It's undeniable men changed proportional to bitcoin, women didn't change for it.
whenever I give men bitcoin they will hold it
Whenever I give it to women they will sell it for $$$
Just deal with it women love money > bitcoin
Not to generalize, maybe most women does, but not all... Same goes for boys. And I think it really depends on the situation and their decision making.  In my opinion, gender doesn't really have anything to do with it.
I'm not trying to be prejudice against women on bitcoin, but I think we need to work harder to bring more women into Bitcoin but not content to what we already have today, undoubtly I'm not happy with how few women are actually interested into bitcoin. But how are we going to change women? Men are easy to change for Bitcoin.
1302  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 03, 2019, 06:05:18 AM

That was the year the global market crashed and taking away the dreams of many people, the financial crisis has taken the entire world by storm and there is nothing you could do about it and many lost their jobs, i had some close friends in US who started driving taxis for a living as they have lost their job and the situation around the world was massive, i really lost a lot of money in stock market at that time and that is the year when the legendary white paper came out.

I think it make some sense, everyone was used to be working for dream prior to the crisis, I’m not sure what is that dream they all working for, retirement? Flying car? Fly to the moon? I think they used to be working for space travel. And that’s real many people loss their jobs and they need to find job eagerly, most likely they don’t have saving at all or want to make more money to save themselves? and I found many properties getting foreclosure, some huge constructions project halted, and people are lining up the mental clinic, I think many suffered from mental health? If you ask me whether I had that dream, I don’t have that dream, all I care about is waking up everyday and go to work to feed myself, and it is the same for all my peers too, we never talk about some kind of dream.
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 03, 2019, 05:35:53 AM
Wait, I think he need more elaboration to his story, spending on whores, 100 escorts, food and travel, that sound just like any generic story shared all over the fb, who know he may just come out with a piece of fake story
1304  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Inflation a Bad Thing? on: February 02, 2019, 10:10:50 AM
Inflation is always good, because it create more money supply into the market, ...

I disagree with that, but regardless ...

... but the problem is all the money created during the inflation didn't get distributed equally, or not at all distributed, all the money goes to the pocket to the already wealthy, and you and me only received less than 1% of the money created, 99% vs 1%, is it not bad enough when inflation was abused into benefiting the few of the elite who control everything?

If money were inflated equally, then it would have no real effect. Imagine that one day the U.S. government declares that 1 dollar is now 2 dollars everywhere. What would change? Nothing, just the numbers. With the current system, banks create the new money and give it to the elite, while the money held by everyone else is devalued.

The nature of inflation created a group a people we called it capitalist, the capitalist are the person who benefit from the skewed inflation that what we have today, the unfair distribution of wealth that ultimately robbing from the poor and the middle class. But we are getting smarter, the few of the elite decide to abuse this capitalism system to the max, and they created the new capitalist that only benefit the fewest of the few, the cronyism capitalism, this is when the money creation are totally NOT distributed to anyone except the elite crony, when your gov tell you the inflation is 5% this years, and they are also telling you some biggest bank on the town need to be bailout, and you should smell crony bailing out each other, this is when they are taking money out from your tax money into the pocket of the elite, it is how perfect bailout are robbing all the 99%, or may be 120% of the total wealth creation, and who gonna pay the price? Inflation gonna pay the bailout, and when it is not enough, the tax payer will also gonna pay the price too, inflation alone will soon not enough to bailout the elite, it is just a matter of time.
And you know why Apple are leaving? Google are leaving? Why more and more big companies that create middle classes are leaving? They don’t want o pay the price, who want to pay the price do not need to leave the country. They may be evil companies to have leave the country, but don’t forget their contributions are good for economy, I don’t understand why people decide to attack something that they don’t understand, they could be mislead by mainstream news. And there is a lot of fake news circulated on the net, no one would know the facts anymore, and it take time and intelligence to tell the facts, most people do not need to know the facts.

The purpose of bitcoin was created to distributed equally, the design itself is the proof of work, I think Satoshi never expect his work are being abused too by the mining farm who decide to mine all the Bitcoin for themselve, but I would like to see what is the end goal of this little experiment in the future.

1306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin changed the men but not the women on: February 01, 2019, 06:45:19 PM
It depends on individuality and not sex some men love money more then women, some men can not hold money for long not to even talk of bitcoin that is a highly volatile commodity and at that the ought of wanting to exchange it to faint is always there. So in my own opinion both men and women love money and it all depends on individuals difference.
Do you know how to change them to accept bitcoin? Obviously it would take me a lot of efforts to change them. And I don’t think I could change them into doing anything, but bitcoin did change a lot of people. And I think it’s easy to tell who had changed for it.

whenever I give men bitcoin they will hold it

Hold for how long? And when will know the time to sell? this is the big point. We always expect people to hold their bitcoin, but the question of who holds is: how long he most hold?
Just hodl it like any currency, and spend it just like a currency.

Quote
Whenever I give it to women they will sell it for $$$

You are giving something that allows you to buy things that she wants, that's the same as giving you bank card. And you should not expect the person to hold. Hold is an investment strategy for those who do not have the time and do not know how to do day trade

There is a lot of services readily to accept bitcoin, of course hodling currency is a no brainer decision, hodling USD, JPY, Rupee, Euro, but why not bitcoin?
1307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin changed the men but not the women on: February 01, 2019, 06:35:42 PM
When people see bitcoin in investment view, they will hold it for sure.
When they just sold it away, they just want to make easy / quick profit.

It's normal thing because there are only two type of people in the aspect of life, right ?
So how do you want to be ? Be a man or a women ?

I think it’s not about being the right gender, it’s more of changing for something, you won’t be able to change gender as easily as changing for the bitcoin

Dude, Bitcoin is too much volatile compared to those fiat currencies and you are risking your money while buying and keeping (here: holding) it. We don't feel the difference in fiat currencies' fluctuations because they don't affect your entire capital and you can't really gain such promising returns you get through Bitcoins' trading and even vice-versa could happen.

Volatility may be the characteristic of bitcoin, but what if you keep all your wealth into Fiat, how does it hedge against fluctuations, and for me it is more risky to keep entire wealth in one currency, we wouldn’t know what in future the particular currency would worth nothing. Btw I’m very sure hodling bitcoin would be a no brainer deal, it’s up to the individual taste.
1309  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 05:16:37 PM
I don't know what was happening in that year because I never knew about cryptocurrency and besides that, I've been busy with my real jobs. I am sure that people who get involved with cryptocurrency in 2008 will have a lot of money especially if they have much bitcoin and they sold the bitcoin in 2017. I cannot imagine how much money they made from bitcoin, but I am sure that it will be huge money.

It is not easy to get into bitcoin, I had been searching for info for so many years, some of my tech savvy friend got to know about bitcoin as early as 2008, from some anime site they frequent, but they didn't care about it until lately. Think about Winklevoss twin, I believe they are too, merely lucky enough to acquire recently massive bitcoins from the source that came from the FBI, there is a lot of stories associate with how to obtain bitcoin, but not on clearnet.

Nope cause back then in 2008 i don't know bitcoin exist much more use a pc lol. It was later 2009 that ive learned to use a computer but now when i think back if only ive discovered, what bitcoin is i would probably invest in it or earn from faucets but right now bitcoin has given us another chance to ride on the boat once more given that the market is dumping right now it might best to accumulate now than regret later.
I don't think I could buy more bitcoin right now, all the services/exchanges that I could use years ago are now completely gone, and they are not coming back anytime soon.

Honestly I was disappointing, I was only 18 when the crash happened and I told everyone I know that dollar would become valuable once again because of the lack thereof and until they print out more dollars the economy would be weird, for all the foreign countries the dollar value would increase versus their own fiat currency because even USA had lack of dollars for themselves so the other countries would be in dire need for dollars for purchases that were made with dollars (both products brought in from USA plus the oil deal of course) and asked everyone I know to buy dollars right now because value will increase and sell it before they print out more.

However, I was a kid at 18 and had no money and nobody really cared about what I said and nobody actually made a single dollar profit from it, if only people listened to me.

You won't believe there are just so much stereotype personality in this world, and they are also the reason why we have all the financial mess today, they're always so full of themselve, egoistic, but they are also the best speculators that will pump the bitcoin to the moon, surprisingly bitcoin always works against their goal.
1310  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 01:03:32 PM
There was a thread a opened last year here, specifically about the biggest bankruptcy in American History.

As you can see in the replies there, some of them are fairly young and wasn't aware of the crisis. However, there are members who have seen the negative effects and I would say it again it doesn't look good. And when I thought, after assuring by the company that we will be ok and our jobs our secured, the worst thing happened as I was one of those who have been been laid out and out for jobs. And it took me months to find one and it really teaches me a valuable lessons in life specially it was the like my 2nd child was born so it was really difficult for me to feed my family that time. That I started to save little by little for retirement, it was a rude awakening for those who have witnessed it in their life.
It is definitely a good reading. I think most people simply don't have saving during the time, or they could barely have any saving, I have few of my peers who are so lucky to obtain some of the best scholarship for their education, and it's enough to last the education easily while still have 50% fund leftover for their disposal, but I'm simply amused by how they quickly dry up all the fund within a few years, just for the rent for the utility bills, the fee for all their education need, and well you know it's also the time when they encouraged to begin to pursue their love during youth, I believe they spend most of the fund into someone they love, I had experienced myself that I usually spend crazily just to impress the girl that I like, and it usually work, and I wouldn't control my spending easily after that.

The younger generation might not worry about pension funds and saving for retirement, when they start working, because retirement is still something that will happen when they are 60 to 70 years old. Most of them are only concerned about the lack of money to fund their next party or night out. <Let them be like that, because it's a fun time in their life and they do not need to prioritize things like retirement worries, when they still have many years to plan for that.>

Older people do not have that luxury of having enough time to start all over to fund for their retirement, so they worry more about these things.  Wink
Wow they could enjoy the worry of their pension fund, we could only worry about job security, because retrenchment are so often that you could barely think about retirement, and more over pension.
Talk about forced premature retirement.
1313  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 07:57:38 AM
2008 was one of the worst year for me. It's the start of the financial crisis and for those who are too young to remember it, it was the year when Lehman Brothers collapsed bringing Wall Street and the world with it. So I believed that it's one catalyst that Satoshi needed to put forward his bitcoin and obviously it was born in 2009. I also lost my job during that year and it was very hard to get one because no one is hiring and everything was in chaos or panic. So for those who don't know or haven't been in a world financial crisis, just save and invest in crypto as a hedge for economic turmoil.
Since after the crisis, I can feel the people around me are becoming extremely money mind, I found them to be money addicted, they would do anything to get money, pay to win in competition, micro transaction, webcam whoring, social network whoring, whatever you can think of, no matter men or women, they are both super materialistic, and I found women are way ahead of men to demand more money out of their every limited time. I didn't blame money for anything, I'm just couldn't accept everytime couple are going to fight day in day out for money money and more money! Every time she will tell me money this and money that, and it soon become a fight.
1314  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 03:20:31 AM
I heard during 2008 bitcoin still have lower price and many people still do not know about what is bitcoin and what for we use bitcoin, I know about bitcoin last three years and price still at $200, maybe I will be rich person if know about bitcoin during 2008.
Getting to know it was the easy task, to actually acquire some of it are something ridiculously difficult, I was going around and asking my friends, bank about it, no one will tell me more info, nothing at all, when I tell them bitcoin, they will simply ignore it, no matter how many times I remind them, they do not seem to care about it, but I continue to wonder how to get one of that, I believe it is extremely difficult to get into it in 2011, in 2012, only one exchange existed to trade bitcoin, and I didn't know how to deposit money into buying it, I believe only the insider have this special access not for ordinary public, only shark are invited into it, we are all late into the party.
1315  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 02:17:15 AM
2008/2009 feel like very special year for me, I could feel all the people around me are very different compare to before, they have a lot of worries, I overheard one of my respected senior talking about their worry about their pension, worry about the future generation, worry about their job security, a lot of worry, but as a millennial I have no clue why they're so worry about them.

To flash back it today, I'm still unable to understand all their worries, it may be the reason of age-gap, the one age group that felt stronger came from the older generation.

Well, I would like you to describe what's your feeling about 2008 and why it is so special compare to any other year like 2009,2010,2011 etc.

Most millennials, especially younger ones, have a lot less money saved than previous generations. Cost of living is much higher now, wages are stagnant, and consumer culture also encourages high levels of debt. That means on average, their retirement accounts are paltry, if they exist at all.

In 2008, I remember hearing the grumblings of older folks who were watching their retirement savings tank in value because they had left everything in the stock market. That's typical for 401(k) investment. Meanwhile, I didn't care because I had no retirement savings anyway. I was living hand to mouth and couldn't care less about the stock market, bailouts, or any of it.
I'm agree with it, most millenias could only get into debt, personal loan, study loan, getting married and easily piled up with so much loan that no recourse, my peer are getting 100k in scholarship in that year, but they're quickly spend it up, I'm too surprise how fast they spend the money as I thought it could be enough for a typical person to last for many years of many bills and expense, but well, not today though. I think today everyone, no limited to millenias are highly in debt, old or young all have debt.
1316  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 01:50:51 AM
2008 I did not know crypto, getting to know it was 2013 when I heard that steam games accept payments with bitcoin. my feeling is just weird because I don't know what the currency is, because what I know is paypal or credit card. but after 2017 and learn more about bitcoin, it turned out to make me feel even more happy.
I believe everyone should come across the name during their usual internet routine everyday, it has no value until late 2011, it is when the first time I know about its exist, and I got to know it associated with some drug money however since then I try to find out more info but to no availed to how to get one, I don't even know mining and any software, I first thought it was some kind of money just like PayPal, or some in game currency, and I started to monitor the price since 2013 when the smartphone are easily to obtain and some app, I'm still not able to get some of them, it's just too hard for me to get them, of course I'm not gonna sell drug for bitcoin to get some of it, you know it will land me to jail immediately. Well then I read the history of exchange hack and everything to find out how some of them could bought it legally, it's kinda funny through. And I believe those earlier adopter must be some kind of nerd of the nerds who are so tech savvy that only very selected few that come from the outer world could bought it legally.
1317  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 01, 2019, 01:32:11 AM
Like I felt in 2018 after buying few alts @ Nov - Dec 2017 Smiley
Because I bought 2 studios at the highest possible price, just months before the 2008 recession. At the end, I lost the second unit, but managed to save the first one and it already covered my losses from second unit. It's the same now with alts, more are dead and let's hope that the rest will cover our loses.

That certainly look bad for losing a unit. I believe most people would treat their house as the biggest investment in their life, that sound like the 2008 are caused by housing bubble, but I doubt it's the same like 2018, obviously I could feel something special in 2018, I believe the crypto bubble are nowhere near the 2008, a peer of mine bought a condo unit few years ago, between 2016, I think they're buying it during the peak too, now they're telling me their unit are dropping in price by roughly 30% below their purchasing price, they're now making loss for their unit, and itsnt cheap too, they bought near to 1m dollar price which is three fold higher than equivalent unit decade ago, but I don't feel they're the same worry just like 2008, or it would need to take another few years, say 2020 to feel the same depression again? Well I hope it didn't come back too.
1318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I told my banker about bitcoin on: January 31, 2019, 07:04:14 PM

Tldr

creating a bank account = submission over the rule of the banks owners and founders

using a bitcoin wallet = submission over the rule of the bitcoin whales, bitcoin miners, its founders and the cryptomedia owners.

its actually not different at all. its basically the same crap both of them.

with "our money" or "our financial system" they mean the founders not the generation they want to scam.

It's no doubt we are after a human being who depend on symbiosis relationship to survive the other day, to survive we need to extract any values from the other folk, and money become a good medium to transfer value from you to me, but once the values are completely extracted like what we have today that 99% of money belong to the richest, or equally to 99% of all your value are extracted, force to survive with 1% value for the rest of the life, it's when symbiosis relation become inequality, it become a predatory relationship, and revolution will be followed to destroy that predatory relationship between human being. And I believe bitcoin are the key to the revolution.

I guess people in Venezuela have enough time to learn how to create a bitcoin account.
On the contrast, people who live in countries with a stable financial system will take a very long time to realize that using bitcoin is important.
I have no idea the situation in the Venezuela, but I believe very few of them are tech savvy too.

FIAT currency and the current banking system is pretty obsolete but because the Banks and Governments, Big corporations and Whales have the clout and money, they are able to control and influence us in more ways than we can ever imagine. Like for example on the TV and in other media outlets, you will get a ton of banks advertisign their services but you won't get your JOE BLOGS watchign an ad about a Bitcoin wallet on prime time TV. People ar elike sheep they follow what they are told and pursuasive advertising is there to brainwash people into stickign with the status quo and only finding acceptable what they are being presented with by these very powerful bodies. The Banks are not just going to walk away from day trading our money and making billions from it.  Roll Eyes
Rent seeking behavior has been practiced since the beginning of the civilization. It is no doubt the bank play a major role in making it a success. I have always think about one article from the other author, it is describing as the bitcoin success will lead us into the negative  economy growth, the medieval age, and even fear mongering of the collapse of economy will lead us back to cowboy age, and followed by a number of terrifying stats about the life of the cowboy age, Im wondering if the economy are usually driven by technology innovation, could bitcoin and its mining rigs, products not consider to be a tech that could contribute to the economy?

This is your misconception because everyone loves money more than Bitcoin. Why do you invest in Bitcoin, is it because of the money it brings? Women are money lovers, but they are also people who know how to eliminate the desire to reduce investment risks.
I don't think it is anything to do with risk, we are dealing with a currency, just like Japanese yen, rupee etc, and this currency is bitcoin, I don't have any problem to hold many kind of different currencies, and I don't really care about the exchange rate all the time, even if the JPY are going to slide 10-20% tomorrow I would care nothing about it because it is just a currency after all, why would I need to busily exchanging my foreign currencies all the time?

It's undeniable men changed proportional to bitcoin, women didn't change for it.

~ snip ~

I could accept some independent women are successful, but when I look at the top crypto hodler list, I could barely get any women in the list, something that make me cannot convinced they are fine with being in the list.

As I have said in other thread, it has something to do with how men and women are design.. Men is obviously, testosterone ridden, so we love challenges and risk. And we all know that investing in crypto is a big risk so men tend to lean on that way. However, women are "risk averse".

Quote
Risk averse is the description of an investor who, when faced with two investments with a similar expected return, prefers the one with the lower risk.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/riskaverse.asp

So maybe that's one reason why we don't see women in the top crypto hodler's list.
Risk aversion may work for risky asset/investment, I don't think it is the same for currency, we don't have any feel to currency fluctuation, it is all about something else.
