21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: If You Became a Campaign Manager, How Would You Make a Difference? on: September 18, 2024, 05:26:58 AM
Two things come to mind,

1) No minimum amount of posts, this is something I like in icopress's bounties.

2) Substance in post than amount of words. Often posts that are written long can be trimmed shorter.

This is also a reading preference, long posts, especially if they are filled with unnecessary jargon of words instantly put me off.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: workers are slaves and salary is just a bond tied to worker to keep them working on: September 18, 2024, 04:21:24 AM
No one forces one to work except one's own circumstances, if you don't want to work, improve your circumstances. Companies, job you do — are least to be blamed.

I know people who are having jobs — they are well paid, are given various benefits aside from salary, and work is not demanding either.

Also, 'Be your own boss' has been shoved down a lot lately on social media and I find it cringe.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROP discussion on: September 17, 2024, 02:17:38 PM
Just passing by today,  most L2 airdrops today have very few allocations unlike from Op, Arb worth thousands without doing anything nor farming hard, Layerzero just ruined all future airdrops this is one of the worst in history for forcing us to pay to claim allocation which is totally unacceptable, but what can you expect with the CEO of Layerzero lol a casino gambler turned to crypto CEO.

I don't blame new projects because they are just trying to avoid giving piece of pie to farmers, even though measures may look extreme. In case of LayerZero, donations were sent to Ethereum's protocol guild and it made sense to donate since your airdrop was worth a lot more than donation amount.

During times of OP, ARB and prior there were less farming, less diluted, more the reward.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich and the poor who spend the most on luxury? on: September 17, 2024, 01:38:50 PM
I don't think generalization can be made here. Most poor people earn just enough to afford necessities, and don't have any leftovers left to 'pretend' rich while some rich like to flaunt their wealth, some do not.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Why create threads for shit posters? on: September 17, 2024, 01:28:35 PM
One board with the lowest number of spams and shit posters is our technical board and that is because they have a lot of reputable members there who are good at reporting shit posts

Even to spam, you need to have some idea on topic being discussed, meanwhile almost all stuff goes above the head in that board for an average user (including me), so that's also reason why there is minimal spam there.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: September 17, 2024, 11:27:20 AM
Something for me! Used to do 100 push-ups in one go years back, then let go of discipline, now, for this challenge gotta do 34 sets during the day to complete those.

Anyway, this is how I completed today's quota, irregular number of sets because day was already coming close, so had to do it in quick without adequate recovery time between the sets, tomorrow this will be done in 34*3 sets.

Code:
33+16+16+25+13 = 103

Hey guys...  Anybody know a good enough VPS hosting service that's cheap for running testnet and validator nodes?  I'm preparing myself to get into Monad's testnet to run a node.  I might not get the nad role but it doesn't hurt to keep trying to get into other avenues to get eligibility for their airdrop.  I really feel it's gonna be a big one and a gateway for more airdrops in their ecosystem if you are eligible for Monad.

Like seriously...  I'm getting my stimmy.  Lmao.  Cheesy Cheesy
https://contabo.com/en/ — I have used it before for running Zora node for couple months, experience was smooth. I haven't come across any competitor that offers same specs at prices of contabo (If anyone comes across one, do let me know too).
Thanks bro..  I almost didn't recognize your handle with your new sig on.  Curious, is that project any good for airdrops.  Grin  Been looking for something new after getting no activity with DFlow and Curvance.  Doing Bera testnet seems like it's useless now as it's for sure sybiled..  And I see some Galxe tasks but I'm pretty sure doing them is useless too as they're all low friction and easy to spoof.

Lol, been kicked out of btc paying one, so had to lay hands on new one, could pay 0 for all I know.

On airdrops, I'm playing spellborne religiously as they have said 10% of supply as airdrop for players, other than that missed farming usual.money pills, they have announced airdrop to pill holders.
30  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have You Made Anything from Bounties? on: September 16, 2024, 08:46:28 AM
I don't know how people participated in bounties in the past but with the way it is discussed, I don't think it's as difficult as these TG bots and airdrops. I'm not saying airdrops are difficult to participate either but these TG bots are full of various projects that end up being scams or dust projects and it would have already consumed a lot of time and energy from the users or participants. Since this isn't an airdrops topic,so  I won't say much regarding airdrops or even mention examples but I suppose these airdrops projects are not as reliable and profitable as bounties are because I'm pretty an active user of airdrops too.

People participated in bounties back then like how airdrops work currently — do this and that, and we'll give you something.

Way the current trend is — the amounts of tasks you are asked to do to be eligible for rewards, there is only bounties remaining, it's just for some reason we are still calling them airdrops.
31  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To what extent should one learn about Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2024, 08:24:38 AM
I am new in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry.  I am trying my best to read a lot of things that are somehow technical, such as trying my best to know the technical aspect of Bitcoin. Now I'm trying my best to read everything about it. It's fun reading, but it consumes a lot of time. I want to understand whether it is really necessary to know this in-depth of Bitcoin. Is a common knowledge of how to buy, sell, and store Bitcoin, okay?

Yes, common knowledge is enough.

Quote
What will be the benefit of anyone who dedicates a whole year to knowing the in-depth of Bitcoin?

You'll be able to answer questions in Development & Technical Discussion board  Tongue

Will there ever be a time that such a person will be employed, maybe to be teaching about Bitcoin or do any other Bitcoin related job?

Knowledge is money, and it gets appreciated a lot on this forum. You can take part in signature campaigns to earn something while sharing your knowledge.

32  Economy / Economics / Re: There are still really a lot of fools when it comes to crypto investment? on: September 16, 2024, 06:05:14 AM
One can simply not run out of fools in this world. They are everywhere. That’s why we see many Ponzi schemes popping up one after another. People can’t have enough of them. You know a wise man once said:

“There is a sucker born every minute.

It is probably happening every second now.

Some people get smarter but for one person that does, there are 10 more fools coming in new fresh.

Are there lots of fools in crypto?

The supply is infinite bruh

People are born, they know nothing, they learn lessons from experiences, often this lessons can be costly, then they learn dos/don'ts but can you really blame them?

A good parenting can help to some extent but world is ever changing, there is no know all defence that can protect you all times.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will Meme coins look like in the Next Decade? on: September 16, 2024, 04:15:48 AM
In the time past, we have seen how DOGE has led all memecoins to be the first to compete with other real usecase tokens before we have the likes for SHIBA Inu and other dog memes and as though that was not enough, the attention was shifted to Sol memes and we saw how Bome took the attention of the internet and by extension, it became DOGS, and just when I thought that the hype will die down since its a meme coin, I saw again CATE, a meme feline which is the best friend to the famous $DOGE and now extends a paw of friendship to $NEIRO is coming up and the next question I asked myself was, are memecoins trying to take over from the real world useful coins?

DOGE didn't have any intentional use case, it was created as a joke, nothing more, nothing less and lately it became side crypto to use when top cryptos like Bitcoin, and Ether would get congested.

Regarding useful coins in crypto market, there are handful of coins in whole crypto space that are actually useful, other than that this market heavily thrives on speculation.

Memecoins are a thing and they are continuing to have momentum due to the people's greed to become rich short time.

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROP discussion on: September 14, 2024, 10:29:27 PM
There is drought of good airdrops, that's what I think. Recent clicking games airdrop trend is not worth as much as retrospective airdrops trend, in which there usually use to be a good pay.

I have seen some of my friends' airdrop enthusiasm growing, especially dogs and hamsters. They have gotten some decent rewards and I feel like they are spending a lot of time on airdrops. Personally, airdrops don't seem to fit into my free time outside of my day job. However, I will consider following their recommendations for some campaigns. Looks a little similar to the airdrop movement in 2017

Back then, you only had to give your address to receive tokens and get airdrop that has good value, while right now you have to click buttons like no tomorrow (I'm sure auto clickers must be there, let's not count those) to receive something.

Effort is involved here and results are not guaranteed which makes me say, it's not that similar to 2017.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How Do You Know Real Airdrops From Fake Ones? on: September 14, 2024, 05:00:28 PM
Comes from experience. Once you discover what works and what does not, you'll automatically filter out wrong/not-worthy ones, or at least most of them.

I know this is not the answer you would have expected, but this IMO is best way, learnings from experience stays, and you don't have to make effort to remember these learnings, they are naturally applied, kind of like muscle memory.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 14, 2024, 09:56:15 AM
Finally JFMG shined — mediocre against Scotland in all 3 games but fifty in first game against England, some people want good competition to perform I guess.

Straight six from Head, beautiful! Zampa, wicketless, rare! Matthew short, fifer, what?

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which of the tap to earn airdrop are you looking forward to this month?. on: September 14, 2024, 03:29:05 AM
I did not do any of them, I find them boring, no involvement firsthand — no excitement for the project.

I am surprised though, why plenty prominent exchanges keep listing these tokens (Hamster getting to Binance, Catizen to Kucoin), if there were no cexes supporting these tokens, most of them will probably die soon after launch.
That's airdrop, sometimes what is considered trivial, boring, useless actually becomes something big because as we see now the TON Ecosystem is in a massive migration to every exchange. The strength of the community and investors behind the project makes the level of interest of hunters increasingly understand where the money is flowing now. Regarding the reason why many leading exchanges are now more interested in trading meme coins because of market saturation that continues to focus on boring Layer2 developments. Then what makes more sense is that we are currently entering the meme coin season, remember to take advantage of this situation to seek fleeting profits not for long term investment.

I do airdrops, it's just with this click to earn games, I don't find them my thing, and none of them have been that rewarding, yes few hundred dollars here and there, but not any life changing ones to feel regret for.
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Weird transactions on my Metamask account on: September 14, 2024, 03:22:01 AM
I suggest continue using Metamask, because from what I can gather from topic, there was no flaw from Metamask, security of wallet depends on it's user — read what you sign (if it's not readable, be cautious) — don't sign malicious stuff, don't give high value/infinite approvals unnecessarily, if approval done due to necessity, then remove the approval [1] once task is done and you'll be fine.

Not recently, maybe years ago. The weird stuff is that there is the send transaction soon after this "Call"
Your wallet is connected to a smart contract or a DApps if you’re familiar with all this retro active airdrops then you might have connected and left it connected. You can go to network on the app and disconnect them but that won’t still Eliminate everything entirely as that wallet is already compromised. Just create a new wallet and generate new keys and you will be fine.

Connecting wallet does not compromise wallet, it only means dapp will be reading your address and ask for approvals (which if malicious and you approve, can compromise your wallet). You'll see what you are connecting for when you connect wallet.

[1] https://polygonscan.com/tokenapprovalchecker (since in op's query, he's using Polygon chain, I'm mentioning polygonscan, there are other approval checkers and removers in market, few mentioned in above comments).
