1141  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China Control Bitcoin? on: July 26, 2019, 09:52:07 AM
With over 51% of mining capacity, I think even Satoshi can be helpless with all that processing power, but luckily not all the 51% mining power come from the one person in China, it came from a few big mining farms, we can’t rule out they may work together for some profit as benefit, but I don’t think they will take the risk to change anything for now. And the best part is no other country can produce more processing power than the manufacturing power house, I don’t think anyone can challenge China in mining for a very long time.
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road & Bitcoin ! on: July 18, 2019, 06:24:14 PM
The price rise simply due to one reason, it’s profitable, and I don’t think Silk Road is profitable, they can make some quick bucks but it’s risking too much and the market is also very competitive, they can easily get out of business, and they are using bitcoin to stay relevant, I’d say bitcoin help Silk Road not the other way around.

Of course we don’t want to be silent, but not until whistler blower would be punished for no reasons, exposing a scam required some protection, staying anonymous is very important too, that’s why everyone should use a spare account to make scams accusation.

.

its depend as some of the people from this huge team which is global(wiki leaks) are far away from fear someone and have power beyond any imagination.

someone who heavily associated with wiki leaks said we are the enemies of the most powerful!

Yeah, I’d vouch for  “the most powerful”, a scam that go borderline absurd will definitely push everyone to get out and expose every single detail of that scam, I think people decide to allocate their time to some of the most powerful scams, since there is just too many scams, we no longer brother with the scam that amounting to a little money, a scam that as huge as bitconnect would definitely not going to get away under their radar.

Because doxxing is something that we need to take cautious of, there is no doubt anyone can stay safe in this forum, but how far can a person think they are safe from being doxxed by most notorious hackers, I’m not trying to say everyone is very good at opsec security and they can and will never be get caught by anyone for making any remark on some of the people and that will hurt their feeling, and this guy get triggered and they want to make a revenge, they will hire some guy on the deep web, some white hat or black hat hackers who offer service to doxx anyone, after the doxxing, reputation will be at stake now, and the Julian Assange or Snowden Edward definitely taught us something, it is very difficult to be a hero, the scammers will hunt them down if they don’t want to get into troubles, they became silenced.

1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't US gov buy a trillion worth of bitcoin? on: July 17, 2019, 08:09:34 AM
It will be my best wet dream for the govt to buy all the bitcoin, all the crypto from the open market, buying is not the only choice they have, they can confiscate, taxing your crypto, ban it, regulate it, sanction, there is just over hundreds possible way to get their hand on it, buying is just one of the worst they could do, what gold buying binge is one completely isolated case.
1147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Form of Anarchy on: July 17, 2019, 05:16:06 AM
Money itself is a form of anarchy too, we should go back to barter system, no dollar no currency no fiat no crypto, but people with higher IQ don’t want to do that, they want to be the only 0.1% of elites of the elites.
1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now it's an all out war : Government Vs cryptocurrencies on: July 15, 2019, 07:52:52 AM
It is a war within self control, I had no doubt everyone have their own anxieties, govt anxious with the usd and we are anxious with our bitcoin bags, but most of us are nearly immune to the anxieties, because most of the fud are repetitive and focusing the same behaviors, when the anxieties are over we will become stronger and tougher.
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 14, 2019, 11:53:14 AM

don't worry, this whole drama is all about Libra.
they don't want to let Facebook become a bank that easily. they will either prevent Libra from even seeing the light of day and be created or they will ask to have a hand in it and have access to all the transaction records. and since it is centralized, closed sourced and private blockchain, it can easily be achieved.

Facebook Libra became a bank definitely sound disruptive to me, it could be the most happening news ever in this year, since we would properly wont have many more crypto mega hit headlines to come, and even Trump couldn’t ignore that, but I’m not sure how it will end, may be Libra could aid bitcoin adoption to a whole new level than that of the 2016/2017. Let’s wait what will be the global reaction to this news, I wonder India will try to ban it?
1150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 13, 2019, 06:09:15 AM
... the only way to control bitcoin is thru 51% attack, which is very difficult to achieve even for potus. May be more regulation to centralized exchanges?

I agree and I suspect the regulatory efforts will be initially directed towards exchanges. They will attack the fiat to btc bridges and essentially cutoff law abiding citizens from practical access. Or they will try to anyway.

I don’t mind what they want to do with Libra, as long as they don’t plan anything on bitcoin itself, and I’m seriously surprise how Trump who is not a tech savvy, would got to know bitcoin, I think someone told him about bitcoin, I don’t believe Trump is skillful enough to navigate smartphone, and he could only stick with twitter because it is chartered to the complete novice like him, I’m eager to know how much he got to know about bitcoin, may be what he had merely know its name, not clue about the tech or the founder itself, and the Libra too, he probably have very limited understanding.
1151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questions to BTC Holders 2011 And Before on: July 12, 2019, 04:30:27 PM
Got to know bitcoin back in 2011, I think it was some anime site, but I was too poor to afford any donation alike, back then I thought bitcoin was a gift card for donation and not even knowing what is mining and wallet and also knowing you can hold bitcoin just like a money, and not knowing who create it too, then I didn’t pay attention to it at all, but it catch my attention again in 2013, when everyone are crazy about mining with computer, but it’s not profitable and all, and I slowly following the price on a daily basic just like I did with stock market, then finally get into the scene in late 2016, and you can’t easily trust the internet in the earlier 2011, there is too much of internet scam, thieve, credit card fraud, hacking, etc, and bitcoin just look as ridiculously vaporware in that day, who would have want to get duped when it’s so obvious.
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 12, 2019, 10:23:23 AM

The world actually does give a damn. His tweets actually affect the stock market, albeit only on a limited scale:

https://www.businessinsider.sg/trump-marvel-china-tweet-stock-market-2019-5/?r=US&IR=T

It didn't seem to affect Bitcoin whatsoever though, which could be interpreted as something meaningful lol.

That’s hilarious to think how a tweet   can have any impact to the stock, I think market will take a while to digest the shocks, coming directly from potus, while indecisive.

i thought the whole point of libra was to avoid being regulated like a bank, since banking regulations are so draconian and financially onerous. aren't they just doing what tether or USDC did except on a permissioned blockchain? that's how they can offer zero-fee P2P payments and cheap merchant fees, because the system (beyond initial seed money) is funded off interest payments on their reserves.

Can’t rule out the possibility that they may want to regulate it, and by legalized it and imposing several unfair treatments in the agreement while compete with conventional banking regulations,

Quote
i think under current laws, they need to follow money transmission law but they aren't regulated as a financial institution. sounds like that may change soon. this is a bit worrisome because they could pass laws that start regulating crypto services like banks---not just libra. that's the implication i get from reading trump's tweet anyway.

I have no doubt they can regulate Libra, by rewriting the code, adding some back door etc, and it is the known issues with centralized currency, but it would be no easy way to regulate bitcoin, as many soft fork hard fork has failed to do so, the only way to control bitcoin is thru 51% attack, which is very difficult to achieve even for potus. May be more regulation to centralized exchanges?

1153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 12, 2019, 06:33:53 AM
It is amazing even the mighty Trump cannot ignore the influence from the bitcoin, I know they knew what’s going on in the crypto, they just pretending to be hostile, but they can’t hold for too long, they will need to spread the news, that’s is just interesting they finally let it go.
1154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 12, 2019, 06:09:20 AM
Trump is a no coiner and that is what we should expect come directly from the tweet. Btw I’m wondering why the world continued to give a huge damn about every tweet he would make, it is never mean to be serious? On a bright side, it does sound Facebook Libra could be legally exist, they just need to register themselves, which is almost too good to be true.
1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Satoshi Emails on: July 07, 2019, 06:41:01 AM
This piece of info really open my eye in a complete different picture to look at the development of the community. I think it’s a very piece of info that we shouldn’t let it sink into the sea of knowledge. Btw this Mike Hearn guy have some of the very good insight, he is so much distinguished among all the other member here, but to stand against bitcoin core influence, but he must work much more, he has underestimated the stubbornness of the communities, we have all know what happens to all the tycoons who trying to do the same. I think it’s all come together perfectly after a long time of puzzle I have experienced during the late 2016-2017 drama, it is good to dig deeper down into the rabbit hole to get as much clue as possible, of course just for entertainment purpose.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lost LTC (Will pay if you help me find) on: July 06, 2019, 03:00:51 PM
One year ago? I think you could remember how you create the recovery seed at the first place, it could be the software you downloaded from some random site, may be hinting the name of the software you used, some part of the name will do too, may be the icons of the software, if it’s the hardware wallet you’re talking about, it would be wise to contact the support unit of the said hardware, I had no idea what could have created that seed by just knowing the word counts btw.
1157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin history, a fact for each day! on: July 04, 2019, 08:48:26 PM
I’m surprise there’s no details about Wikileaks affairs with bitcoin, I think it’s one of the very important timeline in the bitcoin history.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It costs less to mine gold than it does to mine Bitcoin on: July 02, 2019, 03:02:24 AM
It’s a flaw argument, you think bitcoin mining never create pollution other than carbon footprint? All the mining equipment used to mine gold, chemicals, tools, the process of devastating the environment to detect gold, blah blah etc. You think bitcoin did any better? All the equipment used to mine bitcoin bitcoin miners, come at the cost of environment destruction, the chemical used to produce the miners, the rare earths used inside the miners, they’re all contribute to earth destruction. Bitcoin is not greener tech than anyone think they’re, of course you can argue we can go back to CPU mining and our operation can be greener by using greener mining process and avoid using mining equipment from the illegal sources, we can also argue there’s greener way to harvest gold too, but people want profit out of everything else, they are willing sacrifice anything to get some profit out of the hard work, and going greener operation will add to more cost to the profit that can be made, yes, going greener is going to cost more money, in these level, I can assume gold mining is more profitable than all the idiots who mining bitcoin with all the resources available to the world, ok some argue gold mining make up more amount of money per day compare to bitcoin, roughly 5-10x more marketcap and thus more pollutions, don’t forget we got thousands of crypto that’s mineable, while we have only less than 300 mineable minerals in the periodic table, you can argue we can mine all the minerals in the world and still produce more pollution, in the end, crypto mining is highly scalable, it’s not limited to bitcoin only, and not limited to periodic table too, you try to combine all the bitcoin eth lite coin monero blah blah mining and compare it to gold again? Then you want to preach proof of stake, yeah, it’s full of flaws, I’m going to sleep now.
1159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you can have a dinner with Mr Satoshi on: June 26, 2019, 10:56:39 AM

Me I'm going to ask with him what motivates him to develop this kind of digital crypto technology.how come and what's on his mind that he develop a very useful things like bitcoin.if its satoshi will have dinner with me I'm gonna ask him what's his vision in the near future about bitcoin? And what his reason why he develop digital cryptocurrency.and the people who help of this how many they are how long he develop this? Well just a curiosity just to know about the fact of cryptocurrency.

It will be great I think Satoshi can be the director for the new film named “the future of bitcoin”, it would certainly make millions of fanboy go wild.

This should be posted on off topic.

For me having a dinner with Mr./Ms. Satoshi would be great! I'll be asking for his ideas regards the payment system that we are having at this moment and for the following years to go.

It may not be possible to dine with Satoshi,  but don’t lose the hope to dine with some of the great minds in the crypto, some altcoin founders could be readily to take the challenge.

They are all gone, lets be honest if someone can access 11 Billion dollars and doesn't spend a cent, somethings up. I am 100% under the conclusion he deleted all of his private keys.

I believe Satoshi have thousands of individuals wallet that’s scattered everywhere in the basement, they may not be all gone, I think it’s still possible to scavenge some of them.

if I have dinner with him, I want to ask about my first question
hello Mr. satoshi, when will you sell all of your BTC in that old wallet
I think it will be a tense and exciting dinner in my opinion  Grin

Selling all of them in one go, I think it would be very difficult request even for Satoshi. I think it’s possible to sell some of them little by little.
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you can have a dinner with Mr Satoshi on: June 26, 2019, 02:27:54 AM
"So... Craig... I may call you Craig, right?"

---

On a more serious note, I'd probably try to talk about anything but crypto with them. I'm sure there's much more one could learn from satoshi besides their thoughts on crypto.

In the end I then probably couldn't help myself and ask them about their opinion on the blocksize and 2nd layer debate anyway. And on turing complete blockchain scripting.

Yes, discussing technical issues would have been the possible outcome, who would have thought Satoshi to stop doing what he/she did since day one. On a side note Craig is one shameless imposter.

I would ask him if he really saw all the monumental increase in value and the number of users coming . I would also like to ask if he/she is happy with scalability of the bitcoin blockchain and if he/she approves of the lightning network.

I don’t know anyone who’re not aware of the value increment, may be Satoshi is the only person who doesn’t care about it.

I would like to ask him these questions, first if he still has control and access to over 1 million bitcoins.

Second, if he has it, does he have plans to sell it?

It would be a interesting question, we have seen some whale offloading their bags secretly everyday, and they would only make announcement after they finish all their dirty work. Will Satoshi did good when it come to selling.

maybe people will ask more questions about what will happen with bitcoin in the future and about the prospects that there will definitely be coin competition as an investment field.

Yeah, I think Satoshi would have big dream for his/her very own project, but no one is told about that dream, may be it is far beyond space exploration in his/her wildest dream?

If ever I got an opportunity to have a dinner with Satoshi then I would like to get his opinion regarding the several forks that happen on Bitcoin. His feeling towards the split of people that once work as a group in developing and advertising Bitcoin.  And last, I would ask  which of these group are really on the path of his vision.

That’s would be the same questions I would eagerly ask about! It would be gold to look at that reactions!

If I have dinner with Mr. Satoshi, I would like to know where is he hiding all these years? What is his plan for his Bitcoin holding and is he still part of the development of the Bitcoin .

Hiding, of course it must be a very safe and far away from political chaos, preferably a free county, I think it would be Japan? I do hope he/she can spend the wealth for the benefit of all mankind, we have seen plenty of billionaires became crooked when they got so rich, they no longer care about helping other people.
