201  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 28, 2018, 03:16:30 PM
I can't really imagine anyone having more than 50% bad reports.
I can't also imagine if someone's having over 50% of bad reports. That's a horrible way of reporting if that happens. Well if this happens after the implementation of the badges, its too obvious that the reason is they're just trying to report just to get the badges without even thinking if the post/thread they are reporting were really deserves to be reported to Moderators which will be another problem for Moderators as it will be a tons of work to do.

Anyway, I still believe that our Moderators can handle it.

I'll probably add it next week sometime.
What happened to this statement?
This statement is now resting in peace.
202  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: August 28, 2018, 04:37:13 AM
I'm wayyyy late to the party
Actually the party is just about to start as Admin theymos is still not releasing any updates about the badges. It's been weeks already but seems like Admin is terribly busy at some business IRL these days or he's working on the badges. Well either way, let's just wait for his update. Just keep in touch so you won't be late  Wink
203  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SUGGESTIONS FOR LOCAL BOARD - [MUST READ] 🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: August 27, 2018, 08:22:10 AM
I think he/she is referring to what joniboni's suggestion on what he does in their local section with the mandate of their moderators.
Yuph, that must be it. I admire how Moderators in Indonesia local board takes part to their community. As I can see, their local board are well Moderated and cooperating with other members who wanted to improve their section and @joniboini is one of those good members who were trying to improve their local board. I don't really know the exact reason why we still don't have a bit of response from our Mods but I'm thinking that maybe they're just busy or something.

I already made a thread in Meta discussing about this problem in our local board and now we already have a thread here in local board (which is this thread) but seems like our Mods still have no response at all. I don't know why but I can assure that one (or both?) of our local moderator already visited this thread because one of my post here has been deleted before (but it really deserves to be deleted as it adds nothing to the discussion).
By the way here it is.

Please, no need to quote the whole thread. It's unpleasant to read.

I'm afraid that our Moderators don't really want to give any response from their side. But thinking positively, they will respond here soon.

Edit.
Maybe @jacee can help is reach our Moderators. I don't know how and why but I feels like he/she can do something to help us.
204  Other / Meta / Re: Why bctalk accounts are getting hacked? on: August 27, 2018, 02:27:09 AM
Did you even read the link I posted?
Yeah I did.
I've read the topic about this secret question in the link you have provided
But didn't read several replies as the OP already gave me the information I'm looking for. Anyway thanks for the info.
Don't worry... follow this
Thanks @mdayonliner.
205  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] 🔥IOU Signature Campaign | Member - Hero | 0.0007 BTC /Post 🔥 on: August 26, 2018, 07:44:09 AM
Why are his post so bad?
@Thekool1s was right. By just posting posts in Megathreads is simply a way of posting shitposts. Just like what I saw in your post history Smiley
Any place for newbie?
Please read the OP first before asking. Thanks.
206  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Paano ba tayo mag karon ng bagong child board? on: August 26, 2018, 07:19:37 AM
Moderators have no ability to create a Sub/Child board. Only Admins are capable of creating such boards in the forum as they are the only one who have access to the back end of the forum. If you want another Sub/Child board to be added here in our local board. You have to either request to our Moderators by sending them PM or creating a thread with the topic containing contents that answers what, why, and where questions or by making a thread in Meta to ask our forum Admins about another Sub/Child board.

But either way, I can't guarantee that it will be confirmed as it will take a lot of process first before implementing. You must specify as much as possible reasons why you want another sub board and a lot more of work. It's not easy like what you think.
207  Other / Meta / Re: Why bctalk accounts are getting hacked? on: August 26, 2018, 06:17:34 AM
Spoiler: NO. No one can access your account with just the secret answer. This will only lock your account - as explained in the previous page. Please read the whole thread before making a new post.
I never tried/used secret password and I don't plan to use it for unknown reasons but if no one can access your account by just using it, why it says "To help retrieve your password, enter a question here with an answer that only you know. Using this feature is not recommended. Anyone who guesses your secret answer will have access to your account. It's like a second password."

It means anyone who can guess it will have access to the account because it's like a second password and is used to retrieve the account. I'm really confused which one to believe. But I don't want to try it myself.

But actually, I've set a secret question in my account before. I just forgot what's the answer  Huh

I've read the topic about this secret question in the link you have provided in the first page but I'm just wondering why the description says different. Well I believe you now as there are several members who already tested it out.
208  Other / Meta / Re: Why bctalk accounts are getting hacked? on: August 25, 2018, 10:21:34 PM
I'm also wondering why there are still issues about hacked account excluding those accounts that has been hacked in that database leak back in 2015. I mean, are they too careless?

I'm thinking that maybe some bounties also contains phishing. Some bounties requires a some sort of "google form" where applicants must fill up first and it's possible that some of those forms are phishing. As we can see, most of those reported accounts that has been hacked are participating bounties.

- Don’t click on links posted on this forum
That would definitely avoid phishing links  Cheesy but not all links posted in this forum are phishing. I prefer "Checking the link first before clicking it" since some links are useful and some are obviously not phishing.
I hardly believe the number of people using a weak password is so hight
Yeah, people would be so stupid to put "123455789" or "qwerty" etc as their password. Though some really do  Grin

I'm taking good care of my account, I'm checking links before I click them, I'm not logging in to any public PC or someone else's phone and I'm using a strong password, lets just see if my account will still be hacked in the future. But I'm hoping I will not happen.

My additional tip is to avoid joining bounties/airdrops or check their form first before putting information or clicking the link. It's really possible that some phishing links are from other bounties/airdrops.

Is anyone ever think of that?

There are more accounts hacked with a low rank than a hight one
It's probably because I'm right that most of these accounts are participating bounties where some bounties contains phishing.
209  Other / Meta / Re: Administer Theymos And Cyrus Please see my reply on: August 25, 2018, 06:41:00 AM
Actually you don't need to post your problem one by one here in Meta, it looks like spam now. You should have compiled all of those complaints of yours then post it in a single thread or why don't you just add this up to your recent topic. I'm wondering what kind of complain you are going to make with a new thread again.

I understand the lack of moderator in your local board but this should have been done by what @Steamtyme said.

I'm also wondering if OP really is a Newbie or just somebody pretending to be a Newbie and will recommend his/her main account to be a Moderator of Bengali. It's vague but not impossible. Just my thoughts anyway.
210  Other / Meta / Re: [Account Alexis is Hacked] Please restore account on: August 25, 2018, 02:42:33 AM
A little off-topic, can I ask what the reason why your account hacked? I mean, I've just noticed a lot of members reporting that their account were hacked but what's the main possible reason? Did you accidentally visit a Phishing site or something? Or someone just guessed your password?  In my opinion, the possible reason is because of Phishing sites but I can't really understand why there are still a lot of people that is too careless and still getting a victim of these frauds.

Anyway, @ranochigo already provided the link to what you should do to get your account back.
211  Other / Meta / Re: Only Administer Theymos And Cyrus Please see my post on: August 25, 2018, 02:25:43 AM
For the time being, the best solution up till now is removing the signature space from the Junior Member to the Newbie rank, or adding a merit requirement to be a Junior Member
It will be much more better if both are implemented. Merit required to rank up to Jr. Member while their signature is unaccessible.
Yeah it is kinda unrealistic, but imagine if the caliber of all manager is like DarkStar_ , Yahoo62278, Lutpin, Lauda, and all other excellent managers.
I would like to include Zapo who's been doing a very good job as a Manager since the beginning of BQT and IOU campaign. Sometimes I really wish that every manager become as responsible as he is, but it's way too far from the reality and we all know that.

I'm not sure how we could go about this. I guess, only allowing copper members from making a bounty thread? Again, they won't care for paying a small fee, because the bounties generate a lot of noise for their project, and they end up profiting from it anyway. So, I'm not sure what the best option would be.
I'm thinking about the same idea but how if we implement a new account membership which will be required to make a bounty thread instead of using copper membership? Of course this new account membership will cost bigger fee than copper. But I'm sure that they can still scam people even though what kind of membership their account has.

I'm also thinking of a different way where an ICO or project and Manager etc. will be reviewed by a Moderator that will be assigned on this task (assuming that we add Mods for this task) before the ICO manager make/create a bounty thread. There are hundreds (thousands?) of bounty being created that's why this will take a lot of time and will be a difficult job for the assigned Mod for sure but will somehow avoid/stop suspicious ICO in launching the bounties here in Bitcointalk. Just my stupid suggestion.
212  Other / Meta / Re: Spamming? on: August 24, 2018, 09:33:41 AM
We can't tell that a user is a spammer just because he/she is the last member who posted in almost all threads unless we see his/her posts. By looking at this user's post history, I can "a hundred percent" tell that this user is spamming speculation and just posting for signature.

Nice catch, it is clear that this user is abusing and spamming the forum. Anyway, have you tried to report this guys already? I rarely visit speculation but I'm sure that I will also notice it if I ever I visit it.
213  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated threads, option to leave a comment when deleting messages. on: August 24, 2018, 09:06:41 AM
Well, I like the idea as well. There are lot of Newbies (and other members) who were complaining and blaming Moderators because of their post being deleted. Sometimes, not all deleted posts are done by Moderators, some of them are deleted by the Author of the thread which is a self-moderated topic and I'm sure that's the reason why some of the deleted posts don't have any PMed message saying "A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator.... and so on" to the users but some are really deleted by Moderators without any notice because their posts are included when a thread is deleted.

By granting the Author of a self-moderated thread to leave a comment of why a particular post was deleted will also prevent other members to make repeatedly thread here in Meta asking why their posts were deleted and also will make them realise what they did wrong.

So, it seems like there's nothing bad will happen when this one is applied in the Forum. I'd like to support this one.

But one more thing. I would like to add this.
When a post/reply was deleted. There must be a default message that will tell the user that their post was deleted in this "example thread"  by "example member", just like when a moderator deletes a post/reply. The Author can change/modify the default message if they'd like to.

Edit.
>...<
Based on the image you've provided (this one)

What will happen if I choose the "Do Not Delete Message" option and then click the "Delete this message button"?  Roll Eyes

Edit.
It's just a suggestion. That "Do Not Delete Message" option is unnecessary in this case.
Oh thanks, that enlightened me. I thought it has some special functions. Smiley
214  Economy / Services / Re: Copper member selling signature space, will sell for cheap. on: August 24, 2018, 12:01:25 AM
There's nothing special in your account even though it's a copper. There are lot of copper members here, some are legendary, hero and Sr. Member but still they are getting rejected sometimes as they are just the same with regular members.
If you only knew, the copper membership only makes you post images and etc. that a regular newbie cannot do. Nothing so special at all.

Also, no newbie is allowed to join any signature campaign. You will be so lucky if ever you find one and who do you think you are to join campaign with a newbie rank? Except if you're a extraordinary poster like nullius who can make posts that will surpass the quality of higher members.

My suggestions is, if you want to join campaigns then make quality posts and make good contributions in the forum so that you'll be able to rank up. When you reach Member rank, I'm sure that you can participate in some campaigns. But if you went in the wrong path which is "spamming", you will end up banned although you're a copper. Membership of account will not save you from any consequences of violating rules.
are there any active campaigns taking copper?
Copper membership is not the basis or requirement to join in any campaign. It is based on the rank and quality posts of the account.
You can find campaigns that accepts coppers but accepts regular members as well.

Ok, thank you sir!

I will start trying to make quality posts.  Grin
Good, then I will be looking forward for that. And please don't call me Sir, just a buddy or mate will be fine Smiley
215  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] 🔥IOU Signature Campaign | Member - Hero | 0.0007 BTC /Post 🔥 on: August 23, 2018, 11:33:30 PM
@craked5

I will save Zapo the trouble, Mate your post quality is absolute shit!! Don't bother, Try your luck in the bounties section. Wink
Oops, indeed  Tongue Zapo is really doing a great job for choosing participants.

and what is the reason as per you?
Now you know  Tongue
216  Other / Meta / Re: Merit abuse clusters on: August 23, 2018, 06:20:45 PM
OP should have posted this in there instead of creating a thread here in Meta.

Anyway, for me seems like all of them are a hundred percent Merit Abuse. I checked all the Merited posts and I don't think that any of those posts deserves to receive such a massive amount of Merits. Merit is not moderated as far as I know but let us wait for Moderators to say something about this.

I can see that shining future is not far away, by considering the way Merit system works,
Its the opposite here, even though the system is working fine. I still can't see this "shinning future" as it is still covered with a crowd of shitposters.
217  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] 🔥IOU Signature Campaign | Member - Hero | 0.0007 BTC /Post 🔥 on: August 23, 2018, 05:50:59 PM
Good job manager Zapo I appreciate your work and being active, no delay in payment. Smiley
Even though the payment takes some delay, we have nothing to worry about as the Manager will take care of it soon  Wink
What a nice campaign Manager. By the way, I confirm that I received week 2 payment. Just like first week, it's a smooth transaction and looking forward for the 3rd week.

Baoo, ArkiCrypto, joniboini are kicked because getting red tagged.
Just a clarification about this false information. First of all @joniboini and @Baoo are not kicked from the campaign, they left. Also they didn't received any Negative Trust. Where do you get this information? By the way seems like ArkiCrypto is really guilty for selling accounts and been painted by Red.

I do not ask you a reason why me rejected. The question is: can I try for BQT signature campaign?
I don't think that you'll get accepted in BQT campaign as well as it is also been managed by Zapo and looks like I know the reason why you get rejected Smiley
Anyway, who knows? Just like what Zapo said,
Apply to find out!
218  Other / Meta / Re: my account has been banned on: August 23, 2018, 10:39:06 AM
If this is the reason .. Will my account remain forever suspended because I did this little thing !!!

It's not a "little thing" actually it's a Big Deal. And yes your account will remain banned forever and there's no exception even though you're the president of the United States.
Quote

i work at translation bounty .. you can check my work .. that will be stop all my job
Then this is the end of your job here. You better find a real job in real life. You're not even allowed to create an account here anymore nor to post. Please leave the forum without hard feelings. This is a friendly advice.
219  Local / Pilipinas / Re: BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS on: August 23, 2018, 10:31:28 AM
It would be better if you cite all the possible application that can cause cryptojacking in android phones to spread awareness among our people.
That's a great idea but I think it will be too difficult to find those app that were containing cryptojacking. Nowadays, there are lot of pretty good apps usually when it comes to games as it attracts users to download and use it. Who knows if one of our app in our android contains cryptojacking? We can say that our apps doesn't have cryptojacking but we can't assure either. I'm afraid that even trusted android app developers will also come up to this kind of fraudulent.
Quote
I have read a recent article that League of Legends an PC online game had spreaded cryptojacking in most of the pc platform. If I am not mistaken the issue haven been solved tho I am not that updated when it comes to pc gaming lol.
I've heard one too. The last PC application I heard that were using cryptojacking is Garena. I can't believe that one of the most popular and trusted app for gamers has also became a fraud. Though, the developers claimed that they doesn't know anything about it and maybe one of them put it secretly. Visit this thread for more discussions.
220  Other / Meta / Re: Why locking threads which are actually helpful? on: August 23, 2018, 10:03:35 AM
I've seen that one of my concern fellow citizens finaleshot2016  made a thread about this issue in our local board but seems like we're still having no response from our respected Mods. Maybe they're just busy but they should have responded to it already by now. Looks like they don't want to resolve this problem that we member were facing. A simple response of their reasons will be enough but still waiting for any actions.
