401  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING ABOUT CRYPTSY on: September 29, 2014, 04:39:45 PM
Security inefficiency is not an excuse to hold someone's BTCD for 48 hours. It's already quite established crypto. Other major exchanges don't have problems with withdrawals. They process them immediately

I was giving a list of reasons it could be held for 48 hours. Seeing as how you received them it was likely for one of those reasons. Other exchanges rampantly are hacked and bled dry and/or wander off with your cash/coins. Cryptsy is the oldest altcoin exchange (next to BTC-e) and still going strong. Though we would like to avoid some of these issues to protect funds we occasionally have users that experience delays.
402  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Campbx refuse to pay out 15k+ and stole bitcoins. on: September 29, 2014, 03:52:33 PM
They stopped  paying out for referrals some time ago as well. Annoying but as soon as Cryptsy picked up USD and FIAT I stopped caring.
403  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is Coinbase so slow? on: September 29, 2014, 03:51:01 PM
I would love to know why coinbase imposes the 4 or 5 day wait period to buy/sell to/from bank account when everywhere else gets it done sooner. Hell, even paypal makes a transfer in less time.

They follow the law. Slows things down but at least you know your stored funds wont just get seized by the fed.
404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MCXNOW Scam or not? on: September 29, 2014, 03:49:41 PM
I wouldn't say its a scam. Some odd things going on with MXCbux and shares at times but for the most part I think hes throwing in the towel as the owner has been pretty inactive. Strong community of supporters still chat there.

405  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why doesn't BTC-e accept EgoPay any more? on: September 29, 2014, 03:47:18 PM
Cryptsy will allow you to deposit and withdraw using egopay if your looking for alternatives.

You can also redeem BTC-e USD codes on Cryptsy.

* Both are options for international customers only
406  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC exchanges with Egopay deposit on: September 29, 2014, 03:45:01 PM
Cryptsy has egopay for international customers.
407  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING ABOUT CRYPTSY on: September 29, 2014, 03:43:39 PM
There are a few factors that can cause what your explaining:
- Hot wallet runs dry we have dialed down our ratios based on the current environment we prefer the security to the inconvenience. Just the nature of it.
- Password resets automatically force a 24 hour withdraw freeze.
- An account can be flagged for other numerous reasons for review "laws and such" yeah it sucks but its still 1000% faster than if your bank flagged a transaction.
- some withdraws are flagged for a manual release I wont say what causes this as its another security measure, but if it is flagged you can expect a delay until a human reviews it.

So "WARNING ABOUT CRYPTSY" should read Cryptsy has some annoying security features protecting my coins... My reply would then be its the nature of the beast.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCX never killed a fly, buy all the cheap XMR while you can on: September 27, 2014, 12:18:39 PM
One I think there is 5 a day its clutter any mostly nonsense.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZedCoin 2.0 [ ZED ] - Now Trading! on: September 27, 2014, 07:02:32 AM
Any current attempts by the developer or the community to get this coin working again?

Hey! Aren't shit coins supposed to go through the scam ringer at C-cex first. Try to stay classy over there, ok Wink

C-CEX?  You got the wrong guy.

And Cryptsy if anything has been too slow to add new coins.  Nothing but class over there compared to all the other shitty exchanges.

Got no issues with DODGE love them actually but we added ZED some time back and well the chain is broken just seeing if anyone actually was paying attention to the coin..... We have some folks trying to move it but the chain is frozen.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZedCoin 2.0 [ ZED ] - Now Trading! on: September 26, 2014, 11:06:45 PM
If any folks in the ZEDcoin community want to get it fixed I found a guy who will do it. But we will need to put together a bounty for it.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Insignificance of Altcoins? Potential? Mass adoption? Really? on: September 26, 2014, 10:47:34 PM
How do you cope with the fact that altcoins are entirely insignificant on a broad scale (at this point and time)?  Do you really believe that one altcoin besides Bitcoin would/could have a real stake in going mainstream?  Will there ever be an altcoin/coin that is used by 10 million, 100 million or 1 billion people or more?  call me naive but I honestly don't think there will ever be, I think it's not going to happen.

only thing I could think of would be eg. Ethereum or so used by 100M people all over the world maximum and thats about it in my view.  I don't really know, I'm a realist, not really crypto ideologist-optimist kinda guy as lotta folks here seem to be. I think Cryptocurrency--even Bitcoin--is not very significant in our world today.

This argument was and has been used on Bitcoin. Some altcoins will survive and make waves.

Yep I already cleaned it up a bit and intend to keep doing so. Just get sucked in to my paid jobs at times.

416  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How long to wait of CRYPTSY.COM doge withdrawal? on: September 25, 2014, 01:25:47 AM
u can wait from 1 minute to days ... cryptsy is one broken exchanger since they launched ... with such a good action there tho .. never understood why owner wont upgrade engine/site
I can assure you we have a data center most of the competition wishes they had. What the small percentage of posters who have complaints are usually complaining about is systems and security assuring the safety of our customers funds. The majority of delays on a withdraw for instance are fraud prevention systems doing their work.
417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How long to wait of CRYPTSY.COM doge withdrawal? on: September 24, 2014, 03:38:12 AM
Should not be any issues with dodge. If you reset your password you have to wait 24 hours before coins will send could be the issue.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Code reviews for altcoins on: September 23, 2014, 02:08:48 AM
Cool. What you really should do is drop the git release repository against say the LTC or BTC source and analyse the differences.

You should also keep a copy of the launch source and update it against releases if you want to really look into it. By that I mean look at gits that are wiped clean or moved from the initial launch. Dig and you will find   Grin

It's not possible to effectively compare most coins directly to Bitcoin. Most coins are forked from peercoin, or novacoin, or novacoin with some modifications, or changes backported, or a weird version in between releases. So, I match them up against coins that have been out a relatively long time and never had any serious problems.

I'd rather not go into detail about everything I exactly look at and compare against, because I do not want it to be easier for scam developers to know where to hide things. And I have local copies of every coin's git repository that I review. If a git repository is ever wiped clean, deleted, etc, I can easily upload my own local copy. But, doing it for every coin would just be too much of a pain with my slow upload speed.

Also, if anyone has a known source of USBCoin or Ninjacoin (before exploits were patched), I'd love to get a copy of it

They know its a pain that's why they do it.

Obviously you would just use the base LTC, BTC, Novacoin, Darkcoin etc.

Good work.

Make the comparison to BTC or LTC a % difference and list them all haha
