Look kids, all you do is just copy and paste a post from earlier on in a spam mega thread and get paid for it! Can you believe it? Do this with your 12 alt accounts each and we'll be able to afford a Lamborghini by Christmas!
This is funny  Grin but this can be reality. I just can't stop laughing how their parents trick their kids so that they can afford a Lamborghini by spamming Bitcointalk. If I were the kid, I prefer to be inspired when my parents tell me that they will buy a chocolate than Lambo  Tongue

Kids will only ask, "can I play with that giant toy car?" then the parents will sa NO and the kids will threatened their parents that they won't make posts anymore. End of spammers.

262  Other / Meta / Re: Why locking threads which are actually helpful? on: August 14, 2018, 08:50:07 AM
As for this rule (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2006619.0), I think Philippines members should discuss it further with their mods. I think the main sub-board should not be exclusively about Bitcoin, finance or crypto, but also include anything related to this forums. Because it doesn't make sense to me when you are not allowed to post and discuss this forum in general (anything about merits, a guide to get merits and etc, especially if you don't understand English) in your own local board. I believe this is the reason why the Local board is created.

But of course, the Philippines community & mod should decide it by themselves.
Indeed. Local boards should not only discuss topics related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies etc. Other important general discussion must be considered too as our community (local board) also needs it.
I believe that every local board was made to discuss topics regarding Bitcoin and other discussions about the forum using their native language. I'm just concerned in our local board where good discussions about the Forum are getting locked just because it's not a Crypto related topic.

@joniboini, I like the way how those guides etc. in your local board are being kept as all of them are compiled in one thread and pinned. The only reason why I ask for those threads to be open is because they're not either pinned so how can our fellow citizens be able to read it? Somehow, Yes, of course they still can but it's only if they will visit about page 2, 3 or 4 of our local board where those threads will be located which supposed to be in the first page of it.
263  Other / Meta / Re: What Feature you think should've added in bitcointalk? on: August 14, 2018, 08:34:27 AM
Ban every user with this name: "Dig Bicks", immediately. It will be awesome for the forum.
I kinda like the idea too.
Quote
Besides, at least one merit to become JR.
I prefer to make it 2, 3, 4 or 5, so that Dig Bicks won't be able to rank up immediately as he already got 1 Merit. Yeah, sounds good to me.

Here are some of my suggestions Smiley
-Add "=" in the "insert hyperlink" so that we won't need to add it manually.
-Automatically ban users/accounts who posts "Good project, Interesting project, Nice project" posts.
-2 to 5 Merits required to rank up to Jr. Member.
-Limit newbies posts per day to e.g 5 to 10 posts per day.
-Requires captcha in order to make a thread or post in Newbie rank.
-Sorting function in every thread with an option of "show top Merited posts/replies".
-Stays in the thread instead of going back to the main section when done reporting to moderator.
264  Other / Meta / Re: Why locking threads which are actually helpful? on: August 14, 2018, 12:03:54 AM
I think that those threads were locked because technically they are not about Bitcoin.
I agree to @harizen, that's one of my reasons why I made this thread. It's to have some clarifications Smiley
It's true that it's off-topic or not related to Bitcoin but those are good threads and supposed to have on going discussions. If the case is "All off-topic must be lock" then it's too unfair that there are still too many nonsense topics that are still open.

Keeping spam discussions open than those threads I mentioned is totally unfair. I want a simple explanation why Smiley

Quote

\Maybe we can keep these threads open if there will be a sub section on our local where we can discuss forum matters?
Implementing a new sub-section in our local board for these threads is a good idea but is a lot of work than to just open those helpful threads which will only have the same result IMHO.

Edit.
Those are a lot of good threads, any Merit Source applicant for Philippines will use it for sure as they are good enough to fit the requirements. Just four more good topics and anyone might think that I'm applying for Merit Source.
265  Other / Meta / Why locking threads which are actually helpful? on: August 13, 2018, 10:30:32 AM
I just noticed some different behavior in our local board lately (Philippine Local Board) and I need some clarification from Mods why is this happening. Recently, I've read some discussions in my local board saying that "why some of our threads in there are getting locked?", it made me think that, "Yeah why?" . There are several good discussions there and helpful threads that supposed to be open and pinned but they are already locked now and being buried by other nonsense topics.

These are my fellow member's conversation that they also noticed this different behaviour from our local.
As a relatively new member, I have also wondered why some posts that are indeed helpful get locked-- even though I don't really see a reason why. However, the moderators may have their own reasons, but still, I find it weird all the same.
~snip

See, even a Jr. member notice this activity in our local. Thanks for being observant and I hope that all of the members should also observe what's happening in here. ~snip
Hmm, I also noticed this kind of activity in our local section especially some post from theyoungmillionaire, CatchSomeAirdrops, Thirio, yazher and you have been locked causing it to be found in the middle page of our section thus making it hard to find and read. Every day there are lots of new registrants of members here and they tend to ask a question which has been answered a million times, we cannot spoonfeed all the answers they want, that is why it is better to leave all the useful posts open from replies to make it appear always in the 1st - 2nd pages of the local section. Here are some suggestions that might work.
~snip

I don't know who's responsible for this, is it our Local Board Mods? But the question is why locking helpful and good threads? While there are lot of nonsense topics that still open right now. The question is why?

Please @theymos, our local board need some changes and some help. We are already lacking of Merit sources and locking these good threads will be just an additional problem. It is Filipinos long problem there, but no one has the guts to open a discussion here about what is really happening in our local board because they're probably afraid. Well, about our local board's Merit Source, @cwrth is the only member who is capable for the responsibility for now.

theyoungmillionaire is one of the top Merited member from our local board and he/she has contributed a lot in our local, also known as the "Silent Hero" because he/she encouraged and motivated other members to make quality posts using his/her inspiring threads but why even those threads are locked? 2 of the helpful topics I'm talking about are theyoungmillionaire and Thirio's thread and 1 from finaleshot2016 and edsnowangel.

Here are the locked threads and it's up to you to judge whether it's really helpful or not. Take note that these are written in "Tagalog". These are just simple threads but they contains a lot of good information and the discussions are also pretty well. I vote to keep these threads open and pinned Smiley

Locking these threads is also one reason why some of our local board's members missed to read those helpful guidelines. Yeah, our local board already provided all the guides that may help and enlighten our citizens but since they are locked and buried with a lot of trash discussions, it's kinda useless now.

Just check this guy who recently posted in our local board. He/she just realised that there are good discussions and helpful threads in our local, it only means other member didn't know that these threads exist, it's because it is covered with too many trash discussions.

My Mistakes:
1. I didn't know that we have a great topics here at our Local forum na ngayon ko lang na discover at nabasa.
[Filipino Guide] Ang Bitcointalk Merit System
Paano makakaiwas sa SCAM 🔥🔥 WORTH READING 🔥🔥
TOP 5 NA DAPAT IWASAN [Newbies must read it]

There is a possibility that other members might create a new thread about the same topic of these locked threads (which will become a spam), since they're locked and cannot be bumped or not pinned, some members doesn't really have an idea that such threads are existing in our local board.
There's no doubt that soon or later, all remaining good threads in our local will also going to be locked.

I will be expecting answers from anyone especially from Mods and Admin if possible Smiley We really need some changes and help.

266  Other / Meta / Re: Deserved or ass licking? on: August 13, 2018, 09:25:18 AM
Merit means: this post is worth reading.
LoyceV was right OP, now you know why your post doesn't have any Merit. Simple logic isn't? Smiley

267  Other / Meta / Re: HELP -I created a topic at wrong place, I carried it but the topic disappeared on: August 13, 2018, 09:08:07 AM
Probably your topic has been deleted. Mods will not undo the deletion of your topic so if you want to post the thread again in the right section , check your draft and I'm sure that the contents are still there.

To go to the draft, just go to a reply page and you will be able to see a link text in "Click preview to save a draft", or just click the link.
268  Other / Meta / Re: Someone trying to farm his activity. on: August 13, 2018, 02:49:21 AM
Activity increases every 14 days, so, no matter what, you can put hundred of quotes and yet, you will have 15 activity as much every 14 days... so...
He/she will become another "Forever junior" eventually and probably get banned sooner or later.
Yeph, no matter how many posts that shitposter made every day it will be useless once s/he become banned and I'm sure s/he will end up banned. Just let him/her suffer spamming and let's just see what will happen to those accounts soon.

Also, there's nothing to be afraid about these kind of spammers because they will stuck in Jr. Member, once 5 or 1 Merit required to rank up to Jr. Member has been implemented, those spammer will be Newbie rank forever.

Anyway, that user have a smart way of increasing his/her posts counts by posting redundant posts in Bounties etc. What s/he doesn't know is SpamBuster's prioritise is to clean spammer from those kind of junk threads.
He has so much account. Today he's spamming with a bunch of new accounts. I think he has some software tool to do this.
If this guys were really using some kind of tool, we should make him/her reveal those tool. Like pretend to be his/her fellow spammers who were looking for help to farm account, that shitposter might give you the tools s/he were using as s/he wants to help a fellow spammer. Just a suggestion but didn't know if it will work. Also it's not impossible that the owner of those accounts were already reading our discussion.
269  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: August 12, 2018, 10:19:35 AM

Do you guys have any spots left?  Smiley
As the title says, "[FULL]", I think there's no open slot for now Smiley
270  Other / Meta / Re: How to quote a locked topic and use of edit button on: August 12, 2018, 10:02:42 AM
You haven't read the whole topic  Grin We are actually talking about including everything like we can for an unlocked topic.
Ooops, my bad, it's really working. Actually I read the whole thread but what made me wrong is I didn't try it, I just read it.
I try to change the Id next to "quote" with the message Id of the locked topic and I'm surprised that the whole contents of the locked topic appeared. I thought that the "copy the contents" you're talking about is copy the locked thread like this...

This what makes me a little bit confused because I misunderstood it.

Well, it's really working. Nice tutorial mdayonliner. They might say that something like this topic has been discussed before but I'm still grateful that you've posted it here because if you didn't,  I won't found out a useful trick like this Smiley
271  Other / Meta / Re: How to quote a locked topic and use of edit button on: August 12, 2018, 06:45:00 AM
There are still some thing that this trick could not actually do. Based on your tutorial, in order to quote a locked topic you should copy and paste its contents then what you will only got is the plain text of the locked thread. You won't be able to quote it's image, text format (Bold, Italic, underline, strike through, color, font style and font size), text alignments (center, left,), table, list, horizontal line, quoted reply, and text with links unless you do it manually which will take some time.

272  Other / Meta / Re: Sub/Child board for Account Issues on: August 12, 2018, 06:29:21 AM
Meta is becoming flooded by account issues and several discussions started to get covered by these banned/hacked account threads. I feel like Meta is getting a little messy and, are we not really going to make some implementation like this? Some members already agreed to it and there is really nothing bad to make a separated board for Account Issues. Oh I bumped the thread, I'm just thinking that maybe this is a good time to discuss about this kind of idea again.

Yeah, those account issues really belongs to Meta as it is also a forum's issue but, the board I'm talking about will still be in Meta so it is still part of Meta section. The good benefit is all of those threads will be compiled in one Board and there's really nothing bad about it, but of course, it will be another work for Admin to apply.
273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Administrator, Moderator, Donetor Profile Here on: August 12, 2018, 03:44:22 AM
I am sorry because of not being able to complete my post.I mentioned the name of the people whose name I knew.I did not post it for Merit. I did not know the corrosion posted to them. You can give me the names of the names of the jesus left in my post. I will add them to my post. In this, everyone will know about all the administrators, moderators and donetors
I'm not a Merit Source but I love to give members who do good threads Merit as long as I have sMerits. That's why even though getting Merits from this post is not you're intention, anyone will absolutely Merit it as long as it's a good topic. But, like what I and other members have said. It lacks some information.

Well, if your intention is to let everyone know that you knew these people, then it is not necessary to post this here.

Anyway, I've noticed that you edited the contents but you still got some members excluded.

OP, you should have complete all the information first before you post this thread. It's a good one but since it is misinformation and not complete, it's not worthy to give any Merits and not interesting to read. Don't rush at making topics because sometimes rushing things only leads to a completely uninteresting topic.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoins on: August 11, 2018, 02:56:51 PM
If you often buy Bitcoins in bit bargain and you didn't experienced any problems before, and if you're sure that you didn't commit any mistake when transferring it, then it's possible that it only takes some delays but not so sure though. @layoutph was right, if it happens that you used a cheap transaction fee then it will take some time before you receive your Bitcoins.

But it is still much better to get some assistance from experts about your problem. Someone here already replied where to get help.

Your coins must be sent utilizing an extremely modest exchange expense. It may take ages to get. Did you call their help group to address what was the deal? There is no answer for this yet to pause.
Plagiarism.

Reported!

Original. (quoting for evidence)
Your coins must be sent using a very very cheap transaction fee. It might take ages to receive. Did you call their support team to address what happened? There is no solution for this but to wait.
276  Other / Meta / Re: reCAPTCHAs on: August 10, 2018, 10:50:44 AM
mdayonliner was right. I also experienced this recaptcha error in TOR browser whenever I have poor Internet connection and I end up browsing Bitcointalk in chrome in my android phone. A simple browser like chrome, Firefox, Internet explorer will fix the problem, if the anonymity matters, then just use a vpn with chrome. That's what I do and I'm not having trouble in recaptcha unless I missed to check one of the "Store in front" picture which is really hard to guess.

Also, there has been a lot of discussions about this issue before. You can find solutions by just searching through google or using search function of the forum.
277  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestions to lessen spam accounts on: August 10, 2018, 10:34:20 AM
What about about all those users who just need help or more information or want to trade coins or whatever and don't care about signature campaigns? They're all then punished.
Actually I knew it will happen that's why I have included this disadvantage.
Quote
Cons
  • Those people who will start service, ICO, bounties etc (creating for good purpose) are also won't be able to create account.
Also the reason why I have hesitations that this would be a great idea. Thanks for the feedback anyway. I'm really satisfied.

I don't want to offend you silent26.
Oh, of course. It's okay Thekool1s. I'm the one who ask for your suggestions and opinions and actually I just tried to share this idea of mine (which is really stupid idea I guess).

In other words did you just discouraged me to register with BitcoinTalk?
By the way, how did I discouraged you? You already have an account but why did you felt discouraged?

Well, I don't have backed up plan to save this idea that's why I think I'm satisfied with all of your answers. I also realised that, yeah we don't even have a confirmation email, I forgot it because I only registered once here in Bitcointalk and didn't notice if there is a confirmation email. Now I remember, it doesn't exist.

Looks like this thread is just another thread to trash. Sorry for being desperate, just wanted to take off those spammers and I don't even realise that I'm becoming selfish.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. Will keep this thread open for up coming "Not agreed" replies and for those who want to keep a discussion about it. Thanks for reading.
278  Other / Meta / Suggestions to lessen spam accounts on: August 10, 2018, 09:25:03 AM
There has been a lot of Newbies and Brand new accounts that is recently created and more accounts are being generated ever day (including bot accounts), the bad news is, these accounts are just being used for spamming the Forum. If we will just try to look at the situation, spammers are almost taking over the Forum. So, here's my stupid idea that might make you say "Hmm interesting" or "it's really stupid".

Please take note that these ideas came up to my mind while taking a snack from school Smiley

1. Disabling Registration - A lot of accounts are being created everyday (like what I said) and almost all of these accounts are used only for spamming. I'm just thinking, how if we disable the registration of accounts for a while while we are cleaning the forum from spammers. Here's the pros and cons.

Pros
  • While New accounts/spammers are getting banned, they will not be able to create a new accounts to continue spamming(unless they have another account) and we will continue cleaning the forum from these unnecessary accounts.
  • Accounts used for spamming will be lessen

Cons
  • Those people who will start service, ICO, bounties etc (creating for good purpose) are also won't be able to create account.
  • etc..

Since those people who have good business will be affected, I have some hesitations about this one. Let's move to the other one...

2. Limit account registration per day - How if we put a limit on how many accounts should only be created everyday? For example, only 50 accounts (or less or more than) are available every day. Once the registration limit is reached, the registration will be disabled until the next day.

3. There are designated days when the registration is available - In this one, there are some designated days where a user can create account. For example, the registration is only available every Monday and Friday.

Pros
  • This idea will make spammers wait for some day before they can make account again
  • It will lessen new accounts every.

Cons
  • Those users who are in hurry and really need to create account for some emergency etc. will also need to wait for some day.
  • etc...

4. Putting a designated time where the registration is available - How if there are designated time where users can only create account. For example, the registration is only available every 11:00 Pm to 12:00 Am and 11:00 Am to 12:00 Pm (Forum time). Users must wait until the designated time came before they can make new accounts.

When one (or two) of these idea/s are implemented. The information should appear in the registration page.

This will somehow lessen "spamming accounts" that are being created every day. I just noticed that since the registration is available anytime, users are abusing it. Anyway, there are still a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Let's discuss this idea so that we can be able to figure out more pros and cons.

These are my suggestions, but if you guys will ask me, I really love the 2nd idea combined with either idea 3 or 4 Smiley

Suggestions, questions, opinions, and corrections are open.

280  Other / Meta / Re: New type of off-topic Off Topic bots on: August 09, 2018, 09:41:03 AM
That's funny  Cheesy

I can't imagine how these spammers can do such things just to increase their posts and activity. They're posting in off-topic section but their posts are really literally off-topic. Wtf (ehem sorry).
I'm not so sure if these are really spam bots because (because if they were, they are definitely bumping ANN threads etc) what they were doing is more likely a work of a stupid person.  Cheesy
