coin wh.ile deleting the negative posts?
Let's see if this gets deleted.

Comments on if this is constructive criticism or not. Are you discussing the software here or what?

Why? ANN threads are not created to discuss software ONLY
They are created to discuss the whole project, and even the developers.
You're fighting decentralization by moderating your own thread.

And I am here like once every 3-5th day. I got way better things to do with my life than come here complaining. But you deserve it for being so shady.

Hey, fellows! I rely this project will be advance and can be arrived the hard cap of ICO!

Welcome!
BitcoinZ has NO airdrop, premine, ICO!

It also has a 10 BTC donation that went who knows where and a price dropping faster then the Titanic

Check the old DGB charts. Expect to see it at 012 and don't come crying like a noob when that happens.

I fomo'ed at 046.

BTW. I had a party watching some guy telling he only get 32 sol where i get 300. Please correct that..

After that he will probably expect me to pay for his sugar bons.

He is however right.
I support BTCZ, but NO ONE is saying what happened to that donation!
Just fucking come forward with the truth.
Was it stolen? Is it stored to be used later? Or what?
I'm really annoyed that it's been so quiet about it.
I will start spamming this thread until we get an answer. I will ask on every page what happened.
I fucking hate secrets.

NOTICE for GTX 1060 3GB users.

It is very likely Win10 and the new Zhash algo will not be able to work. Something about Win10 using to much memory for itself and not releasing enough for the new algo. Some people are claiming success but most others are not. One rather drastic solution is to revert back to Win7. I am developing a alternative that allows you to keep Win10 intact.

I've been working on a ready to work out of the box Zhasher Micro Linux O/S that will fit on a 4GB or larger USB Flash drive. I am building this to help address the GTX 1060 3GB issue but it will also work on the rest of the Nvidia cards as well. Sorry, AMD is not supported by Zhasher as of yet. Though I hear they are working on it. Whenever that is done, I will release a update. This will enable you to keep your Win 10 install intact. Just pop in the USB and reboot and start mining. You will have to configure a few things on the 1st boot but then after that it should just flat work. I am including a few screen shots of it showing some of the features it has at

http://www.altcap.biz/zhashwin10fix/

There is also a picture from one of the beta testers from discord showing his rig of 6-1060 3GB's running it.

http://www.altcap.biz/zhashwin10fix/1063Working.png

This is a work in progress. I am building it off of a Micro Linux that I have been developing and using for the last year on all my rigs. The whole O/S size is less than 1 Gig so theoretically I'll be able to fit it on a 2GB drive with room to work still. But 4Gb is fine for now.

Ok, So here is the question. Do you think is alright if I set it up to 50% share mining on it for about 15 minutes a day. You and I would split mining shares for the 15 minutes.  The other 23hours 45 minutes are all yours of coarse.  I guess we would kind of call it a dev fee. That would work out to be roughly a 0.5% fee. I would rather do it this way because most pools are PPLNS. I am thinking if you  stop mining on your pool account completely  like most dev fees work, it would be more harmful to your daily earnings.  Rather if you slow down for a period of time while sharing with me would be less harmful as the pool will see you haven't stopped completely. I am asking this before I release it.  If I am getting enough push back on this, I will release it without the fee share. If everyone is OK with it, I will use the fee to further feature enhancement going forward. Some of the thoughts I have are  self monitoring and repair of mining crashing, Have the "option" to activate being able to remote in to the pc via remote desktop, keeping up with new releases, adding other BTCZ miners as they are developed etc. Things like that. So let me have your complete thoughts on this concept.

We would also setup another 15 minutes for the BitcoinZ Community Fund. So they would get a 0.5% donation as well. So your total donation would roughly 1%. Just a reminder, Zhasher is being released with no dev fee.

So check out the pics and let know your thoughts on this.

Overdrive5

P.S. I'll post the current readme file contents in the next post.

That's a damn shame about Win10, I will have to install Win7 as I have no interest in using Linux. Nor I know how to use it.

About that dev fee, yes I would absolutely be ok with it.
I don't speak for everyone, I'm sure some will resist to it, but those people need a reality check. If they are mining this coin then they are interested in keeping it alive. 1% dev fee is basically nothing and most other miners have a much larger dev fee. But it will help developers a lot.

Be thankful that the market lull gives COSS time to upgrade weak parts and build up the organisation. COSS will be more ready than ever once the general crypto bull run resumes.

Yeah I agree, starting an exchange is not as profitable now as it used to be.
Works great for mining as well.
A bit risky, but I'm going full out mining a community coin. If it losses a dev, there's always someone else who will step in.

WORD OF ADVICE to BTCZ devs - don't wait to to make the change to ZHASH after ASICS drive up the difficulty or it will be an ugly transition. Just went through a week of hell with ETN making the algo change back to GPU and its still not quite right yet.... and has been very costly for the devs team to implement now.

The fork is already locked in. It's 1 week away.

Hey I downloaded the CPU miner and I get 0 sols/s is that normal because the new chain is not up and running yet?

I guess it is because the new chain with ZHash algo will start from 160 000 block height, it will run in parallel with the old Equihash until block 160 010, and from that only the ZHash based will be accepted.

Did you try the ZHasher on test net? Instructions and syntax examples at middle of page https://github.com/btcz/zhasher/releases

--------------------------
BitcoinZ: Current block height 156 928: https://explorer.btcz.rocks/block/000000023f7d7a588abb3fe5db9bccd6eb16d62a852c68bea841e3bdfcd7a907

Can you start mining now with the new Zhash miner or should we wait until block 160.000?

Are all pools supported from the go or we have to wait on them to update? Or maybe they don't need to do anything?

Any information if BTCZ will still be mineable with 3gb 1060?

ZHash in its current state is able to mine BTCZ with 2.6GB of RAM which is less than 3GB. The 1060 3GB card is the lowest end card we want to support. As far as I know, as long as it is not being used as a video card by windows, then it should be able to mine.

Thank you.
And you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work.

Maybe add dev donation in the new miner if it's being developed by you. I'd gladly support it as this gives me the option to chose whatever pool I want and still keep donating to BTCZ team.

Yeah I'd support a 1-2% developer donation fee. Since I have 3 mining computers that would be 3-6%.
That's the most hillarious calculation I have ever seen. Cheesy

On a serious note: I just took a look at the vieo with the explanations. One thing that caught my eye was the 2.5 GB mem requirement. Does that mean that I cannot mine BTCZ on windows with my 1060 3GB card anymore?

Recalculate then Mr smart-ass.
