861  Other / Meta / Re: BCT vs BTT abbreviation for this forum on: December 23, 2023, 12:55:45 AM
It looks like there's an official answer now: click PROFILE, click Account Related Settings, and scan the QR-code. It has BTCT in the code.
I was just reading through this board and I came across this topic then I decided to check on it, but this is also a good idea as it will help the forum and it users
But according to the link you provided, the second one is not showing anything.
This is what it showed when I try to check it out. I think something is wrong with the link or something else  Huh

It's because Loyce forgot to put link in there. You can go manually as mentioned, it'll work.

I have used both, whatever my mind felt inclined to that particular moment. However, I feel BTCT would be better, it somehow flows in tongue better (only me?), and makes sense:

BTC for BTC and T for Talk.
To be honest, it's hard for me to pronounce BTCT, I was referring to the flow of tongue thing you mentioned. It's the opposite for me. Even at the moment of the writing, I had to recheck the spelling. On the other hand BTT is just fine. Don't you think? Most of us are used to BTT not BTCT or BCT.  Roll Eyes

You will get used to pronunciation, it's that you are used to BTT right now, so it may take a while. Regarding spelling, BTC+T, dunno why would that be hard.

...but give the participants the option to ask for stablecoin if they like. BUSD seems to have the lowest fees.

i'm sure the stablecoin will be a good option but Hhampuz campaign thread will also be moved to the altcoin/bounty which i think is not what he likes.

I personally find BUSD unreliable, better stick with usdt/usdc, bsc/polygon/optimism have cheapest transfer fees.

BTW, imagine if Bitcointalk went to use dogecoin for signature bounty payments, do you think it would make to the news headlines?

"Bitcointalk starts using dogecoin for bounty payments, dogecoin surges". Lol.

I increased fee a bit, would be helpful if you could accelerate it still.

If you increased the fee, transaction id should be different right ?

Yea, I forgot to post it, lol. Here it is,

Why not pay participants in lightning BTC thus continue posting campaigns in services board? They can always use instant ex like fixedfloat to instantly convert to other cryptos.

Thanks!

I will try to push it since fee is good. Also the transaction is RBF enabled so sender can increase fee anytime.

Staking atom, inj, tia, osmo (and also lp on osmosis in popular pool such as atom/osmo) — I'd say $100 in each minimum but more the better, should make you eligible for most cosmos ecosystem airdrops.

Nfa, I just put my stuff here according to my experience.

It was one of the most profitable airdrop in this year and the project is also good.

yea, I wasn't expecting it to be worth $2k minimum with the potato amounts participants received (~160 TIA).

lAnd then coming to Rinku Singh, he had a dream IPL run in 2023. But then, he need to show more consistency. Rinku reminds me of several other one-season wonders in the IPL, such as Rahul Tewatia, Saurabh Tiwary, Paul Valthaty, Swapnil Asnodkar and Manpreet Gony.
Rinku Singh has been performing well in T20s and odis after his ipl run, I would not call him one season IPL wonder.
Anyway, at the international level he has performed as per the expectations till now. But there is tough competition and there is no guarantee that he will get a spot in the playing XI on a regular basis.

Quite true but I feel he will make permanent place eventually. Right now, he bats at 6th position, in wc Surya was tried at this position, he failed, he'll likely stick to t20s from now on and in t20 Surya bats up in order so 6th position stays safe.

When there is Hardik Pandya available, I don't have much to argue about, he wins here.
869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FOMO of bull market on: December 22, 2023, 03:46:06 AM
Many newbies that wanted to "trade" because they wanted to be a "millionaire" would have been in a better position financially today if they merely saved and HODLed Bitcoin.
That's quite true for any alt, not merely for Bitcoin, but yeah it's quite hard to find right alts sometimes. One of my friend did lots of trades of Matic back when it was few satoshi, had he just purchased and held, he would be having more money than however much he made by trading it.

I believe your reason why might be different from my reason. Because of the design decisions made by the Core Developers, there's a higher probability that the Bitcoin blockchain will exist and continue chugging along longer than all of other blockchains. It's not designed to be fast, it's designed to be robust.

Well, I was saying, holding can be better for alts too, rather than actively trading them.

I'm sure Bitcoin will last long, I don't doubt it.

Quote
In 10 years, there might only be Bitcoin and maybe two or three altcoins in existence.

Plenty alts keep popping up even now, in future it's only going to increase. Alt number will likely be in hundred thousands in 10 years. But, prominent alts might be few like Ethereum is now,  others will keep changing positions in tracking sites and eventually disappear.
870  Other / Meta / Re: Eli5 sub under beginners and help on: December 22, 2023, 03:07:45 AM
I'd tell any 5 year old to ask their parents if they really want to know about Bitcoin.

Pardon if I don't understand joke here but, you don't have to be 5 years old to ask for eli5, it just means you are asking for something to be explained in simplest way possible.

And Bitcointalk is not allowed for under 18 people.

Ok that's new. I'm sure users are following it  Tongue

BTW, thanks y'all for input, no need for new childboard for eli5, just use eli5 in title, sounds good.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 22, 2023, 02:49:00 AM
Crypto is a volatile market and if someone wants to put all the wealth in the Crypto market then it means that he is putting all of his money on plunge because there is no pledge that this investment will full your pocket or will be a cause of your enhanced bank balance. We should not put whole amount in that business which is really volatile there are also large number of other businesses like that of real estate, business of gold and also the buying and selling of cars.

I am not saying that crypto is a bad market but I want to say that put a minimum amount of money in Crypto if you don't want to lost your money it is also important to put your money in different business but don't use your large percentage in a single business as business cannot identify your success with 100% surety.
While diversification has its good points, it also has some important negatives, with the most important being that a person cannot really begin to diversify their portfolio until they have a high enough amount of money to do it, after all someone that has just 100 dollars cannot even think about diversifying, as a great deal of the best ways to do this are way more expensive than that, so many people do not have too much of a choice even if they know diversifying their wealth is the right move.

Already stated in op regarding this point, if you want to make money, crypto is right place. This place is like, money falls from sky at times. But once you have made enough, diversify.

Crypto is wild west. Scams/hacks, all the new ways to get compromised never ceases to amaze me. Yet, it remains one of fastest way to build one's portfolio, once you have made enough, secure it, diversify in real estate, gold, etc.
872  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: December 22, 2023, 02:21:27 AM
The series decider match will be played today. Can KL Rahul and his new team win the series? We need to wait for the game to get over to find out. I don't think any changes will be made to the current team. If the management does then it will be a few batters and a bowler. South Africa looks better as a team and they can win the series without any doubt.

India wins, this win can be attributed to Sanju's hundred otherwise India wouldn't have made 296 score, and possibly would have lost.

Coetzee and Jansen would have added strength to SA, but they were rested to prepare for upcoming test series. Jansen's all rounding ability as we saw in wc and Coetzee always takes wickets.

There were two changes on Indian side: Kuldeep, Ruturaj out and Washington Sundar, Rajat Patidar in respectively. They played their part well, I would say. Little innings from Patidar but confident shots, Sundar took 2 wickets and some runs at end.

873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 22, 2023, 01:35:21 AM
I think Indian players need to get more money. Bumrah was only 12 Crore while Pat Cummins was 20 crore? Starc was 24.75 crore?  Bumrah is on the same level as Cummins and Starc if not more. He deserves at least 20 crore. Other finishers/batsmen like Russow, and Head got around 8 crore. Rinktu needs to get at least 5 crore.

Imo, Head's was price was justified. I would not compare Bumrah and Cummins as Cummins is an all-rounder, Regarding, Starc yea more than necessary paid. It appeared egotistic bidding war especially on KKR's side.

lAnd then coming to Rinku Singh, he had a dream IPL run in 2023. But then, he need to show more consistency. Rinku reminds me of several other one-season wonders in the IPL, such as Rahul Tewatia, Saurabh Tiwary, Paul Valthaty, Swapnil Asnodkar and Manpreet Gony.

Rajat Patidar and Washington Sundar played little innings but they looked confident during their time on crease, was entertaining to watch them. Washington Sundar can be good replacement for Jadeja on his off days or when he retires.
Arshdeep Singh was consistent in these 3 match series at least.

Excellent catch from Sai. Good fielders are underrated.

Young blood performed good.

India makes 296, looks good total as wicket looks difficult to bat on. I'm drifting towards India to win this one. Sanju, Tilak needed to mark and they did, Rinku as expected turning out to be a good finisher.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 21, 2023, 08:24:20 AM
It's good SA won previous game, keeps excitement alive for the last. Hope to see change regarding Tilak Verma, he should be rested, didn't do anything in T20 series or in these ODIS.

Who do you think will be his replacement as a wicket-keeper and batter? Sanju Samson did not play well in the last game and I do not want him to be part of the team today. KL can do the keeping and Rajat Patidar should be given a chance same goes for Washington Sundar, they both are part of the team but are on the bench. The final match today is to decide which team will win the series, the chances of RSA winning today are better than the Indian team.
Sanju Samson have only played one game, that being second, in first he didn't get chance to bat since score was low and early batters finished the job. Tilak verma has been given more chances and has failed, so he should be put on bench and any other should be given chance.

879  Economy / Economics / Re: How come both the "gas" and "fee" prices shoot up without ETH and BTC move? on: December 21, 2023, 07:07:01 AM
Couple weeks ago, when fees spiked to $20 usd, I made transfer on night with 42 sats fee (~2 usd) and transaction was confirmed by morning.

[1] https://bitcoinfees.net/
What will be my chances to see transaction well confirmed if I set priority to the lowest possible then?

Different wallets give different fees selecting lowest option. Use this site — https://bitcoinfees.net/ — go with last option, and your transaction should get confirmed within 24hrs.
