1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin driving others on: February 07, 2018, 04:44:33 PM
Hi,

Bitcoin is the original alt coin, so it is quite logical that its trend tend to drive others'.

But you are right, if we follow the logic of offer and demand, actually when btc goes down, eth should rise. This would be true if cryptos were the man trading factor. But it is not. When the price of bitcoin falls, it is because (amongst other reasons) people are selling their bitcoin. But they do not sell to buy other cryptos, they sell to get back their initial currency (generally speaking, fiat money, such as dollars, euros, etc).

So yes, this will be true when bitcoin are traded for other alt coins. But I hope this won't happen, because, please, remember that bitcoin is NOT a trading tool.  Kiss
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not invest in bitcoin if you don't know anything about it on: February 07, 2018, 04:01:40 PM
Hi

Actually... Bitcoin is not particularly risky. It is particularly badly understood and umproperly used but...

It is quite easy to make money through bitcoin: wait. Hold and wait. Wait and hold and wait again.
In the end, chances are high that you made a profit.

Though, it is not 100% sure. That's right.

And just like with any other game or trading platform, you should only bet what you can afford to lose. We are not on TV and Harvey Specter is not going to give you a hand if you lose your company, your assets and your house. But this is not linked to bitcoin, just to human stupidity.   Lips sealed
1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Green Market Soon... on: February 07, 2018, 03:49:50 PM
Hi,

I don't think that people necessarily need to buy right now. I think there is still some time left before the price rises up again, before reaching historical levels.

But as you say, indeed, such trend was relatively easy to forecast. That's just the normal yearly curb of bitcoin. Wink
1764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders being taxed in India on: February 07, 2018, 03:37:27 PM
Hi,

This cannot be really true.

What I mean here, is not that the piece of news is fake, I didn't check actually. BUT what I am sure of is that such regulation cannot be implemented. Just because the taxation system, in any country, goes through a system of statement. So if the Indian government really wants to tax bitcoin earnings... Well sorry, but it cannot be done, unless bitcoinners state they have earned money through crypto.

And I don't believe bitcoin users are ready for that! Wink
1765  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the main reason for Bitcoin Price down? Will it stay for a long time? on: February 07, 2018, 03:25:04 PM
Hi,

The price is getting lower.. quite logically, because it was crazy by the end of 2017! But if you remember well, one year ago the price was around 3k. So the current price has actually doubled if you compare month to month.

Then, I understand that you can be worried if you have invested all you money.. But at what moment did you think it was a good idea? Bitcoin is not a short-term trading tool! Prices tend to get higher over the long term.. But you must be ready to wait a very long time without needing your initial investment.

So, yes it is normal. It can bounce back but nobody can tell you when. Be brave (and stop investing money you can't afford to lose)!
1766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can bitcoins be converted into cash? on: February 07, 2018, 10:43:08 AM
Hi,

Of course, you can.

You just have to use any dedicated platform...

For the moment, this option is absolutely necessary, because you cannot use bitcoin for you daily shopping. Wanna buy some milk? Well, it has to be in dollar/euro/insert any traditionnal fiat currency.
1767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 07, 2018, 09:22:17 AM
Hi,

Yes, bitcoin is over, the price is too low, it is dead!

Well if bitcoin is dead, long live bitcoin!

Seriously, there is nothing to worry about. One year ago the price was 3k (half the current value) and people were saying that everything was over. But then the price went down enough for people to be interested and start to buy again! That's just the way it works with bitcoin. The price is highly volatile and really hard to forecast.

So don't panic sell, just wait and see. Wink
1768  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1btc = 6k usd on: February 07, 2018, 09:09:01 AM
Hi,

Last year, at the same period (more or less one month,  don't remember so well), the price was around 3k. I'm not saying I want it to fall back to those levels, I don't, but I don't understand why people are freaking out. It s just how bitcoin works. And I'm ready to bet that in December, the price will rise back to historical levels!

Indeed, for people trying to make a living using bitcoin as a tradng tool, this situation is hard to handle. But bitcoin has never been designed as a trading tool and should not be used that way...
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: Which Asian countries have the greatest influence on bitcoin? on: February 07, 2018, 08:58:11 AM
Hi,

What is interesting here is that the stuation is very different from one Asian country to another. It would be easy to say that all their governments are trying to implement banning regulations, but it would also be wrong.

On top of that, there are other Asian countries, with less bitcoinners but still very active in the community, such as Vietnam. That's interesting to see that whereas bitcoin is just a trading tool in south Korea, it can be considered as a real replacement economy in Vietnam.

Of course the political and economic situation in those countries can explain the differences.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN DIED THOUSANDS OF TIMES, JUST KEEP ON LIVING HODL! on: February 06, 2018, 01:46:54 PM
Hi,

Interesting to see that bitcoin is dyng almost once a year and people don't learn. They still panic sell and stll buy again when the price is higher and still talk about mass manipulation and large entities having the upper hand on cryptos..

MAYBE, there are indeed people that can really influence crypto moves. Maye this is true. But I don't see any evidence of that. Just because for the moment, the basic tools used to manipulate a market (especially enjoy a government announcement) are simple. And can be profitable for anyone, even small owners.

So, as we say, Bitcoin is dead, long live bitcoin!
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 06, 2018, 01:24:27 PM
Accept the fact that most of governments will oppose crypto currency. Obviously there are some countries who have decided to embrace the future, but let's face it, most of governments will stand against. Who likes their currency to be weaken? Every time a stupid country opposes bitcoin, there is so much fud and a great price drop.

China bans mining

South Korea will not ban crypto but obviously does not welcome it

India banning crypto

I fully expected this resistance from governments.

Don't be surprised if more countries come out against bitcoin

And?

Is it really surprising? No. Most government are using their control on their fiat money to make arrangements with large companies or to deal with the country's debt. So, of course, they cannot welcome a currency that cannot be controled, nor bribed, or corrupted or threatened.

So they are trying to implement regulation, to limit or even prevent the use of cryptos. I am rather sure it won't change anything for crypto users. Just because technological changes are much faster than the regulating system and the process involved to create, vote and implement a law.

Maybe, it will prevent cryptos to be used for daily necessities for a while. But this is already true due to the inner characteristics of crypto so...

So no, I'm not surprised. I am not panicking when China announces it is banning btc. And I don't think this is a real threat! Wink

(As for India, I read that the government actually made it legal... Which option is the true one?)
1772  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin lower than $6000? Is it possible? on: February 06, 2018, 01:07:19 PM
Hi,

Why would it be impossible?
October 2017 is not even a year ago!

I know that dealing with technology, things become quickly obsolete but... We are only talking about prices! So, yes, it is possible.

However, if you want to wait until such prices are reached to buy... I would say this is a bad idea. Prices are going down but if you look at trends, the sharp decrease has come to end end. Prices are now rather stable, around 10k. I don't say it is impossible that it goes lower... It is possible but highly improbable.
1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to all people who panic when crypto price goes down! on: February 06, 2018, 12:45:25 PM
Why do you panic? Why?

IF YOU DO NOT SELL, YOU DO NOT LOSE ANYTHING! YOU LOSE THE MOMENT YOU SELL, after you purchased high and buy low. It does not matter what is the price ATM, the only thing which matters is what is the price when you decide to sell. So, to shield yourself from losing money, DONT sell under the price you bought it.

If you trust in crypto and believe it ll bounce back, WHAT THE FUCK IS THE PROBLEM AND WHY PANIC?

If you do not trust in crypto and you have doubts whether it ll bounce back, well, in that case you are in the wrong industry and you shouldn't have invested in crypto in the first place.

So knowing this, what is the problem again?

This. This is exactly what I should answer everytime people are asking if they should sell to avoid "losing more money".

It makes no sense to me to sell when you are sure to make a loss. I can't understand, especially when dealing with BITCOIN. This currency won't disappear in the blink of an eye. It is not a small altcoin only used on a single webste. It is the historical concept. The very begining of the community.

Thank you for this post. Smiley
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver to dump his 250k worth of bitcoins on: February 06, 2018, 12:36:30 PM
I guess that these are logics that we are far from understanding... Just because we don't have that much money, so we could not afford to lose such an amount...

But for some, few, lucky, people, this is just pocket money. So they can play with it, through long-term strategies... or lose all their bitcoin because they have seen another investment opprtunity!

I am not able to explain the "why". I don't think that we have to involve conspiracy theories to explain such behaviour... It is just that capitalism works differently according to your own balance sheet. And until you are rich enough, some strategies will definitely be ununderstandable! Wink
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of the Digital coins? on: February 06, 2018, 12:30:13 PM
Hi,

It's not the end.  don't say that bitcoin cannot come to an end, it is a serious possibility.

But if it does, it will be sudden, brutal, rough. We will not have months and months to talk about it BEFORE it happens (after, yeah, sure).

For the moment, what we can observe is that the price is going rather down.. People are just waiting for the price to be low enough to buy again.
On top of that, if you observe curves, indeed, there is a similarity with a bubble. But even if it bursts (which would not be good), it is not the end. If it bursts, some things may change but... the bitcoin won't disappear.

I don't see any reasonable argument here tending to prove that digital coins are dead.
1776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I invest in BITCOIN ???? on: February 06, 2018, 12:25:59 PM
Hi,

You will get no insurance. You will get many advice on this thread but nothing certain.

I guess that you already have your own viewpoint on the matter. Asking for advice is good, but remember that actually nobody knows. In this forum, you can either find people saying that bitcoin is dead and you should sell everything you own and others who will tell you that now is the perfect timing to buy!

So if you want to make up your mind, I guess that you only have to clarify some questions with yourself:
1 - Are you willing to invest over the long term? (Prices won't necessarily rise up next month)
2 - Are you able to "lose" the money you invest? (Either for few months or forever, be ready to lose, because that is highly probable)
3 - Do you think that bitcoin will make you a millionnaire? (if so, sorry but it is not true anymore)

Once you have answered those questions, you can make a reasonable decision! Wink
1777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin over? on: February 06, 2018, 12:16:23 PM
Hi,

STOP PANICKING!

Everythnig is ok. Yes, prices go down and yes, it has been quite a while. BUT, there is nothing to worry about for the moment. Bitcoin has always gone through ups and downs and I am quite persuaded that price will recover and by the end of the year, reach new all-time peaks.

If you rely on this investment for your everyday life, or any real-life investment, I can understand that such situation is worrying. But bitcoin should not be used as a short-time trading tool. It is an investment over the long term!
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm taking a break on: February 06, 2018, 11:53:37 AM
Hi,

It can be hard to take a break if bitcoin has become an important source of revenue for you.

In fact, it is great that you are still able to realize it, because it means that you still have some control on it.

I guess that bitcoin can be like casino or any betting games for some people... Except that bitcoin, in most countries, is not regulated at all. So if you don't realize it yourself, you can lose quite a lot of money...

Good luck in rehab! Wink
1779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doctors and clinics accepting cryptocurrency on: February 06, 2018, 11:00:16 AM
Hi,

The project is interesting but I have some questions...

1- How do you check that people registering as doctors are really doctors? You know, I guess, that in many countries (if not all), studies to become doctor, nurse and so on, are really hard and demanding. But people can pretend they are doctors, then register. You would be ready to risk people's life?

2- In some countries, being a foreign doctor is not enough to get a right to practice. If you are.. I don't know, Bulgarian doctor, you may not be allowed automatically to be a doctor in the UK for example. So, again, how can you make sure that people from different countries are well entitled to practice?

3- Due to the volatility of bitcoin, how can you make sure that surgery operation and routine visits are not completely overcharged? That's the main problem of bitcoin so if you know a way to solve it, please share it!

Please, answer these few questions, I will have more. This topic really matters to me, so please explain your projects with further details! Wink
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung is going to support bitcoin on: February 06, 2018, 10:53:28 AM
Hi,

There are many things in your post...

1- What is the hardware? Is it only dedicated to mining? Is it a phone with mining function? If it is only dedicated to mining, then I guess that most people won't hear about it... or just won't care. Because we are all using smartphones but no one (except people on this forum I guess) is looking after strange-expensive-tech materials.

2- Are you aware that in most developped countries the cost of electricity is so high and the miners so numerous that mining is not worth its electricity charge? So actually Samsung can developp whatever they want, I won't buy it. Because it would cost me more that the bitcoin I can get.

3- You say "there are too many users".. Really? Do you really think that the community can be "too big"? I agree with you about the communication part, if this big company makes add about "how to become rich in  a glimpse... Well, it is very bad communication about bitcoin. But if through the device more people get involved in the community, that's great, right? Wink
