101  Other / Meta / Re: Will the Quality Post Really Get Merit? on: September 23, 2018, 03:22:38 PM
A merit can be compared to "like" of face book, twitter and other social medias. But the merit points reserved for us are limited. We can give merit to the person who has a great contribution to the forum such as producing quality post and comment. Smiley Smiley Smiley
Can't believe that there are still some poeple who can't understand the real purpose of Merit after implementing it a couple of months already.

I would rather agree to @franky1's explanation comparing Merit about YouTube's views/likes than this one.
102  Other / Meta / Re: You have been banned by a forum moderator on: September 23, 2018, 02:47:01 PM
You have done something wrong by sending personal messages which is against the rules of bitcoin forum, that is why your account got banned dear.
Nope, that's not the reason. If you will only read other member's replies in this thread and not just the topic, you will found out that OP is banned for Plagiarising.

OP, whoever or what kind of person you are. You are personally and officially banned from this forum.
103  Other / Meta / Re: is there a penalty for the merit giver? on: September 23, 2018, 02:39:03 PM
Abusing Merits or trading it isn't allowed so users who will be caught doing such things will be punish for sure. They will receive Negative Trust, since Merit is not moderated they will not be banned (if my memory serves me right).

Based from the title itself, merit giver won't be punish as long as you distribute your sMerits in different good ways and it is much better to not receive any Merits than to get one from trading it.

Anyway, the answer for your question is too obvious. Making thread for topic like this is unnecessary. Please try to search and read sometimes.
104  Other / Meta / Re: Is it okay to go on as a member without caring so much about merits? on: September 21, 2018, 07:34:58 PM
Is it possible to continue as a bitcointalk member even without trying too hard to achieve a single merit?
Of course, the main reason why those spammers were really trying hard to receive merit is because of their paid signature campaign, they become greedy and they want higher rates. Don't worry about receiving merits, as long as people can find your post interesting and helpful there's a chance that even though you don't need Merits that much, you'll still will receive it.

Does the merit have anything to do with trust ratings?
Other members already answered it above. Just don't miss to read it.

If you ask then what is the purpose of joining here, my answer would be because I would really like to learn about bitcoin and the crypto world so that I could buy bitcoins and altcoins. Thanks! I hope you can enlighten me.
That is actually the real purpose of the forum. As long as you're not violating any rules then just keep doing what you were doing. Merits will come to your way.
105  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's deMerit source application on: September 20, 2018, 10:16:28 AM
those merit abusers that will be caught can received Negative Trust so they can still received enough punishment.
The Merit sender has red trust already, so he doesn't care about more red trust. The Merit receivers can't be blamed, as they can never prove their innocence. That's why I think a demerit is the best solution.
Well, you were right. So after Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements , this idea would be somehow the last request we can ask theymos for now as these two will already solve most of the existing problems. Spammer are already decreasing and abusers will be punish  Cool

Not bad, but abuse can also be avoided by raising the merit requirement. Theymos suggested up to 5, but it could be even up to 10, and then change member requirement to 20 or 50.
Even though the amount of Merit required on each rank increased, there are still a lot of possible merit abuse out there and there will be more. Can you imagine giving 50 Merits to a garbage post? 50 Merits to a one liner posts? It's a total abuse. So deMerit is the best solution.
106  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's deMerit source application on: September 20, 2018, 09:44:03 AM
Interesting, I'm willing to support this idea. Like what I expected, this new requirement to rank up to Jr. Member will surely reduce spam but the possible merit abuse will increase. By looking at that Hero member's merit history, I have doubts that those accounts s/he merited were her/his alt accounts or maybe this Hero member was paid by those spammers. This would really be a serious problem and this deMerit is the possible way to stop these abusers. Well, merit abuse has just getting started, lets expect that there will be more abuse later or sooner.

In the other side, I'm not sure if theymos will approve such idea because having a deMerit source will make the rules too strict, those merit abusers that will be caught can received Negative Trust so they can still received enough punishment. Second, I don't know if this will be implemented immediately, we must wait for a couple of weeks or more before he made a decision about this and apply it, theymos is busy as we can see. But overall, I will provide my support to this idea or else things will get worse, we have now successfully achieved lesser spam forum all that left is those abusers to be gone.
107  Other / Meta / Re: New Ways of Ranking System (Suggestions Only) on: September 18, 2018, 03:13:59 AM
Im suggesting to bring back the old type of ranking system but this time the posts of every members of the forum should be monitored first before it can be converted into "ACTIVITY"
Woah, this is way impossible. There are millions (thousands?) of members here and million of posts are being generated every day and monitoring every one of their posts is a suicide and just a waste of time. How can you come up to idea like this? By just forecasting the possible outcome of your idea well its a total waste of time, really. Moderators can't even stand to monitor and ban other spammers without concerned member's reports and how do you think that they can monitor such millions of posts? Our Moderators are humans, not robots who can can execute millions of codes in just an instant.
Quote
All those "bounty reports and related to it, those non-sense one/two liners, off-topics, super poor english grammar and so on and so forth will be counted as POSTS but it wont be included and counted as an ACTIVITY
Actually, activity is not important to spammers and twitbook hunters. As long as they can post links of their daily reports then they have no problem at all. So even if this one is applied, nothing will change.
108  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 18, 2018, 02:50:39 AM
So what's your Merit image of the day? I think here happened a lot today, good material for memes Smiley
Well here's mine so far. It took me about 10 minutes to finish it.

Oh by the way, this guy looks familiar, seems like I've seen this guy before licking his boobs since 1970 Cheesy
109  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 18, 2018, 01:59:37 AM
I'm about to quote the post to view the image but you are way faster than me. Well, I thought the image contain something special. So lucky I didn't quote it  Grin

Pls can anyone tell me how I can be getting merit on this forum?
Post something useful. No one will give you Merit if you keep posting shits like twitbook links and etc. just like this one..
What a great project with great future
Did you even know that we are working on reporting users who posts like this? By looking at your posts history you have no difference from users I've reported lately.
.... I suggest the merit needed for a junior member to move to member should be reduced to 5. The 10 merits is quite high to come by easily and besides people hardly award merit. So please try and take my suggestion into consideration.
No! It is way much better if the required merits to rank up to Member stays 10 or higher. It is not too hard to achieve 10 Merits if you were posting valuable posts and not twitbook spam links. It is YOU who makes it impossible to receive Merits.
110  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 06:01:21 PM
Oh my god, this is very sad news for me I work here this forum beginning this year February I write many post but unfortunately I have no merit point. I always active this forum and never bad post in this Bitcointalk forum. But today I heard that news my heart is broken. My all work now finished. So now my first target is achieve 1 merit point and become Jr member rank . If I not get 1 merit point my 8 month hard work is now finished.😭😭😭
So you're always active here in the forum since February? Then why you didn't even managed to received any Merit yet? (because you're spamming). About that bold part, are you serious? Because I went through your posts history and all I saw are nothing but spams. You should spend some time visiting your own post history too sometimes.

Spammers doesn't deserved to have a job or earn here. It's your fault for choosing up the wrong way.

Edit.

111  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you a Newbie again? Prove you're a quality poster and i'll give you 1 merit on: September 17, 2018, 05:40:12 PM
If you want to share your remaining sMerits, why don't you just go and look for good posts out there, making a thread about it is unnecessary if you really want to help those newbies.

Anyway, I believed this thread/topic doesn't belong here. Please move it to "Off-topic" by using the "Move topic" button at the lower corner of the thread.
112  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 05:29:51 PM
Meta is getting completely flooded with threads by newbie, it's quite unbelievable. Is still not clear if it looks more like a humanitarian disaster of some sort of aftermath of opening Pandora's box  Shocked
If somebody would put all this effort in one single post they would realize get a merit is not an impossible mission.  Smiley
Well, let's atleast expect it for more couple of days (or weeks) Cheesy

This will be a historical day for spammers just like what happened before the Merit System was implemented back then.
Let's just brace ourselves for more incoming spam threads.
113  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 05:12:44 PM
Finally, I've been waiting for this one. Now, let's see some changes around here. Nice one theymos, you really are the Boss.

I LOST MY SIGNATURE SIR ON CAFECOIN  IN THIS KIND OF ISSUE IM AFFECTED
Wow, that's a good news. Seems like the new restriction is working fine.
Admins!!! What you have done will lead to the fact that now massively will sell merit and who will not share it! Or you are interested in it themselves( to sell merit)? What you have done I believe is illegal! Think again, while the community has not found another forum!!!
There will be definitely a lot of Merit trading will happen, but as long as there are some good members who helps Moderators and the community, we will catch those Merit traders. Oh anyway, what do you mean that it's "illegal"?  Cheesy And what? You're telling theymos to think again? This is a made up decision and I'm sure Admin won't regret anything on implementing it. Also, who cares if spammers go look for another forum? It would be great actually.
What happens to those who makes good posts and yet are unable to get merit points?
Can you give me some examples of those users you were talking about?
Nice development from the admins...i think the junks I keep reading by this newbies everyday will reduced.

P. S: I will appreciate if I can get a merit from anyone, at least to keep my bounty task going.. Thanks in advance 😊
Begging for Merit!
Noted.
However, I feel there's still need for some adjustment to some of these rules.

Regards
Yuph, this new requirement is not yet perfect and need some adjustment, how if instead of 1 Merit to be Jr. Member it should be 5? Much better isn't?
I do understand why this had to be done but I've never spammed.
Have you ever tried to look at your spam posts history?
What a lot of valuable spam posts you got there.
The jr member who was sent to the newbie who is participating in the signature campaign will be stopped or can it continue Huh
It will be stopped obviously, thank goodness.

why i am newbie today when i was jr member yesterday? who is explain me this position?
Oh boy, can't you read?  Cheesy
My posts were not awarded with merit Sad   and I purchased today the rank of Copper Member
It's because none of those 500+ posts deserves a single Merit.
Hi everybody. I am quite surprised about the new rules. Who can help me up jr member ? Thank you.
The only one who can help you is yourself, make valuable post and stop spamming already.

I'm okay with the 30 post maximum, this is too sad for me hearing that they limited the post from 30 to 20 post, anyways, rules are rules, we have to obey it. Smiley
It's really unexpected  Embarrassed But what else can we do with it other than to follow it.
116  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, can we do something for you?? on: September 16, 2018, 04:11:57 AM
How is this thread in any way going to help theymos... just mind your own, let him do his thing, and stop wasting your life trying to help when in reality you're making his life worse.
This thread might not help theymos to solve the problems of our forum quickly but if you read and understand the content of this thread clearly, you'll found out that the thread is created to somehow offer theymos the help of this Forum's community. Anyway, how if you're the one who should just mind your own business, its not your time that will be wasted trying to help the forum so please don't act like you're concerned.

Also, please don't quote the whole thread next time.
117  Other / Meta / Re: Create new account to make revenge. on: September 16, 2018, 03:08:45 AM
I looked at the reference thread and don't speak that language, but it doesn't appear to be any sort of scam happening.
Yuph, I also checked the reference and it contains a guide for what cryptocurrency you should choose to buy (actually the thread somehow deserves to receive Merit), that user clear cookie was just trying to mess up with @clear cookies I guess.

Do not worry and just carry on with your job on reporting people with that kind of action. Plagiarism, abuser, cheater, scammer should be banned and the forum need a lot of people to do a job like you and the others.
I believed that the bold one should be "spammer", if I'm not mistaken scam is not moderated so scammers won't be banned Tongue

He probably reported the user for plagiarism in the "Mod, please check new plagiarism" mega-thread. Just check his post history, he has made a few reports.
Well thanks for bringing this up. I'm just curious how that clear cookie found out that @clear cookies is the one who reported him. But now I know it already.

OP, keep up the good work. You might encounter a lot of people in reporting and some poeple will really hate you and drag you down but don't get affected, they won't be able to do anything against you as long as you're in the right path.
118  Economy / Reputation / Re: A person uses 2 accounts on: September 16, 2018, 02:46:42 AM
First, how can you prove that these accounts were owned by a single person? Providing their eth and bitcoin addresses is not enough evidence.

Second, Moderators cannot ban these accounts if these accounts were not used to cheat in any bounty campaigns. Creating alternative accounts is not prohibited by the forum rules but shouldn't use for cheating.

Third, you should have posted this topic here Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2018 Q3).

Imagine I was mining bitcoin for 24 hours back then  Grin
Those guys before were really so lucky. Now as a regular guy, it will take years before I get 1 Bitcoin in total  Embarrassed

Really had no idea where they spent those Bitcoins, except to that pizza guy before.
120  Other / Meta / Re: Create new account to make revenge. on: September 15, 2018, 10:16:07 AM
Can I ask something? Where did you reported this user? I mean did you reported him/her as spammer or something using the "Report to Moderator" button? Because if yes, how did s/he knew that you're the one who reported him/her? So it's possible that the intention of putting Red feedback on your profile is not a revenge.

Anyway, the feedback won't affect anything to you and your profile. It's obvious that the feedback is a complete nonsense.
