301  Other / Meta / Re: How to remain calm and cool on Bitcointalk ? - Question on: August 05, 2018, 04:54:01 AM
I will provide some reasons why there are always a war between members (usually to Mods and members) and you should avoid these reasons.
1. Spamming - This is the first reason why members can't understand each other its because there are members who are cleaning the forum from spammers but these spammers are not stopping what they were doing. Without unity between spammers and good members, as long as these spammers are not quitting spamming the forum, the war will never end.
2. Creating threads repeatedly (mostly about Merit) - I've noticed that once some noob creates a new thread asking what is Merits etc, an argument will start between OP and the member who replied with it. The lesson I'm telling you here is "Do not create thread/topic if it is already discussed/created before. If you're unsure if the topic already exist, try to use the SEARCH function of the forum".
3. Merit beggars - Mods really hates merit beggars, so if you're planning to be one, it's better to stop your plan immediately.
4. Asking "why I can't receive Merits?"  - If you're a spammer or twitbook bounty report spammer with almost all post are links to facebook, twitter etc. Don't expect that you will receive any Merits. Making a thread asking why you can't receive merit will only make Mods activate their "Beast" mode. I'm afraid that also some members who will get annoyed to the thread.
5. Spamming Meta Section - there are several members here who really hates when spammers spammed Meta section (include me and seoincorporation). Meta is one of the remaining section who had good discussions and we won't let spammers just wander around and spam.
6. Asking obvious questions - it's obvious that this should be avoided.
7. Violating forum rules then complaining about the reason they get banned - If you knew that you violated a rule like plagiarism, etc. Then don't ask why you get banned. It's pretty obvious. You will just annoy Moderators.

Also I noticed this..
8. Applying for campaigns without reading the rules.
9. Posting "Good projects, interesting project"  Cheesy
10. Etc....

303  Local / Pamilihan / Re: New Pinoy Paid To Post Forum with Crypto Currency Section on: August 03, 2018, 10:07:29 AM
I like the intention of your community to help Filipino citizens to earn money but, where do you get such huge amount of money to pay your members? Most of the user here already asked this but I'm not yet satisfied with the answer.

I can be a good poster for your community but, I still have some hesitations.
304  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Wallets (Tagalog) on: August 03, 2018, 09:46:41 AM
Mga sir ano po ang ma-isa sugest nio sa beginner na wallet para mag hold ng matagal ng bitcoin ang gusto ko kasi mag store sa safe keep sa ngayon ang naiisip kong gamitin ay Ledger Nano S.
Hi buddy, since you're a newbie I want you to learn more about what is Bitcoin wallets. After reading the thread I'm sure you will learn a lot. Well, for your question, if you want to use an Application Bitcoin wallet, I may suggest you to use either which one of these as I already used them and they are really Newbie friendly.
  • Coins.ph - Since you're a Filipino and I'm sure you're here in the Philippines, am I right? Then you can use this wallet. It is so convenient and can easily cash out-cash in money easily through Cebuana, Mlhuilier etc..
  • Green Address - I also suggest this wallet. I recently used this because it is segwit enabled wallet and is also convenient. But not like coins.ph, you cannot cash out/in your balance easily as it doesn't support it.
  • Mycelium - is a best choice too.
  • Electrum - I also just used this because its segwit enabled. But it's for advanced users

Overall, I really recommend coins.ph  Wink

If you're planning for Ledger Nano S well it's a good choice. But it will surely costs lot of money.
305  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Merit abused on: August 03, 2018, 09:30:48 AM
The best way to do now is to let them abuse their Merits because I'm pretty sure that not too long, they will face their punishments. If you guys see anyone abusing Merits, it is much better to create a thread in reputation section about the abuse. What important for now is YOU guys are NOT abusing anything.

It's a relief that those guys are now punished, by reading their names, they are really untrustworthy and seems like green mindeds. Guys, Filipinos reputation is getting way too low in this forum. Although there are lot of Filipinos who didn't listen and follow the rules, I want to have trust with you guys who were contributing in the forum to make Filipino reputation rise again. Let's help each other to improve and to prove that our country is not a place for shitposters/rules violators. I know there are still a lot of good members and is proud to say that "I'm a Filipino". We are the only hope left to change our community. Don't be like those guys who were abusing Merit and the Forum.

~snip
You're right that there are really a lot of people who were too greedy and only thinks about earning money. But we can easily recognise those people. All I want to say is, there are still some people left here in our local board who is doing well and deserves to receive Merits. We Filipino doesn't have Merit Source yet and there are some posts here which I believed they deserved Merit but receives only few Merits and not enough to award their effort.

Only you and Dabs are the only two respected members who can act as a Merit Source for Philippines Section for now so please, I'm sure that these people who were doing good won't become your pain in the head even though they ranked up. That's why I'm asking to you to award these people's effort for creating good contents with some Merit which they deserved Smiley

If I only have enough Merit to award them, I won't hesitate to. Giving these people Merit will encourage them to make good contributions more. In that case they will avoid doing bad things like abusing Merits (which only happens because they can't receive merits, I wish this wouldn't happen to good posters who don't receive enough Merits), spamming ( once a member received merit from his/her posts, I'm sure that this person will be encouraged to create more informative contents) and etc..

306  Other / Meta / Re: Last edit preview? on: August 03, 2018, 08:41:31 AM
I do not understand what you mean? Want to preview posts when posting? I'm afraid that there is no such mode for you. Lol
Sometimes, you should try to read other member's reply, not just the title and the OP's thread. mdayonliner already explained what OP means and it is just above your reply. Let me quote it for you Smiley

What I understand is, you mean an edit history visible to public. At the moment I guess only mod/admin can see edit history, not sure though. Publicly it's not available however I think it should be publicly available too.

I experienced the need for this when I had a hard time (I am still suffering) going on with a member. He kept changing his previous posts (without keeping reference most of the time) where he could easily correct his contents on the new comments. Editing older posts (which already responded based on your previous content) without reference actually can change the whole point of view of a conversation. It's mislead the new readers and they actually find it hard to get connection of the conversations.

You can't check if the post is edited or not via a Mobile browser.
Not true. You can still see if it's edited or not. The dotted line is still visible in mobile browser (Google Chrome) but not sure in other browsers. But i guess it's all the same.
Example.

307  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT!!! Lost 0.08 BTC [Please stay safe] on: August 02, 2018, 07:56:24 AM
I've been in Meta too much and didn't even pay a visit here in Scam Accusation. I won't be able to find this out if I didn't stalked at your profile  Tongue By the way I'm sorry for you loss mdayonliner, I'm proud of you because even though this scammer scammed you, you still pray for this guy's sake. Well, there's nothing I can do as well than to wish that yishak return the amount of Bitcoin he stole even if it takes a couple of months. I never had such amount of Bitcoin and if I'm the owner, I'd rather go crazy than to pray for the guy. Anyway, wishing you luck Buddy.

308  Other / Meta / Re: Fake conversations - same users - on different ICOs on: August 02, 2018, 07:01:43 AM
So you mean there is no such a thing called Merit abuse, enlighten me? Because I always believed those "some people" that you mentioned are the major contributors to spammers/shitposters/underworld bounty freaks to rank up and do what they actually do with greater effect, clogging the threads with their bounty reports and bumping threads.

They can do whatever with their Merits. But if they couldn't find any constructive and quality post, so be it without giving oxygen to those shills.
There are people giving Merits to any post they want as they don't really care about Merits. Although "Yes" we can say that some are considered as "Merit Abuse" at some point, but not all of them. Not because someone gave Merit to a ANN thread doesn't mean it's an abuse. To make this more clearer, providing evidences is the greatest way to prove your theory Smiley
309  Other / Meta / Re: Editing and deleting comments. Great option for cheaters. on: August 02, 2018, 06:03:51 AM
Why we should use other sites when Bitcointalk Administration can easily prevent it?
It's just in case of emergency, it's still better to have your own evidence of a particular suspicious page than to wait for Administrators to provide evidences. Sometimes it is necessary to do something than to just sit down and wait for things to be solved.

Like what I said, since I don't really know if Admins can have a copy of edited messages /replies, it is much better to use Archive.fo to save a copy. Quoting the message/reply is a good idea too but other members can also edit the content of the particular reply so it means someone else can also be able to change its contents.

Well I think I'm right, after doing some research I found out this reply from theymos that might give you some idea.
Quote
Can admins see editing history of a post?

Yes, though it's a bit of a hassle.

There's currently no history of profile fields, though, so you definitely can't rely on your signature or anything like that.
310  Other / Meta / Re: Editing and deleting comments. Great option for cheaters. on: August 02, 2018, 05:47:01 AM
But what if scammer edit his comments at first and after that delete them?
I'm not really sure if the message/reply before it was edited is saved and can be retrieve by Mods and Admin but, the best way to have evidences for now is to archive the page if there are any suspicious information that you think might get edited soon.
311  Other / Meta / Re: All bounty hunters are from Philippines?? (PROOF) on: August 02, 2018, 05:38:42 AM
I understand why there are so many people here in the Philippines doing everything they can just to earn money. I know that some of them are already abusing the forum and some are earning money even it's in a bad way. Because actually I'm experiencing the same way how they live. But behind all of these, I still can't resist to understand why they are doing such things,  what they were doing makes me think that it's too bad, but also so sad.

I don't know how to defend my countrymens after seeing the spreadsheet, but as a Filipino, I would like to defend the remaining good members and the name of my country from people who were judging it. Yeah, the spreadsheet proves that there are really a lot of bounty hunter from Philippines and you are free to say that too many shitposters are from Philippines but can anyone assure that we are all the same? English is not our native language but it makes me laugh whenever a Filipino beats a Native English Speaker.

By the way OP, is it right to say to your topic's title that "All bounty hunters are from Philippines?" Smiley
I will not disagree that's it is right if there are no other participants from other countries.

Although there are lot of Filipino who were hunting bounties, guys please, don't forget that there are still some Filipino who were doing good contributions for the forum also at some general discussions. I'm afraid that you might forget that there are still some people from Philippines who are good part of this community.

Of course they will flood this forum. They live on dirt floors with no running water, they can make a fortune on this forum compared to their normal wages.
Watch your tongue buddy Smiley You don't need to say that.
~snip
There are a lot of people in the Philippines that speak a high level of English. A lot of call centers that service English speaking countries all over the world are based in the Philippines.
Thanks man.

If anyone doesn't believe that people from Philippines are really good at speaking English. I'm pretty sure that Google will give you some result  Wink

Or just read this article...
"Well, people will now have to think twice before mocking Filipinos’ use of the English language since according to a study by GlobalEnglish Corporation, the Philippines was named the world’s best country in business English proficiency, in not just one but two consecutive years. GlobalEnglish releases an annual report called Business English Index (BEI)the only index that measures business English proficiency in the workplace."

Nothing much to say Smiley

312  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 02, 2018, 04:31:26 AM
The colors give a terrible impression. How can a red report be "good" ?  Grin
Why do you think colors are terrible?
But you can see such colors in every country, for example traffic lights have like these one.
And what colors are good for you?
Actually I agree with xtraelv, red was never been used in any kind of Good situation IMO. As you know, color red was always used in some bad situation or condition just for example is in our devices battery percentage indicator. When the status of battery is good it is in green color and turns red when it's in critical condition. Same as in danger zones, red was used as a sign. Now my question is why do you chose Red as the color of the "Good report Badge"? You can use green instead.

I prefer using these color arrangements.
5000 good report       1000 good report     300 good report

If we will total all posts, its about 4000+ posts where made in CryptOcean by these accounts excluding other members who support CryptOcean.
Though I'm not so sure if all posts were really made in CryptOcean but if you guys will check their posts history, you will see "CryptOcean" in every pages of their history.
315  Other / Meta / Re: The most polite user of Bitcointalk on: August 01, 2018, 10:08:17 AM
Talking about politeness. Can you see my politeness points under my avatar  Tongue

Well, the user is somehow genius, by using "Thank you" instead of "Good project, Interesting project" posts, reporters wont notice that s/he is spamming unless you check the user's post history. Too bad, because of being too polite, s/he just end up being reported and will be banned soon for sure.

By the way I agree with The Pharmacist. Maybe Admin could give him/her another chance to change his/her username to "Thank you sir", but of course his account will remain banned because someone here already made a pretty good move.
Just report one of his posts (I just did):
Code:
Insubstantial post: This guy spams "Thank you" everywhere. Pleaes check his post history.
+1 Good Report  Tongue
316  Other / Meta / Re: Fake conversations - same users - on different ICOs on: August 01, 2018, 05:25:09 AM
I also think ColorlessK is the co-founder of bountyhive.io and no surprise, look at his Merit stats. That tells the story Cheesy. He got all the Merits from last 120 days only for the ANN threads. I called this is another way of Merit abuse.

BTW who is the other one?
Actually it's not really a Merit abuse. There are some people that instead of giving out their Merit to constructive and quality posts, they give it at nonsense ANN threads. But who knows?

xtraelv, I think this thread belongs to Reputation? Or I'm just mistaken.

When it comes to reporting - I'm not sure which rules they have broken.
I think this is the rule that they break.
Quote
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.

By the way, I think Moderators should do something to these accounts since it is spamming the forum and are just shills.
317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for a job that pays bitcoin on: August 01, 2018, 05:10:15 AM
What kind of job do you want and what kind of job can you do? Can you specify your skills like if you're a Webpage developer /designer or something? And I believe this thread belongs to Services. Also try to visit Services section, there are lot of job offers in there that can pay you Bitcoins or Dollars. There are some people looking for web page designers, programmers etc. If you are familiar with Bbcodes and you can make design using it you can be a Signature designer and I'm sure you will get a pretty good income, but take note that it depends on how good your designs is.

Here are some links that might give you some idea about bbcodes.

If you're not interested on these, like what I said please visit Services section.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Security..... on: August 01, 2018, 04:51:45 AM
This has been discussed multiple times in Meta aection. But let me give you my opinion. Actually the security of this forum is totally secured. No one can hack your account unless those hackers already got your password. The safety of your account depends on how you take good care of your private information such as passwords and of course avoiding malicious sites than can compromised your account.

These "hacked accounts" issues lately are not actually hackers hacked your friends account. I'm pretty sure that they are just victim of Phishing which only happens if you went to a malicious website or fake website of Bitcointalk which is the owner's fault. A lot of members are already here years ago even me and as you can see, we didn't encountered such security issues. All I'm telling is the security of the forum is working fine and there's no much problem about it. About the 2fa, it would be a great idea. But Admin has some reasons why not implementing it (who knows, time will come and it will be implemented).

Just let me give you these advice to avoid being hacked.
  • Make sure that your password is strong that uses a combination of Capital letters and numbers not just password like "123456789", but it's up to you.
  • Don't just click unknown links especially sent through PM from unknown users.
  • Use some trusted third party security like Malwarebytes, it will help you detect some hidden virus from your pc that may cause to get your personal information and it also detects phishing sites.
  • This is obviously, Don't just give your password to anybody.
  • Take good care of your account.

These are just some tips to make your account secured. There are still a lot of ways to do to enhance security.

One more thing, be careful when filling up Airdrops forms. I have some feeling that they're putting phishing on them and usually the victims are Bounty hunters. If you're a bounty hunter, then you know what to do.
319  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing Achievements on: July 31, 2018, 06:24:38 AM
We don't need badges for numbers that are clearly visible and need no interpretation.  As I said in another thread, using an icon in place of a word or number is just silly to me, and activity, merit, posts, and whether someone is a global mod--those are all things written clearly right near the avatar.  Badges would just muck things up IMO.

As far as the reporter badge goes, I have mixed feelings about it.  I don't think reporting ought to be a competition, which is what it'd turn out to be.  And all the other proposed badges are just more things stupid shitposting noobs will be jealous of and wonder why they're not earning them.  Then they'll create threads in Meta asking why they don't have these badges....I would predict those things and more, because it's still happening with merits all the time.
Well, I lost all my confidence to support this idea after reading your reply which seems to be right and yeah, I think it's really stupid. I just don't know what comes to my mind to create such idea. It's really a waste of time also if will be implemented as it will take a lot of time to apply to the forum.

And I don't want to be the reason for those shitposters to ask multiple questions about badges here in Meta. I realised that even Merit System is not yet moving on from these shitposters.

Well, I don't need any more feedbacks for now. I'm now locking the thread before people get mad at me/my thread. Thanks for reading and for all of your replies.

~snip
Sorry but I won't answer any further replies now. Locking the thread.

There are two open slots, as clearly stated in the title and on the spreadsheet, none of which are for you because your post quality consists of two sentence posts on spam megathreads.

You still don't get it? Smiley

You asked in your first post if there are slot available for Sr. Member. It only means you're not reading Smiley Got it now? or I still need to explain more?
